VR rate is 1/2 rate of traditional typing,I believe it is 4 cents line.

Their line rate was less than my current nat'l rate, even with mucho experience. nm

is the VR line rate 60% of the regular typing line rate?

They cut the pay to an editing rate of 4 cpl..nm

Editing Rate
A lot depends on what platform you are editing with. Escription is clearly the best. I get paid 3.9 cents per line for editing, and I am very happy with that rate. With eScription, I can edit at about 500 lines per hour. Sometimes higher.
Editing rate
Is 2-2.5 cpl for editing an MT low?
editing rate

Is 3cpl for editing a good rate with editing people, not VR?

You still get the same line rate if typing
but not when editing.  We had a conference call the other day and the managers got on the call all upbeat and happy. When they asked how everyone was the silence was deafening.  I don't think any MLS on that call was in a good mood.  He said that every account would be moved to the new platform by the end of the month.  No one is happy with the way this platform is down all the time, has crappy sound, freezes up, times out, you name it.  He said that at this time they anticipate that 60% of the work will still have to be typed because it won't be able to go to VR because of ESLs or whatever.  I was thinking to myself then I liked how he phrased it when he said at this time.  Once the software starts learning more and more that means more will go to editing and the only stuff not on editing will be the crap dictators.  It's all starting to make sense why we're hearing about so many people being started at 10 cpl or higher.  They'll only be making 6 cpl on editing or will have to type crap.  I've tested with some other companies because I'm not sticking around for their lies and garbage anymore.
What is a good rate for editing ASR
I'm sure there are many different platforms, and I don't have any info on the platform I will be using, but I have been told on the account I currently work on, I will soon have a choice of editing Speech or typing.  Can you all share recent experiences with Speech platforms and per line rate?  Thank you!
I will only do VR for the same line rate I get for straight typing. Anything less, they can keep th

Looking thru the job ads show 3-5 cpl for VR and a low-normal rate for straight typing. nm

Depends on what your line rate is for straight typing.
Plus, if you're a high producer you probably won't be able to double your line count on VR.  If you average about 100 to 125 lines per hour, you should have no trouble doubling that or more.  It might be worth it then.  If you're not getting at least half your line rate for straight typing, it definitely isn't worth it.
I don't know the current rate
So I wouldn't want to give the wrong information. When I did it, it was nearly (but not quite) double what most companies were paying. I'm sure they would be very upfront about telling you.
Transcend only pays 55% of line rate for editing...

I could have dealt with an 80% cut.  I think that is a very fair rate.  That is my whole point.  I do not have a problem with the fact that they are moving to ALL editing.  I have a problem with the cut being too large.  I think 6 cpl would have been fair.  That allows you to make a decent wage, but 4 cents is absolutely ridiculous.  If voice recognition is the way of the future, at least MQ is doing something right, at least trying to be fair.  Transcend is just greedy!!

Can someone please tell me what is a fair rate per line for speech rec editing?
Thanks in advance!
It depends on if this is editing other MT's work or VR. If VR, that is a good rate. nm

What is the average line rate for eScription VR editing? I have
heard so many different things that I don't know what's what?  Also, for those of you on eScription, what is the averages lph that you are able to do.  TIA.
Your current rate must be way higher than 7 or 8 cpl
I have more years experience than 11 and they were only paying me 8.2 cpl.  I would have had to make almost 750 lines per hour to make the amount I was making before they went to BT.  They admitted themselves that it's not possible.  It really disgusts me that they expected us who had been with them a while to continue working for them with that amount of paycut, help them educate their new VR system, work on studies to help them repair all the bugs, and then turn around and offer newbies 10 cpl.  I have no idea where the heads of these people are, but they certainly aren't on their shoulders.  I'm so happy to be out of there and for the past few weeks, I haven't felt the stress and despair that I felt every single day for months at Transcend.  That alone is worth leaving for me and the higher pay is a plus too.
I'm not talking about my current ISR rate

I was supposed to start a VR account but guess what - they kept all their editing in house and won't send anything for me to edit.  I'm not speaking of the existing ISR rate at all because I do not use it.  So when they convert I'll go straight from the big money (ha!) to the tiny money, no current SR speed bump to slow me down.

My base rate is .075 cpl FOR STRAIGHT TYPING.  Top tier adds .02 to that.  Added together the first figure is what I get for straight typing.

Webmedx also pays 70% of your current rate. nm

Does anyone know what the current family rate for insurance is with Keystrokes?
Im looking at comparison costs.
Current Deventure line rate range??
If anyone cares to share what their range is (straight typing), please post or email me. Would also like to know what the average weekly cost is for family coverage. I have read through the archives and saw info on rates, but it is old.
for MQ STAT employees tier rate applies to ME rate as well and how calcluated?
for a STAT MQ employee:  Does anyone know if the tier rate is going to be applied to the ME rate as well or are they going to go with the 80% of the MT rate for each tier level?  If the tier rate doesn't apply as well to the ME rate then going by the 80% of the MT rate is less than if the tier rate would be applied.  I'm sure that MQ is going to go by whatever keeps money in their pockets.  Guess this is a question for the supervisor tomorrow.
Need current info on ETransPlus i.e. work load, line rate (ballpark), cost of benefits, SM
and overall treatment of their MTs.  I found archived opinions but all old.  Is anyone there now that can comment?  Thanks!!
I took that to mean you can get to that rate after 1600 lines and that is not the starting rate.
:
Webmedx ASR rate is 70% of your regular line rate. sm
So if you are on a 9 cpl account, you get 6.3 CPL plus any bonus / incentives / shift differential.
Obviously editing and typing are different

One is T-Y-P-I-N-G the other is E-D-I-T-I-N-G, pretty big difference.  Of course the knowledge we need is still the same (terminology, grammar etc.), but they way we put our knowledge to use is different, and if somebody doesn't believe that they will probably never make money at VR.  (I even changed my home row on the keyboard for VR--now that took a while to get used to)

When you first started doing MT everybody how to learn how to increase your production, you didn't just start out doing 200-300 lph did you?   Same goes for VR.   I have tons of command shortcuts just for VR editing (it not just about learning short cut keys for navigation).

It is perfectly understandable that people don't want to be paid less for editing, which is why I said in my post that companies should increase pay until VR is learned, and of course 4 cpl is too low, but that is your companies fault, not the fault of VR...find another company that actually has decent pay for VR (there are some out there just look).

I got offered 7 for typing and 3 for editing
I should be crying because it's such an insult, with 15 years of acute care, but rather, I'll just keep looking and laughing. Pathetic, isn't it?
4 cpl editing/8.4-10 straight typing.
I work for DeVenture and Lee Perfect.
It's editing AND straight typing. nm
c
believe it is 8 cpl for straight typing and 4 cpl for editing, at least that is what their ad says.

3 CPL incentive for typing, 1.5 CPL for editing
I clean up on holidays!
Is this for editing VR or straight typing? Thanks again. nm

Is the ASR line rate 1/2 of transcription line rate? sm
Reason I ask is that I assume if they have ASR now that eventually all will be ASR except of course for the awful dictators as this seems to be the norm.
Supposedly, editing would be faster than straight typing
and the VR would be ONLY for those doing editing. Not everyone will be doing editing (at Transcend).
What's more productive for you, ExText editing or straight typing?

Not sure I'm gonna like this editing job

Pay rate
Thanks!!
Pay rate?
How many years of experience as an MT do you have? Our old contract was based on that - wondering if it is still going to be that way.

TIA
rate

Are there any companies who are offering 10 cpl or more for new hires on employee status these days? If so, I have yet to hear about them. From everything I have seen, with experience, 7-8 cpl seems to be the norm with shift differential and production incentives on top of that, plus, of course, any benefits offered.

I have also been very happy at MedWare. I do ER work for them along with some acute care. I have no plans to change jobs anytime in the near future.

Don't be put off by what you see. If you're at all interested, contact the recruiter. He/she can give a much better picture of what is available. Most of the time, on message boards you tend to get a higher percentage of negative comments regarding companies because the people who are happy don't typically take the time to come and write praises, while the people who are not happy are quick to vent. JMO, of course.

Top QA rate!

What would be considered the top rate being offered in the industry for QA? Does anyone know of companies paying good QA rates that they can recommed?

Thank You

Seems to be the going rate these day, but isn't
a good rate.
My rate was over $300 nm

Why is the rate so low? sm

If I have to read the entire report to verify it is correct, it takes me just as much time as if I typed the report.  My TIME is what I am compensated for.  Why don't editors make the same line rate as transcriptionists?

RE; pay rate
i'm not sure what the norm is but they claim to start out at 8.5 cpl; they claim there are 8 levels, they said they put me at level 7 - hope that helps

what do you make now?

You will get that rate

What is the going rate for...

radiology per report these days?  Been getting paid by line and now have opportunity to switch to per report so just trying to weigh the options.

rate of pay
I'm going from a national back to the hospital I left some years ago, for many reasons, one of which is they grant benefits to parttimers and I haven't had a vacation in 3 years. However, their pay rates have changed, it's paid per character (but not space), instead of by line. I wish I'd written it down. Changes in how to determine MT pay are never a good thing, so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with different methods of figuring pay. In the past, this hospital paid their MT's very generously, so I hope it can't be anything too drastic.
That is a much better rate..(sm)
I left Medquist in July and didn't have insurance coverage until I was eligible at KS in December. So I just took it and figured I would shop around for a cheaper plan at least while I was covered. I'm so glad they're getting insurance that is less expensive. Thanks!
