Rothman Institute hires in-house, sm
Temple may have some in-house in radiology. Diskriter has Thomas Jefferson account and I think MQ has HUP or HUP may contract to a few companies. I am not sure. CHOP is outsourced also as well as Hahnemann and Fox Chase. Albert Einstein has a few in-house positions.

Your best bet is to call them and find out.

I do know Rothman Institute for sure has in-house as they offered me a position a few weeks ago.

Christiana Care in Delaware also hires in-house.
My guess is that many in-house radiology MTs are being sent home
I suppose it is either they are changing companies they are working with and the new companies need staffing or radiology departments with on site MTs are now outsourcing.

I wonder how MDI is to work for.
Cooper uses on site MTs. NM

Do you work in-house here? I applied last August & was told in-house only and they weren't

Anyone tried the ESL opening at Transhealth? sm
Curious as to how difficult it is.
Apply anyway. That way if they do have an opening come up
for days, they will have you in their database and the test will have already been taken. It couldn't hurt to try. I have a friend who just was hired to do ops there. Their rate is very good. Their application asks the times you are available and because you don't find MTs that like ops that often, I am sure they will be able to fit you in at some point. I would go for it. I hear they are a really nice company to work for.
Webmedx just had an opening for QA. sm
I justed interviewed with them about a week and a half ago for QA position, but turned it down because of the pay. Maybe they haven't filled it yet and since you can no longer transcribe, this might be an option for you.

Same here. No issues opening them.

Again, VR is opening up that can of worms.
I answered on the other board, but mine was not moved so am reposting. As far as VR, I love it, others dislike it, even saying the hate word. I can make $20 and up per hour on the platform I use. From what I read here, some are not so lucky to have a very good system and it slows them down to where their pay has been cut to a large degree. I love escription, have used it now for about 4 years and really hate to straight type anymore. I find the ESLs, at least where I work, are so much easier with VR than having to sort through what they are trying to say. I will say how a system is trained and who works on it has all to do with what kind of reports you have. You could have almost perfect reports with a good system that has learned well and then you could get a clunker with loads on teaching the machine various ways and that is where the problem lies with VR.
Opening up that can of worms, once more
I stayed with a job that went to VR but not for 3 cpl. That is really low and I hate it is coming down to this at so many places. My straight pay is 8 cpl. Escription is a really good system. You will find all kinds of answers on here back and forth. This will never be settled, seems like. Some love, others despise. Some have good systems, others not so good. From just what I gathered reading MQ site, I don't think their platform was that good as many talked about how it always had same errors and never seemed to be different. I have been accused of being software promoter but like you and others I do MTing but just happen to like my job and VR.

Anyone having trouble opening posts?
sm
Let me get this straight. You were angry because they did not have an opening on the account that y
were they supposed to do, remove a current employee to make room for you? They can only hire for accounts that have openings. I don't think they were unwilling to work with you, as you think, but maybe that's all they had open at the time.
That's exactly what I told my BF last night, opening the boxes...
I'm in CA and it took 4 days FedEx ground from TX. Maybe yours will come even sooner. I'm waiting for the tech to call me as I write this so my email, etc., can be set up and then my training date/time scheduled.

Congrats to BOTH of us :-)
Some slice Indian businessman will be opening up his own MTSO
of the U.S. CEO. Then the real money is going to be saved. Don't MTSOs see this?
MODERATOR why is this company allowed to post a job opening here
when it's an offshore company???  They are looking for in-house MTs, and they are located in Pakistan...
Keystrokes has the best radiology accounts IMO. I have plenty of work and radiology only. nm
I make a good living and rarely run out of work. When I do, it is for a few minutes at a time and usually because the rads have not started early enough. No other complaints!
Their last job opening on the other board isn't dated. They were using Vianeta &Arrendale? soft
s
I tested and passed Med-Tech, interviewed and was told they had opening- but I guess

I made the mistake of typing the name IC as "individual" contractor, and the recruiter e-mailed me back with the corrected "independent" contractor, and later sent an e-mail and said they were not hiring and that if anything should become available, they would contact me.  I have since found that they have hired since that time, but no one ever contacted me again.  I figure it was "their loss", not bragging or boasting, but I know I would have been an asset to the company.  IMO

They seem to be a pretty together company though.  I occasionally go to their website and read their quarterly "whatever you call it," and they always have interesting information in their for transcriptionists, and about the company, and the QA standards and goals.   I would love to have worked there.   I hear they have good benefits too.

Keystrokes for radiology. They are the biggest for radiology out of all of the companies out there.
I have been there 2 years and have been very happy. I make a lot more money than when I worked for Edix/Spheris.
I looked facility up on line - checked careers and found they had a current opening for MT there. (
That pretty much told me they did have inhouse. It was an MT position for acute care, not just one of the ancillary departments.

Keystrokes has a radiology division. They used to be radiology only but their sm
customers started referring other departments to them.

I know that they just got a bunch of new accounts!
For radiology, Keystrokes is the way to go. They seem to have the most radiology accounts. sm
I have been very, very busy since starting with them 19 months ago. No complaints at all other than one or two of the radiologists who speak at the speed of light and expect us to be able to transcribe what sounds to be a mouse on a treadmill!
If radiology is going to VR, why are there so many job openings for radiology MTs? nm

Ascend Radiology & MDI Radiology?
Is anyone currently working on or know anything about Ascend radiology or MDI radiology accounts?  What platforms do they use?  Do they have a lot of ESLs or crappy dictators?  Thanks in advance

New hires
They probably are hiring extra expecting that all might not stay, or that some won't work out.
I'm one of those new hires, and...
I hope that all the TT questions on this board are not an indication of how difficult it is to communicate with supes at TT.  What I usually do if I have non-critical questions, especially for a new employer or in any situation where I know more questions will come up over time, is I just write them down and when I have 3 or 4 I'll send off an email.  Keeps me from bombarding someone with emails when every hour another little oh what about.... pops into my mind.
Wonder why no hires in NY, CA and MO? (sm)
Live in Missouri and have never seen anything that restricted us before.
Any new hires for MDI ...sm
Any new hires completed training?  Is there enough work on your primary to keep you busy?  What has your experience been after completing your 5 reports or 20 minutes of dictation?  Please share new hires or current employees?  Thanks.
yes, new hires
do work 1 wkend day every week.

Older/previous hires only had/have to do 2 wk-end days a month.

they have a number of accounts, and i am sure they could accommodate your preference if you are fortunate enough to be hired. Very good place to work, in my opinion!!
The new hires were either CM hires (for those sm
weird schedules like Wed-Sun 2nd shift) or for the new Enterprise account that had to hire the already-existing in house MTs; those hospitals MTs came along with the package and are now Webmedx MTs. Not new hires in the sense you were meaning.
Then get an in-house job so there are no
your current position.
In house?

Just curious if that had at-home transcriptionists.  Sorry, I dont know about their testing, but I had thought about applying there before also, so will watch this thread.

In-house
Never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I would love to get back into a hospital.
In-house only. sm
They listed the opening on MTjobs.com. Check there for info.
In-House
Yesss...and that is one of the reasons hospitals began outsourcing..
That's in-house only. Tried that already... nm

If you are in house, and they are (sm)
having trouble with the home people now, chances are excellent they will continue to have the problems when you go home until they get someone out to fix it.  If all the home MT's are having trouble, then the clinic needs to get someone in to fix it.  Maybe you might have more to say about that while you're there.  Once you go home, you're stuck like everyone else.
im a in-house MT, BUT
I might sound sneaky and dishonest, but I really think that whether you're an IC or employee, they have no say. Unless it's in the contract. But then again, I really don't think they can find out. I also work for a private office consisting of 4 docs who also dictate for the hospital. That friend whom I mentioned who used to work for a vendor AND our hospitals--she now has her own business and I work under her also as an IC in the clinic setting. Our boss doesn't know this because the 4 docs I type for also dictate for 1 of our hospitals. I fear the conflict interest issue. I make $22 by the actual hour plus incentive for the hospital, but as a single parent, I need more than that. I really don't know if I could get in trouble because during my IC shift, I'm not typing for the hospital.

Good luck, I know where you're coming from as far as really wanting just 1 job but needing to live, pay bills, and eat.
in-house
I left MQ after 20+ years to go in-house. I assumed I'd take a pay cut, but because of all the changes at MQ and constant lowering of pay, I decided I'd trade the money for some security. I was totally surprised that because of my experience, I started at more than $20.00 an hour, plus shift/weekend/holiday differentials and great benefits. I did have to change my schedule slightly (working afternoons/evenings) but again the differential comes into play so made it worthwhile. Only work 1 weekend a month, no holidays (unless I want to) and the pay is hourly, no production, no worries about NJA. The future of making a living with the MTSOs seems to be more and more uncertain so in your shoes, I'd definitely look into going back in-house. Also my employer now sends their MTs home to work after training and I think a lot of other hospitals are looking at doing the same thing. I know it will be an adjustment for you not working at home, but I've never regretted it for a moment.
in-house MT now
Four months ago, I started work for a local hospital and couldn't be happier. I've been a Transcriptionist for 33 years, and this job has been a God-send. No stress, no minimum line counts, paid hourly (excellent pay) exceptional benefits, low cost health care. I had been an at-home transcriptionist for 10 years, and the work had decreased to the point that my last pay check was only $500.00 for a two week period. I was facing foreclosure on my home. On my interview, the director informed me that they had an outside company, but decided to bring transcription back in-house to be more cost effective for the department.

You set your own schedule; weekends/nights only if you want it in your schedule.  Always have work.  Good pay, good accounts, good people.
