AND based on the wording and the
number of years (3) claimed to have worked for this pitiful company.....there must be only one person taking up for them. How sad.  If you have been following the board for the past few weeks, you are surely aware of the current employees who have went to the feds over the wrong doings of this company.  LOL!!!
The fact that she gave you a check shows that she
is really in trouble and does not have the intention to swindle you out of your money.
Do not approach the client, this swill lead to nothing. The client is not respopnsible to pay you. Talk to her and ask her how long it will soonest take until she can pay. As she goes through a divorce, she should give you a deadline, in a timely manner, when you can cash the check. If she defaults on this date, then take the bounced check to the police.
Another option: If she tells you that it will take a rather long time until she can pay you, then ask for interests on this amount, or you hand it over to the police.
received my check this a.m. via FedEx.

I just received my check & it was on time

I also received a check from them for lines not counted, but this was
7 or 8 years ago and mine just was not set right. It was not any big deal, my supervisor (who was a good friend) told me that it was not on purpose, just I was running an old program.
Have worked for them 8 weeks, haven't received a check yet. -nm

Need to know the wording. Non-compete does not mean you ....

cannot work for another company.  It usually means you cannot actively persue work from any of their accounts.  They don't care about other MTSOs or if you have an accout of your own.  This is especially true if it is IC.

You need to read it over again.  Non-compete isn't about your time...its about their clients.......

Here's the exact wording
It goes without saying it's not M-F nor is it 9-5. The exact wording for the hours is: You must be able to work for an 8 hour shift (either straight through, with a break for lunch, or in a split shift, wherein the splits are well defined)or a 4 hour shift if part time. This is not a position wherein you can work in a casual fashion. Then we describe the work: ...has a heavy population of ESL dictators, so you must be comfortable with transcribing dictators from different dialects. And the wage: Incentive based program starting at $0.08 per 65/char line with spaces.

All while being called an IC. I wish them a lot of luck filling those positions. If someone wants to type all ESLs with a non-flexible schedule, they might as well go the full employee route and at least get your social security paid and be eligible for benefits.
Might be SoftScript. Wording is similar to an ad elsewhere and they did post Anon. here before. nm

Poor choice of wording - not management, new director.

KornFerry International
So many companies, especially the larger ones, have multinational ties these days that we had better get used to this sort of thing.  If the larger company they represent has its major shareholders in Belgium then their head hunting begins to make sense for that particular and probably other companies.  Their website mentions management level but that is all negotiable don't you think??
Scryptions International
Anyone ever hear of this company ? If so, any info would be helpful.
Scoping Careers International

Is anyone familiar with a company called Scoping Careers International?  I came across this on mtjobs.com and it says you will edit legal documents?  Wondering if it is legit???

Scryptions International (never heard of it)

International Jobs/Contracting
Are there any companies in the U.S. or Canada that use MT's from outside North America? I'm Canadian but live part time in Costa Rica. I have an office with wired high speed internet and a land phone line so there should be no problems with communication.

Wavescribe International, Corp. - anyone ever work for them - sm

Anyone know anything about this place?

Does anyone have any info on Scryptions International in Nevada? SM
Archived but have found nothing.  Thank you!!!
Work for MQ and would rather share with you all than our ILP (international labor partners). sm
Actually I bet after seeing this on here a lot of MQers will be trying to get on at DSG. We both use Docuscribe and that is certainly a plus IMO.
Anything Global or International prolly involves India or Philippines. nm

Anybody ever heard of Trendprior International Clothing E-trading? They sent me an e-mail saying
they had reviewed my resume. I would bet it is a scam.

Just shows that there are those they like and those they don't like.
So some will get a card, some will get a gift card, and some will get nothing. Just depends what group you fall in - same with getting good accounts and bad accounts. I wanna be that lucky person who is getting 2000 lines an hour on editing when the rest of us are getting around 150-200.
shows us who you really are

Your post is so demeaning to prospective MTs.  People don't just come to this board to complain, they come to check on prospective employers because this is the only way to make sure you are doing what you are supposed to be doing.  We don't know anything about a company until we research it.  I was supposed to start training with SS in a few weeks, but I have decided that there is no way I will work for SS after this big mess.

I could almost guarantee you only decided to fix the problem when more MTs started showing up demanding answers.  If you LOVE giving MTs work and helping them take care of their families then why do you offer them slave wages until they can provide proof that other MTSO are more generous than you are.  What do you think about them apples!!!  How mature of you.

Which shows what happens if MTs don't stand up for
.
When you Google them nothing shows up
x
It shows they know the MT community is onto
less-than-ethical business and employment practices. They want to shut you and all of us up so that we'll go back to our bedrooms and our pink fuzzy slippers, and just keep quietly getting screwed by them. It word were to get out, (say on Oprah perhaps?) they'll all have a LOT of 'splainin' to do. I for one would enjoy watching them all squirm.
in the last month it shows.

I loved that show (my age shows, too!)
Actually, I see the (self-proclaimed, of course) 'upper crust' more as the MAN on the Green Acres show. In the beginning, he's the one who APPEARED smarter, and who decided to get himself farm. (Not unlike some CEOs who decided to 'buy themselves an MT company...). His boa-wearing wife appeared to be the most unlikely candidate for success on the farm. But in the end, she was happy and successful because she was FLEXIBLE and learned the ways of that offbeat community and funky house (remember how careful she had to be when plugging in household appliances? Some were a '2', some were a '3', etc., and too big a number blew the electrical fuse. The hubby just never caught on.) The husband was never able to cut it, or truly be happy, because he was too RIGID. He expected things to work the way they did in New York, even though this was Hooterville, with its own unique sets of problems and ways of doing things. He was always annoyed and ranting, and his wife happily went about living with their pet pig and the other animals, the quirky house and the quirky town, because she ADAPTED, and she could COMMUNICATE without yelling at people.

I think the top brass at all MTSO companies should rent all the old Green Acres shows they can, and show them at their big fancy meetings. They could learn a lot from Hooterville's favorite, foofy, boa-wearing farmer.
I agree, sad. It shows how little the average MT

I rest my case. Once again OSi shows how dishonest they are.
This makes me ashamed that I once worked for them, but also makes me glad that I work for a decent, honest company now and do not have to be a part of their BS!!
Can? Well, maybe. Statistics shows the average is much lower. nm

The last line just shows my loyalty and dedication (sm)
to my current employer, but desire to stay in the field of MT via a national company should my previous position not be offered when I return.
I guess it shows how messaging fails even
a messageboard veteran, because I wasn't in the least angry; I just dispute the need to remove all emotion from my life as a preventative measure.  I totally agree with doing one's own research and being aware of what's going on in the industry, I just don't think I have to cut off my better emotions to do it, because, for me at least, therein lies cynicism and I've BTDT and that's not the path I want to walk again.  Otherwise ITA with most of what you say in both your messages.
Since the apostrophy shows possession, doesn't ...
saying Crohn's disease imply the disease belongs to this guy? If so, that would be incorrect since the disease doesn't belong to him it's just named after him. I think that's the point of leaving the apostropy out, i.e., to avoid implying the disease belongs to a specific person as opposed to the disease just bearing that person's name.
