Adept Word
I have a few friends who used to work for Adept Word and based on their experiences, I wouldn't recommend it.  I didn't work there, so I can't offer anything firsthand. Sorry.
Adept Word
I'm new to this board and not too good at it, I guess.  I just posted a reply to this message, but it doesn't show up.  I was surprised to see this post because I worked for Adept Word for a while and I really liked them.  Everybody is really nice.  They do expect your work to be good and they have a lot of work.  I always got lots of support and answers to my questions.  Even though I'm new to this board I can see there's been a lot of chat about fitting in, and I think Adept Word takes newbies.  Everybody's always complaining about companies not taking newbies, but I think one reason they don't is because it's a lot of work to get started in this business.  Adept Word does take newbies, and I think that increases the odds that people won't work out.
Adept Word

Does anyone have any info on Adept Word?

Thanks!!!

Does anyone have info on Adept Word? Thanks. nm

Adept Word Mgmt.
I used to work for them when I lived in Texas and I did not like them at all. Don't bother....
Adept Word Management

I was just wondering if anyone currently works for Adept, and how much they like/dislike the company.  They seem like a wonderful company, and I have been offered a position with them.

TIA

Does anyone work for Adept Word Management
and if so are they are good company?  Do they pay on time and are they flexible with schedules?  Is the work steady?  Thanks in advance for any information you can give.  Have a great day!
Anyone ever heard of Adept Word Management? nm
Thanks
Has anyone worked for the Word Pros on an as-needed basis? Thanks. NM

Anyone with info on The Word Pros or anyone who has worked on an as-needed basis? NM
nm
I havent heard a word about an incentive and I have worked there almost 2 years so I guess I didnt
qualify for whatever status you needed to get an incentive. Is this something you get every pay period if you meet a quota or just something quarterly. Just curious.
OMG! LMAO! So worked up over 1 word? Better quit posting, her head's gonna explode!...nm

Adept
I had several friends who worked for her, but they've all left.  Based on their information, I wouldn't recommend Adept to my worst enemy.
Adept
Because I found this post thru doing some SEO research on the company I work for, I feel compelled to answer this.

I am no longer able to work outside my home. It's been a struggle to find the legitimate work from home situations.

Rest assured, Adept Word Management is a great place to work. I'm not even in the MT side of it, I type General Work, things not of a medical nature. There's plenty of work most of the year and even in winter, I made enough to cover my bills.

I've had absolutely no problems with getting paid, as well.

I would highly recommend Adept.
Did YOU work for Adept?
Did your friends do a good job? Did they get jobs working anyplace else? Maybe they aren't very good at what they do and that's why they had a bad time at Adept. Hard to say, since you don't mention any names.
Working for Adept

I haven't had much experience with other companies, but I've worked with Adept Word Management for over a year, and I love it!  I've always had prompt response to questions/issues.  Everyone I've encountered connected with Adept has always been helpful and supportive.  I've never had too little work, and there's never been any delaying in getting paid.  In short, I've found the work load very reliable, had positive interaction with the owner and any others associated with the company, and have never been waiting around for a check.  I wouldn't hesitate at all to fully recommend working with Adept. Good luck!

Lots of people work for Adept and LOVE us
Would Adept hire you back? It's a two-way street, you know? This is irresponsible.
The platform is Word. Their program works with Word but does not change how Word works. nm
The benefits just changed the first part of this month. I don't have them but I remember them being reasonabl for a single person. Family and spouse was not reasonable in any way (in my opinion).
small to medium company that works in Word or Word-based program - email me. nm
nm
ExText is integrated with Word. Auto correct is a part of Word.
ExText is a Word based platform. When the page opens for you to type the document it will be just like you are typing in MS Word.
anyone work for Oracle - do they use Word or a Word-based program - e-mail me nm
nm
Just wanna work in Word - need company that works in WORD! nm

Their program works with Word and does not change how Word functions. sm
You use your own expander. Overall I feel it is user friendly and I like it.
Does the Emdat platform use Word or is it Word-based? nm

Word for Word Medical Transcription
Pros and cons please.
In his ad, he's asking for Word Perfect, not Word, if that matters. nm
s
The platform is not Word, but it is Word-based. I
had little Word experience and the recruiter told me to try to find a book to learn the basics of Word as their program is Word-based.
Now I wish they would just call me back......no word no word and
What is up with these MT companies that advertise. They don't even answer. I have a great resume, tons of experience. I'm confused.
word for word company
does anyone know about word for word transcription company?  how are they to work for, platform?  thanks in advance!
I was told I could use word pad since I don't have word

I have 1 computer to speak of that I did not buy personally.  the company has their own platform and their own computer to be rented.  I would not be typing in word.  I have never had a problem testing this way before.  I am not saying certified is better.  I was explaining my circumstance.  I have my own personal computer ordered for my use and I wanted to test fast without waiting. geez.

"overtime" is not a generic word. "incentive" is a generic word. Over time means time

I worked for a temp agency for 3 years..LOVED it. Just worked. No counts, no hassels, GREAT pay..
No benefits at the time.  I even learned pathology while temping (8 months on that assigment).  I loved the variety, the ability to say I'm not available such and such time.  I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I didn't need benefits.
A company is ONLY supposed to verify that someone worked there, what dates they worked, whether PT o
and last date worked. It opens everyone up to a lawsuit if more is given, so most companies are told by their attorneys and business advisors to verify only.

No one has a right to a reference, only verification of employment.
It worked! Latest suggestion from DJ's email worked. nm

If I worked a longer day, I just put my regular shift, 3p-11p, or whatever. If I worked sm
an extra day, then I was told to fudge the hours around on the other days so it all came out to 40.  I didn't really mind -- have learned not to expect overtime in this profession -- and I was happy to be able to work whenever I needed to get the lines I needed.  However, them telling me directly to fudge on my time sheet would seem to be a violation of the wage and hour laws.  I suppose it doesn't matter now if they do not even have enough work to make the minimum line count necessary.  Several of the companies I thought were golden seem to have gotten a bit tarnished lately … sad.
Glad it worked for you. I have worked for companies
that were more reliable and paid without the delay I had. Maybe you started before they started doing that but it makes no difference. I TOO am a single parent.

You are not trying to argue? Sounds like you not only are trying to argue but you are just waiting for anyone to post anything about the co on here so you can just get out there and respond, which seems to be the way I have always noticed it. It's like all the MTs or whoever that work there are just waiting to respond.

This board is about the good points and bad points about companies. I am telling my experience.

The people were nice people though, but my experience was not a good one and I will not say it was.

I can go a week after the end of payday and even 10days later but that's it. Kids would starve.
Best company I have ever worked for, and I have worked for a lot!
I can't believe some of the things these people say here, and have to wonder if it just the same person or two bashing. I have been at MDI for four years and I do not have a low workload and I get treated very, very well.
They one I am not sure of. I have always worked FT for them. I have worked both IC and employee
and I always did way over 12,000 a pay peroid. I am sure they are pretty comparative to other companies. You definitely could contact a recruiter by applying if they would answer all of your questions up front. Good luck.
In Word..
Select the tools menu and then Autocorrect. Then check the box next to capitalize First letter of sentences.

Are you using Word? sm
If you are using Microsoft Word you can change the background to something that suits your eyes and the text to a lighter color.
One word - RUN!!!!
Owner is not all there, if you know what I mean. There are better places to work. Let them hire overseas. Perhaps those workers will put up with their garbage treatment.
Everything is done in Word
plenty of samples though, and she pays per gross line, not 65 characters.
Word
I have Word 2003 and it works just fine
A (only one word)

One word? Looks like 6 to me.

word for word
I worked for them and they can be fair, which is hard to find these days with others. I was a new MT and they gave me a chance that no one else would consider doing. good luck
Same here...no word nm

The new word for lay off.

The new word is idle, used as a verb.  I doubt that the MTs will remain idle for long.  What terrible writing, and what a terrible deal for MTs.  I wonder whether Ormond will be happy when people from another country are transcribing his family's medical records.

Meanwhile, the company issued a federal layoff notice this week that it will idle 102 workers in its Heartland Information Services medical-transcription unit. Seven employees are in Toledo. A company spokesman said the cuts will occur in early July.

Toledo Blade.

Still no word.....sm

Patience is not one of my greatest virtues! lol  Anyway, if someone gets a response from Editors Wanted, could you email me please?  Thanks!

Take MY word for it, -
I simply must disagree...
Take my word for it,
I've been paid both ways. Yes, they will say that all the exams equal themselves out, but with CT and MRI exams, etc. you can get some really long reports. You may get lucky and have short reports, but I highly doubt it!
