HAHAHAHAHA! Washington PROMOTES offshore work, not just in transcription. sm

The biggest disappointment to me is that AAMT/AHDI really does. Most of the big MTSOs use offshore, I am just small potatoes. I do not know if any of the biggest ones do not.

ScribeRight Transcription out of Washington...any info on this company?

True - but OSI promotes friends & relatives
when there are clearly more experienced, capable people who only want a chance to do something more. OSi usually has the person they want lined up already but only post the job to make it look like they have open job post. You are the kind of manager everybody would like to work for. Thank you for your comments.
hahahahaha
You can't scare MTs with big words, they are used to them!
HAHAHAHAHA
Are you a newbie????  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Spheris...hahahahaha
When I started with Spheris 3 years ago my deposit was $250.  Now, apparently, it is 300.  There is generally work except around the holidays and then you could be out of work for 2 or more days unless you want to stay up all night and keep checking your account for work and hope that you get it and someone else doing the same thing doesn't get it first.  The insurance is ridiciously high and cannot believe that a company with this many employees cannot pass any type of savings onto the employee, but they don't.  They don't pass a whole lot of things towards the MT.  No raises.  I had 9 out of 12 months worth of QA reports come back at 100% and got NOTHING.  Absolutely NOTHING.  No congratulations, no raise, no incentive, not even an email from my supervisor saying what a good job I had done.  I have a supervisor who is gone every other day or she takes 3 or 4 hour lunch breaks and hardly ever answers emails, so when you have a question that you are in dire need of an answer for, you may receive an answer within the week, but don't count on it.  I have an email folder set up on my desktop named Emails that never got an answer.  Honestly.  All I can say about Spheris is RUN, RUN, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!
offshore transcription
I can honestly understand what you're saying...I've been a Transcriptionist for 28 years, have had my own business for 8 years and refuse to send my work out of this country, even knowing that my profits would be so much higher.  If you have ortho experience contact me if you still need work.
Keystrokes will not use offshore transcription. sm
The owners feel very strongly about this.
Again, Keystrokes will not use offshore transcription
Come one, come all, if you want to work for a company that does NOT send work offshore.
Any info about TNI, LCC out of Washington? nm

MT Smith Goes to Washington

Fifty independent American MTs are traveling to Washington in two weeks to present proof, to health care administrators, patient omsbudsmen and members of Congress (who are patients themselves), of the horrific quality of overseas medical record transcription, revealing the before U.S. MT QA product which MTs see returning from Hindia-Pakiland every day.

This information, along with video, audio and documented printed proof of government instability amid the newest of terrorist attacks in and around the offshore countries, has allowed very strong case to be presented to a very interested audience.

Wish us well.

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington
As a QA person, please also stress the need for better education for MTs trained in the U.S. In my many years as an editor, I have seen an awful lot of junk produced right here at home. We need more quality 2-year Associate Degree programs and better pay in order to attract quality people to MT.  We have to dispel the image once and for all that MT is an easy job that can be done at home by anyone with a computer and, oh yes, make a lot of money at it.  The bottom line is pay.  People are not going to work for the kind of pay that is offered now, especially when they find out how much manure they have to put up with.  Two of the three schools offering MT training where I live are dropping the program for lack of interest and because they have determined there is no future in it. I wish you much luck and thank you for being willing to stick your neck out.  We all need to do that.
looks like a good job...in washington, if anyone lives there...

Washington County, IN- near Paoli Peaks Ski area
Hello friends - I didn't see this email yesterday but I'll respond anyway. I have worked as a Transcriptionist for the past six years. The first two years I worked for a local doctor until the office was re-vamped and all the work went to one person. I started looking around and found SecureMTSource out of Louisville. I have been employed with them for around four years and have only good to say. It is individually owned but is growing pretty fast. Pay is on time. My work comes from a general surgery group, any 1 of 50 doctors with only one ESL who I very rarely get. My line rate is great (if I compare it to things I read on this site). I recommend them!!
The MTs joined the same union as the nurses' in a hospital in Washington State sm
I can't name the hospital for confidentiality reasons; however, they truly is their payscale and benefits.

Also, there are unions in California Hospitals also. Those MTs also joined the same union as the nurses. Go figure.

Also, these MTs are at home employees. No kidding!!

Honestly, do your homework and you will see that this is the truth. Some hospitals are willing to pay and have union workers.

They offshore work
Some of their people are really nice but they send a lot of work offshore.  They care about the all mighty dollar and not the people that work for them....
He would have fun with the work being sent offshore

If WE are going to be nick picked for commas, semi-colons, etc., then what in the world happens to those reports being sent offshore?  They don't understand English let alone where to place a comma or not to cap a generic drug name.  When then day comes for me to correct offshoring mistakes ---- I will kiss this job good-bye.

They offshore and u run out of work!!!
You will run out of work as it is with them and when they find offshore to cover the account, you will lose all your work!!!!!!!!!  They are a lying bunch of theives!!!
It is well known they offshore their work.
They do not hide that, just wondered if it went to 100% now.
Companies that do not offshore work

Are there any companies that pay a good line rate and are good to there MTs that do not offshore there work?  I am trying to help a friend looking for part time work, but she is staying clear of those that offshore..

Any help would be appreciated.

They offshore. That's where all the easy work goes.
All that's left for U.S. MTs is ESL and difficult dictations.
They still offshore. I work for a better company
and they don't offshore.
does not send work offshore
MedScript Services in Florida
the offshore work - BTDT -

Does OSI send work offshore?

If so I won't bother.  TIA

THey offshore the good work. nm

It if offshore work. You'd be better off working
at Wal-Mart.
She's right TT does NOT send work offshore.
Never have and never will.  The day they do is the day I quit because I never have worked for a company that offshored and I never will.
OSI does send offshore work
nm
Yes. I will not work for companies which offshore.
If we all did that, the companies would have no choice but to come back and give us our jobs back.
They claim it is only 15%, but it is more like 60% offshore work.
The offshore swine get preferential treatment over the US transcriptionists. The screen shows there is work to do and suddenly everything is gone but the bad dictators, and I do not mean 10 jobs, I am talking at least 45 jobs at one time off my accounts just disappeared. I thought about changing my name to hari skrishna for a while so I could get some work, but found another job instead.
Do they send work offshore?
Just wondering.
Not much. They offshore, too. You'll get all the crap work.

I thought Transcend did not offshore work.

Work for a company that doesn't offshore

Quit Precyse. Work for someone who does not offshore. nm
.
Wbx doesn't even send work offshore. nm
.
TransHealth does not send work offshore. Hires only US MTs. nm

time to work offshore hours and grab
all you can away from the 'partners,' eh?
Work for a company that does not offshore. Save our jobs.
nm
I was offered a position editing offshore work that

was also Surprisingly good.   I knew without being told that the work was being done offshore as it was not that good.

If I were to go to India, or any other non-English speaking company I would not be able to do the work either, but then I'm not trying to compete with native MTs.  If I say I have a first rate product, then I need to be able to prove it and thus far I haven't seen it.

Work for a company that doesn't offshore. Support US MTs.
nm
I have talked to too many hospitals that do not care if the work is done offshore. sm
It is hard enough for the public to understand what we do, much less have them stand behind us in this.
Are there any companies left who don't send work offshore?
?
No need to look. Sending 90% of the work offshore has put money in the bank for me. sm
It has lowered my stress level. I work half the hours I used to. Unfortunately for those of you that have your heads in the sand, there are options for companies now that do not include putting up with what we had to for years from MT's. My accounts are happy because the turnaround times are better than ever and the quality is about the same. The offshore companies have improved greatly in the past 10 years and the quality for some of them is the same or better than some in-house departments. Even my customers are amazed when they realize this.

I tell my customers that the work is being done offshore and guess what? THEY DO NOT CARE! They just want it done fast, done right and at a lower cost. They are happy and refer us to other hospitals who also DO NOT CARE THAT IT IS BEING SENT OFFSHORE.

You are fooling yourselves if you think hospitals will not use a service if they send work overseas.

I just wish I had done this 10 years ago instead of 3.

If you think I can't sleep at night, you're wrong. Quite the opposite. I don't feel bad about sending work out of the country because I am now providing money to someone who might otherwise starve.

As Americans, we do not know what it is like to truly be hungry or need shelter. If we did, we might appreciate what we have a lot more. I certainly do now and to be honest, I am happy not to have to listen to every whine and ailment of transcriptionists and excuses all day long. I KNOW the work is getting done.
They only offshore if the client wants it. Most accounts do not want their work offshored. NM
x
Doesn't it bother you that they send work offshore? nm
nm
Wrong. Companies chose to or not to offshore work, nobody makes them. sm
My company does not offshore work, absolutely will not. We've actually gained/kept accounts assuring clients that we do not. We have many clients, cutting edge technology for both customer and employee, a healthy growth rate and a high MT retention rate. It's not impossible to have a successful USA-only based company. Sadly that may not be the norm anymore, but it's a choice MTSO/CEOs (whatever they may be) make and in my opinion maybe cutting some of the bottom line and offshoring is being done in place of producing a high quality of work that keeps a customer happy and not looking around for other service options. Subsequently I think these companies then suffer inferior work further because they are paying less and/or maybe have contractural obligations. Personally I'd like to think they'd still prefer high quality to low prices and inferior product. I have to wonder if these offshore companies are losing just as many accounts because of their product. I just know I am glad I work for a company who doesn't outsource, doesn't plan to, and has every intention to remain successful because quality does count.
My company claims the offshore work is excellent. In fact, I
xx
The thing is, if we just "suck it up" and send the work offshore to lower sm
the rates, there will be no work for U.S. MT's. There are plenty of hospitals and doctors that do not want their work offshore to keep us all in shoes.
