Sometimes folks take them until they can find other jobs just to keep working. I have been at this almost 32 years and I have had to do it in the past.
As far as I am concerned, even at 8 cpl for straight transcription, and doing 250-350 lph that is still pretty good money ($20-28 and hour) and nothing to laugh at if you need the work.
I do agree though that the money is too low, but please don't insult the ones who decide to take these jobs at this money because they have to or want to. Everyone is different but for myself, I would work for 8 cpl for a company that left me alone as compared to more for a company that was down my neck all the time pestering the daylights out of me.
