or that 20-30% went to dictaphone/ichart
too many cooks..........
Transnet is just the Dictaphone system SM
you use to download voice files from a file server on the Internet - you can adjust speed, volume, backstop, etc. The client/MTSO assigns dictators to you, just simply sign on, download, and type away.
Is 4.5 cpl on Dictaphone VR system good pay.
Never tried VR before, and after 30 plus years straight typing, deciding to give it a try PT.
Voice Recognition question. Anyone with experience on Dictaphone Speech system
Is it relatively easy to maneuver through.  Is it easy to double or triple your line count.  Any all comments/suggestions welcomed.
Nuance is the parent company of Dictaphone. Dictaphone makes ExText.
s
Does Dictaphone obtain the accounts for the companies who use Dictaphone EXText?
I was just wondering if this is the same as it used to be.  Dictaphone installs the equipment in facilities and then gets a MTSO to take the account.  Therefore, the MT company never solicits for accounts, but Dictaphone notifes them when they have installed equipment in a hospital.
ichart
Just curious if anyone is having problems with ichart line counts for the last 3 days?
ichart
Go to this link and put in your ID with the number part for the password. https://admin.ichart.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2flogon.aspx. Go to My Line Counts. Choose the server. Go to Specify Date Range. You can choose any date range but always for the end hours put 23:59. HTH
When you are in iChart...sm
you can see it broken down by hospital. Make sure you are using Internet Explorer. When you get into iChart, you ask for My Line Counts. Once you are in that screen, up in the right hand corner in green is Specify Date Range. Click that. Select the day prior to today (on the left calendar) and today (on the right calendar). Set the time range for 2300 under both calendars and click Submit.

This will give you an accurate count for that day, EXCEPT that during peak hours it may take an hour after you have finished working to give you the final count. After about 4 p.m. EST it is only about 10 to 15 minutes for a final count. It breaks it down by hospital, but also gives you a total.

You can figure 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, it doesn't matter to the program. Given the delay, it is very hard to tell how many lines you are doing in an hour, at least during the day. If you only interested in totals, that is easy to figure out.
Not ichart
I currently work for another company. I type in Extext. My line count is always there whenever I want to look at it. Slow server, thats bull. Write to iChart.Team@Dictaphone.com they might be able to help you with this.
ICHART
Has anyone worked on this, if so, what did you think about it?  And productoin wise?  Thanks for any information  you might have.  Have a great day!
iChart information
I guess I'm just curious about how to use auto correct or normals, stuff like that. I'll be starting with TSI (Transcription Services of Illinois). Just waiting on Dictaphone to get their stuff straight.
It was a problem with ichart
We were sent email by the company explaining the problem and the issues were resolved. Transtech is honest and forthright about their business and some of the posts bordered on slander, I assume that's why they were removed.
No, not an Ichart problem...
it is because TT tells Dictaphone what to set TT's line count for...this often happens with companies who use ExText. That's why I left.
Not an IChart problem
Is 100% correct. The above poster has it correct. Companies tells dictaphone what to count and that is the line counts you get.
iChart platform???

I am about to start working for Focus, and I was wondering if anybody can give me input on how iChart is to work on.  Is it very MT friendly?

TIA!

ExText - iChart platform -- HELP!!!
I am starting with a company that uses this software.  I've never used this before and I'm FREAKING OUT.  Can anyone offer any advice on this software?  Bea
Companies using Extext/Ichart
I got a very interesting email from the Ichart team from Dictaphone.  I had written them because I had been questioning my low low line counts with a particular company that I am no longer employed with.  They had disabled the control I feature so you could not see your session statistics. The excuse was - they didn't pay for headers or footers thus the line count not accurate.  Well, fine and well, I asked for a breakdown report by report of what my line count was for each of my reports.  I was told they didn't have this information, I was told by Dictaphone in this email that the administrator certainly does have this information, and that the way lines are counted varies and are totally set by the administrator (or your employer).  The Ichart team did tell me they are working on getting that available on the Ichart site so you can see report by report what your line count is. I think this is the only fair way.  Line counts should be verifiable for each report, not just a lump clump number.  Lets say you did 700 lines like I did one time.  Well, I did about 28 reports.  These were H&Ps and consults mostly with very minimal progress notes.   Do the math, the 700 lines just does not add up right with the # of reports.  So, bottom line, if going to work for an account that uses this system beware, ask questions.  There are a lot of companies out there using it and disabling the session statistics
Been working for me right up to this moment, Ctl/I and iChart, since Fri. nm
s
Be sure to put ichart "to" time in as 23:59
..
Send file in ichart

Ctrl+N = to send a file, but only if it does not have any blanks.

Ctrl+L = to send for review, or if it does have blanks.

Will Ichart interface with Instant Text?
x
If you have to use what THEY say to use, you're stuck. Ctrl + I and logging in to iChart do not
g
To clarify I get around their game & count my own too - ichart is short!
Tired of being ripped off
Ichart does not give us the # of reports, lines per report,

but does give a pretty instant line count, most of the time. However, that counter is set which ever way the MTSO wants it to be set. They have complete control of that setting and what the MT is paid for.

At least, that is what I was told. Inhouse we could use Ctrl I at anytime to get our exact line count -- true line count with every stroke counting.

Documented line count each report, then compared to ichart end of day
nm
If Ichart deducts 8% from ExText line counts, you are actually not getting paid for spaces

It is the equivalent of a 70.2 character line with spaces, 65  characters without spaces.

Doesn't apply if your OSI account doesn't use Ichart.
It is the Ichart only for OSi where you are cheated.
MDI's new system.. Can anyone tell me
if they like it, love it, hate it? I HATE IT! It has cut my lines in half and I'm ready to throw in the towel. It's a second job for me and I only do it part time. I love the account I'm on and everything but their new system stinks. I didn't mind AIM but their new system can join my hated docs on the long cruise to nowhere that I wish they take every time I get them..
Is it the AIM system still? nm
s
new MDI system
Hi, I have been working on the new system, yes there are some issues with quality - I have been putting my headset in the back of my computer and the sound is much better. I love the new system though, it just needs some time
OLD SYSTEM
Except for a couple of accounts, they are still using the OLD DOS program.
I mean system - DUH! nm
nm
I was 300-350+ at Q, can't get above 270 at Wx. It's their system. nm
x
Don’t know what VR system you use
but this is why I said, it has to be trained correctly. If you have scads on and 1 does something 1 way, the next another way, the third some other way, that is where the problem comes in. By the end of the day my total was $153 so that was ok for me and it is so much easier than straight.
System was down for a while. It is frustrating.
I know they are working on it. Overall, I like this system better than most.
No structure/system at MDI-MD...sm
I feel like they have too many MTs typing amuck anywhere and everywhere whenever they want 24/7 causing everyone to have to work 24 hours a day to get their lines in.  I have been chained to this computer for over 5 months now.
If you do not already have an abbreviation system
you will not succeed. I don't mean to say this in a mean spirited way. I'm saying it after working for several companies where I needed ShortHand and had to build it from scratch. It is counterproductive to learn new accounts, a new platform, and a new abbreviation system all at the same time. It takes literally weeks of refining the entries that would allow greater productivity...weeks that you won't have time to invest when you are expected to be up at full production by your third paycheck. Consider everything.
I should have specified that Allscripts is EMR system.
nm
Oh and learn this new system..
Be an IC at 7 cpl, and do your assigned work and be our slave!  What a joke...
Not sure, but I think it's a call-in system...
and probably most of the docs are using phones in the hospital. Just the other day I had a doc call from home and dictate from his kitchen. Sounded like he was washing dishes, and he stopped often to talk to his small children. There was a dog barking, and I could hear him let the dog out as he was dictating.
Now and then, some of the docs dictate on speaker settings because they want their hands free to type into computers for patient records, or to go through papers.
I've had this sort of thing on every account I've ever done at every company.
Whenever it's really bad, I send an email to support and/or my account supervisor. I always get good response from them. No one can check a dictation station or tell a dictator to get off his cell phone if we don't let the office know that there's a problem. :)
Was the system ExText?

They told me I would be working on ExText. Is this the platform you used?  And thank you for your response! I really appreciate it.

What kind of a system is it?
nm
Don't know what kind of system they
are using, but they just put in a new VPN server to handle it. I was just wondering if there was anything I could do at home to help staying connected, or if other people had experienced this while running Extext.
Ahh their GREAT system!!!!
and clocking in and out
It IS the system. I got an e-mail from my STM
this week stating so.
Transolution DOS system
Would anyone be willing to email me about Transolutions DOS system?  It is hard to make any money on this platform?  It seems there have been negative posts regarding this but I would like to apply.  It is so hard to make a decision about company with so little info to go on - it would be nice to get a heads up both good and bad.....  Thanks....
See message above regarding system.
Unless you work for Webmedx, you really should not comment about the system.
And if that system is Meditech, well let's just say

platform is at MQ.  A hospital system could care less if the MT is happy.  They are focused more on how wide of a range they can reach for each department and make it friendly for the ones who seek the information.  Meditech is horrible.

Just be careful hopping from a huge conglomerate to a company that claims growth, but then overhire.  JMO.

Obviously so TT's system of being nice
has backfired.  With no checks in place quality goes down the drain.  That is true for any industry.  Transtech is nice and all but one of the reasons I'm not there today is the quality of the work is sorely lacking.  Somebody else said they fear a lawsuit, well I wouldn't be surprised either.
The more the system tries to eliminate MTs I think the more they (sm)

the more the system finds they really need the human touch in order to have a document worth the money for doctors to walk into court with.

However, I will say this.  As we go into this depression -- and trust me we are there -- businesses have learned they don't have to CARE.  They don't have to care about the health or well being of their employees -- and they are showing them the door rather than being decent about a work place.

So, they may find they need us humans in the chain of medicine - I think the courts will more and more not see law suits because nobody can afford to bring the charges.  We will all be out here just struggling to keep body and soul together.  Sad what has happened.
