Escription time consuming

Is anyone else having an issue with the amount of time we must spend on technical issues with escription/editscript? It seems that just being highly trained in MT is not good enough anymore Now we must be format technicians and spend most of our time doing that and not getting paid.

that's right, time consuming but the only way nm

Extext is time consuming..
I know it's a pretty good program compared to most, but after working for MDI-MD, I can tell you that it takes way too much time!  I work on MDI's Bayscribe and it's so simple!  You just go to the website, type the text into the box and click submit.  Done!  It tells you how many lines right after you type it. You can immediately start on your next report.  No delays.  I feel so spoiled by the Bayscribe system, it would be really hard to change companies!
That sounds very time consuming. nm

It is not time consuming, at least on the account I was on. sm
Was there for 2 years.  The info in header is filled in by what the doctor gives, there are no lists to look up, etc.  It was a very efficient system.  You receive the files through DVI, and type in Word or WPI.  Everything was batched, most of the ADT pulled in from the DVI.  You just pulled up a Word document, pulled in each header, filled in a few placed and typed.  Not a problem.  Of course, I can't speak for every account.  The QA is very strict.  They expect you to follow the account specs very closely.  I found it to be a great place to work, although not easy.  People were wonderful to work with.  They dumped the work on me at a given time (my choice) and I had 6-8 hours to return it.  It worked out very well.
This is ridiculously time consuming ...
Then when you aren't able to make your lines in a given pay period they have the temerity to feign a lack of understanding why.

Yes, IT IS time, I think, for you to move on and find something better. I don't know how you are compensated, but if they want to pay someone HOURLY to sit there and wade through that kind of confusion, then good on them; if not, and you're paid on production, then it's not at all worth it.

Every day work annoyances are one thing, but this kind of nonsense is quite another.
MD IT recruiting methods are time consuming sm

I took a test that took an hour.  A recruiter contacted me to interview on the phone.  Another 35 minutes.  Then I was told that I would take another specialty test.  Then after that the people at a specific MD IT location would like to talk to me.  I spent one hour and 35 minutes.  I cannot see spending more time than that without being able to ask some dang questions like what the pay is... recruiter did not know, only that it was by the audio hour!!!???  No info about scheduling.

Are we so desperate that we will give a company 2 hours of our time without knowing what is in it for the slave?

This is crap!

Take into consideration that the schooling will be the most difficult and time-consuming part...
especially when you get to the clinicals...it is full-time...
I didn't care for Ascend's platform...very time consuming
and no paid training
Futurenet require extensive, time consuming testing? I hate those you can't use foot pedal for.

If your on Escription you may have a hard time with the adapter.
I tried to have my 9-pin foot pedal that I had to use with Escription be converted to USB with an adapter from Radio Shack and it would not work. Pretty much what I have found is that if you are on the ES platform you just need to get a 9-pin. Do they not provide you with that?
It would be all-consuming to get a union going from the ground up. Could you give

Just be aware that not all Escription accounts pay the same. I worked for one company on Escription
struggling to maybe make $50 in 8-10 hours. I didnt know the difference as that was my first job on that platform and I just thought it was not a money maker. Then, I switched companies. I average $20-30 an hour and once I made $50 in an hour. I tried yet another company and I was lucky to make $9 an hour. The bottom line is that not all companies are alike, even though they use the Escription platform. What I have found is that goes according to how they set it up i.e. paying for footers, headers, spaces etc. Just dont be shocked if you dont make what you think you will. The companies know how to set it to where it benefits them and not you. As is the norm, not all companies are created equal out there regardless if they all use the same platform. That is what I am getting out.. Good luck.

I've heard that DaVenture Health Partners was recently made an approved vendor, but as of today they are not posted on the eScription website yet.
Escription????
Has anyone out there worked on Escription?  If so, what are your thoughts.  Can you make any money at it since it pays so much less?
Escription
Does anyone know of any companies that use Escription, OTHER than Transcend and MDI-FL?  Thanks in advance.

ESCRIPTION
Anyone working on escription, could you give me some advice on increasing my productivity.  Sometimes, I do okay and then other days it is so slow going.
Any MDI MTs doing eScription
If you are employee as above, please tell me how things are there - is it a good place to work?
Any MDI MTs doing eScription
That says a lot. Thanks.
MDI-FL ad for escription MTs?

Anyone work there that can give me more details? What's the pay for editing there, dictators, atmosphere, etc? Also what about the radiology ad? Do they pay by report or by line? Thanks for any help.

Escription
Do any of you use this platform?  Do you like it?  Is is productive?  Can you give a time frame for the learning curve?  Any replys greatly appreciated.......thanks.
eScription
EditScript is Word based. It's very easy to learn. Works with Word AutoCorrect to save your shortchuts, etc. Very reliable from a technical point of view. Our facility just went live about 98 days ago, all 22 MTs are loving it. Most have already increased their productivity from our old ChartScript days. Does a really good job with speech recognition even with some horrible dictators - consistency among the MTs is key to that success.

Very nice platform, very MT friendly !

Escription
That sounds great.  I appreciate you letting me know that.......I needed to hear something positive.
Escription
I used to work where they had escription but was paid hourly at that point because we had just gotten it. Sorry no help. Good luck!
What is escription? nm
x
Their pay is low for escription, which is
probably why they are always running an ad.
Escription
USUALLY, not always, the doctor puts in the MR number which automatically pulls in the patient name. Some companies have you do a type of search using that number to pull in the DOS, DOB, location, referring doc all at once.
Pay escription
I'm a little confused by the pay. It sounds like they convert edited lines into a percentage of typed lines so you aren't getting paid a per line for editing. I think.
escription
What company pays the best for escription?????  You can get through the reports fast but cannot seem to make the money as well as I can typing!  I like the fact the hands get a break but come on!
Escription
it's okay after you get used to it - haven't come close to the 600 lines per hour that you are supposed to do - and pay for editing is less than half of transcription line pay - but you definitely do not have to type as much - less stress on your hands and wrists.
escription
It is not difficult to learn but I found it to be slower than regular old typing.

Can anyone tell me which companies use eScription?

Thanks

eScription.
I've used it in clinical and hospital settings.
I only do eScription.
I only work on the eScription platform right now. I've never used Emdat/Inscribe.

I amm a radiology Transcriptionist and I would like to learn eScripition editing.  Do you know of any companies that offer training on eScription?
eScription
Go to MT Daily.  They just placed an ad looking for eScription MTs.  They might be looking for editors.  Also, try Lee Perfect.  They are always hiring.
eScription
I have never used it, but if you say it's only editing then you are probably correct. I just saw it posted on MT Daily today.
I Like eScription
I've used eScription, and I really like it.     The people at the company are great.
Well, I'm on eScription.
And frankly I've been using it so long, I can't remember what all it comes with. I have stedman's on my PC and I know EditScript has some of it's own spellcheck things in there. If you contact whomever your supervisor is, they can let you know. :-)
Escription...
an hour can you edit? Is 700 an hour really possible?? TIA
eScription
I was hired with no experience in eScription. It was not a problem to learn at all- a couple of days to get used to it. I love the company I am working for now.
eScription
I will be working eScription. UMass.

eScription Pay
I haven't noticed any changes in the way that lines are counted with eScription. Who do you work for? Maybe they've made some changes.

Also, I get 3.9 cents per line for editing (8 for typing), and I am a very happy camper. I think that eScription works very well. It isn't perfect, but it usually does a pretty good job.
I'm on 5 escription there.
I had work maybe 3 days a week for the last month.
escription
Have heard so many great things about this, is it really that good, what about 85% VR?
escription
Escription is so much better than DocQscribe. It picks up medical terms and meds more easily. You do not have to put in skip or redundant markers, which I thought took a lot of time.
