To the SpellCheck Queen and Grammar Police...Sorry for the errors. I sent it before proofing.
I know it's a MT no-no.
Please do not grammar police here...

Many MTs come to this site to relax and may not have the time or desire to proofread their messages.

GRAMMAR POLICE - sm

Having nothing meaningful to contribute, these immature holier-than-thou self-proclaimied experts need to vent their insecurities by finding fault with something as insignificant as spelling/grammar.  Reminds me a lot of a large percentage of QAs -- need to nitpick on something trivial, real or imagined.

I would just tell them to kiss my butt, unless they are also paying my salary - otherwise they should MTOB.

BTW, grammar police are not allowed.
Go back to your corner now.
No grammar and spelling/capitalization police please, nm

Ignore the grammar and spelling police
on this board and in private email, and they will go away.
oops half of them (my own grammar police)
nm
Oops. Meant to say grammar police.
Doesn't anyone ever know how to spell anymore? LOLOL. Sorry just had to get your gote. um er goat.
Oops. I meant "hear of" Sorry grammar police!

Excuse me for typing "have went". I was in a hurry and did not know grammar police would be p

The moderators have already requested that you stop with the grammar police stuff.
This is not the forum for you to try to be queen of QA.  I am not insecure about my grammar skills, but I certainly am not going to get all in a tizzy if I make a mistake while posting on a message board, nor will I get all bent out of shape if I see an error in someone else's post.  This forum is here to network with each other about various companies, hence the name COMPANY board and not GRAMMAR board.
No never above 2200 w/ proofing
But I have seen people post on here that they do 3000 and I figured the company had a lot to do with it.
Thanks. I did what you suggested
except I called and left a message and, within an hour or so, I had a job offer. I dub thee my unseen angel!

I think spell check, proofing and the sm

other things you mentioned are a given for the job. When I say proofread, I mean type a report, then go back and proof, not proof as you go. I am sure we all do that.

Everyone, regardless of what they are paid, should spell check, know their accounts, know grammar and punctuation usage, etc.

I am sure many would lose money if paid hourly, sounds like you are doing well, good for you! If I had the attention span I am sure I could make what you make. I should make that my goal this year. However, how many times on these boards have you read that I am only making $3 an hour. I have read that more than I have read that people are making what you make.

What about your benefits? Do you have retirement with matching contribution from your company? Do you have health insurance, dental, vision, etc, paid for by your company (or at least sharing the cost). Do you  have paid days off? Please, I would really like to know. If I am making $30k a year with the above benefits, essentially I am almost making what you make with my benefits, wouldn't you think? I would have to run some numbers, but I think we would come very close in salary.

Also, depending on where you live, $30k can be good money. If you live in Hawaii, which is the most expensive state to live, $30k might not get you far, however, if you live in Missouri, $30k might be great money. Let's face it, $50k is not that great if you live in downtown Manhattan.

So, we throw in something else to think about, cost of living. Since an MTSO generally hires nationwide, is the cost of living of your employee a factor in what you pay?

I would think that the way an MTSO pays is generally driven by being competitive with the next company (our prices are lower)not necessarily based on cost of living or taking into consideration the education and experience of the people they are going to hire.

Thanks to all 3 posters above. I will look where you suggested! nm

Someone on this board suggested . .
doing it this way. Hold down the control key, push the up down wheel on your mouse up or down, it will make the font bigger or smaller. Just remember to change it back before exiting the document.
I suggested that to them one time -
They acted like I had lost my mind! I think those with the power to assign work pools have forgotten what it is like to type reports with all kinds of different specifics for hospitals all over the place with hundreds and hundreds of docs and even more referring docs. My pool is set to where I switch back and forth all day long between these hospitals with different specifics. It is pretty grueling!
I'm not the OP, but what you suggested is hilarious and
absolutely not true.
Never suggested being discourteous. Just saying if

I have not responded yet. It was suggested that
we should let them know when we were ready to train. I figure when It gets to the point when I am not getting my required lines for the pay period, I will left them know I need the training.
Clinic notes 6.65 then 7 when off proofing within 90 days
It was supposed to be 7.5 cents if off proofing within 30 days, but they never did a QA assessment, so got 7 cents after calling and asking for an assessment.
What is wrong with you people and proofing the replies? Do you not have anything better to do? Pro

Spellcheck can't help you there, though.
Like VR, spellcheck can't be bothered to check context, LOL.
thanks...I did what you suggested....the info helps.
nm
Why should I waste time proofing posts, they don't pay the bills. nm
nm
Dano sure needs spellcheck...

No spellcheck? Yikes!

Bayscribe/spellcheck
Thanks! Just wanted to know.

:)
red line on spellcheck
You can set BeyondTXT to red line misspelled words if you go into options when you are doing spell check.
Someone suggested everyone has overhired a lot of former MedQuist people -
Not sure if this is true or not, but it is one possibility. A friend of mine says her checks have been less than half what they normally are for June AND July. Let's hope it picks up for us all soon!
sorry about typos..typing too fast without proofing, as this subject really irritates me.nm.
nm
So, what is a person supposed to do for spellcheck? NM

Software, pedal, spellcheck, headset

Maybe things will be better with Webmedx
More than likely, I would advise you to
Of course, I don't know specifics about your current situation, but the other poster has pretty muched nailed it in summing up nationals. Any chance your current job would let you work from home? That would probably be your best bet.

Good luck to you!
My advise would be to get out of there
Any company that does this is dishonest, and they are not a place you want to work for. I have worked for a lot of companies, some not so great ones, but none of them ever did this. There are much better companies out there who will not screw with your line counts and will leave you alone to do your work. Good luck!
No but thanks for the advise- I will (nm)
nm
I don't have any advise but I too

Need your advise
Is it easy to make good Line count working on OP notes? I have been offered a position to work on OP notes. I have some experience with OP notes. So, just wanted to know if I can make a decent Line count with it? Appreciate any help.
Does Dictaphone ExText come with a built-in medical spellcheck? SM

More specifically, does TransTech's platform have a medical spellcheck?  TIA

I would advise you to post
your resume on the MTstars resume bank, which is linked at the top of the Job Seekers board.  State exactly what you're looking for, then let the little MTSOs come to you.  The smaller MTSOs generally do not post job ads because they get overwhelmed with hundreds of unqualified applicants.  Good luck with it!
Good advise - Thank You! nm
nm
With TransHealth's main platform ChartMatrix, the spellcheck is integrated. nm

I think they are working for the companies they advise us against!!
I am beginning to think they are working for the companies they advise us against so we won't take their work !!
OK - I'll wait - thanks for the advise! nm
nm
I would strongly advise you to reconsider
Please read all the archives here... too much to mention and the messages tend to get removed by the administrator because they are so bad. In a nutshell extremely unqualified management in most cases, promote friends and newbies to positions like team leads and QA, inconsistent and wrong QA half the time, on and on and on. Please don't bother with them. I promise you that you'll regret it if you do. Please read the archives here.
I wouldn't advise anyone to work there! It was...sm
sure not my cup of tea. Platform is FN, which I didn't find production oriented, and I wasn't crazy about their accounts, either. We parted after 3 days!
Thanks so much for the wonderful advise. I accepted the position.
