Sounds strange to me.. They would make me nervous as that should be the first thing they discuss.. or at least that is what I would want to know right off before I wasted my time with them.
Oh no.. Can you elaborate or privately email on what happened..That would help me immensly. Thanks.

in my experience, working privately is the only way to be appreciated; the only way where you get a pat on the back for a job well done; whether it be a smile or a thank you or being invited to the company picnic or christmas party, a place where people know your name and know when they dictate into a microphone, they might say hello or good morning or have a good weekend, that they know there is a real live person on the other end trying to do the best damn job for them because they are appreciated. you don't get that with online companies. you are just a 'number' who is required to produce in 'numbers' in record time, again there are the 'numbers'
I asked this before and got an email.
I got an email from somebody who recently left that all their accounts are going to be on speech recognition and the rate is ridiculous.  Guess more than a few people left or are leaving. Funny how nobody will answer except for email.

It was just your basic recruiting email, probably got my address from an AHDI/AAMT membership list. Come work for us, we have competitive wages - I deleted it right away b/c I'm happy (obviously!) at Webmedx!

getting new MTs because they quit all the time.

ALWAYS had work.  It is slower now, probably because of new hires, but we've been busting *ss for 4 months+ now and I'm enjoying a slack time.  I'm still getting my lines and often get extra.

BG (Bowling Green) BRANCH OF MEDQUIST before it closed.

I too have asked for a different account as mine of 3 years..sm
has now consistently been out of work...as well as my secondary! Up until recently I never even had time to do my secondary as my primary had tons of work but suddenly neither have. I have emailed Dorothy and indicated I needed more only to be told things will pick up. This is not a holiday thing as it has been happening for months now. I am looking for at least another part-time job which may turn into full time. I think we are getting the run-around and they have over hired and want to keep it that way so the reports are running a few minutes behind the dictators. Also, now that they have over hired they probably don't care too much if some of us have to leave! Bad situation for what was a great company.

Has anyone ever found out their account went overseas and were you asked to proof it. Just curious
since it seems like a lot of them are sailing across the ocean.
Maybe you asked the wrong person. I am sure that not everyone is privy to all account information.
I know that there are at least 2 more in the works, being converted over. How do I know? I am the lead on one of them and have been involved with the conversion for the past 3 weeks.

The only people who know would be KB, LT and PG for sure as they handle sales and operations.

Thursdays and Fridays. It is an internet-based account and a good one but I have enough work on my primary.
Sad but true. You're asked to work NOW, then asked to stop NOW, then go again and then stop
If you dont get off the minute the hospital asks, even if you have no idea that they have requested that your to be off, then the hospital MTs steal your work right out of your queue and I mean reports you have already done. I dont understand the concept of having a contract with a hospital and then having to fight for work with the hospital MTs. We should have guaranteed work during our shift and enough of the the hospital wants you to help right now and then a few hours later they want us to stop working as the work is too low. It is crazy and I couldnt work like that so I had to quit.

I was told it is hard, but now I am worried that I may have gone in over my head.

I am concerned. I was told that there was a lot of work, that it is a big account that I was just hired for. I hear good things and bad and it can be really confusing!
Then when we MT's are **thrown on** an account because of lack of work on our account

What is so hard to understand about that? 


Then we have that account info filed away in a folder in our Outlook Express by name of account and can look at past emails sent out regarding that account.  Not fun to be tossed on an account that you have never seen NOR ever received an email on.  Sounds like business to me.

Tu-Sat with the 24-h window for the account I will be on. Other than that, I believe it is Tu-Sat or Sun-Thurs
I asked for more work...
and will be starting a new primary shortly.

I find they are extremely cooperative in helping their MTs meet their needs.

Being asked to work all your days off?
First let me state for those who will say get out of the business if you don't like it, I am NOT complaining. I am posing a question to my fellow MTs to see if they are asked the same thing, and how they react. Here's the scenario, no to very little work during the week and then you are asked to work the weekend. This is not your only account and you already work 6 days a week as it is. Do you work your only day off? Of course there are no incentives or OT offered. I don't want to seem like an uncooperative employee but dang, I need at least ONE day off!!
When I asked about less and less work, I was told
that no MDI work is being done by Transcend because they have no access to the MDI platforms / clients. It was suggested that the economy may be taking its toll.

and I didn't really think it would be like pulling teeth because MOST people at Transcend are willing to help when you ask WITHOUT the attitude.  But if you post on the forum like you do here, it's obvious who you are.

When I was hired, they asked me what work types I liked from sm
best to worst. I have progress notes last. I hate them but get a few every day-type them anyway. Wish I got more op notes but H&Ps and consults keep me real busy.
I haven't but the company I used to work for asked
MTs to take a cut or risk losing the account because the account wanted to go offshore. 
They asked me to work OT every week, NEVER paid
any OT, did not get raise after 90 days.  They said I would but it never happened. 
If it is any consolation, I work at CS too, and I asked Rahul if we would sm

paid on Friday, and he said something like we'll try, so there is still hope.     I hope it is Friday, too, as the coffers are a bit low at my place, but I will be happy to see it on Monday, if that is what it takes.
