Happy Friday email LOL No $$$$$ made all week !! !!

How in the world could mgmt put out an email titled Happy Friday when we have had NO WORK for weeks and weeks now.  We can always look forward to such emails on Friday.


Same ole stuff about new accounts coming onboard between now and December, but what about PAYING OUR BILLS IN THE MEANTIME.  We have been LOW to NOW WORK for a VERY LONG time now.  Going deeper and deeper in a hole financially.  How is your paycheck, mgmt????

I had Vonage Friday of last week and
I work for MDI and use Charter. I don't know if my problem was with the cable or with Vonage, but I would be at the end of a job and the Vonage phone would just cut out...sometimes staying connected, just not operational for a little bit (30-60 seconds), or worse, it would just cut off and I lost the job. The job got stuck in never-never land and I could not get it back to finish transcribing it. One job cost me almost 100 lines. So, on Tuesday I got Charter's ULD...the independent sales rep gave it to me for $15/month.
The minimum is 5500 per week, NOT 6600 per week. I think you made a typo. :)

I applied on Friday and received an email
on Sunday asking about my availability for an interview. I responded on Sunday with totally open availability and I have not heard anything back. What should I make of this?
No email of any kind here. Was off Friday and Saturday
not sure if I should stay up all night waiting for something or get some extra sleep!!
Only those Good/Happy Friday emails to try to keep us from searching for jobs during the weekend

TT throws out a *line* on Friday emails, hoping that we will bite.  TT mgmt does not know what to do now !  I truly believe that !


I'm not sure that they will make it through this, if Dictaphone has taken away some of the Dictaphone accounts works and dividing it out among other Dictaphone customers.


I don't see a pretty picture at Transtech anymore.  Don't say that I am just a negative person; what is pretty about it?


When a new MTSO signs on with Dictaphone, they are going to give them work from somewhere, and I believe it is from TransTech. 


I am so disheartened by all this with TT. 


Promises for new work coming onboard is exactly what one poster said -- more Dictaphone overflow accounts!  Not enough work for ALL the MT's TransTech has hired within the past few months.  


Nope .. email on 1/18 promised "within the next week." Here we are, 1 week later and no info.

u made 300 a week? That's more than I made there.
But no work, no pay. Nice ppl, they really are, some of the nicest in the business. Just can't communicate to save their lives and the recruiters are lying dogs.

I'd say if you're looking for part-time work, as in less than 20 hrs a week's worth of work, then this place is for you. Use them as ur backup. Because guaranteed that's all they're using you for.


Deliveries are only made twice a week.

like these national companies.  The national companies promise it to get the accounts, and hardly ever deliver on that promise.  I do not deliver pizza or I'd be on a different board called PizzaStars! 


Tapes are old fashioned, but the money still is green and spends like digital money!

I had the mindset that whatever habits/rules I learned from prior employers, if contradicting what W or their clients want, had to be unlearned.  You have to please the entity that issues your paycheck, and that takes whatever it takes, IMHO.  So there's no point in arguing what is right or not right. If you can't adapt to the requirements of a new job, I guess you need to keep looking or go back to where you were before.
$900 ppd is not going to cut it with me. I made a heck of a lot more than that in a 2-week period.

Yes and it is the truth, thank you very much. I did get my line counts from DAY ONE. Getting to 1100 is easy, it is getting from 1500 to 2000 that is real work.

I would say that 2000 lines a day is DOABLE. Week one, made my 5500 lines. New pay period, have 12,000 for 2 weeks. I am shooting for 100 lines a day more each week until I hit 1500 lines a day, every day. I will then increase by 50 lines a day until I am at 1700 to 1800 every day. This is where my budget tells me I need to go.

I also work an IC position in addition to TT. I have about 500 lines a day there, just put in an hour or two, rarely three and for now, I need the money.

TT is wonderful in many ways. I often find errors from other MTs in old reports being from the month I have been there. Some are not as careful as they should be and are after line counts. I am after line counts too, but it was not my first goal, getting of QA was my first goal. That and I give a flying crap about my work! It would be good if they did audit after an MT is off of QA or if we had a system to report errors we find, but there aren't these things. Oh well.

They treat me nice and have lots of work. THAT is my business, not the way the company is run or what they do.

If she made the new email up to make it look fraudulent, when the VP hit reply to wish her luck, it would be delivered to her.  Interesting story to say the least, I don't know the OP or have any dealings with the company she's talking about, but her story smells fishy to me.  I agree with the other poster, why on earth would a company go through that much trouble to let someone go?

no matter what year...........if you made $70,000 typing and now you do VR... keep telling yourself you are happy now making peanuts.
Made 1200-1600 per week paid on a gross line for 5 years!
It CAN be done. The key is either a really high line rate or canned text over and over again with very small accounts. I had a little of both and then some harder stuff thrown in. It also helps if you work like you are on fire most of the day. Needless to say, that gravy train ran out of juice and now I am back to *normal* pay of around $750 per week at another company. SO many variables out there with the *how much do you make?* question.

Wondering if they forgot me... or if perhaps TT isn't doing anything for us this year...


Just remembering the days of working at the hospital, and being spoiled to lunch out and a gift every year.  Every day we'd have games and quizzes and winners.  Even though we were at home, made us feel like this week was special... any TTers know if this week will have any hidden surprises? Would be nice to have something to look forward too... and please, no flame wars here, just wanting to know if this week is honored at TT...


happy MT week - my job has just been phased out....
Well, I guess all good things come to an end, just thought I would have more warning.   My shift lead job with one of the larger companies has just been phased out.  I was hourly so now I have to go back production, which is going to be an adjustment, but just wish they had given me more warning.  Told us today and job gone as of Sunday.  Oh well, I was really enjoying being able to pay my bills, lol. 
I've been there about a week now... I'm very happy. sm
I got a decent line rate, trainers are helpful and kind, QA is quick and helpful but not overbearing or rude.  My account has great dictator, a few difficult ones but for the most part even those are better than some I've done elsewhere.  I like the platform I'm working on also DocQscribe.  So far I'm happy and hope to make them my permanent home as an MT.

Wrong. The person who was fired this week was from Keystrokes. I just got an email

from someone asking if was me posting here tonight, so I came to look.   I agree with a lot that the poster has to say but I post my name when I post.  Anyone who knows me or of me knows this.  I do not have to post behind anonymous names nor do I. 


I do disagree with some of what this poster says though and will take a moment to tell her/him something:  You chose to run a service and knew or should have known what you were getting into.  If you are doing all that, you should either hire more people or hire different people.  The best move I ever made as a service owner was learning to delegate and hiring the right people including Human Resources, Accounting, Operations, QA, Recruiting and IS.  (The second best move I ever made was to stop letting the posts on the MTStars and others affect me).  Best advice I could give a service owner is to cough up the money for a good staff; it is worth it in the long wrong although hard in the short term.


While not everyone agrees with me or likes me or wants to work with Keystrokes, I do not feel a need to hide behind the anonymous nature of these boards and would rather have people know where I stand than wonder.


You would also know that I value our transcriptionists and know that as a company, Keystrokes constantly tries to improve.  If you know me at all or anything about Keystrokes, you would also know that our rates are going up not down and we do not undercut prices to beat our competitors. 


If anyone has anything to say to me directly, please use my email.  I do not visit here often anymore and do not plan on starting again as it gets a bit addicting :)

I do not want to post the name of this particular company but has been on this board several times. You do your days and times and then nothing. I have bills to pay and wish the companies could get our money to us just like we are there to type their reports.

I wish that people who get into this profession would understand that hospitals operate 24/7/365. My daughter is a registered nurse and does not demand a m-F schedule and YES she does have children. You got into this profession because of having kids at home and wanting to be a stay at home mommy. Well, 30 years of experience under my belt and most of the companies that I have spoken with allow me to work the hours that I want to work because of the fact that in general, I put in 12 hour days and even work weekends and dont take a day off unless I need to, due to illness or whatever and also, due to the fact that if I do have an emergency, I let someone know in advance and just not refuse to work

today what with every body biting each other's heads off and getting all *snarky* over things that don't really matter. Get a grip you all, have a cold one, and mellow out! geez. some of Y'all are just LOOKIN' for an argument and if you can't get one going, you'll start one! sick *o this stuff. I think most of the people in this thread need a good long ol* fashioned *time out* in the corner!
Full time with Transtech is both. 40 hours per week and 5500 lines per week.

P.S. He briefly told me on Friday

He specializes in this field and knows the laws of companies versus IC status.  He is a long time friend of the family so it won't cost me much and well worth every penny of whatever I do have to pay. 


Monday-Friday, First Shift?
Does anyone know of companies that have accounts with Monday to Friday, first shift positions? Personal obligations do not allow me to work weekends or evenings and so many companies want this. If I could do it I would, but it is not possible, and they all seem to want weekends and second or third shifts. I really need to find something. Any help greatly appreciated.
I am hoping for Friday but it could be Monday. sm
The pay period just ended yesterday. With over 400 employees it might be difficult to get it all done by Friday but I sure am crossing my fingers!
