I'm not quite sure why people keep giving companies who don't pay bennies the nod. sm

I guess it's all relative.  A lot of MTs, because of health problems, cannot get benefits on their own.   There are enough good companies out there, who pay as much as futurenet, who DO pay benefits, thank God.  AND they have direct deposit as well, which is pretty important to some people.  Gosh, even the smallest services have direct deposit.  Not understandable in a company anymore that they don't provide it.  Glad you are happy, but there are better deals out there.

Any companies offer bennies for
nm
Best companies for radiology (pay, work, bennies)?
Any input appreciated - need to leave the convention center...
Any info on Diskriter? Other companies FT with bennies?
I keep seeing jobs for home-based MTs with hospital benefits, employed by the hospital system in Florida, etc. I'd sure appreciate if anyone could provide info on this company. I've love to be in a work situation like this again, but know nothing about the company. I'm sick and tired of MQ. Need a FT situation with good benefits and MQs are so expensive and I think the out of pocket is ridiculous compared to what I've always had in the past. Thanks so much.
Any companies out there paying 9.5 to 10 cpl for employee status with bennies?

Please!.   I am looking.    I have 20+ years experience in all work-types, acute care, multispeciality clinic, 98% and above on accuracy, 1600 lines per day.   I'm sort of desperate, but don't want to settle!

You say giving work to poor people in America is a
zz
expose the companies by giving their name
nm
And furthermore, you can see this hits a sore spot, this giving people backup accounts and then
you run out of them is also ridiculous. There you sit making less and less money and trying to learn multiple dictators and then guess what, that dries up.  Once you know that is what a company is doing, then you go to your alternate plans and never look back.  Sooner or later when MTs either decide no more or they get multiple jobs and they have to keep hiring and hiring which impacts their quality I am sure it will settle down.  At least, I would hope so although it doesnt seem to be right now.  Could be because of sending work offshore not sure.  All multiple backup accounts do is make it harder to make money and you have more problems with QA and your own quality because you just keep popping in and out of all these accounts that you really dont get to know that well.  Knowing an account well is the best way to go for quality and line count for sure, NOT multiple accounts.  All that does is help the MTSO keep the work caught up to the exact MINUTE.
I think you're giving all these companies the same grade and that (sm)

is not the case.  There are some that will rip you off, change your pay, etc. like one mentioned above on this board.  There are other evil ones who will intimidate to get their work done and others who will tell you how fantastic you are and give raises.

Anyway, I've worked for enough companies and found a world of difference and found some companies to be intolerable.

Can't anyone give the OP the names of any companies?  They aren't asking for a psychology lesson, they are looking to make a paycheck.

The best co. ever! Good work, good people, good pay, good bennies.
x
Many companies are hiring MTs, QA people etc as
recruiters.
Why is it that people can come on here and bash companies but when someone tries to say that they sm

are happy, they are either management or causing flames.

There are a lot of good companies out there, but this is like anything else:  If you have a good experience, you are happy.  If you have a bad experience, or perceive something as a bad experience, you yell and scream and ram it down the throats of everyone around you?

We are all entitled to our opinions, good and bad, but people that come to this board for real answers are never going to be able to find them as both the nay say'ers and the yay say'ers get out of hand.

I work for Keystrokes.  I have for a few years.  I am happy there and hate to see the bad posts, knowing that there are very few that feel that way.  There are over 200 of us that are happy and have been there for a little while.  It is disheartening to see that one of the biggest companies that really tries to do well by their employees has such bad press at times, and that the ones who do the bad-mouthing either:

1) Have not been there in a long time.

2)  Were not hired.

3)  Were let go.

Yes, they hire often, but they need to advertise, recruit and hire to staff new accounts or they would not be able to get and keep the account.  Yes, people leave companies and move to others.  This industry in general seems to see a lot of job movement, in house and with services.  Yes, they had a recent change in management of ONE PERSON ONLY, the one who did the hiring, but companies go through changes all the time, in and out of healthcare.  WHO CARES?  They tried to make it better by sending out an email to all resumes in that person's office.  I saw the email as someone from another company received it, knew I work for KS, and wanted to know if I am happy there.  I thought the email was good.  They had a lot of calls to make, and those calls do not last for 30 seconds.  I talked to the owner when I was hired and we talked for 45 minutes as I had a lot of questions.  Yes, they said that they would make the calls in a few days but obviously it took longer than they expected.  Again, WHO CARES?  If they were say they were going  to call you and did not, maybe they ran out of time or maybe they JUST WERE NOT THAT INTO YOU.  Just because you put in a resume, it does not mean that they are going to hire you.  Maybe a lot of applicants were excited and called them or kept emailing asking for a call, but there are only so many hours in a day.  There are a lot of maybe's and a lot of things that you have no control over, and a lot of things that they have no control over.

It could be that you are the best Transcriptionist in the world, and they lost out.

It could be that the positions were filled by the time that they got to you in the pile.  It happens.  So many people want 1st shift, Mon through Fri, no ESL, no equipment, no this, no that, specific this, specific that.  There is not an endless supply of every type of account, every shift.

The big question here is:  Why do you care so much that felt it necessary to come to a public board and bash a company that you know nothing about?  How about we stick to bashing those with no work, that send the work to India, who do not pay their employees, who offer 3cpl, who have ugly QA, who cheat on line counts?  THOSE are the companies that DESERVE to be bashed.

You might ask why I am taking the time to write this.  It's simple.  I feel that the hateful people bring out the worst in all of us, and that poison spreads.  Yes, I feel passionately about this, but it is only because I do not think it is fair to bash a company that you do not work for.  They should thank their Lucky Stars that they did NOT get to some of the calls for the truly spiteful people out there, because a few months down the line, they would be here screaming about something else.  Now he or she can move on to the next company that they want to try to bash.  You don't hurt the companies when you do this, as they are not here, but you do insult those of us that like working for Keystrokes or whatever company is the flavor-of-the-month to be bashed.

Maybe instead of bashing companies and/or people
you should learn to SPELL first. Maybe that's part of the reason why you had no work if that was actually the case.
For real people - The pay most of these companies
are offering now for EXPERIENCED MTs is not much more than I made starting out 10 years ago with no experience. I started out at 0.06 a line. What a ripoff. I'm seriously considering a new profession.
Any companies out there willing to train people for eScription that have never used it before but
,
People keep talking about mid size companies sm
but which are they? Keystrokes, TT? Are they mid size? That means better? I think it just depends on who you are, how much experience and what platform you end up getting and with accounts going here, there any everywhere, lots of luck.
I have seen many companies who want to hire OP people to work from home!
nm
Because of the shortage of work, we don't want our companies hiring more people. nm
z
Obviously, you're all nice people - both companies are blessed to have you
I've seen so many ugly remarks on this website that I was actually afraid to even post for opinions - but each and every one of you have been honest and most of all respectful.  I didn't get the response - look in the archives.  I think that is a rude and nonchalant response.   To answer the question and give YOUR opinion, shows concern.  This is a difficult field and somehow instead of cutting each other down, we need to pull together.  I'm taking this opportunity to thank each one of you who took the time to respond.
Up to date info on Zylomed? People change and companies do to...(sm)
I need current information from MT's that do or have worked for Zylomed (Naples, FL) in the last year. If you've had a bad experience with them 2 or 3 years ago, don't bother writing. People change and companies do too! I need the real skinny on what's happening now. I would really appreciate hearing from current employees! Thanks so much!
Give them a call. So many people switching companies all the HR depts must be really busy. nm
.

Don't know about bennies but I believe
employee line requirements are 6000 per pay period for part time and 11000 for full-time.

Also, it's spelled Chronicle Transcripts.

They seem to be a good, solid company to work for.
Pay and Bennies

This company is not on the upend pay scale as of yet seeing as how they charge the hospitals 11 cents per line, but they are consistent with work and have promised future raises as they become more established.  I started out in the apprentice program making 2 cents per line for <98% and 3 cents per line >98%.  Some on here scream about working for that low of pay but I just don't feel I'm deserving of regular pay until I have the experience.  After one month I was given a pay raise that brings me up to the regular pay status, so it was well worth it for me.  As for the bennies, I am part time so I can't help you there.  They have many different packages for the type of work and experience you have, so you would just have to submit your information to them to find out what they would offer.

I know many on this board have been burned by many a national, but I like CorT and the people who run it.  They are genuine and helpful.  We'll see where the future takes them.  I plan to be on board with them as they grow!

Pay and Bennies
Thanks for the info. Even though the pay sounds low I like how they actually give the raises and it sounds like you are appreciated for what you do and don't get lost in the shuffle. I've been with MQ for 7 years and have only had 1 raise in that time, and that took 1 year to actually happen from the time I started asking for it.  I don't mind MQ that much, it's just that my speciality is ERs and I get very little ER work these days. I also like the fact that CorT is in Ohio, just about an hour and 15 minutes from where I live. I'll check it out further. Thanks again for the info!
Bennies
Yeah well, having work to do is the name of the game. I paid for my benefits at MQ and didn't get anything but a crappy paycheck, went through a lot of my savings to boot. I pay my own hospitalization and I save my money for time off when I want it. Anyone who works for benefits pays for them eventually. Get smart and smell the coffee. And I make more per line than I did at MQ. So, your problem is????
BENNIES
Well, bless you my child for your good fortune. I make 11, I get about 125-150 in bonus money every two weeks because we have so much work, which is my mad money. I can sleep in if I want, but generally keep to my promised schedule. They know I produce, I get a GOOD tax break, and I woulnn't work it out any other way. To each his own.
Then no bennies for you! Be an IC.
x
bennies?
What kind of benefits does MDI-Maryland offer? What kind of transcription do they have - acute care? clinic notes? ER? And lastly, do they have line incentives and is there a cap on them? Very interested...
No bennies because
all MTs are IC/SE status. As far as I know, they have acute care and clinic, not sure about ER. No line incentives but I feel they pay very well. cpl range from 9-11, depending on the account and they pay spaces and punctuation. Software is nice to use, too. Hope this helps. Contact them and someone will respond very quickly. They are wonderful to talk to and will take all the time you need to explain and answer questions.
IC and bennies
Insurance...That is one of the reasons I went back in-house. I had been without health insurance for 3 years and at age 50, felt I was pushing my luck. It sucks, but now I have health insurance, PTO, AND.......a 403B. If I could have those bennies and still work from home, I would be delirious.

Good luck.
Need teh bennies too much! Otherwise
NM
bennies
I've been at DeVenture for 2 years and in no way, shape or form do part-timers get benefits (at all). If you DO, I'd say there's something amiss.
Does MDI-MD have employees with bennies or
is it IC only?  Couldn't tell from the website.  Thanks.
Very decent bennies. If you do ESL, you can get 10 cents
a line with bennies.  Check them out.
Plenty of work? Any PTO? Okay bennies? nm
nm
Agree with all except the bennies part.
There are several MT companies that offer bennies to employees. Not with IC though.
Wow .. where do you get 9-10 cpl with bennies? I have 30+ years of experience sm
and 8 cpl or 8-1/2 seems to be the best I can do. :(
They asked about MDI- not Transcend -- different payroll, different bennies....
You obviously do not work for MDI-FL.
There are no bennies. They offer IC and statutory status.
Pay is comparable to most of the services. If you want employee status, they do not offer it. They are a good company though.
9 cpl barely passable if an employee with bennies, but -
if you're an IC, don't forget you have to buy your own health insurance, no PTO days, and you have to own & maintain your own equipment. If it were me, I'd be asking 12 cpl, might (just MIGHT) settle for 11 cpl for the right employer, if the accounts are good line-producers.
I agree BeyondTXT is ridiculous, especially if you need to get bennies! nm

We were getting laid-off, wages cut, losing bennies
Like for the last 5-7 years.
Company has been steadily growing, great bennies,...

I've never had a late paycheck.  Pay is very competetive, PTO, holiday pay etc. I believe there is more than one platform on which to transcribe - depending upon the account.  I work on the main platform - not glitchy for me.  No problems reaching my line count.  I'm quite content there, no plans on leaving.

For every single company out there, you'll find happy employees and not happy ex-employees. Deciding on an employer is a hard decision to make.  Good luck with your choice, no matter what it ends up being.

Starbucks offers a lot of bennies, including health,
for part-timers.
Great office staff, okay pay, horrible ESL's, no bennies....NM
NM
7 cents a line with no bennies and no taxes taken out is good!
What are we coming to!
Great bennies but extremely disorganized and out of work a lot. nm
nm
Can anyone who is employee status at Medscribe weigh in on the bennies? (sm)

Is the insurance expensive?  Are they flexible with schedules?  TIA!

Webmedx- Do they offer bennies for part timers?
Also, what does the phone interview consists of.  I was told it would be a 30 minute interview.
No work, no paid downtime, bennies might leave...
.
Their line rates are competitive, and their bennies are among the best in the business. I'm happ

Yes it does, but 35 hours a week is all that is required to be full time and get bennies.
