Agree exactly with Dano.. worked there but that does not sound familiar.

I honestly only worked there a month and left for personal reasons, but I will say that they were very nice and everyone was very helpful. I never encountered a moody person.

Dano, Dano, Dano, AUDIOS???
Next time I leave a job, i'm going to bid audios to them.  Hee hee.  That gave me a chuckle.  Thanks.
Yes, it does sound familiar
Yes, I have to say if I didn't love my accounts and job at AX, I would have been gone a long time ago because of the supervisor.
That does sound familiar.
The first e-mail I got said I had 24 hours to complete their test.  I work for Q now and thoroughly hate it.
Oh boy, does that sound familiar
Mine are older now, 23, 18 and 13. Those were hard years when they were little. I used to work on and off, then end up staying up half the night working while they were sleeping. My husband worked evenings, and never was much help anyway. Even now, he is liking having another kid, interrupts me constantly. My 13 year old is finally starting to get the fact that the amount of work I get done has a direct effect on my paycheck and what I can buy her :)

That said, I wish they were still little. It is easier to work now, but everything else is harder, financial, worrying about them, etc.
Boy! Does this story sound familiar....sm
I don't mean to make generalizations, but it is clear to me, as well as many other MTs, that most online MT companies over-hire MTs. The company's goal is to please the client with their 24 hour TATS, without taking into account the person on the other side who is actually transcribing the document. Unfortunately, I doubt this will ever change. Best thing I can conjure up is to get employed with an online company that is just hitting the ground and working their way up. Any and all suggestions are welcome.
Not familiar with actual company but familiar with platform some use and it is super-slick!
//
Dano sure needs spellcheck...

When I worked there, sound was probably the best sm
quality of any place I worked, but it could be the specific account or technical issues.  Do they still have the tiered pay scale?  That was one of the reasons I left the company.
Does sound strange, I worked there also and...
never, ever was there a pay issue.  In fact, the HR person apologized because the stubs were late once (although the direct deposit was right on time).
Sound just like a beast I worked SM
for in WA or was it OR?? Anyway, it was the 45-day wait thing and worse.....
You sound so positive, which is wonderful. I have worked my...
tush off learning this, too. In the last 5+ years I have had 1 week-long vacation (that's all) and other than that have regularly exceeded transcription goals for my companies. My average is about 7000 to 8000 lines a week which is well above what most companies expect.

Like you said, it is blood, sweat, tears, and NOT so easy. I just want to work somewhere where I can be excited about my job, too. Congratulations to you for landing your perfect job.
Well, not sure I agree about the sound but you are right,
there isnt much work available so it seems they want to keep the work right on the second which means of course you keep running out.
When I worked there sound quality was horrible and no one ever answered my emails..sm
Really the only good thing I have to say about them is their platform was great - DocQscribe.  I had no problem getting good lines.  But managment was rude, sound quality was awful on all 3 accounts I worked on, and they don't answer emails.
I agree they sound weird - let's ask her! nm
.
I worked for them PT briefly -- nice people but sound quality was awful. sm

That was a long time ago, though, and things could have changed.  If I remember, they paid decent wages.

Good luck.

Not to sound paranoid, but I tend to agree.
They control the work pools and can make your day as easy or as hard as they like. Before I asked why I was being switched around all the time, the line count was at least achievable. Afterwards, perhaps as my punishment, it became even worse. All different account specifics, all parts of the country, thousands of different doctors. Finally gave up. I took my 6 years of acute care and went somewhere else.
I agree! Have been saying for years the sound quality is bad.
p
I agree. Definitely called them. That doesn't sound right to me either.
x
I agree, horrid sound and crooked line counts

The line counter was a ripoff.  The sound quality was bad because it was copied over like a generation or 2.  Copies of copies or played into a phone or something.  Awful.  AND they scolded and sent nasty emails.  I swear I was in a depression during the time I worked for them.  Real bad, real bad.

Agree, lines are hard to get. I also think the sound quality doesnt help things. nm
:
Yes, I agree. The sound quality with VoiceWave Player is really bad. Worst I've ever heard.

Agree-I have worked for a lot of services
and everyone wants certain things their own way, I took everything the QA people said and did it right then, no argument.  I don't take that kind of stuff personally anyway, so if they tell me to put a space somewhere and take colons out somewhere else, I am fine with it.  The only comments I really got were things that were specific to the software, so I felt really good about the whole experience.
I totally agree! I have worked both at

home and at a hospital and I found it true for both locations.  I'm starting clinical next week and will only have to deal with doctors that are assigned to me.  I already know who the doctors are, so I can get a feel for them.  I'm tired of acute care and the BS these companies tell you.  I've had enough ESLs to last me a lifetime!  As soon as I exceed my quota and get into incentive range - they PLOP the ESLs on me so I don't make more money.

With clinical I know where I stand.

I too worked at SS once and totally agree with you.
The worst company by far.  Remember when that SS manager came on and threatened a poster (you?) with legal action for posting a letter they received from the company?  Awful, abusive and really, really dumb people working there.  There are many better companies out there than this one and as bad as some are, SoftScript was the WORST.
I agree. I have worked for them almost 2 years. sm
We had a slowdown when one account decided they wanted to leave. They learned a hard lesson and came back, and things have been smooth ever since. Even with the slow-down, it was just that.... slow.

The work is good. The pay is good. It's on time. They leave you alone and let you get your work done (for me, the no BS issue was a major factor). QA is always available. The owners are kind, and there is NO ASR/VR.

There are people here who like to trash the company, but I strongly suspect it is one, maybe two, people with a vendetta. Otherwise, it's a good place to work.
Have to agree with you there. When I worked there, I never cared for the sm

sweety and hon terms that were thrown around.  (I dislike it when waitresses call me hon, too -- makes me feel like I'm about 12 years old.)   I also think the term awesome is overused.  The Grand Canyon is awesome.  I am not.  And telling me you rock is not much compensation for having no work and no money.

That being said, I always liked D and everyone else.  It just didn't pay the bills.

I agree, it's a great company! I have worked
at many places, but Transcend is the best. No company is perfect, but I have been very happy here.
I so agree. Worked w/them for short time sm
and one of the worst experiences of my career.  Too many things to list.  Horrid.
Are you sure the sound quality was the platform and not your sound card? Also, I don't know of ma

services that pay "down time" if the platform is inoperational.  ALL software has its share of problems.  It's the nature of the business.  When you were hired, did you sign a contract accepting the terms regarding PTO?  If so, what could you possibly complain about since you did, afterall, sign the agreement?  Did you have a good relationship with your QA Editor/Team Leader that you could ask questions about account specifics?

My understanding of the VR is that it has been in development for a number of years not to be released until the fine tuning was complete.  It would seem to me, and I am in no way affiliated with Transcend, that provided that VR is good then earning a line rate as an Editor would be beneficial, if that's how Transcend is planning to compensate.

All in all, I would say that if anyone is interested in working for Transcend or any service for that matter, make sure to ask the services Recruiter specific questions.  If what you're hearing sounds good and makes sense, go for it.  If what your'e hearing is not all that you thought it would be, move on.  However, you MUST take what you read on forums boards with a grain of salt.  While some posts regarding various services may be legitimate, others may not be.

Good Luck!

MT Manners

I agree. Extext is the platform I've ever worked with. nm

I agree. I was with MQ and made fabulous money and worked for
large universities.  Finally, I had enough and left 2 years ago and never looked back.  It wasnt easy at first learning new hospitals but I am still at that place and am fine.  Actually, I like learning new hospitals every now and then, takes care of the boredom.  Now dont get me wrong, the money isnt as great, but I cant take the boredom.  I lose my focus when I get like that and get sloppy I think.  You just dont watch as closely so every now and then you need a reality check and get pulled back into shape, at least I do.  I focus much more closely on new accounts.
I agree, although I have worked all shifts and communication stinks no matter what.
I think emails get lost in the abyss. Sadly, your sending email to like eight people and still no answer. No thanks. I'm glad I am out of there. The only thing I did like was payment on time and DD. That's it. Very stressful job
anyone familiar with . . .

Electronic Medical Transcription Services?  Found them on MTJobs and would like some insight.  Thanks!

Familiar
Firday entertainment or just an owner / operator looking to get feedback - maybe if they are tired of annon bellyaching, they should post their company name and let us have it lol. Mnay of us do go to the people who bring us on as IC - but as an IC they state it is rheir company and they can do as they like - and sure they can - but without good MT they will not go anywhere but India. You owners must soon come to realize that we give your company it's good (or bad) name for the work WE do - you on the other hand hold checks, bounce checks, and give us grief for your own downfalls. Good luck to you all.
not familiar with D & L? who are they
x
I am not familiar with SH, so not much help there...
But I did use an Expander program that boosted my productivity b/4. That was great and it helped, but I needed to take the next step. With IT, it sort of thinks ahead for you. No memorizing the shortcuts...it works differently. If you type tpwa for The patient was admitted, IT automatically brings up several words and phrases that MIGHT possibly be used next, like: to the emergency room, to the hospital, in the past, and all you have to do is use 1 or 2 more Keystrokes to add whatever phrase is dictated. If you go to textware.com, you can get the lowdown. They also have a refund policy if it does not work for you. It took me a while to get used to it, but I love it now. I also use my expander in addition to IT. I have hospital, the, and, physician, etc. under my expander as well. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but I hope this helps.

Good luck!
Anyone familiar with LTS, Inc? Thanks
nm
Anybody familiar with SFT
There is a job posting on the job board by this company. Anybody know anything about this company?
Most of the ones I am familiar with you
either save up your sick time or vacation time (if they give any) or take Family Medical Leave Act with no pay.
You would not do at 4 cpl but very familiar?
I think $20+ per hour now times is pretty good salary plus with my full retirement money from SS and retirement check, I come out ok. You as others on here are doubting Thomases but those are the ones who can't cut the mustard doing it and probably never will be able to do for a good paycheck. Funny thing but the most I see for VR is 4, some has fallen to 3 and yet you are familiar,,,,, hmmmm would not do for 4. Oh, that makes a lot of sense, never do for 4 and very familiar. Do those 2 belong in the same sentence? If you really were familiar then you as a longterm MTer would not a newbie could not do.
I'm Familiar But It Was
There has been a lot of restructuring there and things are still in a state of complete disorganization.  Upper management gives conflicting comments when asked questions or for clarification, turnover is high, pay for MTs has been cut repeatedly, QA requirements gets changed often, and the list goes on.......it was not a good experience and personally I'm not sure I would recommend them to anyone.  If you have more questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
Anyone familiar wtih QED
Does anyone work for this company? Does anyone ave any advice on this company?
that sounds so familiar to me
I wrote the QA director regarding one incident and made my case. We, MTs, use our fingers, ears, and most importantly, our brains. Somehow, the QAs forget that we have brains and can analyze what we hear.
Anyone familiar with EZ-Scribe? (sm)
Any comments welcome!
Anyone familiar with TRX, Inc? I have an interview

Anyone familiar with Inscribe or NTI? nm

Sounds familiar..
Sounds like we work for the same company! I started a couple of months ago. It totally feels like I've come home to familiar people who treat MTs with respect. I actually like working again after a nightmare with the squid as you put it. I will never go back there - they couldn't pay me enough. I'm happy now and feel blessed to enjoy my job again.
Anyone familiar with FutureNet?

Looks like I'll ditch Transcend to sign with FutureNet.  Archives have some good reviews on them whereas Transcend was completely trashed here.

Anyone familiar with DeVenture...
...I read the archived posts, but was wondering if anyone had any recent experience with them.  tia!
Only familiar with one of these -- Transtech

My first question is regarding holidays - how many are you required to work?  There are 6 holidays, but no pay unless you work that holiday.  Required to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas each year, switching out each year, plus work one other of the holidays.  ALL taken off WITHOUT pay.

What about weekends?  I know some companies offer a shift differential IF you WANT to work weekends. Required to work one weekend day each week.  The differential is so little that it is hardly worth it money-wise.

Another question is about PTO - do both TT and MDI offer this benefit?  PTO is offered at a percentage that is approximately 3 hours per pay period.  This is to be used for holidays, sick days, vacations, personal days, and OUT OF WORK DAYS -- ALL time requested off.  NO other time off offered with pay.  In other words, forget taking vacation, getting sick and holidays off all in one year -- NOT ENOUGH TIME OFF WITH PAY --- unless you can afford to be off without pay.

Last question is - are the work hours flexible?  Do both or either require working 8-hour shifts or does either offer a minimum line count per day and then you're done for the day?   No flexibility whatsoever -- as in a window to get work done.  Must adhere to schedule given to them EXACTLY!  You will be contacted by them if you are not on during your scheduled shift hours.  Lines don't matter -- still have to be on your complete scheduled shift no matter if you have 3000 lines done.

Also does MDI lease/rent/provide computer?  TT rents the computer to MT's.

Office staff are generally very friendly and call you honey, sweetie and says you guys rock if that helps in deciding which company to go with.

My..This sounds so familiar...
