How would we know that they lost a huge account? sm
They never communicate with their MTs.
They lost the huge TN disability sm

account to the Philippines.  Guess TN wanted cheap labor.  I won't be surprised if ALL of the accounts go there.

I am so glad I quit working there!!!

They lost a huge account in Alabama
to work it.  It was probably one of their biggest accounts and they didn't keep it long.  Beware.
QT lost jobs lost dreams
webmedx is hiring but they may already have enough people, I got a job there last week.  No matter what kind of bull you are hearing from management or otherwise is a lie.  The account is gone, please look for new jobs
Huge turnover at OSi. They have lost most of their good employees and are
Me thinks this nutcase is asking and answering questions here hoping to get people to apply.

Check the archives here on OSi....bad news!!!
Diskriter offshores
Turned them down.
It is not just a slow time....they lost a huge acct and moved many MTs to other accts.......
nm
I guess this explains part of the reason we keep running out of work. My office lost a lot of huge
accounts in the past year.
Any service that offshores has US QA people. We're the ones stupid enough to take these jobs
and clean up their mess!
We have privacy laws in this country, and you are held accountable. Our privacy laws

For those who lost their jobs at QT (sm)

How were you all informed about the closing of QT?  I hope you all found homes.  Good luck to everyone of you going through this.

AMERICAN JOBS
for AMERICAN workers. In case you have not noticed, America is having a Depression. AMERICAN JOBS FOR AMERICAN WORKERS. I wish you well in your search, but not with an American company.
I do think ppl have lost jobs / ins coverage which sm
means that basic needs are not being met; people are deciding to put food on the table instead of seeing a doctor. Elective surgery is even more unlikely to be done because, by nature, it is something you'd choose to do; even rich people are uneasy in this economy.
I am American. Are you helping Americans get jobs? nm
x
In all fairness, the American people need jobs.
This post and the post about your as successful as you allow yourself to be (with near 10% unemployment, 15% unemployment in my town) should be read with a grain of salt.

American businesses are in it for profit, no secret there. But lets not feel guilty about them sending us into the unemployment line and critizing their decisions is just nonsense.

The poster is trying to make us feel happy for MDI and bad for us for not having a parade with balloons for the decision. ::eye roll::

Canada has added jobs and when I read this along with Canada's leadership not allowing the country to become a patsy to predator lending, and this is what you should be saying about your country and not do what you have to do business community - I'll be fine without a job. lol
Diskriter off off offshores - and on some hospital accounts - they have not informed the hospital
x
I see Diskriter is always posting jobs...
Are they a good company to work for?  They must have a lot of work if they keep on posting positions.  Anyone have any info on them?
I think this could only be done with a huge client base, or a huge number of say only
s
This is an invasion of privacy. sm

This is my PC, not theirs.  Also, I do work for other companies with whom I have signed confidentiality agreements and their monitoring is in direct violation of these other agreements.

It's none of their business who else I do work for.  They shouldn't be allowed to view my emails or see what web sites I go to, etc.  I believe they could end up being sued by someone because of this business practice.

maybe for privacy purposes
I have kept things out.

I'm sorry that you feel I have holes. Are you a recruiter that can assist me in obtainin a job if I give you all my personal information? If you are then I would be glad to share my work history with you.

After posting I was given a copy of the BOS (thank you!!) and I passed the next two tests that I was given...not surprising that was my problem from the beginning.

So, THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO POSTED HERE, YOUR HELP WAS VASTLY APPRECECIATED AND GREATLY IMPROVED MY SUCCESS!!
thus would really be invading of privacy,
nobody else's business.
This would be more than socialism.
Sounds like a bit of privacy-invasion, to me.......nm
.
No such thing as privacy anymore anyway
Do people not realized that *most* of their movements are not tracked in one way or the other? Think about this the next time you go in public in anything larger than the tiniest towns. Think about the paper trails you leave 24/7.

Seriously, the day Americans allowed the so-called Patriot Act to be written into law *without being read* they gave up some of the last remaining protections for privacy. Sadly, a huge number of people don't even realize the ramifications of this act.

Some may think what I just wrote - and the issue on the board - are two separate issues, but they are not.

As Benjamin Franklin said so well: He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither.

Sure, have lost patience, never lost sense of acting

EXACTLY! HIPAA protects the privacy of your health information IN THIS COUNTRY!
Once your protected health information leaves this country, your privacy is no longer protected.  So while you may not trust your neighbor to know your medical history, you can trust that if they breech your privacy, you have legal recourse and you can have their jobs!  In India, if someone holds your health records hostage and threaten to publish them on the internet because they didn't get their 2 cpl, you are basically screwed!
Cherrypicking is when you work from a pool of jobs and being able to reject the worst jobs to those
,
George says what he means or is it he means what he
but he sure does apologize in a way I've never heard a person whose company is valued at $8m a year apologize before and I've worked for companies who played who is the president of the week game! All I can say is that his personal interview about his high school reunion has a distinctly different style than his late January postings in which he degrenates the poster he tries to engage. Just remember George's quote we are misinformed.
Monster Jobs and Career Builder usually have a few path jobs. nm

OSI offshores - sm
That's old news, they have been doing it for a while. They got caught at it over a year ago, but no telling how long they were doing it before the news leaked accidentally. They then had to own up to it on the OSi homepage for employees.
No one really knows who offshores
Why do you think there was a post stating that management knew weeks before this DRC take-over and conference call?  It could be in the works no matter company you work for as far as I'm concerned.  As far as saying I won't work for a company that offshores, well that to me, is like saying I am giving up on my profession.  The ones that won't work for offshoring companies are giving them the satisfaction of the take-over and offshoring.  In other words, you are prejudiced, against anyone transcribing other than a born in America MT.  Has it ever occurred to anyone on here that there may be American transcriptionists who are originally from India or China?  Come on this is 2007.  Get with the times!  Do you only buy American made products?  Bet not.  Okay, I feel better now.
offshores
nm
OSI offshores.....
xx
Definitely offshores
All Type...definitely, definitely
I don't know if TRS currently offshores, but they
have been training women in the Trinidad and Tobago (I think) for several years.  If there were a need for transcribed MR a US company would not need to train them, and why train them if they aren't going to have any work.  Get the picture.
Don't think any do except for those in-house jobs. Some QA jobs are paid hourly. nm
s
They didn't take our jobs, QT gave them our jobs. The account is now
back in the hands of US MTs, or will be in just a couple of weeks.
SPHERIS OFFSHORES
to India. They joined up with Healthscribe a few years back and are using the Healthscribe office in India for transcription. I know for a fact that they are about to lose a major major account in California because they did not inform the hospital that they were offshoring the work and crap hit the fan!
when a company offshores - sm
they tend to send most of the work offshore because the company makes more money for their pockets. They use the American side just for the minimum amount of work necessary for the client and also to "offset" the client figuring out a lot of times that it is being offshored. Diskriter does this also. they will use both American and Indian and charge the client the same rate and hope that the client doesn't catch on.
INTELLITYPE OFFSHORES
...but tries to keep it quiet and asks the American MTs to do the Indian's editing...
Precyse offshores.
no message.
OSI offshores. Someone that posts
here often (can't remember name) works for DR and she says the pay is low, but the platform is easy and she can make her lines very easily.   If your friend was constantly running out of work, etc. that would be enough for me to stay away.
CyMed offshores, pay so-so, don't know about other.

Medware offshores
You get the leftovers. Between Thanksgiving and New years, the server was done daily, frequently several times a day. ..Their sweet little *team leaders* don't spend well at the gas station or the grocery store.

Good luck with this company. Their work is NOT consistent, there was no incentive pay worth mentioning, and they really don't care about quality - just get those lines out.
Yes, Transcend offshores a lot
Someone had the article and posted it here a few months ago.
Focus offshores
Sorry to say your information is incorrect. As a matter of fact, there is a hospital that will be completely offshored by the middle of July. I had been working on it for over a year before getting this news last month.
Spheris offshores too nm
nm
Transform offshores

Worked for him for 3+ years.  He does offshore.  Be careful about linecount, espcilally spaces. My linecount was  off  and when I called his hand on it it, he hand-counted it and it was off.  He               owed be $1759

Any company that offshores, lies about it like they did and then
gets caught is an unethical company.  I don't care if they pay better, no ESL, etc.   If you want to work for a company like that more power to you.     My ethics won't let me work for a company like that.
Will never work for a company who offshores
And I bet I won't have to eat my words.
Medware definitely offshores, so does Focus
In fact, Focus Infomatics is OWNED by an Indian company.

I have worked for them both. Be Ware.
Just found out my company offshores,
xx
