Do any companies offer insurance that covers IVF? sm

Does anyone happen to know if any companies offer insurance that covers IVF?  I have been in this business for nearly a decade and have been doing QA for the last 4, but I would take a job right now with just about anyone as long as they offered insurance that covered IVF.  It is so expensive out of pocket, and I really need the coverage.  I have even been considering taking a job out of the transcription industry to get this coverage.  So, I guess if anyone knows anywhere at all I can get this coverage.. please help!!!  I am unfortunately in a state where this coverage is not mandated... so it is very hard to come by... :(

Do any nationals have insurance that covers gastric bypass?
I know it's an odd kinda question but I've worked for 3 different nationals and all 3 did not cover gastric bypass.  I work for MQ now and they do not.

I have insurance through the hospital sm
my hubby works at and the deductible for husband and wife is $4000, $3000 single! So I don't know if the deductibles are getting any better or not with anybody. We have to pay about $400 bucks out of our own pocket for this insurance!

What hospital was it? I want to make sure I don't go there.
There is no subsitute for a dictated and transcribed report. You can't get comprehensive info without it. It takes 38 seconds to dictate a returning patient and 2 minutes for a new patient. How long does it take to point and click 500 times?
I make twice as much as my hospital job
They can keep their on-site jobs.  I always had to pick up all the slack from my lazy co-workers whether that be other MTs, secretaries, techs, and even my supervisor.  I hated working on-site.  Plus, I make twice as much now working production for me!  I work for me now! 
I make twice what I made working at a hospital.
And I even work for MedQuist, no less!

I used to make an hourly rate at a local hospital but s/m

The home-based MTs were on a tiered hourly scale depending on how many minutes we typed daily.  The in-house MTs were not on this scale and I believe they are the reason we lost our jobs to outsourcing.  They made the big bucks and could not even produce 80 minutes of dictation a day.  The home MTs had to produce 100 minutes a day to reach the maximum hourly pay. 


I feel that being paid by production is not such a bad thing because at least the ones who produce get paid for it. 


Curious, can you make more money working for a hospital rather than a clinic?

She called me yesterday and was very hurried about talking with me. Said she was going to send me a packet and I was to look it over and call you yet yesterday.  However, I never received any so-called packet from her to look at.  She was also talking about the amount of GI work there was to do - so I think I'll pass on this one and be glad I did. You wont make any money with them. Expect to get ripped out. The hospital they do work for should...
be ashamed to sent their work to Indian companies like treat their employees like crap. You can bet the hospital pays full price, but once the MTs get their part, it is minimal. Dont go there!!

I left there because of this exact issue. I started having a harder and harder time getting my lines, meaning I got a reduced line rate and had an extra $95-100 on top of that taken out because they didn't pay the employer matching part of the insurance.
There is an announcement coming out on the 13th that will make the insurance sm
more affordable for everyone AND Keystrokes will be contributing a large portion of the premium.

all the other limbs, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, etc.  A HUGE difference. 
It works well when you have a spouse whose tax contribution covers you. nm

401k funds are protected by govt insurance similar to the insurance
that banks have (FDIC). It is safe even if the company goes under.
The insurance cost is double for Transcend but insurance probably doesn't factor in for her.
I have heard more good things about Axolotl than Transcend, although it seems Axolotl may be less flexible with your schedule and someone told me that QA was pretty strict, which should not matter either if you have worked for a hospital and know what your QA score is.
First for hospital, then outsourced still on same hospital work
and believe it or not, the hospital was so much easier. Had worked at the hospital for 11 years before they outsourced and then worked another 3+ years for the company they outsourced to. What a difference! The company had so many rules and regulations you could hardly keep up with them all, thousands of them, on the same account, mind you. The higher ups would not leave you alone, constant IMs about any and all. I have gotten to the age where I do not need all that and walked the other week. Have scheduled testing with another hospital for this month. Hope I make the cut, love the hospital work 1000 times more than a company.
The insurance plan in my opinion is excellent insurance. I am not sure if it will change when it'
time to renew or not. I really hope not but I know that a lot of companies change every year in an effort to keep costs down because most insurance companies start raising rates after you have been with them a year. The insurance is Great West and they also have excellent dental and vision plans. I believe the cost is less than $70 a pay period for the employee.

The insurance seems like they don't want to cover anything, even simple prescriptions I used to pay 4 or 10 dollars on I now pay 20 to 43 dollars.  I like the company/people so far, just don't like the insurance.

MTSO, which MTSO it is and whether the coverage is decent?  I currently pay $92.00 a pay period for decent coverage but am trying to figure out if I am getting a good deal or if I could do better elsewhere.

other company in the last 5 years. Why? Because there is always work for me. I love starting work each day, knowing that the company I work for appreciates me and has plenty of work. Transtech and Keystrokes sound very similar; those of us that work for either can count our blessings that we are not part of the cesspool or huge corporate mess that makes up the biggest few companies. We do not have to worry about our jobs getting sent overseas and we see a future in this business!!!

It would be different if we made the same as the in-house MTs.  In a lot of cases, most of the people working in-house make much more including benefits than we do at home as full-time employees.  That's where I think the unfairness comes in.  The in-house employees don't all work every single weekend.  Most of them rotate at a much higher salary and much better benefits.  The MTs at home are expected to fill in for the in-house for less money, less benefits and give more and more back in the form of weekends and holidays.   Most remote MTs only receive benefits contingent on production, and even then they're not nearly as good as in-house benefits.  How is that equal in the healthcare team perspective?

I make $1.10 per report and make much more sm
than by the line. Day by day it varies and goes back and forth, but over a long period, it is better by the report. Make sure they pay links though; this is key.
Do Shapin MTs really only make 6 cpl and QAs make 1.5 cpl?

Why can't you make money with all OPs? I do all OPs and make
good money.  I'm not with WebMedX though. 
I'm happy with what I make. I still make more than if I went anywhere else and hardly noone in th
biz gives raises so I feel blessed that I make a lot more than most, raise or no raise.
And always make sure you don't make line
counts that amount to anything.  They always place you with impossible ESLs as soon as you start making decent money.

I am so sorry that is happening to you. Are you a single parent?  I know how scary it can be to default on a mortgage. It happened to me back in early 90s before I started work for the hospital I am currently at.  Your supervisor is not a very thorough supervisor. If she checked with most large hospitals, she would see things are done very differently for their at home MTs. My hospital pays for internet connection, provides equipment, and pay is very good. We don't have to do all that extra stuff for HIPPA either. 


Your best bet now would be to try and find a national to work with, but that is scary too.

Sorry. Should have been a little clearer. Looking to meet some other hospital MTs out there. Curious to know... Do you find the same problems with your employer as MTs do with national companies? I have had some may MTs tell me they wouldn't work for hospital, but my hospital doesn't have a third of the problems nationals do. Fortunately for me, my hospital hires within a 3-state radius. For those who are more than 1 hour away, we have conference call meetings.

We use CMT (CequenceMT) and VXP voice. Very user friendly.
