I mean really..we dont need to earn a living or eat. I'd love to sit all day at home making minimum wage. This business has gone down the tubes. I'm just insulted.

Amen sister

You said it.

AMEN SISTER
Totally agree with you. I love Transcend.
AMEN SISTER!!
I am scheduled 7-12 and will probably be hanging around for a couple of jobs here and there since everyone took advantage of the extra $$$$ leaving me with hardly any jobs and those jobs are my secondary LOL

AMEN SISTER!!!
:)  Stand up for yourselves!!!  We are not mice!!!  :)
Amen, Sister!!
This whole argument is just beyond ridiculous. I can not believe ANYONE would try to defend this nonsense.

If it was okay, then MTs would not get written up and fired for doing it. Period. End of argument.

Amen sister!
I don't care who says it or when they say it, cutting a person's wage is NOT doing them a big fat favor!  The sky is NOT green and the grass is NOT blue!
Amen, Sister!
It's like any other job in the world, 99% is what YOU make of it. There's good and not so good, but I've worked lots of places that were much worse.
AMEN SISTER/BROTHER!!! nm

I agree.  Whoever is responsible for this crappy platform and at the cost (I believe) of $1 million screwed up royally!!!

AMEN MT SISTER SALLY!!

I worked there 2 years before things started going downhill.  You didn't even mention all the India outsourcing they started doing.    I have moved on to MUCH greener pastures.  Thankfully!  Think twice before you go SGS girls!!

Amen, sister, right on the money!...nm

Good for your sister. Wish I had tried that back in the 80s. sm
Now I'm spoiled working at home.    It's funny, now that I'm in my 50s, all these new career options come to mind.  I would love to be a veterinarian.  Too late in the game for that.  If only I had known in my teens.  sigh
P&G forced my sister to stop selling Mary Kay in her spare time...gotta SM!
This was years ago way before P&G even owned Revlon. It's not like my sister wore a white coat and created cosmetic formulas. She was a RECEPTIONIST!!! The Suits at P&G told her to make a choice because they didn't need an employee working for the competition...Give me a break!

BTW, the ONLY reason my sister even sold the MK was so she could get it 1/2 price.

Whatever you do on YOUR time is YOUR business!! (As long as no laws are being broken or ppl getting hurt)IMO
If you have this much free time on your hands....
In the name of all that is holy, OP, seek professional help NOW.

Ex-employees with too much free time on your hands
We all know who has been posting the negative remarks; ex-employees that have far too much unemployed time on their hands and they spend this free time posting negativity on web sites. Please, seek help, therapy, change your attitude, try to adapt some professionalism and work ethics into your personna, and get on with your miserable life. Your 'sour grapes' attitude is getting so old. Get off of the web sites and get a life.
Same thing here with the co. I work for..free time is

ok sometimes but I really want to work!

Heavens, no. They are free to leave at any time.
themselves to be.
but it is a free country. People ask questions all the time that
are best answered by a representative of the company in question.
does he also donate to charity?

Donate plasma
It's not the *most* fun in the world but you will be paid in cash immediately after donating. Just Google plasma donation centers and your zip code - may be one close by.

As to the payday option - don't do it unless you know you can pay it off and not have to keep renewing it. Biggest rip off ever. But its easier than the plasma and probably can get much more than the typical donation payment.

Amen, I had the same experience, not good, and
I absolutely noticed that the line counter was jacked. Even besides that, I would check and the paycheck was always a little short. I had to call the person who was in charge of that every single pay period and every single time she was annoyed. One time she told me to hold on, and then she dropped the phone on her desk and I listened to her type whatever she was typing. It was really rude. She wanted to finish what she was typing. Well then don't answer the phone. I guess she didn't look at her caller ID to see that it was only me calling again about another shorted pay check.

As for that Karen person, I felt the exact same way as you. That person smelled insincere from the first time I read her post. I thought it was someone who works for MedScribe trying to improve their image. Every time someone asked about MedScribe, the same Karen would chime in about how great it was. Since I worked there for a year, I knew that nobody in their right mind would chime in about how great they were and so Karen had to be a fake.

I started to make more money after I left there also.

The other thing I absolutely hated was all the emails all day long, scolding people. It depressed me. I even asked them to only send me emails that apply to me. They were so lazy that if one person did something wrong, they would email the whole crew and berate them. They told me if it doesn't apply to me to just ignore it.
Go donate plasma. $40 a pop, plus a bonus
if you're new to donating. You might find a buyer for your Happy Meal toys on Ebay. I sold some for a nice profit once. Got any books you could sell on ebay or Half.com? Old jewelry you could pawn? DVDs, CDs, unused electronics, collectibles? I got $85 for a Starbucks coffee mug on Ebay.

What about shopping sales and using grocery coupons to get by cheap on food? No friends or family you can borrow from? Any friends or relatives you can babysit or clean house for?

I'd try to steer clear of the title loans or payday loans. They have a tendency to suck you in so it's a never-ending cycle. Can you get a pay advance from work? I've done that before.
I dont have time today..

First, I would have to sift through all those posts about the bad sound quality, runtime errors, lost audio icons, etc., etc., and I do not have time for that today.  I have to type for Webmedx, and I know how much they are paying me.  They did not make me wait for 12 days to find out what I was making 12 days ago.  So anyway, gotta go now because they have PLENTY of work.

And they are also offering a sign-on bonus of 1,000 if anyone else at Transcend is interested!!!

AMEN TO THAT.. I worry all the time how fast our jobs are dwindling down thanks to work going
to other countries and more companies going to the voice recognition programs. Obviously, they will still need proofreaders and editors for the VR stuff, but not as many people. I feel like someday our jobs will just be gone so yes invest your money into nursing or something. Anything else medical is a win-win situation, just not transcription as a whole.
Anybody know of any good line counting software that is free to download?

TIA

I dont have a problem with the time clock. sm
Actually I don't have any trouble getting in my time; I have a 38-hour schedule and put in probably 39 hours of clock-in time to get that. The thing is - you need to clock out when you do research or if you are surfing the 'net; otherwise it brings down your LPH average. I have a 12-hour window in which to get my time and my manager NEVER bugs me about when in that 12-hour period I am working.
Dont waste your time with Bayscribe.
/
Only took 5 min & my post re:dont waste time emailing
.
Odd way of doing business. Most places dont have time to play those games. They just get rid
of people and move on.
Did you ever consider staying with them part time? I dont know if I should leave altogether or not.
And other days I just want to throw in the towel totally. Ugggg.. this MT business!
Good think they have something. They DONT have grammar
x
Its sad that we dont believe MTs can make good money at this job....

In the past 7 years that I have been an at-home IC (left my hospital job), I have made no less than $50k and this year, will hit my all-time high of $62K.  There are still good accounts out there, with great dictators that pay .10 to .11 cpl and if you are fast, with great macros and expanders, you can still make $40-$50/hr.  Experience and reliability are what get you top dollar and there are companies willing to pay.   Its sad we doubt those that make the good money.  Maybe there is a tad bit of jealousy there!

DONT FORGET GOOD WAGES!!
nm
They really dont pay enough for having most ESL accounts. Hard to get a good line count
and then to only make 8 cpl. It really is not worth it. Chartscript is not productive in my opinion.
Free enterprise. You are free to re-educate and retrain, as well!!!!
What's the complaint?!

I've been there quite a while, pay on time, growth spurt right now, so good time to get on board,
new accounts and lots of work, and before someone says it, I'm not management, just an employee.
From time to time those paper checks aren't good!
nm
Personally, DSG is a good fit for me. Pay is good and on time, sound quality depends on the account
and I like the platform. There is not much weekend work, although sometimes is available.  I get along well with the management, no major complaints.  There is pay incentive once you get over a certain number of lines in a pay period.  I work as an IC, so can't help with benefits, insurance questions, etc.
Does anyone recommend a pretty good company that is good to work for, pay always on time and plenty
of work.  I know that is asking a lot, but just curious?
I dont cherry pick, never did. I dont do that to my coworkers on my account.

What is the new status. I dont understand what it means. I dont need their benefits nor do I want
them.
I dont know what that means. I am an SE. I dont sit and wait for work I come back in when it is
there so I never had to deal with Amherst when there was no work because I just stopped working and did other things. My feeling is if this doesnt work there are other jobs out there.
