Debbie told me when she hired me

Posted By: Another Debbie on 2007-11-05
In Reply to: Question - if we stay plugged in waiting for work (sm) - Nother TTer

that she is more interested in the total line count than the hours. Pam I Yam and the other poster is correct - just put your regular shift instead of all the signing in and out stuff. The time card needs to show 40 hours but how many people take bathroom breaks and actually eat during the day? It's not a big deal!!!!! Put your regular shift in.

They told you they were looking for 3rd shift and hired someone for that sm
so you don't trust them? That doesn't make any sense.
After I was told I was hired by someone advertising
on the company board here - I provided my DL#, SSN and never heard back from her - since she said up front a background investigation would need to be done down the line and with the type of work I was to do - I understood - but never again.  Unless it is a very reputable company with a lot of info about them out there - I will never provide again - way too scarey.
Yeah, that's what they told me when I was hired...

they were hiring all American QA and leads and that they were making a transition to bring work back on shore.  Six months later, I was fired along with a bunch of other people.

Like I said, THEY LIE!

Right before I hired on, they finally told me that..sm
they couldn't offer the health insurance that is stated on their website. Also, they don't pay for holidays - lines only. Platform definitely not a productive one! I turned down their offer quickly.
I hired on a month ago and was told there was no choice sm

but to use their computer.  I do not object to the deposit, and, like you, I think it is reasonable since they are supplying their equipment to a stranger.  I would MUCH prefer to use my computer to the computer they sent me.

As far as WMX being the best company ever, your experience must be better than mine.  So far, I have experienced an account with VERY poor sound quality, running out of work during my scheduled time, requests for a secondary account ignored, and emails ignored by the team manager.  Fortunately, I am only working part-time, so it is just a minor irritation while I look for something else.

Everyone's experience with a company is unique, and I am glad that yours is a positive one.  Sorry that I cannot say the same.

Was asked when hired, told them I wanted M-F...
and fortunately for me, they had M-F accounts that were a good fit for me. I've only been there 2 months but feel like I've landed in a good spot!
Recently hired on and was told those of us coming on now (sm)
were eligible to participate immediately in the 401. As far as the matching, their ad states discretionary so I assume it is dependent upon profit margin or something. At least they are up front about it and not telling you they match and then say, Oops, no more like MQ did.
I hired on about 3 months ago and was told then Monday a.m. (sm)
might be sketchy at times due to so many people scheduling themselves day shift. I don't mind really, I came from Medquist and now when I run out of work and have to flex my time it is on my schedule. I don't have to schedule a time to make up work, i.e. Friday thru Sunday and MQ wanted me pinned down as to EXACT hours I would be on working.

The accounts I am on are smaller than I am used to (both under 500 beds) but they seem to keep me in work most of the time. Smaller accounts and overflow accounts can be a killer though.

Good luck. Hope it gets better for you today. I am still in the honeymoon phase but I really love it here.
When I was hired I was told the 15th and 30th, but
handbook says 15th and last day of month. I sure was disappointed.
I was told 6000 lines for 2 weeks when I hired
in as an SE 6 weeks ago.

Is this true? I was just hired and was told 24 hours for PTO...nothing about 401K..let me know!

I was hired for 3rd shift and was told there was plenty of work
i was given 4 accts and still don't make money - that is all i am saying
I recently hired on and was told they were kind of getting away from 12 hour (sm)
but that a lot of that depended on the account you were hired for.
I wasn't hired for 1 work type, but told them I like OPs so that is what I am assigned. When I r
out of ops, I usually stop unless we are out of TAT on other jobs because I do not want to take other people's work. I do not think I should get paid less for that.
Hired by Cymed and told they did not pay for spaces, but paid for headers and footers. Just did a

check on the line count, and not only do they not pay for headers and footers, they also pay for 2 lines less than I typed.

Sue and Debbie
Maybe if Sue would actually LEAVE things would be okay, but right now the company is going downhill FAST. Debbie is back AGAIN and with her disorganization things will NEVER change.

If you want to be happy with where you work (at least most of the time) then you need to continue looking because these two companies are not the places to work. Think about it, why are they always hiring more and more people? It’s called HIGH TURNOVER!
when was Debbie gone??nm
q
You should ask Debbie
Any concern especially with regard to below.... ask.
Debbie
Is the air time card also called an express card? Do they have cards that you just pay a monthly fee for and not through your cell phone but like through a satellite dish or something?
Debbie is a schemer, nothing more!
I could swear when we first checked out her pay me to take surveys MLM scam site before she had previously worked at Bloomingdale's or Nordstroms, but I do not recall that she had worked there for 20 years or had worked anywhere for 20 years. Seems to me she had references from several people she had supposedly worked with from several different places all swearing up and down what a wonderful and qualified employee she was (too much so, if you get my drift). I don't recall ANY of those said jobs being QA positions, more like sales or clerical. She seems to have had a lot of jobs for someone her age who worked for 1 company for 20+ years.

My point here is that this gal was operating a pyramid scheme just a couple months ago. Her original site was Join here and pay $20 to take survey's about our MT business, and then refer people to me and you will get $5.00 per person who signs up under your name. I don't believe she is interested in any of this information being factual, she just wants to collect it (along with our personal data) so she can make money by selling it to God only knows whom, probably costing us our jobs or at the very least a whole lot of aggravation with e-mail boxes being filled with spam from other companies. Her only goal (in my opinion) is to make money in a marketing scheme. I guess she thinks the national MT companies are going to pay her for this data just because she collected it? She will claim its accuracy because she did a survey? I also find it odd that while she talks about QA this and QA that, it seems to me what she really means is quality control - and that is a big difference, odd she would not know the difference, isn't it?

Being a former Spheris employee myself, if she was as all that in the QA field, she should have started with them. I do wonder if she is still with them and, if not, then my guess is this is how she thinks she can make a living since, apparently, no other companies will have her?

One thing we all noted before, and it is rather apparent on her new site too, is that for someone who has been an MT for 3+ years and is supposedly as good as she claims herself to be, she sure makes a whole lot of errors.
You don't happen to know. Ask Debbie if you don't believe me! n/m
b
I am really not sure, but I would contact Debbie and just ask.
xs
her point is to thank Debbie.
nm
Did you ever see Debbie Downer on SNL?
x
I think it depends on experience, account hired for, etc. I was hired at .08 per line sm
but after 90 days went to 0.085 and then 0.09 about 90 days after that. I am now at 0.0925 and have been there a year. I have to point out that the line rate might not be the highest but I can verify my counts, have plenty of work, get paid on time and have a great manager. To me, leaving a bad national and the headaches that went with it was well worth the cut in pay I took. Funny thing is that I took a pretty sizable pay cut but make more money ?!?!
Debbie is no longer the owner.
The previous COO from Heartland is now the President and COO! Watch out! Major outsource lover...
No, higher. I think like 6 or 6.5 cpl. I would call Debbie and ask her.
s
E-mail your supervisor or Debbie and ask them!! nm

Debbie - please re-send the email
/
Debbie - there IS a slight glitch on the 2nd page - sm
where after you complete it, and click on CONTINUE, you get a message in red at the top left-hand corner stating answering that question is required. (Even though it HAS been answered). I figured out to just hit exit survey at the top, but was not sure if my answers were recorded or not. Anyway, that might need to be fixed, because it might cause people to give up and not finish or send the survey.

Thanks for publishing it - GREAT idea!
I find it hard to believe that Debbie "promised" you
So is Transtech the first company you ever worked at that had slow periods? Didn't think so.
Debbie Hood is the HR person -- give her a call. nm

If you want to know the real scoop, always better to just ask.  Someone might pay me $20 a report (okay, in my dreams) and someone else something else.   I understand when people come here and want to know things a recruiter or HR person cannot or will not tell you, such as quality and quantity of dictation and dictators, reliability of being paid on time and such.  But if you want to know specifics of how much per report/line, what kind of bennies, direct deposit or no, etc ... why not just write an email or pick up the phone and ASK?

This is not meant to be rude or anything.  I just am curious.  When I signed on with a company, I saw posts saying 10 cpl was the ceiling and a bunch of other user-specific information that had nothing to do with what I was offered.  I made 11-1/2 cpl AND they paid my long distance.  A lot has to do with bargaining skills and what you have to offer.

JMO.

I hope Debbie "outs" the entire greedy -nm
)
Might I suggest that you adjust your hours a little and talk to Debbie. (sm)
see if that helps get you through the crunch.  I guarantee it won't last long.
Call the office and ask to speak w/ Debbie Hood

I don't hesitate to ask. Have been told "yes", and have been told "no." Never been to
:+
I said "about to be" hired... not yet hired, and ........
considering it just like I would consider any job.... I didn't accept the job yet and wanted to check out the info out there.
TransTech is a good company. Debbie is the owner and a good one at that! nm
n
I was hired by them...sm

I would stay away.  I got the job and never started with them.  They want to charge rent for the footpedal.  When I asked about buying it, they said it costs $500.  When I received the pedal, it was no different than the $30 ones (seen on internet) that all the other services just give out and then toss when they break.  I felt like I was going to be ripped off.

Thank you. When I got hired on, I was
so excited. A good friend of mine had suggested to me to try to get on.

When I got hired and told her, she asked what I was getting for a base rate. She works out of the same "region". She didn't believe me so I showed her my paperwork. I had no idea what they were/are paying anyone else. She gets 8.75 cpl. She wasn't too happy...but with MQ, not with me. It's not my fault what the game is with their pay.

I may not always have good line counts. I may get shoved around to another account or several more and my lines will drop. I hope not. I'm hoping to stay where I am but if not, then I will have to work harder. That's just the name of the game, well to me at least.

I responded to someone else in this same thread somewhere that when I left the hospital, they were doing the same crappy thing with pay. When I hired in, it was all the same "start pay". Then later they decided to change the payscale according to years of experience, even for starting. So, all the new hires -- even with less experience than I -- were making sometimes THREE DOLLARS an hour more than I was. And they didn't have to do Op Notes because they didn't know how. I was the ONLY Transcriptionist who could work on every software package they had and do every single worktype, including pathology and EP lab, etc., that they had. Really irked me. I begged and begged and tried to negotiate an "adjustment" in my pay but they always had an excuse as to why they couldn't. I quit and started with MQ.

I know that it is impossible for any company or hospital to make ALL employees happy but it sure seems like they would want to have a little more consistency in what they offer. I worked for a clinic not that long ago that negotiated your hourly wage. I told them what I thought was a high hourly (for this region and for the simple work it was) and they hemhawed around about it but gave it to me. A month later, a young 'un who was really good but still not as fast or experienced came on board with us. She told me she had been hired on for a rate that was $4 more than I. I thought she was trying to upset everyone but then she showed us her check stub...I nearly fainted. I was getting $12 and she was getting $16.

Right now, I'm happy to be here. That tune may change! LOLOLOL I hope not but it might!

Anyway, thank you for the NICE post.
LOL! I'm not the OP. I'm trying to get hired!

Sounds great, doesn't she?

I think I'm hired...sm
I made it through what I think is the last process of being hired; interviewing with the owner. There are so many things about the company that I like, and I really want the job. For that reason, I may have been a little overzealous with the owner, but his last words were "you'll be hearing from us". I think that's probably a good sign, right?

I like the fact that they assign one doctor (with option to cross-train). You are required to type 1000 lines a day (I don't think that should be hard with the same doctor). They say you can set your own hours, but work must be done within 24 hours, and you must work the hours you set. I had a previous job that allowed cherry-picking, so I think that won't be a problem here.

Dental/health is the most affordable I've seen yet.

You accrue one day a month for time off. It's all clinic work, so no weekends or holidays unless you want to.

The best part was that the recruiter I talked to is also a Transcriptionist for them, and she's been there for quite a few years. She shared alot of information that a transcriptionist would want to know. Most times, you don't find out that kind of information until you're already into the job.

The process was very quick. I sent my test back on Saturday, interviewed with recruiter and the owner on Thursday. The best part was all this is done by e-mail and telephone!

I think they are a very organized company.
I just hired on with them. SM
They pay very well, have absolutely fantastic benefits, and very generous PTO and great insurance at a reasonable cost.   In these days, you couldn't ask for more.  Everyone I have talked to so far has been wonderful.   I am looking forward to working for them.
I was just hired there and was
was told the hourly job is only for graveyard shift,
If you were hired before Nov 1
you will get a productive incentive, if you were hired after Nov 1, nothing.  That is what my hiring coordinator told me.  No shift diff, no incentive, but they raised their line rates.  I am new, but this is what I was told when I was hired.  A word of warning, forget the any help if you have IT problems for hours or even a day.  You have to e mail them and wait for a response.
I just got hired by them.....sm

but haven't started working yet.  I'm still waiting for my paperwork, foot pedal, software, etc.  From what I read, they seem to be a great company to work for. They hire employee status only, no ICs. I believe there is an incentive program for full time (I'll be working part time, so I'm not exactly sure of what it is). They also seem to be flexible with hours worked (no strict hours or punching in, but it sounds like you have a window of time to get your work done).  I'm sure the recruiter can give you more information. The pay is pretty decent also.

Good luck!

I was just hired as an
Would love to email and keep in touch, even tho you're doing Onc.. I have done that in the past as well. Let me know.
