MT week gift-eTransPlus

I recently started at eTransPlus and they are giving us a 1-year subscription to Prevention magazine.

When I worked at Spheris, in different years they sent coffee mugs, insulated beverage bags, small gym bags, but the one that sent a lot of people over the edge was the year they sent us a snow-globe with a mini-computer inside that said Spheris on the screen and then around the base the slogan was:

*All around the globe, Spheris MTs are hard at work.*  Just another unpleasant reminder of their *Follow the Sun slogan regarding their Indian workforce.

Full time with Transtech is both. 40 hours per week and 5500 lines per week.

So what companies did something for MT week? So far I see Webmx, etransplus, sm
Keystrokes, Proscript -- anyone else?  Seems pretty lean this year.
eTransPlus is 1000 lines per day. nm

Etransplus--can you make money there
Does anyone know about etransplus.  Upon until now the feedback I have gotten has been pretty good looking through the posts.  I was really taken aback by the amount of styles they have.  Wow, what a change for me.  I know I can get used to it, but I know I'm going to probably take some time.  How do their line counts jive with a character count line?  I really liked the fact that they offered insurance for 900 lines a day.  That is great.  I hope I can bang out the lines!
I doubt you will make enough money in 5 hours a week to make
nm
They work with you to make sure you get the lines required or the amount of lines you want...
I have never had a problem getting more work
12K lines payperiod is 6K lines a week.
nm
How many lines do you do in a week?
,
More than 1200 lines a week?
so what's the point in being so rude to wandering MT?
11,000 lines per 2 week period. nm

150 lph x7-8 hrs or 5500 lines a week for 35 hr min.
X
FT = 6000 lines a week. nm

I know people who are doing 10,000 lines per week, sm
20,000 per period. I find it hard to believe that a recruiter would have discouraged you from hiring on here.
As for hiring now, there are new accounts coming on in December and January; that's why they are advertising for more MTs at this time.
Ugg this is so frustrating! I am going to try to get more lines the first week
of the payperiod and maybe that will help. I have a child but he is away for the summer so I am able to sit and wait 24/7. I just have to juggle the bills this time around, either pay for the furniture or the rent, but not both. Will be lying low this week food-wise too, good thing I am alone and can cut back on going anywhere or buying anything. Perhaps the recession will end and the new accounts will help. Going elsewhere might end up being the same thing, so I am going to overlap TT with something else. Just thinking aloud here... thanks for your feedback. It is hard to talk to coworkers when you are home and don't know anyone in the area who does the same kind of work.

How many hours in a week do you normally work to get your lines in?
Just curious. I work 50-plus hours here to make it work for our family, would love to cut back
Lines to type would be nice for MT week.

Excuse me but I am ahead of my lines for the week anyway sm
so if I want to make an omelete, that is my choice. Was I complaining for being out of work at that particular moment? No. Besides, I have work now and also, we are allowed a 30 minute break to eat by government criteria. I don't know if you know that or not.
Yes, 10 cpl, mininum of 5000 or 6000 lines per week I think. nm
x
11,000 per week editing lines, 5,500 straight typed.
Don't know how much it is for husband and kids. $70 a week for me and two kids.
MQ. PTflex...2000 lines/week and 401K.
NM
Now that bonuses are paid by total lines per week sm
it doesn't matter what your LPH total is, so you can stay clocked in or out for those little things, as you choose.
I love it. Got my full-time lines first week.
First time in years I am back to making my old money again. A good match for me, at least. IMHO. Been in the business over 26 years and I like it a lot. Can see acct. specs while typing, samples, have normals and inserts, etc. Never a problem and that was from day 1. And I am not a recruiter, I am an MT who has been around the block enough times to know a good think when I have it and to stay put. Good luck to you.
6000 lines per pay period (2-weeks) and 20 hours per week that is
Just clarifying.
I make 1350. a week
and work my butt off for it! It is possible.
I make 950-1000 per week

I am an employee, only 8 cpl with incentive over 1200 lpd, work a strict 8 hr/day, 40 hr/wk shift.  I do work on only one account, about 75% op notes, although it is a very large teaching hospital so still have a very large variety of dictators (currently wrestling with my list of 500+ new residents for this summery).  I have full hospital benefits.   It is possible.....

$700 is very good, except as IC you are losing 7.5% in having to pay your own taxes.

Yes, I make my time up later in the week when possible

or the weekends. I'm not tied to my computer. I do other things in between and check every 15 minutes or so for work.

I really don't care about the slow period. It was so busy for so many months that I am enjoying the slow down....but hopefully, it won't be much longer. I'm getting used to having these breaks.

I used to make that $1000 a week but
that was in 1989 or 1990. Wish on.
First, what kind of time frame are we talkin? 6000 lines in a week?

I ask because 6 cpl is horrible and if they expect you to produce 12,000 lines in a week in order to get 9 cpl, well that's just nuts.

But I digress, you original question was should you continue to work when you do not have access to your line count --> NO!  And the fact that you are getting the run around should be sending up red flags.

Now you couple that with the 6 cpl and I would have to say this place you work at sucks!

I work 1 job, about 36 hours/week and make at
least that amount, plus have vacation and PTO, also an employee so they pay taxes.   I found that working multiple account keep me from making money because I have to learn so many doctors and be aware of the different formats/platforms and account specific stuff.  I used to work a bunch of jobs part-time and was working 7 days a week and lots and lots of hours and not making very much money.   If I worked the same hours on one account I could have easily made $80,000+/year.
Can anyone tell me the required amount of hours/lines for part time per week for Focus? nm
nm
I make about $1,500 a month working about 20 hours per week.

Believe me, I'm not bragging or slamming anybody at all.  No way.  I'm frustrated with my own income because I'd like to make more.  I'm willing to put in more hours to do it, too.  Honestly, I'm not that fast.  I have one very small local account and one small MTSO I subcontract for.  None of it is verbatim, it's clean up the grammar as you go, which totally slows me down.

I won't work for a national any more because I couldn't make enough money there.  I wasn't willing to tough it out for three months until I could make their line counts, especially when they had me on their worst accounts, pools of hundreds of dictators per hospital so I couldn't use my expander, and a new account every week.

I've said before that if I'm going to do MT, it's going to be on my terms.  I won't chain myself to a desk or be "on call" all day long waiting for work to come in.  Nationals don't pay you to sit there and wait for work.  That's bull.  Being on call IS working.  Other businesses pay their "on call" people at least minimum wage.  They skirt around the issue trying to use SE and IC terminology, but it's just a way of paying us less to be at their beck and call.

Don't give up on MT entirely.  You'll find your fit.  It just takes some searching.

I was just curious because I have had some people tell me they make over $1000 every week and that
seems impossible to me.
How does one count one's lines on DQS to make sure one's

Hard to make lines
xxxx
Love Ops, make more lines on Ops than

anything else.  If you haven't done it in a while may be slow going until you're familiar with equipment/procedure terminology.

Slow way to make lines
A friend has and it was much slower at line production but she had severe carpal tunnel syndrome... so it enabled to her to work is about it.
Now you can not make your lines in 9 hours!
x
Told minimum PT was 3500 lines a week; requires 2 weekend days a month nm
xx
I make 1300 per month 10 hours per week (IC) extra job

If you can't make 1000 lines in 8 hours,
in the wrong profession.
They don't expect U to make lines during first 90 days
Hang in there, it will get better, it takes time.
EDMAT is very hard to make lines.
x
I make a lot of money/lines at Transcend.
It probably depends on the platform. I love the company; have been there for a while but also worked elsewhere. This company is the best. E-mail me if you'd like
You pay more for insurance if you don't make minimum lines also sm
I left there because of this exact issue. I started having a harder and harder time getting my lines, meaning I got a reduced line rate and had an extra $95-100 on top of that taken out because they didn't pay the employer matching part of the insurance.
Now you can not make your lines in 9 hours! More time for 2nd Job.
x
I am curious about the amount of money I am making at this time. I make around $700 every week and
I am wondering if this is average or if I am selling myself short as an IC.
Can you say where you work where it's so easy to make your lines? All I come across is crap out
s
weird pay scale, hard to make lines, can't
make money, currently training women in Trinidad to do our job.
Just wondering - how many hours do you normally have to work to make your 500 lines? Thanks! NM
NM
You can make up your lines whenever you like. Just drop them and email letting them know that you ar
