TTS is owned by Linda Kelley
She works for Medware. How their business arrangement works - do not know.
Actually, it's Kelley, not Kelly
..
In my experience, MedWare has been like that. nm

THANK YOU!!!! I posted about my experience with Medware
but was blasted off the boards for being honest. My thoughts are that some people rave about it because they don't know any better. The line rate was 1.5 cents less than what I make elsewhere. Too many emails and documents. Lousy, short dictations. I didn't know they offshored until the recruiter offered an Editor position.
I have never worked for Medware.
I have never worked for Medware. What they have in common is ExText and are PSPs for Dictaphone. Medware does not fund anyone and TTS is a totally independent company. I know many of the old crew who were at Medware and they had a great crew and probably will again some day if their heart is truly in it. When people move on they hopefully weight their options and make the best decision they can for themselves. I have had the summer of enlightenment with this industry and having a very hard time maintaining my own good humor about it, frankly. I do know this .. there are still great companies out there who keep a low profile and just get it done. They don't go for the glitz and have to be the biggest and the best and toot their own horns. They just do it the best way they can each and every day .. and that is really what it should be all about each day, the safety of the patient and having a life outside of work that you can call your own.
I worked for Medware in the past, and
at first it was great!  They were advertising for ER which was what I wanted, but when I applied they said no ER so I was given Acute Care.  The first few months were great.  I was in hog heaven.  Then overnight things changed and I had nothing but the worst ESLs and my pay went downhill big time!!  I tried to get things resolved, so no luck.  Otherwise it was great.  Easy platform, good communication, etc.  If you are lucky enough to get and KEEP good accounts, then it is great!
Anyone worked for both Medware and Precyse?
nm
Medware of TransHealth? Anyone worked for both?
nm
Have worked for Medware and now at Precyse.(sm)

Medware turned out to be a really bad place to work, changes taking place there all the time and NOT good ones.  I am very pleased with everything at Precyse.  Great benefits.  Great platform.  Great people at Precyse, love working with them.

When I trained/worked for Medware,
more than 2 hours because the trainer like to gab and not necessarily keep on track with the training. So, no guarantee that you will be finished.
I was not WRONG. I worked for Medware, so I know how they operate.
I did not receive a software bundle beyond that which was built into the system.  I did NOT receive a standalone version or disk of any software.  I AM NOT WRONG.  I also could care less if you're happy or not, because your attitude certainly is not that of a happy person.  So go back to your offshoring, lying company and stop trying to get the last word in when YOU are INCORRECT on ALL COUNTS.
What line rate does Medware pay for 28 years experience but no CMT status for an employee, also
is the pay higher for IC?
Years ago I knew a completely blind lady who worked for Medware (nm)
x
My experience is I worked about
the archives before applying.  Much of it was about bad QA, a horrible platform and bad dictators.  My QA experience was actually very positive and I had someone who was patient and took a lot of time attempting to help me adjust.  It was very personalized which I loved.  I almost felt guilty when I decided I had to leave.  There is no way I was going ot pay my bills or enjoy coming to work each day.  The dictators and voice files were terrible. The platform was just no frills.  Nothing good or bad about it in my opinion except maybe a little slow?  The office staff was friendly enough but I don't think they actually knew what they were doing.  Maybe they were new to the company too?
Her first name is not even Linda...
Her first name is NOT Linda, so could it be possible that the rest of your post is not credible either? You should, at the very least, get the facts correct before you post things, especially if they can ruin a person's reputation. I found the owner to be very accommodating and easy to work with, and as I said in my first post, I was paid in full. I left on very good terms and would not hesitate to work with her again in the future.
Hi Linda
Thank you for replying to my post. I would love to get some additional information regarding this company, if you would be willing to email me? I am curious as to benefits (I noticed that they are available to FT IC's), pay scale, etc. Thank you again for your help!
Is that you, Linda C?
How's it going?
Thanks, Linda s/m
Yep, the gourd is still around.  No plans to change my moniker.  I've been around a long time going back to the days when clerk/typists were the medical transcriptionists using the old manual typewriters, you know, the ones where you had to fling the carriage return at the end of every line?  How great it was when the electric typewriters came into being.  LOL
It's been my experience that it ends on your last day worked. nm
xxxxxxxx
I had this experience when I worked for Precyse.
Glad to be gone from that nonsense.
Linda, don't worry about the VR.

Linda, don't worry about how long it takes you to learn the shortcut keys in VR.  You are doing great at just a few weeks into it.  It will take time for the speed to build up.  I have been doing MT work for 5 years, VR for 4 of those years and I love it.  I kow there are some negative posts on this forum about VR, but it has allowed me to keep working as an MT even though I had so much pain with carpal tunnel syndrome.  I routinely do 350-400 lph on DP ExText Turbo Speech and some MTs at my company do much higher than that.  I see only positives in doing VR for someone like me, since I am no spring chicken.

Hang in there and give it more time; it will get MUCH easier and you will get fast very quickly.

ATTN: LINDA WITH ORACLE

Linda, I posted a response to you on the previous message regarding oracle but it has now been moved to the second page.  I sent you an email through MTStars but you can also click on my name and send me an email.  I would to get some additional information from you regarding Oracle.

TIA

Comments on Lee Perfect and Linda? nm

Linda got the "coffee" notion from me.
I was responding on a thread about 3 cents a line pay, suggesting that that rate might do quite well on an account with a good proportion of fairly clean reports coming through. I used to work on a couple of those, and the best reports were scary good--virtually no changes made. Some required few, most required some, and some required more than some. If you know what I mean. :)

I should, however, have gone on with the perspective that my company currently pays me over 7 cents a line because even the relatively good reports on these accounts require a great deal of cleanup. To put it mildly, what is an appropriate line rate for this work depends on the amount of editing needed.

Linda, you'll get still better, of course, but you seem to be on the right track in evaluating whether VR system + accounts +line rate equal a satisfactory bottom line.

BTW, sipping coffee (or eating dinner as someone else does) at 3 cents a line means you're scanning those reports intensely, full attention, as fast as you can manage. I definitely like it better than typing docs, but even on the best accounts it IS real work, with brain hard at the shoveling while fingers stand around holding the wheelbarrow.
I worked for this company and it was the worst experience of my career.
I would advise you to search the archives on this board. You will be able to make your own decision based on that info.
Only if you need the experience I guess. I worked some real low-paying ones -
in the beginning for that reason. If you mean the letterhead and like page numbers, then no. But if you're referring to the headings like HPI, PMH, etc., those should be included. You have to put them in. I know at least 1 company that cleverly didn't pay for them. That was quite a few years ago. I quit in 3 mos.
Absolutely not. In my recruting experience many were old-timers having worked
It is frightening.
I had a good friend who worked for them and had an awful experience.

She said that the work load was sporadic at best.  They would either be drowning in work or starving.  She said that her pay was late two or three times and when she questioned management on it they were extremely rude.  She said that the owner/manager of the company was a nightmare who was prone to screaming fits and berating those who disagreed with her.

You can take this for what it's worth.  I hope it helps with your decision.

Linda, you are soooo right, when I was younger and dumber....sm
I was sooo afraid of using shortcuts, I watched the screen like a hawk and typed everything verbatim and screwed myself out of so much money!  I wondered what the secret was to all those MTs who would chat up a storm, and till make a higher line count than me, and they had less experience....They used their shortcuts/expanders for everything, and once I learned this and worked on mine, my line count zoomed and I consistently made high incentive pay and bonus....don't underestimate this tool.  Thanks for bringing this up, Linda!
Speaking from experience.. you work all day and make nothing. I also have worked for other companies
on Escription and made a lot more.I just came to the conclusion that they do not pay for headers, footers, spaces etc.. I swear I would work 8 hours and be lucky to make $50. It was my first Escription account so when I changed companies I could not believe it. I make in a few hours what took me 10-12 hours to make at Focus. Dont waste your time. They design it so you dont make any money. What a waste of time working there.
I worked for a temp agency for 3 years..LOVED it. Just worked. No counts, no hassels, GREAT pay..
No benefits at the time.  I even learned pathology while temping (8 months on that assigment).  I loved the variety, the ability to say I'm not available such and such time.  I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I didn't need benefits.
A company is ONLY supposed to verify that someone worked there, what dates they worked, whether PT o
and last date worked. It opens everyone up to a lawsuit if more is given, so most companies are told by their attorneys and business advisors to verify only.

No one has a right to a reference, only verification of employment.
Here, here. Exactly my experience also, even down to the 10 year work experience. nm
:+
It worked! Latest suggestion from DJ's email worked. nm
nm
If I worked a longer day, I just put my regular shift, 3p-11p, or whatever. If I worked sm
an extra day, then I was told to fudge the hours around on the other days so it all came out to 40.  I didn't really mind -- have learned not to expect overtime in this profession -- and I was happy to be able to work whenever I needed to get the lines I needed.  However, them telling me directly to fudge on my time sheet would seem to be a violation of the wage and hour laws.  I suppose it doesn't matter now if they do not even have enough work to make the minimum line count necessary.  Several of the companies I thought were golden seem to have gotten a bit tarnished lately … sad.
She's giving work TO Medware, or is Medware giving work to her company? Medware has no work. nm

Glad it worked for you. I have worked for companies
that were more reliable and paid without the delay I had. Maybe you started before they started doing that but it makes no difference. I TOO am a single parent.

You are not trying to argue? Sounds like you not only are trying to argue but you are just waiting for anyone to post anything about the co on here so you can just get out there and respond, which seems to be the way I have always noticed it. It's like all the MTs or whoever that work there are just waiting to respond.

This board is about the good points and bad points about companies. I am telling my experience.

The people were nice people though, but my experience was not a good one and I will not say it was.

I can go a week after the end of payday and even 10days later but that's it. Kids would starve.
Experience versus not as much experience
--same job should equal same pay?...Come back and talk to me in 20 years...
For the most part, old school MTs have a ton more to offer than a newbie, by virtue of the amount that they know. Most old school MTs can do just about any kind of report, because they learned the old way, they used books--Dorland's was a bible--not software and spellcheck, they worked in house, in the environment, they understand things that a new person who has only worked online with their word books, shorthand, macros and software just cant understand.. Why things are done in a certain way... Why it is so important that certain documents are treated a certain way. Why some reports are stat versus others. What you might flag for the hospital and why... When you think you know everything, esp as a newbie, you are doomed my friend.
Also, cont education is something that most old school MTs understand is a benefit for them and a gift to themselves...part of their commitment to themselves and their own education, not a commitment to being a certified MT, it is a personal thing, a standard.
If you don't understand that, I don't know what else to tell you.
Sure newbies can transcribe, it isn't rocket science, but they know what they know, if you know what I mean..(and that's about all they know) if they don't care to continue their education once they are out of MT school.
There's a little more to it than what you have stated here. If you consider yourself an MT machine.. you will burn out sooner than you think.
Best company I have ever worked for, and I have worked for a lot!
I can't believe some of the things these people say here, and have to wonder if it just the same person or two bashing. I have been at MDI for four years and I do not have a low workload and I get treated very, very well.
They one I am not sure of. I have always worked FT for them. I have worked both IC and employee
and I always did way over 12,000 a pay peroid. I am sure they are pretty comparative to other companies. You definitely could contact a recruiter by applying if they would answer all of your questions up front. Good luck.
Medware
Does anyone have any comments on working for Medware?  Thanks!
Medware
Thanks for your input!! I'm job shopping and want to make a better decision this time.
Medware
Does anyone know what Medware is paying these days? They seem to have a lot of ads for help in transcription and for the Dictaphone platform.
medware pay

I went through their whole testing bit, got called twice for interviews, once with a guy and then once I passed the test, some lady called me.  They said I did well on the test, but they only offered me 7.5 cpl (5 yrs exp).  I need more than that so chose to not go with their company.

Medware for me
Love my account, direct deposit every 2 weeks and the insurance is affordable.  My supervisor is really cool and understanding, we get along great.  1 year and counting, hope for many more.  Good luck to you.
Medware
Hi! I just started with them last week and so far it has been really great. They are all really nice and I have had wonderful training. You get paid by the hour for the first 4 weeks so you have time to learn the system (which the system itself is excellent and extremely easy)Your rate is determined by experience so I don't know other than my own. I guess you have to ask them about the schedule, but mine is just what I need. The staff is very, very nice. I think you would really like it. If you will notice, there is tons of negative stuff about all the MT companies on this board, but Medware has a lot less negative than some of the others (I looked through it before I started.) I think you should try it.
I am with Medware
Easy platform, good pay, good people, flexible schedule. Just what I need.
Osi does and I think Medware nm
