Shorthand/Smartype
Hi: Only Shorthand is and they recommend it.
Is Shorthand or Smartype compatible with
z
Shorthand or ExText expander system? Which is
nm
They use SpeedType built in to their system - works just like Shorthand.NM

As a whole.. nice people to work for, decent benefits but the get off/on the system, work/no work,
is maddening. I couldnt pay my bills or even work the schedule I was assigned. They would ask us not to work until work built up in the evenings and I specifically wanted to work days as I have kids etc. It just didnt work out for me but to each his own. It just seems there has to be a better balance in this business that what is happening.
What company gives you a rating system?
A,B,C,D???  What kind of company is this?  Sounds like the company was screwy, not EditScript!  I have worked on EditScript for over 2 years and though the pay stinks, I have never had the problems you are describing.  Don't blame the platform - BLAME the company - geez!   I would never work on a rating system.  Give me a break!
My company has a tiered system

wherein you are paid a benefit time rate according to how many lines you produce, i.e., 175-200 lph you make 9 cpl but benefit time for PTO purposes is $12/hr. and so on.

Reputable company w/ platform compatible w/ InstanText/Shorthand

Am heavily dependent on sophisticated Expanders that incorporate code script, like ShortHand and InstanText.  Can anyone recommend reputable employers whose platforms are compatible with these programs?

Are you kidding? This is a health system, not a company, sm
and I bet it pays more than 8 cpl. You would be a fool not to look into this position. Jobs are hard to come by working directly for a facility these days.
How did you get shorthand to work with it?
Deb H said they did not think it would.
Shorthand might work.
Since it works under Windows, not under any particular app, and so far, I have not had it NOT work--even when I didn't want it to, such as in chat, e-mail, and instant messaging, if I forget to turn it off....

You can download a free 30-day trial. Just Google ShortHand for Windows. I don't have the URL handy. If it doesn't work for you... you don't have to pay for it at the end of the trial.
Will Shorthand 9.02 work with Editscript?sm
I read where ShortHand 8 will, but not sure about 9.2.  Instant Text sure doesn't.
I currently work with ExText and use Shorthand....
It works GREAT! I have over 15,000 shortcuts saved in it and am CONSTANTLY adding more. I work on an acute care account. HTH!
Work for them, they use Shorthand and platform sm

is Acuity at least on my particular account.

How do you put this in AutoCorrect? Wouldn't shorthand work the same way?
nm
Shorthand and Instant Text will work
Don't know about any other programs though.
Does the Shorthand program work well? I don'the know
anything about it but I just started a new job with Meditech and there is no associated program for AutoCorrect or macros. They suggested we d/l the ShortHand program which I did d/l the free 30 day trial. I haven't used it yet but I really miss macros and shortcuts...Will it be worth the $99.99 purchase price when my 30 days expires?  Thanks.
Instant Text and Shorthand both work with it. nm
x
Yes, Shorthand. They have an address datatbase that is in Shorthand, so that's what they sm
prefer you use.  nm
No work today again. System down..
How do you make a living like that?
Their system does work with satellite.
They are a decent company. I have been with them 1-1/2 years. Pay was late 1 time. Other than that it is direct deposit and on time. All of their accounts have some ESL. Yes, some of the ESL are horrible, but I think that can be found anywhere. They have a new line incentive program that is very nice as well.
We work on a tier system, the more
production, the more money for my FT job. My IC job I make 10 cpl.
Keystrokers - do you work in Word - Can you use ShortHand - How many lines for fulltime? Thanks
nm
I work for SoftScript w/ another crappy system
nm
I should say that this is for ER work, employee, Merit system. nm

fine people to work for...problematic system..sm
I can tell you that these people are a nice group and pay is reliable ..don't know much about benefits..didn't stay long enough..but they did in fact pay me their hire-on bonus even after I quit them in less than a month's time. They still use Word Perfect DOS program and drown you in paper work ..way too complicated way of working in this day in time but they supposedly are in the process of upgrading their system (???) Again, I must say the people are great...just could not deal with the unnecessary stress involved in their system.
Diskwriter

Does anyone have any input on Diskwriter?  I have been offered a job, but I am currently working for MQ with my days spent looking for work.  I need to work consistently and not have to spend all day trying to get what I need to make it.  I am sure that those of you that work for MQ can relate to this.  I don't know if is better to know the devil or find out the hard way!  Thanks to anyone who can give me some thoughts here.  I don't want to be in worse shape.

Diskwriter
I am considering Diskwriter and was wondering if anyone would like to give me any input on how they are to work for, what they pay, etc. You can email me if want. Your advice is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Diskwriter
Does anyone work for them or know about them first hand.  I see they have tons of ads posted.  Are they really that big and busy or just cannot find good people, or are they really picky??  Thanks.
Diskwriter
Does anyone work for Diskriter or know first hand about them.  I see they have tons of ads.  Thanks.
Diskwriter
Anyone know anything about Diskwriter?
diskwriter
Any info good or bad. I see their ad a lot and assume that's probably not a good sign.
Diskwriter does the
same thing. I responded to an ad they'd been posting for hem-onc and I was totally qualified. After not hearing asked why as they kept on posting! BTW, they're STILL posting.

Reply was we're not hiring in California. No reason. It doesn't make sense. Why not? If the MT is willing to commit to their rate, whatever that is.
SGS/DISKWRITER
Has anyone heard of either of these companies and if so how are they? Diskwriter and Superior Global Solutions. I am looking for truthfulness.  I saw some old stuff on SGS, but nothing on Diskwriter....Anything would be of help.
Diskwriter
Anyone work for Diskwriter?  Only posts I see are old ones.
No, not Diskwriter

Rather not say. I really like the job offer, but this is really just giving them open season to my records from now to forever. That's why I wanted to know how normal it is for places to do this. Guess I'll have to think about how much I want this job. Thanks.

Smartype
I use Smartype with Extext and it works fine. It just automatically came on when I went on Extext.
Diskwriter information
I know they require a drug test and background check.  Do they also do a credit report?  Thanks for any reponses!
Diskwriter posting

I see there is an ad posted by Diskwriter that is hospital employee status position.  Is anyone familiar with this company and how this works?  It says you get hospital employee benefits and so where does Diskwriter come in.

Stedmans Smartype
I know that Stedman's Smartype works with Word and will work with ExText on a limited basis.  Are there any platforms out there that Smartype will work with?
Smartype in EXText
When you are signed out of EXText, you have to go into your regular Word. In your Smartype menu, go to Smartype Preferences (Cntrl 2) and select the box/option for Start Smartype when Word is started. The next time you are in EXText and it brings up the Word document, your Smartline should be there and your suggestion box at the bottom of the page the way you are used to seeing it. You will just be missing the menu at the top of Word.

I should have explained this part before, I thought you were only looking for the menu. Sorry about that!

I hope this does the trick for you.
Smartype not in menu
Well, how do you turn on Smartype if it isn't listed on your toolbar?
I use Smartype and the ExText expander
nm
It's similar to Smartype. Words pop up at the
if you see the word you are typing, you can hit enter and it puts in the entire word without you having to type the rest of it.
Smartype into EXText Toolbar
Anyone know how to get the Smartype menu added to the toolbar in EXText?
Smartype in EXText toolbar
ST works great in EXText but you cannot add the menu, unfortunately. Use Cntrl 3 to add a word, Cntrl 5 to delete a word, and Cntrl 6 to modify a position while working in EXText. You cannot add a smart block while in EXText, so you will have to do that when you are logged out (or use the ESP Expander for blocks of text).
SmarType works great with ExText.
nm
Anybody running Smartype with the Medware MeriT program? (nm)

Any Amphion people use smartype or some other prodcution enhancer?

how do we work it? Easy answer - work for another company. That happened with the company
I was working for. I would wake up at 4 a.m. AND ON THE WEEKENDS TOO because they needed "coverage" supposedly and I would sit until 9:30 or noon without any work. Sorry, but my rent of $1450/month could not be paid with only $57/day. So I got another job and when I got the equipment and everything, then I quit for the other employer.
Must be a small company. I have never talked to the owner of the company I work for. sm
He wouldn't have time. Why would someone talk directly to the MTSO? Most do not know (or care) about the details just the big picture.
