I started 2 weeks to the day. I would call the office direct if I were you. sm
That does not sound right. Maybe the person you are working with dropped the ball. I would call the office. They are there until 5:30 or later on Fridays. (630)553-3680. This is not private info. It is on their ad.
Yes, they offer I think 4 weeks at full pay or 8 weeks at half pay. Call the office
and talk to them about it. You wont lose your job. They aren't like that.

I needed to get a physical and go through orientation at the hospital which is only given two times per month. This is a 900-bed hospital, so it cannot be an unusual process. MQ took 2 weeks. KS took 1 week. SoftScript never got me started even after repeated calls and emails.

I have only been with KS for 9 months but would never put them in the same catagory as the others you mentioned. They are the best company I have worked for, and unfortunately, I have bounced around a little in the last 5 years.

Every 2 weeks is twice a month :)
nm
HUH? twice a month IS every 2 weeks nm
.
Hired 2 weeks ago and still
wondering why
6,000 lines for 2 weeks when hired
Did Medquist tell you this?? They may give you the line count that you asked for, but is it all ESL physicians??? It will be impossible for you to get 6,000 lines in two weeks, if you have all ESL dictations. Think about it.

Once I was hired, it took me several weeks to get working with them! nm
s
I was hired 1 month ago at 10.75 cpl. Yes they do pay 10 cpl or above. nm

Go for it!! I started 3 weeks ago. (sm)
They have a super training team. You get an immediate reply when you send an email to ANYONE at Medware. They are a great bunch of people and very helpful. Bonnie (recruiter) has always been there for me and I am on a team with a great Team Leader and Lead Transcriptionist.

I am on the Merit side and love it. It is an excellent program and soooo MT friendly!!
started new job 3 weeks ago
Left a job which had become very stressful and nonproductive for a company that I saw good things about on this board. I didn't see an ad, but apparently they were in the middle of hiring. I do a hem/onc account, 2nd shift. . It's VR but much better VR than I have ever seen. Good dictators.  I also have backup accounts. The people are nice and I look forward to going to work. No stress. I am not bombarded with e-mails while working.  I also have a PT job which I've had for 3 years, never had any problems with them.  Might want to work in another field one day but for now I think I'm in a good place.
Hired over a month ago.... no work yet
Hired and then a month later trained and then weeks later NOTHIng.  wHAT THE HECK IS going on????  i'm losing my mind here.
I started 2 weeks ago with Transcend

At first I was totally frustrated, and ready to quit.  Now I am finally getting used to their program and it is flying.  Plenty of work.  Dictators are a mix depending on your account. They told me to cover the hours I committed to, but if I need to make extra, just do it.  I think that is pretty flexible.  I had to change my schedule the first week and no problem, just called and was told okay.  Not so bad. I may end up liking this.  Just depends on if I can get enough lines.  We will see.

I started 3 weeks ago, was on 3 days.

Started 2 weeks ago at Medware
Very happy.  I really like the system and my trainer has been great.  Call and email and IM and whatever I ask is answered, feedback is instant and you can pull samples on-line.  Great system.  Got an email yesterday about a recruiter moving on to another job, but that will not effect much, just hire another recruiter I guess.  They have several.  Go for it, you will be happy.
Not true. I started at 9 cpl two weeks ago. sm
I think it depends on the account, your experience and the shift and there is a raise at 90 days of 1/2 cpl.
Just started with Etrans about 2 weeks ago. So
far so good.
I just started at MDI a month ago

and my supervisor suggested to me that I start out about 300-400 lpd and then gradually increase by 50 lines every other day.  I guess it depends on your supervisor, but I would think they would allow this company-wide.  In my short experience, MDI has been a wonderful company to work for.

You might want to make note that if you haven't gone Flex with MQ yet, you won't be able to do so until the 16th of the following month.  It doesn't take effect immediately.  The minimum for MQ Flex is 2000 lines per week, so over the course of 5 days that's only 400 lpd = 2 hours per day at the most with the Q.  That shouldn't be too hard for you to manage while doing 700 lpd with MDI.

As for how long it takes to get lines in on Bayscribe versus DQS, I really don't notice since I don't punch a clock with MDI.  I no longer worry about my lph or how many hours I'm working.  I just work at it in little chunks throughout the day.

Good luck at MDI - I can't wait to get out of the Q, but like you, I want to hang onto it for a little while yet.

I just started with OSI a month ago.
So far they've been great.  Everybody is really nice.  Plenty of work.  Decent account, some ESL's, but not any worse than normal.  I have 20 years experience and was a CMT (until I decided it wasn't worth it).  I would say give them a try.  I don't know what you've read in the archieves, but when I was looking, they seemed to be one of the ones with fewer negative comments than some of the others.  Good luck.
I started with them a month ago

The account I'm on is an acute care account and because I work at night I have more facilities feeding in to me than day time people, so that part gets a little tough.  Plus, 90% of what I do are ESL docs.......that gets old.

QA is wonderful and helpful to work with, but they are VERY particular.  The only thing I don't like about the platform is you can't go in and look at what they've change in your reports. You're completely dependent upon QA giving you feedback -which they are very good about doing, but I still like to see the reports and what has been changed or not.  It's just what I'm used to..

It's a good company.  The people are nice and very communicative.  I am struggling with my accuracy percentage and getting my lines, but a lot of it is that I'm fairly new to this particular type of care and there are a lot of terms, drugs, and bacteria that I have to look up.

They started me at a decent line rate and I have had two checks so far and the lines that they paid me for were spot on with what I had kept track of.

I started a little over a month ago and
it's ok I guess.  The only thing I don't like is the formatting rules.  They train you one way and then you get emails telling you you're doing it wrong by others so that's a little confusing for me right now.  The platform isn't that bad but it's nothing fancy either.  I'm going to give it a full 90 days before I make a real decision if this is the company for me or not.
I just started within the last month or so with TT VR...
I had done VR for another company a few years ago, and I enjoy it as it is a nice break, so training for VR at TT was a breeze. I was up to speed within a day or so, but with the change to a majority of VR that I now get on my accts and low work or no work every day, I would say my pay has been cut in half approximately. I have 2 accts. There is just no work anymore. They say they are getting new accts, but not sure how that will help my accts have more work. I hope that helps.
I didn't HEAR of it being over $500 each month..I see it taken out of my check every 2 weeks..(sm
$254 each pay period.  I honestly hope you're right that the final paperwork was signed last Friday because I had decided to have it discontinued after the March 15 paycheck and either look on my own or go without coverage for a while until I find a more reasonable plan.  The insurance itself is great but too high.  I can't imagine how you are paying only $184 per month and I have been paying over $500 since December 2006 for single coverage!
I'm glad for you. I couldn't have waited the month to 6 weeks or whatever sm

that y'all went through.  I'd be homeless.

I hope your work flow continues to remain steady.  I know how scary that can be when the work dries up.  I have gotten so paranoid, I always work 2 and sometimes 3 jobs, just to make sure I am covered.  There is not a big enough cushion yet so that I feel comfortable the wolf will not be at my door.

Again, congrats -- I'm sure you are relieved.

I was told 6000 lines for 2 weeks when I hired
in as an SE 6 weeks ago.

I applied a month ago, they hired me, said they would send
me the paperwork, but never did, so I took another job.  Even the interviews were confusing, so I may be lucky.
I hired on a month ago and was told there was no choice sm

but to use their computer.  I do not object to the deposit, and, like you, I think it is reasonable since they are supplying their equipment to a stranger.  I would MUCH prefer to use my computer to the computer they sent me.

As far as WMX being the best company ever, your experience must be better than mine.  So far, I have experienced an account with VERY poor sound quality, running out of work during my scheduled time, requests for a secondary account ignored, and emails ignored by the team manager.  Fortunately, I am only working part-time, so it is just a minor irritation while I look for something else.

Everyone's experience with a company is unique, and I am glad that yours is a positive one.  Sorry that I cannot say the same.

I got my first check within 2 weeks when I started last February
I never had to wait a month.
I started with them 3 weeks ago, after working out my notice with MW. sm
I have had a lot of work, love the account and have no complaints at all. It was hard the first few days to get used to a new system and dictators, but I am at 1500 lines a day now with no problem. I had no problem with paperwork, although the hospital took almost to down to the wire to get my ID ready. Best move I ever made!
Depends on what they have available. I started a month ago with a
:-)
Clarifying, I started the first day of the month
which made it worse as far as the wait on that first paycheck, but I think no one should have to wait as long as they make you wait. I believe it is one pay period. Is that right KS MT? I guess the later you start in the pay period, the less long it seems to be though it to me was still too long.
be very wary. I started a month ago with sm
a company that had an account for at least six months. All of a sudden it dwindled to nothing. I questioned nad questioned and they didn't know anything but were going to check into it. All of a sudden I get an e-mail, out of the blue that said effectively immedatiely we would no longer be doing this account.

It could be the move with your doctors, but just keep your eyes open. These docs still need their work done and why would they let it back up like that without making some arrangements?
I started about 10 days after being hired
But I had to wait for them to ship me the equipment and get my DSL installed.  I think they always start you out on a Monday.  Welcome!
You will be hired fast and then wait weeks or months for work...SM
You may be asked to invest in expensive equipment, likely to run out of work regularly and not have your calls returned when you try to contact them. They do pay well but the work is NOT there more than it is, so great pay doesn't mean much. They sell it to you great but they don't deliver.
I wanted to work for Keystrokes but she hired me a month ago
and then never followed through. I think that they are a great company, at least the friends I have that work there think so, but it seems that hiring is their weak spot. I should apply for that. I am organized and would never let someone slip through the cracks. I am going to call their office on Monday to be the squeaky wheel.
I work part time, got hired last month. nm

I started 3 days after being hired by Keystrokes and have been there since
June. I love my account and have no complaints.
Thanks for the heads up. I was hired by a national 1 month ago. I am still waiting to finish
training so I can start working.  These companies make you wait 2 months?  That is incredible!  Grrrrrrrrrr.
It took nearly a month after I passed the test before I started with Diskriter! SM

I was referred by a friend.  I spoke with the HR person, took the test, and was told I passed with flying colors.  I was told that a job offer was merely a formality and that I should go ahead and give two weeks notice at my other job which I did.  I then waited a week before I actually got an official job offer.  Then I was sent the paperwork.  It was unbelievable!  I had to have a physical exam by my physician and have him fill out their questionaire.  I had to find a drug testting facility on my own and do a drug test.  I had to have a TB test AND they wanted a chest x-ray as part of my physical exam.  Then there was the background check and reference check.  You would have thought I was going to work for the CIA and required high security clearance or something.  Then I was told there was a problem with my references.  They had asked me for two professional and two personal references which I gave them.  They called my personal references and asked them if I was a good Transcriptionist and a good employee.  Diskriter told me that none of my references were valid because no one had actually worked with me.  Then I had to clarify that they had called my personal references and if they would simply call the professional references, the would get the answers they were looking for!  It took them three more days to get it straight.

Finally, I was so fed up, I told them I refused to get a chest x-ray and I thought all of this was insane for a simple at-home job.  I was so upset because I had gone two weeks without earning any kind of paycheck while I waited for them to check how frequently I go to the bathroom!  I felt like a show dog jumping through every single hoop for a job that ended up being not worth it at all.

I feel for ya and all I can say is they weren't a bad company to work for, I just had an incompetent supervisor with very poor communicating skills.

Good luck!

I started there about a month ago. My two accts are good. Not sure on the switching nm

Just started it last month. It is nice and easy to learn
as long as you have experience with ExText or ExSpeech....All the things I thought were flukey with ExSpeech have now been corrected in EX Editor. You will enjoy it.
No this is not true. I got hired in December and started 3 days later. sm
I am glad I made the move.
Call your supervisor and tell them you're giving two weeks
notice if they need it.
Well, give a call to the person who hired you and
negotiate a higher line rate. You should have not problem since you already started and they know what kind of work you can do.
I have been there almost a year. You should call if you had a problem. I bet Karen hired you. sm
She's gone and I know she took all the files and did not return them but destroyed them, just being her pleasant self.
Newly hired by CardioScribes and eager to get started. Any current employees care to
post about your experience there? How long until you met production? Platform? Pay? Team spirit? Dictators? Just any info/opinion would be greatly appreciated. The software has been installed on my computer and I am really ready to get in there and get started. Just waiting for training.
I know which account this is that started this week. I would call tomorrow. sm
The IDs were sent back from the hospital but only one part of them. I have been on the account for 2 days and it is great. HBO Star and lots of volume and good dictators except one or two. Call and ask if the IDs are ready. There are a bunch of new accounts starting at the same time. They pulled me from my primary to help until the other IDs are in, so they are definitely needing you on there. You will love the KS rad department; I have been with them for 4 years and every year it gets better!
In REPLY TO: What do you call 6.5 cents?? - Geeze, when I started out 15 years ago, I made 8 c
6.5 was the offer for one place and the second offer was 9 cents. I chose the second offer :). Rough out there indeed! There are even places paying per report now... I saw 75 cents, $1.10, $1.15 and $1.25. Ain't good for Rad.
I just quit Medquist, hired by Etrans and quit them after one afternoon during the last two weeks!sm
Medquist made me buy a new computer to go to the "Docuscribe" system that was so much better than cottage.  When I got there I took a real big pay cut to the tune of probably 30 to 40%.  I was getting paid gross lines doing Cedars-Sinai operative reports.  I asked for more per line and my supervisor just laughed and said you think were going to pay you $0.12 a line to just do operative reports!  I said I quit.  I should have said F you and your mamma too:(  I had been there all together 7 years through buyouts.  I am just sick of it all.  I'm going to go sew my daughter a cute little Halloween outfit right now.
