oh no, what is the quota for the day? Please let
us know if it was a mistake, thanks.
QA quota
When I worked at Amphion, we were expected to do 100 reports per 8-hour shift. Most often I did at least 80 which could be a stretch depending on what else was going on so I understand your concern.
OTI gives you a weekly quota. sm
You work when you want during the week. They ask you to commit to one weekend day.

Furthermore, I was on only one account, and worked that same account every day. The work was plentiful. Since I wasn't hopping around on various accounts, I customized everything and made a zillion macros. It was very good for money.

It was the best job I ever worked. I had to leave because I needed benefits.
DSG - QA, line quota, how they pay Qs

Questions for DSG QA folks.  Do they pay per hour or by line?  I heard someone say by the line, but then someone else say they had to give feedback.  I have never worked for someplace that paid you by the line AND expected you to give feedback also.   If it is by the line, do they have a daily quota?

Thanks

cannot make quota

Has anybody out there ever used all accessible shortcuts, typed steadily, and seen after a grueling 8, 9, 10 hours lines equalling approx 77 per hour?    I refuse to think myself as doing something wrong:  Just want to hear from ANYBODY who has done what s/he can, yet finds him/herself always unable to meet productivity.  I am at a crossroads right now so it is a good time to leave transcription, but I cannot believe my forays into at-home land yield the same results:  exhaustion, impossible quotas, and the sneaking suspicion that the nearly-industry-wide policy of not paying for headers is cruel, immoral, and unethical--CONSIDERABLE quality time is spent on getting this info right, and what automatically populates must often be, umm, massaged by our exhausted fingers.  I would love to hear any comments from anybody about how they met productivity.  I would need to increase by almost 100% in order to barely tread water:  I cannot do it.  Just wondering how all you VERY hard-working people survive.  Wish there were an emoticon for throwing in the towel.

can't make quota
I can't make mine, either. A 15-16 minute dication will only yield me about 100 lines. I'm fed up, but scared to death to leave this field and embark on a new career at my age.
Yes I cannot meet my quota
Hope we pick up soon
QA is not a step up. They make less than the MTs and are on quota.
x
Most companies require a certain quota be met
Even as an IC I committed myself to 180 reports a day. I do anywhere from 180-225. I did not sign a contract but did commit to it.
I too made quota immediately
!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for your help, but I don't think I could ever meet the quota needed. sm

I am working all the time editing/fixing and trying to remember all the rules for each account.  I do not see with the way the platform is ever being able to make the amount needed to keep my insurance, and they have already extended my insurance for me before.  I thought when I started doing more editing I might be able to get more lines, but then I would have to do double the lines, and with the way the reports are looking when I see them there is too much fixing to ever get there.  It looks like when the computer does not know what the doctor is saying in plain English it just types whatever it wants.  It is actually amusing how it comes up with a whole sentence of unrelated words.

THANKS! Now as soon as I make my line quota
and can afford something other than thrift stores or Walmart I WILL check them out. LOL

Seriously, thanks for the link. I will keep it.
I work at a hospital and we have a quota of 15 per hour which is 120 per day. nm

SIGNING CONTRACT REPORT QUOTA?

ANYONE SIGN A CONTRACT FOR REQUIRED REPORTS COMPLETED IN A DAY FOR FT?  WORRIED I AM BITING OFF MORE THAN I CAN CHEW!

The problem now is that I have a QUOTA and that is what they're concerned about. nm
,,
No, they did not just raise the minimum at TT. The quota is 5500 per week for FT
and I have not had any problem whatsoever reaching it.

Good luck.
You will not lose benefits for one time missing quota.
Call your ROM or TL, and they will point you in the right direction. I think you have a full three months to make up your quota.

Transcend is a wonderful company. E-mail me if you want further information.
Ok - here ya go. I went from making $1800 per pay period to making just under $900.
Is that significant enough for you? Believe us, we are not just being negative with a grudge or anything like that. This is real! A month later, I was gone from there fast!
MDI-MD hires part-time, and you have a 24-hour window to do your quota. nm

Considering some companies do give a weekly quota, maybe you shouldn't speak

I love my job but I think I lost my insurance benefits. Has anyone else not met the pay period quota
one time and had their insurance taken away? I think it happened to me. I fell short this payperiod on my time ($90) as I was ill for a couple of days and had no PTO time to use. Now, my insurance premiums were not taken out so I am afraid they canceled my insurance, which was the largest reason I have stayed. I needed the good insurance etc..not to mention that I just like working there and my supervisors. I did make more than enough for them to have taken out the premiums so I feel like this was just an excuse to cancel it. Now, if I have to wait another 120 days to qualify again, I will have to end up quitting and that is not a great feeling, but I know I can get a job somewhere else and not have to wait so long to have insurance again. I'm just sickened. I can't believe they would do this in one pay period. I work 7 days a week usually, all hours of the day and night and I just can't grasp they would do this. I have worked there over 2 years. So, do they really do this, for anyone who has had this happen before. Maybe, they are just suspending the insurance this pay period but I don't see how they can stop it one pay period and start it back in 2 weeks on the next pay period. Anyway, stressed out!!!
good grief!
Can y'all take the checks that don't clear to the District Attorney (hot-check department)? Seems like there should be some measure for justice available other than private attorneys.
GOOD GRIEF :(

good grief

Good grief
I made $12.75/hour when I worked for them in 2003. So 3 years later and the starting salary is lower while the cost of living is significantly higher?! I think it's time for me to go back to school and start a new career.
good grief - w2

Good grief!
Now we have MTs trying to talk other MTs into quitting, when it's apparent some just need a small nudge to do so? I'm sure DRC/Acusis will appreciate that. Yeah, right. You're doing the company no favors, you smug fools.

As for the ones who claim they ALWAYS get their keystrokes, I want to know how you're doing this when the work is not there. Are you saying they are holding work especially for you while leaving the rest of us without work? How many hours are you sitting at your computer waiting for work or do you have a life? Bragging that you are getting work when others are not is not helpful or real smart, either.

I'll wait for the company to explain this and hope for the best.

Oh good grief, not again
exaggerations and lies, all the time. Makes me sick.
Grief on rad platform

I have a lot of ESL, but I do OK with it.  When the software works, I make better money than at my last job.  But I left my last job in part because I was not allowed to have a life.  That has suddenly become the case here.  For the last 3 weeks there have been problems with the way our programs interact with the client's.  When nothing is working, they want us to stayed glued to our desks and keep trying to see if it works now.  You never know when it will come back up, and they rarely notify you if it does, because it might work for some and not for others.  This leads to tons of unpaid time trying to work, and never a day off, because your days off are spent scrambling to make up hours.  I have begged for a secondary but so far have been refused because there will be a big backlog when it comes back up.  That would be OK, but then they approve OT and other people take all the work and I'm stuck with no job available as I try to make up hours.  I'm starting to feel doom and dread every time I turn on the computer - will I be able to work, or will I be forced to sit around for hours again today and give up yet another weekend?

Good grief!
Never let it be said that us MTs are mature, reasonable people willing to let the other guy get a break.  Why can't somebody just answer the poor person's question about insurance if they know the answer and if they don't just butt out.  It is none of your business if somebody wants to have IVF. If you want to stop insurance companies from paying for it go write a letter to the Mr. Bush.  He is very concerned that medical services be available only to the rich so he would love to hear from you.
All I can say is - GOOD GRIEF - sm

CHILL OUT

It was a typo - 70% of base rate. I was typing too fast and thinking of something else. I'll stick with the rest of my post, thank you very much!

Good grief...
She was just trying to maybe help some newbie out. Now she knows. Next time someone has a tip they may be afraid to post and someone who could have used it will miss out. OP was told it was a scam and was like oh okay. She didn't defend the company.
MQ has caused more grief
to MTs than any other company on the planet. I personally know two MQ MTs who had to go bankrupt.
Good Grief

Oh here we go...

Yeah, I must be a real loser because I like my job. Imagine that. Maybe you should do a little self reflection if you are choosing to spend your time making pointless comments just to be rude.

Good Grief!

I am sure the moderator will move the word question when it is seen.  It's not like the world is coming to an end if someone posts on the wrong forum.   It's only one question not like they asked questions about an entire report.

Geez go enjoy the 4th of July weekend and chill out.

I don't know about silly, but it is causing OSi grief.
mission accomplished!!
Oh, good grief, where is your mother? lol
Grow up. Must be terribly frustrating, being so infantile.

Use your head, good grief
You should think of payroll as Monday because it IS on Monday. They never claimed you would get paid before Monday. Just because it hits your bank before then does not change the pay date. Mine usually comes in on Saturday afternoon about 5:00. I obviously don't know if it will be different this time or not, but I never count on that. I can't afford to bounce checks, so I do absolutely nothing about paying bills until it is in the bank.
Good grief people....
If I could make a list about all that has gone wrong at MQ within the last 2 years, I would be her forever!!!
Good grief...you need a life

I share your grief over the same company sm
I finally decided that since I need the insurance at this point I will keep a part time job. I have been spending so much of my day waiting on work or stuck in something that doesn't make any money. I think they hire so that everyone can only have their minimum and nothing more. The push for speech is really getting to me, especially since the program is not very good. I keep hearing how I can double my income if I will just move to speech. Hardly. Then again, I am the kind of MT who sets up the document, but once in it I can put my foot on the pedal and rarely take it off. I can type much faster than I can edit a voice document. Add to this that the voice stuff is not actually being edited at all and it looks like what my pup leaves in the yard.

I found a company whose philosophy is that VR is a joke and they won't be going there. I start this week and if I prefer it, I'll find my own insurance and go to work for them full time. Seems if you work full time you don't have to work weekends there.

I was one of those who praised this company and I apologize to all of you. I wish I had kept my mouth shut.
Good grief its just 1 hour more a day

If one more hour a day is really going to kill you, well, I feel bad for you.

I think the entitlement issues I'm seeing here are from long-time employees that are used to having things a certain way, and any change sends them up the wall.  But try to put this in perspective when you look at the chaos that other people are going through at other companies.

Seriously, working 40 hours to get benefits is pretty much universal in all industries.  Its not as unreasonable as y'all are making out.  When we acquired Chartmatrix, its what THEY were working to get benefits.  This is another leveling of the playing field that came with the merger.

I think though, that in this economy we are lucky to have jobs.  If our employer has to do away with a few perks, it beats a layoff or having the company close.  It certainly beats having our insurance become unaffordable.  I have no axe to grind because I still think Webmex is paradise compared to some of the places I've been.

Good grief, take a Xanax.
x
Oh good grief leave her alone. sm
There are some of us, myself included, who don't give a rip whether they send out anything for MT week, contact us about MT week whatever.

Do you really think they are sending out pens, cups, shirts, etc because they really appreciate you? They are doing it because the whiny MTs expect it and they don't want the backlash, that and the fact that THEY get a tax write off for it.

If your self-worth in this business is based on getting a pen or a cup once a year from an MT service, then you have been in the business too long!
Good grief! I am not an MTSO either sm
but why is it any of your business what the MTSO charges? Whatever they charge isn't going to get you any more money. They pay what they pay. Why worry yourself about it.

While I think many MTSOs ARE taking advantage of their MTs, if I wanted to make more money, I would (and you could to) get my own accounts and charge more.

When you hire someone i.e. a plumber, carpenter (example) or whatever to do something for you or buy something from them, do you investigate into what they have paid for their supplies, etc? No different. WHO CARES! Put your energy into something more productive!

What the MTSO charges has nothing to do with whether you are going to be able to pay your bills at the end of the month. All you have to be concerned with is whether you have any work to do or not, just like the rest of us. Also, you don't know whether the equipment is paid off, expenses etc. WHY DO YOU CARE AND WASTE SO MUCH ENERGY WORRYING ABOUT IT? Put your energy into getting an extra job if you need it.
Good grief!! Glad I just sent them
an email telling them I was no longer interested in testing as I will not work for companies that offshore USA work. No wonder the person didn't sign their name. Probably too long to spell! LOL!
Why does it hurt your ears? good grief
:(
Good grief! Not secretive at all, just trying not to be redundant
xxx
that is so childish....don't yell!! good grief.

Oh good grief. A half a cent here or there does
not make you go from barely scraping by to RICH. It helps, but it's not that big of a difference. It's just incentive/bonus. Please get a grip.
