I don't get this

I've seen a few posts yesterday and then again now regarding lawsuits because of VR. Are transcriptionists really allowing the VR reports that they should be editing to the point of 100% accuracy to just go to the patient's chart without corrections?

I'm not trying to say it isn't possible, and maybe I'm missing something. But I believe that it is our responsibility as medical language specialists to check, check and double check the accuracy of everthing we transcribe or edit.

Who is filing the lawsuit? The patient? The hospital or clinic that hired the MTSO as a client. When it comes down to it, if you're the MT that caused the error because you didn't edit the report the way you should have, regardless of a lawsuit, you will be the one reponsible the mess that was created by not doing your duty as an MT.
