NEGATIVE POSTS...SM
And your post of being tired of complaining and negative posts isn't a complaint in itself?
negative posts
It's always good to know what you're getting into before it's too late. There are companies out there that are not even mentioned on this board and those are the ones to work for!
Negative posts are allowed. (SM)
As long as there is no language or vicious name-calling, etc., positive or negative posts are allowed.

If you are just coming here to cause trouble, however, you probably should post elsewhere.

If you have issues about posting policy, contact the Administrator (admin@mtstars.com).

Goldbird
All the negative posts were removed.

I would have to assume it is because Davis supports mtstars although Davis has never advertised for employment here.  They use the 'other' MT job site.

Pay has never been on a timely schedule and comes late no matter what is said differently.  There have been many instances of bounced checks.  Because of that and problems being able to have work every day, I left there.  The pay scale was just re-vamped so I don't know what kind of money can be made.  That'll have to be answered by someone else.  Maybe with the new payscale payment will be able to be made on a regular, timely schedule.

Things are always changing so who knows?  Maybe it would be a good fit. Good luck.

Response to negative posts

First of all, for all the MTs who have recently been hired and who are no longer with Premier, I apologize for your unhappiness.  I value this industry and the many MTs who have been hired by me for 15 years past.  I also value my clients -- so much that I take the extra step to make sure that the MT is a good fit.  I am embarrased that I fell victim to a scenario that I felt was a benefit to the MTs who have been out in the field looking for a good MT job.  As there are always two sides to every store, here is my side:

Premier Office Technologies, Inc. has been continually growing since its inception in 1991.  The past two years have been super aggressive with referals (thank you all who have participated in making this happen!).  As a result, we signed six new client contracts 29 days into the year 2008 which resulted in my having to hire a minimum of 20 new MTs.  Back in February I posted a job and hired two individuals from that ad.  They are still with me today.  I received an email from a smaller MTSO who offerred to me her staff of MTs and told me to hault my own recruiting, as she would take full responsibility of hiring, training, QA'g, paying, etc. of these MTs.  I trusted her and did that.  She came to me two weeks later and said she was not able to commit to the amount of work that is required to do this.  She, therefore, relinquished these girls to me directly.  I attempted to hire all of them since they were offerred a position with this MTSO and have invested their time with this process.  Unbeknownst to me, I soon learned that none of these MTs ever worked for that company, but were hired for the purposes of working on my  accounts.  They also were not even tested.  I trusted their resume and my own conversations with them.  I was literally given a handful of 13 MTs at one time.  This is something I would have never done on my own.  I do feel that this is where the MTs feel that I was disorganized.  I was merely making an attempt to make sure everyone had a position with a lot of work available to them. This is the number one reason that the MTs are seeking employment in the first place, i.e., that their prior employer did not have enough work to keep them busy.  With all of the best resources that Premier has available, it was very difficult to get each of the 13 MTs installed, trained and up and running on each of thier scheduled requests.  However, those who have made it are happily working and accomplished their goal.  Those who have not, I am sorry that you have found your experience with Premier a not-so-pleasant one.   I have learned a valuable lesson from this scenario and will never agree to this type of hiring practice again.  I am told that this person is recruiting again, so all MTSOs should be aware that this happens. For all of you MTs looking for work, I hope you find what you are looking for.  I am confident that any new MT who is looking for a good MTSO to work as a team player and who understands the ebs and flos of this industry can make a happy marriage with Premier.  For years, Premier has had a very good reputation and plans to keep that trend flowing well into the future.

The only negative posts lately have been from the same person...
hard to say something negative about a company when you don't work there...
many posts about their VR system; mostly negative.
nm
recent posts below are all negative.

I skip up the negative posts - I just figure...
they are people unhappy with thereselves and apparently have no work. If they did, they would'nt be here wasting the space. Thanks for your input. I am sure we will find a good place for her. And I am sure somebody will not be able to help thereselves but to respond negatively to this. I just figure if you are unhappy, go somewhere where are you happy.
The negative posts didn't scare me...
None of them compare to what I've gone through with other companies.  The good far outweighs the bad.
Lots of negative posts if you do a search. nm

They've been around for years and the posts are always negative.

The people who are posting most negative posts
have not worked at Focus in a long time. I work there now and think they are great. I have had no problems. Pay is always on time, nobody bothers me, and I always have plenty of work....only work on 1 account.
With all the negative posts in response to a positive post, I am

surprised that anyone posts anything here.

I do not work for Keystrokes but I like to see what is out there, and the benefits they are offered, if coupled with a decent line rate and steady work load, are better than most I have seen.

Gone are the days of fully-paid pension plans.  Gone are the days of three weeks' vacation.  Employers cannot afford these, and not just in transcription.

If you aren't interested or do not like something, just ignore the post.  You obviously were interested or you would not have read it.

Can't we cut back on the nasty posts on this board?  If it does not concern you, don't criticize.

If you are not looking for a new position, don't gripe about ones that are being offered.  If you are looking and a company's line rates, benefits or perks don't meet your personal requirements, why cut that company down?  Just move on and good luck finding what you are looking for.

I agree with the poster about being mad at the entire industry, but I still love my career choice.  It has been a good fit for me and has allowed me to live a nice lifestyle.

If I wasn't happy, I'd move on to another career.

Might check the archives as I think there were some negative posts a while back. NM

Thanks, Alice, I had read all the negative posts. I just wanted to know if
anyone who worked for them had anything positive to say. The screaming b*@ch responding to this post doesn't realize that people do need to work, but some of us want to weigh all responses. I'm not living life looking through rose-colored glasses. I don't live it, either, by focusing on every negative my mind conjure up, like the whacko responder here. Good grief, talk about needing a life!

Thanks, Alice, doesn't seem anything has improved here as far as Focus.
Seems like you have worked everywhere and have something negative to say about every company out the
a quite a few pages of posts as I have been off the board for a few months and your name pops up with something to say about just about every company.

You must be a wonderful person to work with. I am sure your employers love you and your horrible, the sky is falling, attitude.

Maybe it's time for you to leave transcription and find another field but obviously you hate everything about it. How can you live so miserable all the time?
Maybe search for Cort or CorT..most posts were negative so maybe they were deleted. nm

There were pages of VERY negative posts about them, in the high teen-20s pages on

Why is it that no matter what is said about any company, there is always someone to jump in negative
I was called the day after I put in my resume, hired the next day, working within 2 weeks. I have had a great experience so far with good pay, on time pay, plenty of work and have been treated better than anywhere else I have worked.

Comments like this one made are uncalled for and rude. You have no idea what you are talking about and the nay-sayers are all getting a little out of hand across the board, for all the companies.

Help w/ EditScript and deleting MS Works!
I have done everything I can think of to get MS Works off my computer. It has been uninstalled, registries have been cleared and I ran a search to see if anything was left. Nothing left. But everytime I try to download EditScript it says it is still detecting it! Where could it be? Where is it finding it! I am so frustrated. If you have ANY idea of what to do please let me know!
Are they deleting information on this topic?
Somethings that were posted under here are now gone
And if you do this, deleting the report defeating the purpose
of VR being taught how to do a report so you would just have to keep it up, not a wise thing to do. Delete at 4 cents, type at 4 cents. I would think most places would not be accepting of this practice.
How do you get a hold of Administration

Do not jump on me.  I am trying to ask a legitimate question and would appreciate a correct (not guess) response.  I did look all over the Board and could not find a link.  If I missed it, my bad.  If not, can someone help me, since I do not want to get YELLED at for asking a stupid question about a company.

Requesting Assistance:

How do you get a hold of a Moderator or Administration?

Regarding:

Using the Search For on the Board.

Question:

Are there any parameters that cannot be searched?

Yes, I am using the Search For box to the right of the Post A New Message box, and not the Google Search.

Search for:

What I have found:

When I try to search for companies that commonly go by acronyms (for example OSi or UST), I do not get any hits at all even though I can see that they were just discussed a few inches down the page (I still want to see if there is any other information available from previous posts).  If I search for US Transcription – all the results have the word transcription but not UST or US Transcription.

It seems to me that the search word has to be at least 4 characters or it will not find anything.  Is that correct, or am I just doing something wrong?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

deleting the VR report and typing it anew makes sense
to the MT, if it takes less time to retype it, inspite of getting only 4 cpl.
MTStars administration says time and again...s/m

MT Stars has said time and time again to NEVER correct other posters misspellings and/or incorrect grammar.

Play nicely now, or don't you all know how to follow the rules, which, by the way, are for everyone!

Is this really true? Transolutions administration can you respond?
??
I realize that, I'm still asking for Transolutions Administration to come forward

Big facilities contract out MT through administration. Drs have no say, they dont pay the bill.

I asked for Transolutions Administration to answer this question.

Try to be less negative? There is only negative here. It is a depressing way to start the day but

There are bad posts about every company...

And for most companies, there are also good posts.

There are a couple bad things to really listen to--late/no pay is one of them.  However, most have an opinion based on personal preferences.  Some people don't like OSi (or Spheris, or Medquist, or fill-in-the-blank), and some people do.  It's all based on a personal preference, and that's why many people say again and again that every company is good for some, bad for some.  No one company is going to be perfect for everyone.  The most balanced views acknowledge the good and bad of a company.

I currently work for OSi and have for almost 2 years.  I loved working for them as an MT and hated working as QA.  I am back to part-time MT, and while I'm generally happy and still would and do recommend them to MTs, there are some things I don't like.  Just as I assume there will be some things I will not like about the company I go to next.  But as far as OSi goes, they ALWAYS pay on time, the account coordinators are great, and most of the management are nice and try their best to be accommodating.

The honest truth is that I would not recommend arguing with the QA department, or at least to pick your battles carefully.  However, mostly the QA dept leaves you alone unless you fail a review.  Just don't ever work for QA there... lol  The QA dept is seriously the only bad thing I would say about OSi.  And they're mostly good people, just very inept at QA sometimes.

So all in all, I say OSi is a good place to work.  Despite my personal distaste for the QA dept, they are not terrible and do not really affect your day-to-day work.  I recommend them with all honesty and I think that MOST MTs would find them a good place to work.

They have great accounts, some very good line-makers.  I seldom run out of work, but cannot say that I never run out.  But when I do, I have the choice of going to a secondary account.  I really do like all of the accounts and the sound quality is never a problem (at least for me--and obviously there are times that docs dictate on cell phones that sound as though they are on a motorcycle, going 100 mph).  But the overall sound quality is great, and ExText is my favorite platform thus far. Again, the account coordinators are very good, very friendly, and very easy to talk with.

Lisha

There are also POSITIVE posts about this company!
The owners are not mean.  They are very friendly and caring. The company has a load of work.  They are having pay problems right now, but are working to solve the problem.  They are upfront and honest. One must remember that a poor attitude can affect any nice person.  This "viper pit" of a board is certainly proof of that.
Just because someone posts positives about a company....sm

doesn't mean they're in management, and you're presuming that someone who posts a positive is a manager is pretty ludicrious.  There are plenty of MTs out there happy with their employer... even some folks happy with MQ even with all of the legal problems that company has ongoing.

Unless someone makes a statement about someone in particular at a company that is completely false then there would be no reason for anyone to request a trace to find out who a poster is.  For example, on most internet boards anywhere you can say something like "XYZ company stinks" and be OK, but if you said something like "XYZ's payroll department paid me only a fraction of my earnings and failed to correct the problem" without proof to support your statement then you could be potentially held liable for posting false information.   If you did have proof of in this instance a payroll problem and proof of where it was attempted to be resolved then you'd be safe.

Why is it that when anyone has anything good to say about a company, there are always the posts sm

turn the whole thread ugly.  Then the posts are all removed, and the company looks bad because the good was removed with the bad.  Yes, Keystrokes pays to have an ad on this forum but it is just an advertisement like the ones we have on other medical sites, in magazines, at trade shows and in other publications.

I am going to set the record straight for those who are intersted.  If you are not, ignore the post.

Keystrokes has grown from 5 to over 200 transcriptionists, from $50,000 in revenue to over $5 million dollars in revenue in 8 years, with the majority of the increase in the past 3 years.  This is public knowledge, available on the website, Inc Magazine site, Aspatore books, etc. so there is no reason to delete this.

We have 100% account retention.  We recently declined meeting the price of an offshore company when a few of our radiology accounts went to voice recognition in the same health system.  We chose not to do voice recognition with them by not meeting an outragiously low price.  We do not outsource and stand firm on that regardless of what other do.

Keystrokes has been changing over the past three years, not disputed, but the changes benefit the MTs more than anyone.  Our rates are higher than many (not all) companies, our schedules have some flexibility, our managers are all MTs.

We have caught a lot of grief on this board for various reasons, and a lot of it seems to be from the same few people.  Or from those who talk nonsense.  I truly hope that people reading these negative posts see sour grapes when they read them and understand.  Yes, there are some bitter people out there but they are ones that either did not make it through the initial period, have poor quality, have zero reliability, have made gross patient care errors or have breached HIPAA regulations.  Yes, there has been a turnover, but we have a great team in place and those who work at Keystrokes like/love working there.

We have heard that only a very small percentage of transcriptionists actually visit the MT websites for anything other than the job openings.  A big reason is the pettiness and ugliness that the posts seem to bring out.  Another is time.  A lot of MTs work on computers all day long and want to spend off work time off their computer.

If you have questions about Keystrokes, go to the company for answers.

I defend the company that I work for but have made a promise to myself to stop visiting here and two other sites because they really just take up time that should be spent on other things.  I hate that the bashers will still be bashers and that no one can defend a company (any company) without being attacked.  So the bashers are the only ones that post.  I wish you all the best and rest assured, Keystrokes will continue to grow as a national presence, and will continue to attract customers and MTs and will continue to make both very happy.
