Could you e-mail me privately and let me know what company this is in California?  Thanks!

I couldn't find anything either, but...
I like her communication style and it seems there will be plenty of work. She seems to be straightforward to me, so I'm going to give her a shot.

I've had similar offers where I couldn't find anything about the MTSO, good or bad, but for whatever reason got a negative vibe and declined the offer. I'm not getting this feeling with TMI, so I've accepted her offer.

Time will tell, but I'm optimistic at this point.

I googled them and you can find links about them there.
I couldn't find anyone, including TT, who would allow only ops.

I used to have a QA guy that couldn't transcribe, couldn't fill in a blank,

but was anal retentive when it came to punctuation.  You would have a report with 10 blanks in it because of poor sound quality, and he wouldn't fill in one blank, but he had put commas all throughout your report, or taken apostrophes out, etc. and he wasn't correct in his punctuation a lot of the time.   Several of the MTs complained about him and asked to not have him do their QA, so he was demoted from QA to an MT.  Well, as I said earlier, he couldn't fill in a blank.  I saw a couple of his reports and there was blank after blank in reports that I had no trouble with at all.  He also didn't proof his reports because he would have inapproriate/incorrect expansions in them.  Not sure if he left on his own, or didn't really have a choice.  Anyway, talk to your supervisor.  Maybe this person is just on a power trip, knows you are new and wants to train you to do it her way, even if your way isn't incorrect.  I think punctuation is a valid issue, but if it doesn't change the integrity of the report and there are no other errors it shouldn't be flagged by QA.    You could also take into account her corrections and maybe try to use a few more commas, etc. and that might help.

Oh, I couldn't understand them. I didn't try them all, but the first couple, I couldn't und

Ya know - I just went and googled Dictaphone
Nuance, and all these stories come up and I made the mistake of reading some of them. Boy do they paint a rosy picture of the things speech can do, with special emphasis on cutting costs for medical facilities. It made me sick to read how fantastic they make this speech recognition out to be.

Now before the pro-speech lynch mob starts hunting me down, I know that speech works out for some, but in my experience it did not make me any faster; I type very fast to begin with. I just think that it's totally unfair that nothing is being published regarding the plight of the MT, working harder for half the amount of money. I just think that we MT's should stick together and let the general public and the hospital CEOs, etc. (not that they would care) know that we are being totally screwed and that it's not all roses, rainbows and puppy dog kisses for us who are trying to make a living at this job. Someone needs to publish an article from an MT point of view for everyone to read stating exactly what we as MT's have been going through ever since this came along.

I would be totally on board with speech rec. provided we be paid a fair wage comparable to what we are used to making.

And now....I'll get off my soapbox and go back to work before it disappears out of my queue.
I googled name & phrase but may be too old sm
probably old info but may be able to catch up with her  LINK click

You should check out the Nuance website and the Focus website
Nuance is Dictaphone and since a lot of use Dictaphone equipment, you can say we all have something to do with this. If you are surprised at the website above, look at the US website of nuance. Just IMHO and try to get both sides of the corporation.

Trying to find info on Encompass on this board, can't find any recent. sm
Anyone have any current info. Any employees out there? Give me the low-down if you can! Thanks a million.
It's not at the IRS website. It is in my state website.
It is clearly written that any employer out of state is bound by the laws of my state as far as taxes. Look at your state website.
Sorry - this should be TRANSFORM. nm

Has anyone heard of Transform?? www.transformmt.com

I just got the test, and I was wondering if anyone working for them or knowing anything about them could put their 2 cents in?? Thanks ahead of time.

Transform
Has anyone who thought they did extremely well on their testing, been turned down for a job with this company? I've got 12+ years of experience and I thought I did extremely well on their testing, and was notified that I was turned down for not meeting their qualifications. First time that has ever happened, so was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them. Their standards must be set extremely high.
Name is Transform
It is in Billings Montana and a great company.  They are hiring right now.  Good luck.
Transform

Anyone have any experience with this company?  Are they flexible with shifts (maybe offer a 12-hour window)?  Pay?  Benefits?  Ease in getting lines?  Do they assign dictators so an MT can get used to their voices and phrases, etc.?

Thanks in advance for any info.  Am trying to decide whether to apply and don't want to waste anyone's time.

transform
Yes, what do what to do know about transform?
Transform
Wondering about flexibility, benefits, ESLs, pay, etc. Thanks for any info. you might have. Are you working for them now?
transform

First let me say this was my experience:  I do not work with them currently.

Positives: Pay was on time, plenty of work, benefits, direct deposit, the pay was average, I was making 8/line with an orthopedic account.

Negatives: My boss did not respond to my questions, the platform was very slow (but they to act like its your computer. I have road runner cable connection and have never had a problem with any system, except theirs). I worked 10 to 11 hours just to meet my line count (and I am an above average typist, right now I average 1800 lines a day). I worked on their orthopedic account and I have about 7 years of experience in orthopedics,  they did not have a interface for their patients, so we had to print out the doctor's patient list everyday to get their information (social #, patient ID #, date exam, etc) to put into the system, so I spent a lot of time doing research and shuffling through the different schedules. Also they did not pay for header information, which we put in. When my boss did answer me it was in a very condenscending tone. Also I only got about an hour of traning on their system.

I stayed with for about a month and gave them a 2-week's notice.  Maybe they have changed. This was in October, 2005 when I worked with them.

Good luck. PS I now work with a company that I am 98% happy with, hopefully you will find a good match for you.

transform
Wow! 98% happy with?! That's wonderful! I'm looking to make some changes, but didn't want to waste my time with Transform like I've wasted my time with these other places. I have about 15 years experience. Another option was WordZXpressed out of Georgia. I've already tried OSi out of Georgia and their platform was too slow also and the pay was low, plus they claimed I was typing clinic and paid clinic rate, but it was actually hospital because I looked it up and it said x beds, etc..... Anway, thanks for the info. Oh, who do you work for now that is so good? I won't apply if there are no openings, but was just curious about such a good company! Thanks again......
