offshore to India, it's OFFSHORE (off shore), not outsource to India.
nm
They offshore to India.
MQ is a large company & is most definitely not secure for US MTs. They've already reduced their number of US MTs drastically & are sending more accounts every day to India. Cbay eventually laid off ALL US MT and QA employees. Bigger does not mean more secure. The bottom line is that if a company will stoop to offshoring work to India, they don't care about patient safety or the welfare of their employees. We all have to do what we have to do, and if that means no other choice than working for a company like that, then that's part of it. But there are companies out there who don't offshore, and I feel nothing but resentment for companies that do.
They offshore to India, if that bothers you.

plus I understand they offshore to India...
at least that is what they told me when I interviewed with them a few years ago.
They offshore...not about abuot India, but definitely to the Phillipines....

offshore (out of country) to India ... not outsource.
nm
ad - "multispeciality clinic" - the acct they offshore to India
.
Focus doesn't offshore to India, they are an Indian company
that offshores to the U.S.  They have an office front in MA, I think.
They offshore big time and looking to do more, the pay is

not great, about 8 cpl, but if employee status that is better than most.  I was offered a position but didn't take it because they offshore - that and the pay was less than what I'm making now.  The person I spoke with was a human resources person and knew very little about the MT part of it.

They offshore big time and looking to do more nm

They do not offshore. They pay well and on time.
You are an IC with them. They do have hard accounts, but they have one of the best platforms to work on.
THey offshore big time. That would be all I would need to know to

make a decision.  Our options are diminishing, but in 20+ years of doing MT I have yet to work for a company who offshores.

They offshore big time.nm

Big time offshore.

Do they offshore? Big time.
I posted about a newspaper item here in the Atlanta paper with Transcend (based just outside of Atlanta) did offshoring and the reason they gave was not enough US transcriptionists to get their work done. If you search, this lead into a long thread and probably can find some of the postings.
You'll have too much down time and their Indian techs are IN India! Pay is late, too. nm
s
time to work offshore hours and grab
all you can away from the 'partners,' eh?
Part of your issue may be that your account manager is in India and there is a time zone difference.
It seems like it is just the opposite of us. Day here, night there etc..All I can say ... Good luck!!!
Frequent turnover, offshore big time. Read the archives, lots of info on them. nm

offshore overseas.... not outsource .... correct term is offshore.
nm
This seems to be pro-offshore board. Messages against offshore often just disappear.

India, Michael. The MT world is going to India. Wonder why? nm
!
If the transcribed files go to India, are sent out from India to be transcribed, sm

then the transcribed work is sent BACK to India to be pasted into the GEMS platform and then sent back to the clients in America, how on earth can the company claim to be US-based because its Indian owner has a home in Kentucky?

I'm lookin for part-time work (about 3-4 hrs daily) after 13 years of full-time, anyone know of a
company that is hiring flexible part-time?  I'm starting a career in real estate but don't want to totally quit transcription, but I think most places require 25 hours a week and I cant work weekends, as real estate sales are the biggest on the weekend with open houses and people off work to shows homes to.  If you know of a place I'd sure appreciate the info.  Thanks!
MDI-Maryland is an excellent company, pay on time all the time, great line rate.
I left also because I went out and got my own client(s).
They are very nice people.

The only negative I can think of were the e-mails from the owner say work, work, work, we are out of TAT.

Other than that, which is very minor, it was a good experience.
Not what I was told; 3500/wk part-time & 6000 wk/full-time. nm
nm
Precyse Solutions is hiring part-time and full-time right now.
Saw this on their website.
i work 3 part-time jobs now. it can be confusing if you are learning both at the same time, but sm
other than that not a problem for me. best to get one down before starting to other or you might become overwhelmed.
MDI-MD: What are daily line requirements for full-time/part-time? Thanks! nm
nm
I have one full-time job and 2 part-time jobs. It can be tricky at times, sm
but at least I now have plenty of work always. I have some big financial goals, and right now that seems to be the only way to accomplish it.  I can't see any reason why it would not be legal -- why would you say that?  I am cheating no one, except myself (out of sleep and a social life).  Fortunately, I am single with no children or anything.  I cannot imagine doing this if I had a family.  At least my dogige understands.
I've been there quite a while, pay on time, growth spurt right now, so good time to get on board,
new accounts and lots of work, and before someone says it, I'm not management, just an employee.
per his request I told him Time To Call, he called Not That Time, emailed me
nm
Full time/part time based on # hours or
# lines per pay period, nothing to do with quality. The lower the quality the higher the pay it seems.
Solution: Find another job, part time or full time.
Post your resume, hope for the best.
Depends on how flexible you need to be and if full-time or part-time
They are a little more flexible if you are part-time.  Not so much full-time, where you can be a little flexible within the day (not a strict 8-5), but if you are scheduled for Monday, you have to work Monday unless you request off, and if you are scheduled for a Holiday, you have to work the holiday, unless you request off.  They encourage you to clock out every time you are not typing to keep your lph rate up, which means an 8 hour day can turn into 12 hours at the computer.  If they run out of work (which they do quite often), you have to make the time up.  They are also leaning more towards Voice Recognition, so MTs are getting trained on that, but not sure what percent will go that way.  It does affect how much work you may get though in the other accounts.
They are advertising for full time HIM now, do they still hire part time? nm
x
It will get better, I hope. Too much time on my hands means too much time on ebay! lol nm

DVHP gives vacation time to part-time people. nm

Any companies out there where you do not have to fill in a time sheet or on a time clock?
I would like to do my lines and be done, and still get my benefits.  Any companies out there that go by line production rather than hours to qualify for bennies?
OSi with part time health insurance and paid time off
OSi does offer health insurance and paid time off for part time.  Yes, there have been changes.  Yes, there will probably be more changes.  I don't see anywhere that hasn't had changes.  If they don't change they will be out of business the way the economy is these days, just like some other companies.  If they don't make money, then I don't make money.  So, what is so different with OSi compared to other companies?  I see complaints constantly about all companies.  I don't think it is the fault of the company that they outsource or use voice recognition.  It just is life on life's terms these days.  There is still enough work for us, at least for me.
My thoughts exactly, why waste my time when you know you are only hiring full time? nm
nm
From time to time those paper checks aren't good!
nm
...or from India. nm

so done with india
so done with india.... they can't make it w/o us americans
It all went to INDIA....
Spheris over-hired all right.  All of your work went to India to the Combitore office they opened up.  Look into some websites and you will find it.  Indiadaily. com or something like that.  It talks all about the nice growth they are experiencing in India with the new Spheris office.  They immediately hired like 300 or some MTs.  Now that is going to take a bite out of your work isn't it.  Get out of that place and find a place that is not giving all of our work to India.  Plain and simple!!  Let them have all India workers for a while and when the quality gets so bad and they have to come back to US MTs, well then you should ask for a better rate of pay as well.  Spheris does not deserve to have even 1 good US MT to work for them.  They are biting the hand that feeds them.  As a matter of fact, people should not even use the hospitals that use Spheris as an outsource.  There is more than one way to skin a cat!!
Not ALL of it goes to India.
I do not work there, but I have a friend who does and she works on an account for C-Bay that does not allow the work to go to India.
india

Just wondering, do these MT companies actually give computers in India to those people like they do for their employees in US?  At one point does the Editor know their editing a foreigner's work?  Just a question I had.

India says? Says where?
x
yes to India
/
India
Can it possibly be worth it to these companies by time the pay someone out of the country and then QA. Wouldn't it make more sense to just have an MT who could do the job correctly in the first place! Guess not - since they are all going this route.
India
As the owner of DIT, I can assure you that we most certainly do not outsource to anywhere. All of our work stays in the U.S., always has...always will. We subcontract with MTs all over the U.S.
