Brown noses = big money makers in our business.

It is being run like a cartel. Management is blind to corrupt supervisors from what I can see.

We did this to ourselves mostly, by allowing leaders to rise up who were not on the MTs side.

Line counting change under your noses
Yep, I have been with a certain company for several years and have always used the same formula using my own calculator to make sure I match their line counting method to make sure I make the $ I want each day.  This formula has worked WITHOUT FAIL for several years.  Two weeks ago it changed.  And not for the better either.  Not a huge difference, but yep, it has definitely changed.  Probably why nobody has noticed, but I definitely do.  This all comes with the upgrade of a certain program.  Not only is there the stress of low/no work, but now the line counting is changing too, suddenly, with the upgrade I assume, or at least pretty suspicious as to the timing of it.  Must have something to do with VR, no doubt.  Double the production!  Then you will never notice the small, teensy eensy drop in your count!  You VR cheerleaders, smarten up!  You are slowly stamping out the true MT who has given the blood, sweat and tears of learning this profession (and knowing what we are worth, and STILL not getting it) with your tireless pep rallies.  You jumped on the band wagon because you think it is the new sweep of the future.  You were too afraid to stay with what you truly believe.  The saying goes, what goes around comes around..you say this is the new technology?  Well geez, what happens next?  I can't wait to see in future years how YOUR job is stamped out only by yet another new technology.  Now I am paranoid that I need to obtain copies of my medical records because it will be like a credit report...make your corrections immediately!  Lol.  To think that anyone would work for half wage of a traditional MT, and please realize you truly do not make any more, if you do you are truly delusional, it makes me realize just how bad the economy really is.  But in the proces, it is going to stamp out a truly wonderful group of people who have a vast knowledge of MT and who have depended on this knowledge for God knows how many years.  Yes, it is truly a sorry situation.  I am spending every free minute of each day (and no that is not hardly anything since I am spending most of my free minutes waiting on a job) looking at other professions.  The MT profession is dead, and don't be fooled that VR is a profession, you in years to come will be history too....technology!  Remember?  Yeah....  Geez I feel better now.  Oh, and forget your hateful replies to me.  It won't change a thing.
Do you feel better now? !! Business is business, most of it should be confidential. Why post on a

Amherst so we make less money and they get more money for MQ and bigger bonuses. Our guidelines came
from Amherst.
The company takes the money out of your salary, before they cut the check. It is your earned money,

You must have a really brown nose then
That woman wasn't nice to anyone unless there was something in it for her.
If I was such a brown nose,
I would not have been forced to quit. Trust me, I was NOT one of their favorites! :)
Brown & Meyers Anyone?

Does anyone have any comments/experience with Brown & Meyers - good or bad. I would love to hear about this company. I have been offered a position, but do not have much info on them. Thanks.

Brown & Meyers
I have been with Brown & Meyers for almost two years and it has been a great experience. I do not have to work a specific shift, have been given a raise when I asked after a year and am never bothered with phone calls, e-mail, etc. They are very personable, helpful and willing to give me any accounts I may ask for. They use the Sten-Tel platform, which probably isn't the greatest, but it is easy and works for me. I have never had a problem with paychecks- always correct and on time. I would definitely recommend looking into working for them.
brown & meyers anyone?
has anyone worked for them or know of them?
I like Brown & Meyers
They are very nice and communicative.  IC position.  Very happy.
Brown Nosers....exactly
You just hit the nail on the head! Why else would she be on here? Brown nosing to show her management how she does a great job in defending the company.

If she is typing for her own accounts on top of account management duties, she must be short MTs. Hmmm, maybe some of the MTs are starting to see the light.

I use to work for CyMed/SPi as well. It is a joke that all of the brown nosers seem to still stay around; and the ones that speak their mind are let go or pushed out.
Brown & Meyers
You spelled that incorrectly but yes, I have heard the same thing.  I wouldn't work for them for any amount of money.
brown & meyers
i worked four weeks for them. tech was nice, but the training sucked. uploading/downloading was a pain. they told me i would be busy busy but i sat around waiting for work. pay was 8 cents a line. if u wanted them to edit your work, they deducted it from your pay.

Love it, brown something perhaps?

Does anyone know anything about this company, pay, workflow, platform, etc.?  Thanks for any and all info.
Your nose is brown.

So does yours. Perhaps you need a basic money class to learn to keep money. sm
I am off today and appalled at reading the posts on here.

Are you always this bitter? Do you have a family and friends who are safe and healthy? Count your blessings instead of being so angry and you might see that this is not a bad field to be in. It has kept food on my table for 27 years and will continue to do so. Is it harder now? You bet, but it is not impossible to make a good living of $50,000. You just have to work hard, give it your all and appreciate the good companies that are out there.

If I were an MTSO, I would find out who all these people posting such bitter posts are and find replacements for them a.s.a.p. Negativity spreads like poison, and with the world in the state it is, we should bond together not make it worse.
Money is not the root of all evil, the LOVE of money is. nm

You sound like the brown noser that

Your head is so far up her butt you look like her!

John Brown is just playing with you.
He said, NOT OFFERING A JOB.
Trying to build his business? He's been in business over 15 years!!!!!! sm
I also had a hard time, nearly impossible actually, getting paid. The owner does this on the side; he is very involved with other things.
You've got brown stuff on your nose -
you know they monitor this board constantly!  You talk to them all the time about it.  Let's see how long it takes you to relay this posting.
Doesn't sound like a brown nose to me...
but rather a very grateful employee. This board is very discouraging to me. A lot of whiners who are not good medical transcriptionists and then turn it around to make the company they worked for look bad. Actually, it can be quite entertaining when I am bored.
Yes, you are someone, You are one of their token US employees. Hey, what is that brown spot

or if you're not related you could brown nose your way

Anyone hear of Brown & Meyers in Maine?
Any info would be great.  Thanks!
Hmmm-methinks your nose is brown.

I hope you are right. I'm sure Brown at FEMA thought the same thing.
Remember the Boy Scouts' motto: "Always be prepared."

Holy Brown Stuff. Is that reliable info? (nm)

If you don't know what is confidential, you have no business being in any business.
This is confidential information and should not be divulged. It is one of the biggest problems a co can have. If you have to ask...well I won't be able to explain it to you
Are they still in business?
Were you currently working for him?
It's really none of my business because I
don't work for MQ, but it looks to me like they need some kind of formal verfication for whatever reason that you received the letter. Perhaps to prevent any future actions on your part by stating you already had received notification in the form of a letter? Do you know if the phone call was recorded or not? Maybe I'm just being paranoid, but this sounds so awfully underhanded and sneaky to me.
It is none of their business (sm)

and there are certain questions they are not supposed to ask employees.  What other ways can they invade your privacy?  I would look elsewhere.

OSi has not been in business for 10 yrs. Who are you trying to

This is about all she does to run a business.

Business 101 sm
You are supposed to have a budget set up for payroll and taxes ahead of time. Every other week is the norm in regular business. Companies penalizing ICs or employees because they have lousy contract terms with an account is unethical.
This business. sm

Duh!  I guess I don't.  Just supported 2 children all by myself until they left for college with my MT wages.  Nope, sure don't know anything about this business which has kept me employed for 25 years.

I don't have to know what Andrews is, I learned the right way - on the job.

Ya know, I have been in the business as
long as you have and worked in every aspect of MT including management and the slackers do exist, but they exist from any country. That's just an excuse for outsourcing or low pay. If you have slackers, get rid of them and leave the ones who work hard alone, but pay them a decent wage.

This kind of bull just literally makes me ill to read and it justifies nothing.

Just wanting some opinions about what people think of companies that have been around for 5 years and how to weigh the pros and cons to leave a company if the one that has been around less would pay better?  thanx!
