What are some companies out there who allow a 24-hour frame in which to return work, no set hours, but a minimum line count requirement within a specified time frame.  Thanks in advance.

24-hour time frame
MDI-MD.  Lots of happy people there.  IC status.
If there a time frame for return of funds? sm
I know Silent Type wants $500. to get back in 6 months, baloney, this is just a way to get an iinterest free loan to purchase there equipment. I turned it down. On current company, you may suggest to get a predated check for the $125 to coincide with the proposed return of funds, then you can just automatically cash, hopefully there are funds there.
My usual VR fits mostly the same time frame
as yours although I have gotten 600+ before but never 800+ and I start usually at 12, started 15 minutes earlier and by 1 o'clock that is what I had. I keep my speed as fast as it will go also, you cannot make any money unless you are able to do that. I was surprised myself, first time for me and perhaps just a fluke but hey, I will take that.
Mine took about that long and the pedal and stuff came in about that time frame sm
BUT I live in the God-forsaken WILDERNESS! By the time the bills show up here they are already late. Only thing I ever get on time is my paycheck.
First, what kind of time frame are we talkin? 6000 lines in a week?

I ask because 6 cpl is horrible and if they expect you to produce 12,000 lines in a week in order to get 9 cpl, well that's just nuts.

But I digress, you original question was should you continue to work when you do not have access to your line count --> NO!  And the fact that you are getting the run around should be sending up red flags.

Now you couple that with the 6 cpl and I would have to say this place you work at sucks!

I love MDI-MD, and you have a 24-hour turnaround time to get your work done. sm

I'm not sure if they have clinic work, though, but they might.

Good luck in your search!

Anyone know of any companies that let you work within a 24 hour time window? sm

I am wondering if there are any companies that let you work anytime you want as long as you get your daily or weekly line count in?  Thanks....

I have many, many years experienced and was just told a little while back, even though I am an IC, that I have to have a set schedule...And I am struggling to follow the set schedule due to family illness....

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

100,000/year - no way. I charge $35/hour and work 10 hour days - sm
AND I DO NOT CLEAR $100,000/YEAR.

what's not to believe - I said that I charge $35/hour and work 10 hour days AND DO NOT MAKE - sm
I DO NOT MAKE $100,000/YEAR

try READING the post.
TIme it to see what you are making per hour. Bet you

Well as had been mentioned before MQ NE is looking for a 1 hour turnaround time so there is no way
any accounts will have work for the MTs and that is what they want to do. I think MQ is losing so many accounts they are trying to do these things to get more accounts plus I am sure cutting into the pay of MTs with their new pay plan when it comes out. With 1 hour turnaround time how can anyone get high production for any kind of incentive pay plan. No way in my book. You would be in a zillion accounts. Well, with MQ reputation and good MTs quitting, I hope this plan works for them.
Companies with 24-hour turnaround time

I know it has been has been posted here before, but I can't seem to find it. Is there a list of companies that have a 24-hour turnaround time for getting work back?

Also, a list of companies that use ExText or train on speech recognition? Thanks.

MDI-MD has a 24-hour window, no time clock to punch
x
Webmedx 12 hour window question.. Do you have to time in and out? (sm)

Do you get to choose the 12 hour window hours?

Do you really mean they are that flexible.  Say you have to go to school and pick up a sick child, do you have to notify anyone you will be leaving your computer or can you just go and tend to business as long as you work your 8/12?

Sorry, that does seem to be more than 1 question.

MDI-MD hires part-time, and you have a 24-hour window to do your quota. nm
x
Yeah, it seemed strange to me so I didn't do it. Also, they had a 24-hour turnaround time for the
test, not unheard of but seemed strange nonetheless.  No free work from me today.
Thank you! I'm looking for part-time work to supplement my no-work full-time job.

I also work for a co. with 24 hour TAT
This one has around 100 employees.
The most I have ever gone w/o work is about 1 hour (sm)
and I have been there 2 years, and no I am not management.
Only out of work for maybe an hour a day right now

This is the slow period. Most MT's know this. After working 9 1/2 years at a hospital, this happened there, too. Don't get in a tizzy. Once it picks up, you'll not be able to breathe.

One year at TT and this is a breath of fresh air to me after working all the hours I did. Sure, I need the money, but it can be made up later, so I'm not worried, and I don't think the naysayers answering should worry either. Soon you'll all be complaining of TOO MUCH work.

TT Rocks.

If I was going to work for $10/hour
I would pick something a lot less stressful...like flippin' burgers.  Maybe a greeter at Wally World.
39 hour work week
is what it says. Sorry, 39 not 40 for those counting.
24 hour window to do work?
Are there companies who do not require a strict schedule to get your work done, so you have a little flexibility to work your hours in a day?
I'm averaging an hour of work a day
If you have been hired as a transcriptionist, I hope you know you have to wait a month and a half to get paid. I have two accounts with almost no work.
I currently work a 12 hour window.
nm
Only ran out of work for 1 hour after Labor Day. (sm)
Usually always work in primary, if not secondary and tertiary kick right in and seem to be plentiful.

For those new hires or people considering TT, ask the recruiter and she will let you know if they are hiring in anticipation of another new account or not. That should help alleviate your worries.

It's a great company, well worth riding the slight ups and downs with.
I'm lookin for part-time work (about 3-4 hrs daily) after 13 years of full-time, anyone know of a
company that is hiring flexible part-time?  I'm starting a career in real estate but don't want to totally quit transcription, but I think most places require 25 hours a week and I cant work weekends, as real estate sales are the biggest on the weekend with open houses and people off work to shows homes to.  If you know of a place I'd sure appreciate the info.  Thanks!
i work 3 part-time jobs now. it can be confusing if you are learning both at the same time, but sm
other than that not a problem for me. best to get one down before starting to other or you might become overwhelmed.
Nationals with 10- to 12-hour window to work 8 hrs?
I did a search in the archives, but the info I found was a little outdated. Thanks for any help you can provide.
I work at a hospital and we have a quota of 15 per hour which is 120 per day. nm
nm
I have work - started an hour late, though.
nm
if your take home is $6.50/hour and your doing quality MT work...sm
sweetness, it's time for you to find another profession. You can go flip burgers with bennies for that pay. This is an example of why our pay scale is so low. There are those MTs who are willing to work for peanuts. One should never make this low wage in this profession. You must either have to do a lot of researching because you lack medical terminology knowledge, or the company you are working for is putting the screws to you. I truly feel sorry that you find are willing to do this. Good luck to you.
there is NO WAY I would work for 9 bucks an hour!!! What is the email
address??? I would LOVE to email them and tell them how crazy they are!!!
I have to work 8-hour strict schedule SM
Platform is either Chartmatrix or Enterprise, average pay, the company is just average all around.  It's not horrible but it also isn't great.  Up until 6 months ago I would have recommended to give them a try, but they have started this downhill slide, feels more like Spheris now.  I have felt this for the last 6 months.  When the job market opens up a bit more I'm going to look around.
Do you work a straight 8-hour schedule?
On a good day when there is a lot of work available, I can make about $120 in 5 hours.  Plus that 5 hours is when 'I' want to do it throughout the day.  On an average day, I make about the same amount of money in about 6 to 6-1/2 hours.  Since I have been doing this job for so many years, my old body can't take sitting and typing for an extended period of time.  I really don't know if I could handle working 8 hours a day anymore.
think, people! If she does 250 lines/hour, same docs daily, will make $15/hour
nm
I find it very hard to believe that all work types are on a 1-hour TAT(sm)
Are you talking about stats or everything?  Do you have this 1-hour TAT in writing?  I've never even heard of hospitals being on that tight a TAT.
Slow start yesterday - out of work for about 1 hour -
nm
My "lull" lasted about an hour. Now it's back on too much work!! (LOL)
nm
Are there any companies that allow you a 12-24 hour window to complete work?
x
Absolutely - I work off FTP and have a 24-hour window to return files.
I work my own schedule daily and keep my TAT. It is that simple. No big deal. I download my files late in the evening, transcribe the next day and upload them late in the evening.

Whatever works!
I was paid by the hour to work from home for a large hospital. nm
x
Your kidding yourself; NO 12-hour window at Transtech AT ALL! You work your schedule EXACTLY !
This is a fact and all TT MT's know this.
Are you telling her to work for $5 an hour? That is not healthy or good advice nm
nm
Ugh - well I did all my work on time and I expect to be paid on time.

The phone company doesn't wait, the cable company doesn't wait, and the electric company doesn't wait for their money either - all of which I need to pay in order to do my job.  I work when I am supposed to, I help when behind, and give 110%, and I ask for my check to be on time.

I think if an MTSO is going to have to mail checks they should do so priority to make up for the delay.

Full time but no work half the time-nm
nm
Part-time MT getting full-time work ??????

TransTech should not be giving out work to PT people on their DAY OFF, or any other time BEFORE a full-time MT has enough work    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are doing 2400 lines in an 8 hour day, working 5 accounts +, running out of work on all 5,

then pray tell us how you are doing it.  I certainly would like to share this with MQ because I also have done this many years, know my work, and there is no way to do 2400 lines because most days all the accounts are out of work.

listening

at that rate, working acute care, I would do $28 an hour - but I only work 6 hours a day...
Like she said, you just have to be able to utilize all your tools and be at it for years - it comes eventually...

I actually make $33.00 an hour though because at my production tier I make 10 cpl a line.
$35/hour x five 10-hour days = $1,750 gross/week.
x
$20 an hour is not even average for radiology. You should not make less than $25-30 per hour. sm
I work for Keystrokes and have for 3 years. I average 25 reports an hour, which is $31.25 an hour. I have 401, health insurance, direct deposit, life insurance. My lead tells me I'm wonderful when I talk to her, but I do not need a daily pat on the back.

I also have a good friend who works for them on a clinic. She only makes 0.08 per line but does 300 lines an hour, which is $24 an hour, again higher than your $20.

I don't think we're selling ourselves short. There are companies out there that are good to work for, 6 or 8 of them that I know of personally. Don't settle for $20 an hour.
