Does anyone have contact information for Fenton Transcription?
re: Fenton
I did a search on this site for you and came up with this link from 2005 - http://forum.mtstars.com/seeker/1/1021,Work_at_Home..html
fenton
I do some part-time work for Fenton and am very happy. One of my good friends also works for Fenton and has so for quite a number of years along with a couple of other MTs.
Fenton Transcription
I also applied with Fenton and have heard nothing!
Fenton Transcripts
Anyone have any info on this company - good, bad, etc?
COBB
I took the test too and thought it was ridiculous. They told me to come back in 6 months, which I never did.
cobb
thanks.  I very much appreciate it.   for now I'm looking for parttime to supplement my full time.  Maybe I should look into it and see if anything has changed!
Fenton Medical Transcription Company?
feedbacks please
cobb transcription
They are a good company, good dictators, and Carole, the owner is wonderful.
Cobb experience
I concur - very good (non-national) company to work for as an IC.  Pay was decent, always on time, and owner friendly and professional to work with.  The only reason I left was for a career change; otherwise, I would have stayed there as long as possible.
Anyone with information on Cobb? Thank you. NM

I work for MDI-MD and have worked part-time for Cobb in the past. sm

It has been about 3 years or so since I worked for Cobb Transcription in Georgia (very nice woman, by the way), so my info may be old, but I'll try to help.

Good dictation quality?

Yes for both MDI-MD and Cobb

Steady work?

MDI:  For the most part, yes.  There have been a few times, but you usually have enough secondary and tertiary accounts to make it through the dry times.

Cobb:  I was doing clinic work -- do not recall any times without work.

What are the work types?

MDI-MD has a few radiology and clinic accounts (I think), but probably the majority of the accounts are acute care.

Cobb may have hospital accounts, but all I did with them was clinic work.

Good platform?

MDI uses Bayscribe -- very easy to use.

Cobb used Word.

Pay rate?

MDI pays better than any other company I have encountered.

Cobb's pay rate is kinda low, as I recall, and it was based on being paid by the character.

Paid for 65 cpl with spaces?

Yes for MDI ... as I mentioned above, Cobb paid by the character.

Do you have a flexible schedule?

Yes to both.  MDI gives you a 24-hour turnaround time to do your work, and I think the same was true with Cobb.

Weekend work mandatory?

MDI:  You are asked to work 2 weekends a month, I think.  I pretty much work every weekend, so not sure about the official rules.

Cobb:  No.

Employee or IC?

MDI:  Statutory employee (they take out FICA, nothing else, so you do not have to pay self-employment tax)

Cobb:  Was IC only

Benefits?

No for both

Low or high volume ESLs?

Probably vaies with the account -- probably average with MDI.

I don't recall any ESLs at Cobb.

Dedicated accounts with the same doctors?

MDI:  You have a primary account and usually a secondary account -- pretty much the same docs.

Cobb:  Yes.

Dialup accepted?

Yes to both, as far as I know.  I have had cable so long, I do not recall.

Good luck with your job search.  Hope this helps.   If you have an offer from MDI, I'd take it -- it is a great place to work!

NEMT, Cobb, Get Back Jack, TransTech (uses ExText) .... nm

Metro Trans.
Metro Transcription from N.J.? Steve, the ownere is an a-hole. Wouldn't work there. There are plenty of other companies out there to work for. Good luck.
Metro Transcription
I know this company. The owner Steve is an idiot and askes 1,000 questions before you even get an interview, then he doesn't hire you anyway.
Metro Transcribing?

Anybody work for or worked for this company?  Any info is appreciated.

TIA!

QT, First Choice, JLG, and Metro Transcribing sm
That is all I know of at this time.
Anyone ever worked for Metro Transcript
nm
Metro is not the same as World Wide
World Wide is located in Yonkers, NY. I have been in their office on many occasions over the past 5 years, and it is by far the most bizarre place I have ever had to deal with in my business. I dread going there. The brother and brother-in-law are literally crazy. The transcriptionists look worn out. Just recently they have set up a new business to offshore to India - so they may be starting to wean out US transcriptionists. I would never say this about anyone because I do understand that reputation is very important, but I honestly have no idea how these guys have held their head above water for almost 10 years. It truly is a bizarre office.
Metro Transcribing in Atlanta, GA

They have a job posting on MT Desk.  Does anyone know anything about them?  TIA!

Anyone work for Metro Transcribing out of Atlanta

I appreciate info on different companies...

There HAS to be SOMETHING to what they say about these companies.  If not, then why so many unhappy MTs?  Like another poster stated, deleting the posts from this forum does not delete it from our memories, and someone will be back on here complaining about the same or new things as long as they are not being heard by the company.  If it bothers ____'s management team so much, then maybe they should listen to their MTs and treat them with the respect that they deserve.  These MTSOs wouldn't be anywhere without its MTs, so why not try and make them happy.  I am so glad we have a forum like this to share our good/bad experiences.  You know the MTSOs can't stand it because they cannot take complete advantage of us, which is what most of the companies I have worked for tried to do to their MTs---as long as they are making their money off the sweat of our backs.  It seems like KS can dish out the misery but can't take it when people start talking about it...just my opinion.  Keep talking and sharing experiences, good and bad.  Maybe this forum and others will force them to do right by us, especially regarding compensation.  We have to work together and try to make the MT profession better.

KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO NO MATTER WHO DOESN'T LIKE IT!!!

Need info on 3 companies please (sm)
Archivus, AllType, and TRX.  Opinions on each please and if not good, please say why.  TIA

eTrans Plus, Hand Sten-Tel, Medical Linguistics Transcription and Consulting, Med-Type LLC, ProScribe, TransHealth, and TransPAT & Associates.

If you know of any other companies in mid-TN region, please let me know.

Cbay?  Nicholas Trans.? Mx Secure? MedLinks? Chronicle? Diskriter? Oracle?  Anyone have any info you could give me regarding any of these?  I am getting overwhelmed with all the different companies and would appreciate any input on these, good or bad.  Thanks!
Need info on 3 companies.
Anyone have recent experience with RI Unlimited, Inc.? I read the posts in the archives, but they’re back in ‘74. I appreciate any info. Also, what about MedQuest, LTS Inc., and C&C Transcription? I’m involved in testing for a job and have tested for all three.

Thanks so much!
