Very affordable!

I have found that Webmedx's insurance is very affordable, more so than a lot of the other MTSOs out there.

okay but is it affordable? for 2?nm

Affordable benefits
Are the benefits affordable?
affordable insurance

I work in a hospital which is merging and our department will be outsourced.  I am looking for a job with afforable insurance.  I would have a new job today if not for the cost of family insurance, over $400 every two weeks.  I've only worked in hospitals were insurance is usually around $100 per pay period for the family so $400 came as a huge shock to me.  My husband as some pre-existing conditions so getting a personal policy is out of the question.  Anybody know of a company with afforable family insurance?

Benefits are very affordable...sm
Benefits are under 200 biweekly for me, and that includes family gold plan, dental plan, vision plan, and life insurance for my husband and kids.  As well, they provide long and short-term disability, 401K, an some other stuff I don't remember.
Depends on what you consider affordable.
It is expensive, but far less than what you would pay if you went it on your own. Employer picks up at least half the tab, possibly more. I know I would pay around $1200-1500 for my family on my own and right now for a family of 6 I pay a little over $550, but that's pretax so actually it reduces down to the equivalent cost to me of about $460 net. For 6 people, I can't complain.

Also, the insurance is pretty good in my opinion. The dental insurance is awesome and under $30 a pay period for entire family (no pre-pay or deductibles) and everyone in my area takes both the dental and the medical.

Not sure on what you mean by 1 or 10 kids. Aren't most insurances this way? They cover yourself or yourself and spouse or yourself, spouse and children. Haven't seen one where each additional child causes the premium to rise.

You have to type 150 lines an hour to qualify, which is pretty easy if you know anything about MT'ing. Have never ever gotten close to that low amount except when first training, even with multiple unknown accounts once in a while. Haven't heard of the 10,000 lines per pay period before.
Does DSG have affordable health benefits? SM
Any idea on the cost of this?  Thanks, :-)
What is Medware's pay range and is the ins. affordable? nm

You will not find any affordable family

about the same and very expensive.  Just the insurance market I guess, my husband's company has it available and with both of our incomes it is a large portion of our monthly expenses. Just my 2c, but I have asked every company I have ever interviewed with and today, family insurance rates are just unaffordabe everywhere.

They didnt worry that it would be affordable for the MTs.
you gotta be kidding, lol
Nope, not affordable. At least not when I left. nm
nm
Still not affordable but better than my husband's so we have no choice. sm
His company is $1410 for a family of 4 and none of us have any illnesses or surgeries. Highway robbery.

We pay $710 a month at Keystrokes. Still high but half.
Yes, Webmedx does have very affordable insurance. sm
I pay 145 a pay period for myself and husband for the gold type insurance (which is the best we can get).
How much is the insurance, is it good, affordable?
I really need insurance and don't want to apply if it is not affordable.
Does the company you work for have affordable (sm
health insurance?   Can you share the name of the company on here or via e-mail? TIA.
affordable health coverage

Could anyone one give the names of companies they work for with good health and dental coverage (individual plans) at an afforadable cost?  Any info given is appreciated.  I consider affordable as not too much more than $100 per month---80/20 plans okay, but prefer 100% coverage plans if they are out there with reasonable deductibles.  I know this is a tall order!  It can also be a noncompany plan, if anyone knows of a great insurance company plan outside of the job.  I am 45 and in good health, just borderline hypertensive (if there is such a thing---although it does make my rate go up).

Thanks!

companies with affordable benefits
Does anyone know any companies that are hiring that have affordable insurance for family?  I need to get a position with insurance.  Thank you for any replies.
Is Medware's health insurance affordable?

I am looking for either family coverage or just husband and wife coverage.  Any idea of how much their insurance costs?  I remember a while back they had their rates listed on their website and they seemed very reasonable.

Can anyone give me an estimate on how much they pay for their health insurance for family.  This would be for the PPO insurance, as I do not reside in Florida.

Thanks guys!!!

Looking for a company with affordable health insurance.
Anybody work for Proscript or DSG, can you tell me how much you pay for husband and wife coverage?  Thanks so much.
Is WEBMEDX's health insurance affordable?
Can anyone tell me more about their benefits, including the health insurance?  Thanks so much.
Very affordable for individual, high for families, sm
but I think all insurance is high for families. 6 holidays, a few days PTO until you've been there over 6 years. (and they keep changing the PTO yearly).
TransTech - is their insurance affordable? How much do they contribute? sm
For family coverage, about how much is the monthly premium?  Do they pay well?  Do you have to work a set schedule or can you get your lines in within a 24-hour window?  Thanks!
I believe they have several to choose from - affordable and decent coverage, IMO
nm
Axolotl has great affordable insurance!
Their rates are better than any MT company that I know of.
Anybody work for TransHealth as an employee and how do you like it? Is the insurance affordable?

Anyone know of a GOOD company with affordable health insurance?

Hi.  I am a 14+ year MT.  I love the company I am with but they offer NO benefits whatsoever.  Does anyone know of a company that is looking for a dependable MT that offers reasonably priced health insurance and would give at least 9-1/2 cents a line (which is what I am getting now). Any help would be greatly appreciated.  THANK YOU!

I have single coverage - affordable - but don't know about family. Call them.

Companies w/Escription accounts that offer affordable family insurance??
I realize that affordable is subjective so whatever information anyone can give woudl be appreciated. The majority of Escription accounts offer IC only. Thanks
Define IC, please
How do companies manage to constantly advertise they are looking for ICs for specific hours and days?  When I was an IC, I told them when I would be working, what days of the week, etc.
Please define
what an MT is/does.
Do you know how they define a line?
I have not worked as an IC, but it doesn't sound too far off if the details are right. Do they pay for spaces? Headers? What software? What report types? Have you heard the dictators yet?

I don't have all the answers, but those who will will probably need more info.
You define yourself as being in business.
My 2 cents - strictly my thoughts:  1) License?   Probably not needed - in my state of Indiana (or maybe just county) when I checked on this years ago they informed me a license was required for retail type business, selling a product, not a service.    May need a DBA (doing business as) registered with your county recorder(?) if you take on a business name.  Requirements vary from state and counties.   That's all it takes.   2) When are you In Business???   As soon as you desire to be -- and believe you are!   3) How many accounts?   One!  That's enough sometimes to get started.   I believe being in business or even freelance is a mindset.  If you think you're in business, you are.  But no one else might see you that way.  Besides, most medical offices I've ever transcribed for (10+ years) I don't think really saw me as being in business.  Early on in my so-called business career as an MT, while waiting to pick up a tape in his waiting room one morning, I overheard the doctor talking to the receptionist, asking her:  is that the typing girl.  That gave me a perspective real fast!   After that, I realized that while I might see myself as in business, most accounts saw the transcription business I offered was simply a necessary evil they had to pay for, and that I charged too much anyway--no matter what I quoted.  It's a strange way to make a living.   They need you but don't really want you.  At least I think that's how the docs see us.   So, if you want to give it a try, simply Declare that you have a small business and go for it.  You define it for yourself.  Best of luck to you.
Define desperate
I think it depends on how desperate you are for the experience.    I worked for a company out of North Carolina at an extraordinarily low line rate, but they were the only company who would hire me with no practical experience whatsoever. I knew I had to suck it up and deal with less than minimum wage for a while and just put my time in. Fortunately I had backup money so my mortgage did not go unpaid during this time frame.   If you are just trying to get anyone to hire you, then you might want to take it at least for a while.  Horrible is better than nothing, sometimes.
define strung along - guess I just don't get it
I personally was never treated badly by anyone there, the only surprise being how quickly office closed.
Can you define "some exceptions?"...
In your response you said it was for radiology in general although there are some exceptions. I've heard from 2 HIM transcriptionists who have been with the company for several years that they were notified that their line rates would be changed to the new hire rates & they were given less than a week's notice on this.
I think it is one person. I had a few print outs from a few weeks ago and this person even capital
I have had a positive one. I have been with Keystrokes for 3 months and am very happy.

I printed them to show my manager but she told me that there are few bitter people out there and no one can do anything about them. My manager said that everyone can tell that it is the same few over and over again, for Keystrokes and a few other companies as well. Time to move on Ms. Anon. I cannot think why a company would go through the trouble of getting IDs and getting you installed just to ignore you after that. Doesn't make sense, does it? Are you sure that't the whole truth? You keep saying truth but it sounds fishy.
Exactly what I'm talking about RUDE! You are a very unhappy person. A happy person does not
respond in such a way!  This is the reason SS has such a bad name.
I am not a hateful person but that person screamed at me for 45 minutes. sm
She said all transcriptionists are idiots.
that person go.

Since you are the person
who actually makes an offer to someone, you should have a method of following up with someone after a week or so to make sure that the new hire is up and running, especially after you have been notified that the new hire has returned all necessary paperwork. Your process sucks. period.
Cant you see that the person is already down?
Thats right kick them when they are down. Thats a great example. Get a life.
So they are the same person? nm

The only way a person would need SM

to have nice people to work for and only communicate with nice people is if they are in need of something they should have within themselves.  For me, my job is just something I do for 8 hours a day and whatever they have to say to me, fine, oh well.  It doesn't reflect on me whether people are snippy or rude, I just ignore it and move on in life.

It's just work, business.  Not my whole life.

Yep. It also looks like this person is just
wanting to hear good things and forget anything else. Just wanting to hear what they want to hear.
As a QA person myself, 13.50 is too low
x
who was the person
Could you share the name or initials of the person. I would like to know if it is who is calling me too.
I really wonder if this person's--sm
initials begin with K and end with I, who used to post here and cause nothing but turmoil. Sure sounds like her.
Not the person above but SM

the person looking for the editors has made it a multi-board issue by posting on different boards telling people to go to the Job Seekers board to see what was posted there.  That's the only way I'd know what was going on.

As far as he/she being run off the boards forever, oh well.  Reputable companies post who they are and the conditions of employment.  We had another semi-anonymous person get help from at least 1 person on this site recently and the MT was never paid.  The MT has no way of contacting the person who owes the $ now.

QA person from, you now where!
Small company and owner is very nice, but the QA person was the absolute worst! Very insulting and humiliating. That is why I left.
I WONDER IF IT IS THE SAME PERSON
SHE WAS A TEAM LEAD WHO USED TO DO THAT, SHE WORKS AS MT AT ANOTHER COMPANY. DON'T KNOW ABOUT A SUPERVISOR BUT A TEAM LEAD USED TO DO THAT A LOT AND YOU KNOW THAT SHE KNEW THE SCHEDULES. THAT HAS BEEN A LONG LONG TIME AGO THOUGH.
Not the person above, but...
The pay is low and they don't pay for experience. Otherwise, they have plenty of work and are a very nice bunch of people.
