A company feels like if you keep your credit in good standing, then

Posted By: Agree with checking on 2007-12-23
In Reply to: Credit check - anon

they can expect the same from you. I am in total agreement with a company checking, I have nothing to hide, in fact am very proud of what my credit score is. They don’t care what you owe or how much you owe, the only thing they are looking for is how do you handle your credit. When you are renting now, places check your credit. Smart move on their part.

Just curious as to what MTSO feels is good pay for
x
10.5 w/ benefits & niceness feels good to me
.
Anyone hire on with MQ recently that feels it's a good fit? Getting the pay you wanted? nm
,
Did not say your credit was not good, I don’t care what your numbers are
I said MINE and only mine is what I care about. I am completely out of debt, only pay monthly bills and it does not matter about yours or anyone elses credit scores to me, only mine but I was just passing on what I had heard, not what I made up. The best thing for anyone to do if they are thinking about freezing their reports is to contact their credit bureaus. As for me, I see no need in doing this at all. What others do, I could care less. My slate is perfectly clear. Others scores, who cares?
Someones credit has absolutely nothing to do with how good a worker they are.
There are more people now days that have low credit scores compared to those that do not. A lot of different scenarios can put you with bad credit like major medical bills.

I don't think people should be judged on their work habits by something that may be beyond their control.
Why would a company do a credit check?

They are not loaning you money and you're not purchasing anything on credit are you?

Call the credit card company
and file a claim. Most have a $ limit (has to be x$ or more) but this is your best bet.

And then file a report - you'll have to do some research in your state to find out where.

I am not a lawyer, but I doubt the contract would hold up in court.

PRINT OUT every piece of correspondence you have on your computer in case your computer crashes. Also save it to disc.
AllHealth in GA - Good company, good equipment, any info about this company? (sm)

What type of work do they have?  Any op reports?  Appreciate any info.

Thank you for standing up for MTs
You are absolutely correct, the more you make, the bigger target you are to fall the hardest.  I would just like to write that I am a very good MT.  I am leaving this field because I have been employed by companies that promise the world, but never deliver.  I get offers reguarly, but this business is cut throat and I do not want to be a part of it any more.  Thank you for standing up.  Just because I am leaving this field, does not mean I am a lazy MT or not a good MT.  I AM A GOOD MT.
why are they still standing?
How long can one company not pay people without some sort of legal punishment? I have seen negative messages about this company on this board for who knows how long....a couple years I've been on here. Can the workers and past workers not start a class action against this company? Morally, I could never do people that way.
Standing ovation for this (nm)
.
This post was standing up for GP...
it was directed to the other poster who keeps harassing GP. Read the last paragraph of the OP's post.
It is a long standing issue at

Davis Transcription including bounced checks (notice I did not say check).  I gave up.  My work is worth some respect and that is measured by when the company pays.  She has excuse after excuse and the office staff just floats along with her.  Soooo glad I left!

Good luck

If that's the case, bravo for her for standing up
for her beliefs. I took a stand on mine when I quit a former job. All the best to her if that's the case.
Insulting others who are hurting is not standing up for yourself
Don't fool yourself into thinking what you have up your back is a backbone ;-)

R.H.Occupant-the sad thing is the door is standing

not everyone feels that way...

I just had to say that I have saw the posts regarding those who did not like you or said that you were awful to deal with, but I don't agree.  I'm still with D&L after you brought me on and love it.  I never had any problems with you.  You handled your job and kept me in work.  I was very surprised to find you no longer there.  I wish you luck in whatever you are doing now!

Yes, me too. I know how OP feels. I also SM
want to add to GP, you sound like a wonderful person and I have always enoyed your posts.

I'm not out of this, but the end should be coming soon.
See, it is working, we are strong and standing up for our American sister MTs!
We can make this a positive. You are already doing that! We former Heartlanders appreciate what you have done for us. We cannot remain silent.
Feels kind of right, what your saying
"The other troublemaker"
It is evident that not everyone feels the same way
I am another MT that feels a recruiter should be here arguing for or against their company.  If they are good company, they will retain good MTs whether they offshore or not.  In regard to company paperwork, not everyone is inclined to own a fax machine.  It is not a prerequisite for a job.
finally, someone else who feels the
way that I do. We are all human beings with feelings and deserve to be treated as such. Thank you.
IMO, FN feels MTs are disposable

They must think there is an endless supply of warm bodies to do this job and put up with being treated poorly.  I really didn't have any trouble with the staff, the platform or the pay -- there just was no work.  Therefore, I took on a second job and phased away from working for them.  I need money to live.  Getting 5 jobs, then No Job Available for the rest of the day was unacceptable.

Does everyone get it yet?!?  They don't care about their transcriptionists.  What they care about is their TAT and being sure to remain over-staffed.  When I told them I was leaving, the response was, Well, you have to do what you have to do.  We are all replaceable in their eyes:  Disposable, robotic typists.  Their loss.

Gourdpainter - Aren't you the MT being sued by MTSO for slander/standing up? Yeah I need that.
x
MTSOs need to know the work is going to be done consistently. Not just when someone feels like
:+
She acts as if she feels threatened and angry
At least that was my impression of her.

You're right though. She'll get her come-down some day.

Yep. This MT feels like a ping pong ball...
Meanwhile, because the last 6 months has not been the best with the MTSOs, owe lots of bills, and looking to change jobs for about the 3rd time. Actually very tired of being promised and then not having a full paycheck. What am I to tell the bill collectors today? I am going to apply to another job, or take on another, because my job is always running out of work? Talk about a poor credit reference. Uggg. Signed the ping pong MT.
Does anyone recommend a pretty good company that is good to work for, pay always on time and plenty
of work.  I know that is asking a lot, but just curious?
You'd be surprised who feels they aced tests but didn't.
Everyone always thinks they are the big kahona in testing but I am never surprised at lower scores.

If you bombarded them with tons of emails, etc., you probably hindered your ownself.

Never be too sure of yourself. I see it undone every single day.
Strictly IC, good company, hard accounts, good platform.
Good pay, always on time, no direct deposit though.
Is Transcend a good company with a good platform to work on. They are advertising.
:
Webmedx hires some ICs. Good company. So sorry for your loss. Good luck!
x
TransTech for many reasons, good pay, stable company, good benefits
and flexible.
I have looked around the last 6 months and have found nothing better. Have turned down numerous jobs, and have finally decided to stay put. The better insurance plans were announced and even moreso than ever, I am staying put, and my paycheck is happy about that because it is getting better every day. Good luck to you.
not to mention, this feels like a push to make this just a part-time
job because it seems to be happening already. My partner drives a school bus and they do that to the drivers, they only allow them to work so-many hours a week, with absolutely NO benefits, other than the few the union has gotten them, and the bit higher pay scale. My partner also has had the union fight for his job many times especially when new managers would come in and right away want to 'clean house', get rid of the higher paid, senior drivers. It costs him 37 dollars a month though for 10 months and that is a drag too but in the long run, he does have some protection and the union is only as strong as its members. they are also in bed with management most of the time but these managers are usually nasty, aggressive, and would rather just hire their friends and family, and that is one thing I appreciate the union for, if nothing else...

you have to have an advocate - someone has to have our best interest in mind if we are ever to keep our jobs...
Nope, just tired of the whining; feels like a daycare center
Seems to me all the time and energy put into this board whining over something that cannot be changed would be more wisely used either (a) learning VR or (b) putting out one's resume.
TransTech is a good company. Debbie is the owner and a good one at that! nm
n
Good company, great people, good benefits.
Affordable insurance. Good luck!
I know JLG and they are a good company with a good group of people

I joined JLG about 9 month ago and I am thrilled with the experience that I have had.  Although the company has been around for 20+ years, a group of good industry veterans who know how to operate fairly to both employees and clients have joined the company in the past year.  I followed my manager from another giant company.

I have also worked on this account and it was plauged with problems from the start.  The hospital required the account to be implemented in a matter of days, there were technical issues and the hospital management staff was new and the employees were mad because transcription had been outsourced.  Personally, I won't miss this client but good luck to those that get it.

There is plenty of work at JLG and I have already been advised on my new assignments

DSG is a good company. The sound quality is good sm
but I don't understand why they are hiring. In the a.m. was have NO work. The afternoon and evenings do have more work though.
or maybe it's really a good company. Give me a break. If a company isn't talked about sm
on here, good or bad, it's probably too small to matter and does not offer benefits or anything at all.
Good company, with good incentive SM
pay scale, decent health plan for full-timers, lower end for other benefits, well organized and dependable, good platform, good support. Very heavy ESL, medium-sized community medical centers, relatively high SR pay rate because it takes longer overall to clean it up. However--good producers who put in a good workday make quite good money here.
Your credit?
Make sure you have their correct business address and check them out with the local better business bureau. They may be scam artists. They may not even be a real company. Who in the heck are they?
credit due you? Since when do I owe YOU anything...sm
:^p ppppffffftttttt! good bye!

you are not *owed* anything by me or anyone else, except maybe a good swift kick in the you know what, which is what YOU want to give everybody else, because they *whine* too much...according to you. so there...ppppffffttttt again. double rasberry!
What about all the credit card

numbers you give them when you order something?

Last year, I tried to order a Dell keyboard.  I must have wound up on the phone with someone from India, and before I could give her my credit card number, she insisted on knowing whether it was a personal or business account.

At that point, I told her I didn't feel comfortable giving my information to her, and I hung up.  I will never order anything from Dell again because of this.  In fact, I've limited my on-line, over-the-phone purchases since this happened.

I agree with you that we should boycott, but maybe we shouldn't limit it to the healthcare industry.

Why Credit Check for MT job?

Does anyone know why an MT service would want to do a Consumer Report on applicants?  I can understand a background check, but why do they need to do a credit check?  I've never had this come up before.

I have never had to have a credit check
to work. Not all companies do this. Granted some do but they all do not! You'll find another job just hang tight.
credit check
They do the credit check/background check because they are giving you THEIR equipment. Having worked on the inside for a few years, you would be surprised how many transcriptionists have drug problems, arrest records, identity theft, and best of all - sell the equipment for $$!!!
Credit check
I am not sure potential employers are allowed to run a credit check without your authorization. Are you sure you did not sign something authorizing them to do so? I recently filled out a long application for a hospital and then when I got to the end, there was a notification that they run credit checks. I did not finish application because I do not feel they should have access to all my financial information.
credit check
I have nothing to hide either. I have owned a house since I was 26 and my credit is excellent. My original point was I do not think they are legally able to check without your authorization. If they just want to get my credit rating number that is fine, but I do not feel an employer has any business knowing how many credit cards I have, name of my mortgage, etc., when I am sitting at home 1500 miles away from the hospital transcribing. It is not like I will be stealing from the petty cash drawer.
I'm sure not going to get into a credit score war w/you, BUT....
I can guarantee you that mine is way higher than yours - and it didn't get that way by allowing whomever wanted to look at my credit report to send me a bunch of BS through the mail or call me! I have never heard of the person to whom you referred in your last posting, but I guess there is only one expert or advisor in the world, correct? I will continue to use the freeze on my account and know that I'm protected while you on the other hand..................
Well, it seems to me if credit card
Most of the telephone reps have an accent!  So, I'm sure they're sitting their with my information too.  I'm sure they don't care about my last colonoscopy or Pap smear, but they sure do have my credit card number, social security number, and address.  What can someone do with your medical history?  Can they steal your identity with your medical history?  Let's be realistic here.
