I HAD A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE THERE, AND I THINK PEOPLE DESERVE TO HEAR ABOUT IT...

IT WAS GREAT WHEN I FIRST STARTED, THAT MUCH I WILL ADMIT.  I WAS PLEASANTLY SUPRISED AT THEIR WILLINGNESS TO HELP, THEIR KINDNESS, AND THEIR AVAILABILITY TO THE MT'S.  BUT AS MANAGMENT CHANGED, SO DID ALL OF THE WONDERFUL THINGS THAT MADE DSG SO PERSONAL.

I LEFT ON MY OWN TERMS.  I WAS NOT FIRED... I AM NOT A MAD IC OR EMPLOYEE THAT WAS TERMINATED.  I WAS SICK OF BEING TREATED LIKE CRAP ALL OF THE TIME.  AND I STILL TALK TO MANY FRIENDS THAT I HAVE MADE THERE AT DSG, AND THEY WILL ALL SAY THE SAME THING... DSG HAS BECOME A VERY IMPERSONABLE PLACE TO WORK, AND IS A PLACE WHERE YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FOR YOUR WORK.  WE WERE NEVER ENCOURAGED TO HELP EACH OTHER AND WERE OFTEN GREETED WITH RUDE COMMENTS FROM THE MANAGEMENT WHEN TRYING TO DO SO.

I DO NOT HAVE TO KEEP QUIET ABOUT MY OPINION OF DSG OR THEIR UNPROFESSIONALISM.  IT IS A FREE COUNTRY.

THANKS FOR YOUR BLESSINGS, THEY ARE NOT NEEDED.  I AM EXTREMELY HAPPY WHERE I AM NOW.  NO NEED TO FIGHT FOR WORK, AND MAKING MUCH MORE INCOME.  SO YOU CAN HAVE DSG... FOR ME IT WAS A STEPPING STONE ON THE WAY TO A REAL JOB...

I had a terrible experience with them as well.
They were very unprofessional, IM'd me to death.  They did not give me the work that was promised and said I needed to get an account caught-up for them before I would gain the work promised.  Seek employment elsewhere.  By the way, they sent me the most trifling C-phone that was all broken and had dog hair infested keys.  I was afraid to use it for fear of getting a disease.  JMO.
Terrible experience (sm)
I went to TRSI and have nothing to show for it. They claim to hire their grads which is on their web site now but they don't, and their company was sold to someone else so how can they hire anyone. Their idea of helping you find a job is handing you a paper of companies who don't want to you to contact them! They don't help you in the course--no responses to emails, constant staff changes. I went to Medline School after this mess and am doing very well, learning a lot more, and their school is affiliated with a company that hires their grads, so I would say to research your schools carefully and make sure they can offer you help when you graduate. Laura.
I had a terrible experience with them with bait and switch.

Used to work there. Terrible experience. They may have changed their ways, tho

When I hear an MT say they have 20 years experience,
There's a whole lot of difference between 20 years in a specific specialty or a clinic, and 20 years in acute care doing all the work types. Also, when I used to hire MTs, I'd tend to grab up the ones who trained physically on site at a hospital or in the office of an MTSO for a couple of years and had the benefit of being around other MT's or QA'ers who could give them help and feedback on the spot. I absolutely believe there should be meaningful certifications (not just for entry level) for different tiers of ability.
MQ people let's hear from you
This reporter I talked to knew all about the lawsuit with MQ so it would be interesting to show their latest practices.

The paper is in Long Beach, Calif.
Has anyone had experience with both eScription and ASR @Wedmedx? I hear a lot of sm
good things about eScription, but I don't have amnything to compare it to (except ASR at Webmedx). Anyone?
Anyone hear of People Support?
I checked out their website.  Am I wrong in assuming they outsource to Phillipines and Costa Rica?  I had taken their test and they called me today and the number came up as Rapid Text, so now I am confused.  Thanks in advance for any info.
Anybody work for PMSI? Would love to hear your experience.

If I get past all the people who say they get hired then don't hear anything
people complaining about the instability of work flow and constantly running out of work, and if I ingnore the fact that the company is expanding its operations in India by acquiring a facility to employee 5000 people offshore....wait, what was my point?
I hear ya...some people just feel the need to chime in about everything and anything...
opinions are like buttholes...everyone has one...LOL...just don't read the negative posts...
I hear people talk union all the time, but no one ever

does anything about it.  Personally I would never join one anyway so I don't care.  I am not a single mom, but for one year my DH took off work to go to school and I was the sole support of our family.  I paid all the bills, including insurance, though mine was not $700/mo.  We didn't have $$ for lots of extras, but all of our normal bills were paid and our house payment was $895/mo.

I only worked about 6 hours/day at that time, though sometimes worked less and sometimes more.

Just because one person can't do 2500 lines/day or be self-supporting, doesn't mean that some of us can't.   I make good money and could make more if I wanted to work more, but I don't.

No one is forcing you to be an MT.  If you are unhappy with the pay, etc. find something else.   Companies, MT or not, have to look out for their bottom line.   MT companies are now in competition with Indian companies, or US fronts for Indian companies, who will undercut any line rate to the customer, so in order for MT companies to keep accounts they have to maintain rates.   I know of one local company who went out of business because while he had not raised his rates in about 8 years, he just could not compete with other offshore companies.

Agreed!!. They know exactly how they want those lines counted. That is why you hear people saying
that they averaged 200 lph at one company and switched and now get over 300 lph. It is all in how the counts are set up. Sounds like Transtech people are getting a bum deal. There has to be something to it because A LOT of people have complained. If it were randomly a person here or there I could understand but there are way too complaints not to be valid to some extent.
Awesome, it's so nice to hear from people who like their jobs and are positive.nm

I have seen people with 15 years of experience
that cannot type anything correctly, so you may want to look at your work more closely.
People with even 30+ years experience would
like to know.
you are right, a terrible, terrible thing it is.sm
but I won't complain too much after having made over 50,000 last year.
Very nice people, but only 7.5 cpl for experience. They use MPWord. It's kind of clunky & not aut
s
I would ask, you deserve it. sm
I just got a new job and in my job search I did find some wanting to pay 8 cpl for high ESL with a production differential and then one other offering 10 cpl with a production differential.  One was about 50% ESL and the other about 65% ESL.  On the other hand another was offered at 9 cpl with lower ESL.  I would not do a high (esp. as high as you say) ESL acct for less than 9 cpl and probably not 10, so I say if they want to keep you they should give your request a lot of consideration.  They may be willing to do it if they have had a high turnover and you have already proven your proficiency on the account.  Sounds like you deserve it.
let us all believe they will get what they deserve.
nm
Karma will get what they deserve
nm....
You deserve better than to work for this
RUN, RUN, RUN, RUN.  See archives.
You don't *really* deserve a response but here goes
something tells me you aren't capable of getting this but here goes: MY POST was to gauge INTEREST, *not* delegate the work.

Can you grasp that simple concept?

Try reading my posts again, and see if it's a little clearer.

As an activist for 10 years, I know just how easy it is for others to allow one person to hold the reins. I'm not willing to do that WITHOUT serious support.

Got it now?
What is your problem? TT does not deserve

all these negative posts and bashing. For your information, I've been there over a year and the only time I ran out of work was around the holidays.

Methinks there are too many people that have become paranoid because of another job with another company and it's not fair to TT.

C'mon, be fair to TT. They've been good to all their MTs.

Thank you, you deserve to be blessed.
nm
Then what? I will have given a heads-up to others who deserve it
There must have been a certain amount of business generated from their advertisement of work being done state side. They obviously plan to keep that on there, so it's had to be a money maker. It certainly makes a difference if I'm the one looking for a job and it's a state side company hiring MTs. Then what...? You're right. It's not going to stop. But would you not want a heads-up? The website says state side. All of us deserve to know the truth going on inside these crooked companies.... because the only thing we can do is look after each other.
And then there are those who ace the tests and deserve a response!
x
You certainly deserve the extra for working 3rd. sm
I could never do it!!
So you deserve special treatment? sm
MTs that don't have kids are ALWAYS stuck with the weekends and nights. It is expected of us to take up the slack for the MTs with kids ALL THE TIME. And when asked ONE TIME to switch and work a night or a weekend so an MT without kids can do something, the answer is always NO I want to be with my kids. Go ahead and flame me because personally I'm SICK OF IT!
You deserve a round of applause for your post!! sm
I have been at this for almost 20 years. I work a mid size company and it is a company that is bashed quite regularly on here. However, it works for me and I love it!

I have the opportunity to work with MTs with all types of experience. I have some older MTs that I wonder what have they been doing on all these years! and I have new MTs that try their hardest, but even some of them that are trying so hard are just never going to make it.

I agree with all the whining on this board. I don't mind it (as I don't bother to read the actual post most of the time), but I hope when people read these posts that they take what is said as a grain of salt. Form your own opinion of companies, etc.

Also when you say when you are going to work, then actually DO work those hours.

Hats off to the original poster!
You are so right and the ones who work for free should be flogged. Everyone deserve to be....
compensated for their time, effort, and dedication and what a slap in their face to get paid 1 cpl, if they are lucky. With this company, they would be hard pressed to get get anything so if nothing is really want they value their worth at, then go for it. I find it almost pathetically sad and any company that does this should be ashamed.
I agree, whoever you are, you deserve to be happy with any job, not constantly struggling.
The reason we have these boards is we need each other, that is my reason. It is a God given right that we deserve to be happy and not be taken advantage of, be kind to other people, and PASS IT ON!
You deserve major kuddos! Hope that company (and their editors) appreciate you!
I know I would as an editor!!!
Anyone that applied with Kathy Kirby hear anything yet? I am wondering how long it takes to hear a
response back
I said MAY NOT hear, didn't say you wouldn't hear. There is
a difference, and many people have said they knew they didn't do well on the tests, but still feel like they should have heard from companies and haven't.
if someone puts up with crap for 5 years... they deserve the crap!! good grief... grow a set and get
xx
DSG IS TERRIBLE!!!

That is terrible.
No one should get 2 cpl.
Wow! That is terrible
That's a LOT of money. Too bad. Maybe you can sell the company and at least get some money.
That's terrible

That's terrible.  I agree that's what it is but did they come out and admit they were sending the jobs to India?

Did they say people were layed off on the spot or did they give people a few weeks/days until their last day?

Was a severence package offered? Something.

How could they do this just before the holidays.

Terrible!
Glad I didn't get hired! I did a testcall and they never got back to me. I did have to pay the bill for the hour conference call that ended up being a Canada number...that should have tipped me off.
That is terrible! Do you want to be
treated that way or worse on a job? Sounds like a stressful situation you might be getting into. It is admirable you would give 2w/notice, and any company not expecting you to do that is suspect to begin with.. there are other jobs out there, you just might want to keep looking...not telling you what to do but rather than let them ruin my day, and later my life, I personally look for a place who treat people with respect during and after the hiring process. Good Luck to you!
Terrible sm

The platform was terrible.   Too many specifics on the demographics.

They lost an account and waited until the last minute to tell us.  When we kept running out of work, they kept giving excuses like, it's election day, it's martin luther king day, etc.

There are plenty good, honest companies.  I would suggest looking elsewhere.

That is terrible.
I hope that doesn't scare you out of trying again; if not with this company another.  You probably should call that recruiter and tell someone what happened.  They need to know how what that manager is doing to her employees.  I doubt that company will get very far with someone like, but I don't know.  I would just let someone know what happened.  I am sure she has done it to someone else, and will probably do it again.
terrible
I understand companies wanting to keep work in TAT, but why not be honest and just hire thousands of part-timers, because hiring MTs full-time and not having full-time work is dishonest to say the least.  A lot of companies are over-hiring and doing just this kind of thing, not just Transcend.
The pay is terrible!
I was offered a position with them a few days ago, and they sent me their pay schedule.

No matter how much experience you have, you apparently start at 0.06/line. I did't even start for that right out of school, but okay. It seems you would have to work there over two years to even get near 8 cents/line.

I need work, but I have 11 years experience, and I can't afford to work for those kind of rates. :(
VR/SR is terrible! sm msg
I do not see VR/SR taking over, even in the next decade. The result from this software is redundant text that needs extensive editing, and I mean extensive! Maybe some day but it will still need editors to fix! Right now, from what I have seen, it is a mess!
Terrible. sm
I never...ever...do less than 16,000 lines a pay period, or an average of 200 lines an hour. Today, I averaged 111 lines an hour. I ended up taking PTO and am also taking it tomorrow, so maybe others' lines will go up tomorrow, at least.

I am on both DVI and Chartnet. I signed in this morning and neither had a single report for almost 90 minutes. After that, it was back and forth constantly with only 1 or 2 here and there. My primary just moved to Chartnet (which is a great program) but at the same time, it has dried up. I have no idea why but I'm not very happy right now, to say the least.

This is terrible
.... because they have US QA's edit them. Pathetic!
That is on the terrible VA accounts that cannot be
AND acute care, because they are unable to bring on acute care MTs.

I feel so terrible about this, but

I tested for several companies and had several offers.  I accepted a position with a company and I am supposed to start soon.  During the process of filling out paperwork and preparing to start with this company, I got a MUCH better offer with another company that I simply cannot and do not want to turn down.  Has anyone been in this position?  Why do I feel so terribly guilty?  The first company is not a national and not very big, so I really feel like I am letting them down.
