A 2006 ad said they use MT-World software. I found it kind of clunky using it for another service.

still slow and clunky imho. nm

Old posts say you get switched around a lot and the software is clunky. What about

Good account, clunky software

Umph!!!  I found a job with great accounts, but their software is clunky, hard to manuever, and hard to make line count with.  Several times a day, I have to log out and log back in because the software freezes up.  No one in the tech department can do anything or unwilling to do anything.  I love this account, but it is virtually impossible to make any money.  I asked the tech department to at least work with me and my own macros and they never did.  They just told me I could not use my own macros without even trying to convert my IT.   Have anyone else had good accounts with clear dictators, but have the worst software program to work in.  What on earth am I going to do now!!!!!

used to have slow clunky platform, don't know about anything recent though.... nm

Basic word books, spellchecker, expansion software...$450/500?? nm

I found Bayscribe to be rather ancient and the spellchecker is outdated. nm

There software is extremely slow. Very

long wait for report to send before you can start another, and I have cable.  Not productive.  Could never make 1200 lines per day required and that is usually not a problem for me.  Pay is on time and for the most part accurate.  People are okay to work with, except for one manager who is a "my way or the highway" type.

I haven't found it slow at all, it is the same as always for me
nm
I found Medrite to be slow -- would type and watch it try to catch up with me. sm

I went from 250-300 lph to 180-200 lph with it.  Plus it has this spy stuff (I called it), where if you are gone longer than such amount of time, when you come back, you have to say why you were gone (it has things to choose from).  I didn't care for it, but obviously some must.

Good luck!

Not sure if they do, but their software hdqrts are in Japan, China, India & Mongolia, found on

Integrated Medical Solutions...any info??

With TransHealth's main platform ChartMatrix, the spellcheck is integrated. nm

Think they're Integrated Document Solutions. Someone asked about them last month. nm

spellchecker
I am confused by you stating that you can't find the spellchecker. what do you mean by that? If the dictionary loads, then that is all you need. it runs in the background. you don't see it. it is not visible. it is just basically an addition to your dictionary. when you type in word, type in a specific medical term and if it is not underlined in red, then the spellchecker is working, but pick a hard one that a regular dictionary does not have. if the word is underlined in red, then try to reload, but make sure all other programs are closed, including your email. make sure your dictionary is set to accept an expanded dictionary.
spellchecker
Since it is a demo, that may be most of the problem right there. but, it also sounds like your Word program is not set to recognize it, either. Open a word document...go up to the tools menu...when it opens, there is a tab called spelling and grammar. click on that. another window will open with some settings in it. about the middle of that window is a button called dictionaries. click on that and make sure that it is set for CUSTOM.DIC (default). otherwise it will not recognize that there is another dictionary to be used other than what Word has supplied. I hope this helps. If not, I would contact Stedmans and maybe they have a suggestion for you. good luck.
And how about that awful spellchecker?
More incorrectly spelled words than I have ever seen. Word is by far 100% better.
i don't think the spellchecker is lacking much more than any other
but the bayscribe is not near as comprehensive as dqs, ie, not as many features. but it is also way quicker to learn. Awesome to get a lost report back, no having to call in. easy to see how you were QA'd. Even with less features, i like it better.
Meditech is clunky so to speak.
Meditech is to mainstream hospital dictation and not MT friendly at all.  You have to go through a lot of screens.  Normals do not come easy and templates do not come easy.  You have to use your F keys to maneuver through the system.  It tends to go down a lot as well and you can lose your report unless the Recover function is working properly.  Be careful to save your report occasionally, but this means going in and out of the report several times, holding up production.  The spell check is not medical.  These are all my opinions and I worked in Meditech for 10 years.  If you accept a position, make sure it is on the higher end of pay because the production is awful.
I know enterprise is a clunky old thing
but some people like it. It is rather slow too and hangs up at times. What's really the worst is when you click to submit your document and it disappears and you have to do it over. It was a real pain to me when I used it. On the other hand, the tech support people were very nice. I don't know anything about chartmatrix.
Bayscribe and Stedman's spellchecker

Does anyone know if you can use the Stedman's spellchecker with Bayscribe?

Have to provide your own spellchecker and expander
nm
Clunky program, and I have to agree about the bad communication. nm
nm
It DID have a spellchecker, but a really poor one, if I remember correctly. nm

as others have said, increase dictation speed, let spellchecker do it's job

Vianeta also bad spellchecker. Were told to type

Depends on the account. Work on VR lately has been slow. Just like all companies, we have slow times

Honestly though, I have only had 2-3 times in the past 2 years where it was like the other day...no work... It did pick up later but I just think it's important not to make someone think we're overloaded with work all the time. That would not be fair to them if they end up with high expectations.

Dorland's makes a spellchecker? Thought just Stedman's
s
Very nice people, but only 7.5 cpl for experience. They use MPWord. It's kind of clunky & not aut
s
No - it is not always slow! Depends on the company and hospital. I have never been slow this time
Slow time is usually in September when everyone is back to work/school from the summer months.

Been doing this 24 years and never slow this time of year. Actually, I am drowning in work - can't keep up.
ExText is integrated with Word. Auto correct is a part of Word.
ExText is a Word based platform. When the page opens for you to type the document it will be just like you are typing in MS Word.
do you have any certain software...sm

to do your own line count on, or is there some way to do it w/o any special software? I'd like to check mine out!

What software were you using? nm

Just that there software is

Software
Anyone know what software All Type uses?
Yes, you use their software that
incorporates your version of Word into, so you have all your auto correct, etc.
It's VR software.

I hated it at first but I've gotten used to it and hate typing the old way now.

software
Thanks.  Is extext the same as dictaphone extext?.  I will be working with a company shortly that uses dictaphone extext and someone had e-mailed me stating you can also use ShortHand if you like with dictaphone extext.  Could you please give me some information on where I can find ShortHand since it is something it sounds like I could use.  Thank you so much.  I would appreciate it!
Software
Chartnet at SPI/Cymed is the best platform I have ever worked on. I worked on ExText for many years before and Chartnet is more efficient. I think SPI bought the rights to it (not 100% on this) so I don't think any other companies have it.
what software
platform do they use?
Everyone will have to use the same software?
I hope it is Editscript. It is the easiest to work on. At least the of ones I have used.
Do not pay for software
They are making the profit. I doubt very much that you are a principal or stockholder in the company. That being the case, why should you bear the financial burden. Again, don't enable this kind of bad behavior. There are plenty of honest and decent companies out there. This does not sound like it is one of them.
They have a software
and you have to use that software so it takes a lot of time. For every report you have to open up that software, search for the MT, search for other stuff and type the corrections in that form instead of on the report itself. That stuff gets sent to the MT. You get credit for only 15 lines for blanks no matter how many blanks there are.

The only time you get credit for the whole report is if you do a full listen and they are on full QA. Major ripoff.
No, just the software.
Email me if you want more info.

Software?
Perhaps they are getting ready to change software, platform, or make some changes with their programs.
What I do when its slow

I do exactly what the email they sent out to us says.  If there isnt any work during my shift, I leave and take the kids somewhere, clean or do laundry, make dinner early or whatever.  Then when work comes in, I work.  If work is there during my shift but there isnt a lot, I take what I can and then go do my thing and come back later.   When work is slow, I do work longer  hours trying to get work in.  I get a good line count in too.  I am not in this career for others.  I am in it to feed my family.  I am in it for a paycheck.  If work is slow, I will take what I can get when I can get it.  I type fast and am productive and I will not go without.

The email they sent out said to t ype during early morning hours or at night when the work is in there.  So that is what everyone has to do.  First come, first serve.  We all have the same chance of getting on there and getting the work.  The early bird gets the worm, ya know.  This MT that has 20,000 lines per pay.  I think that is great.  I try to get that also.  There is nothing wrong with that or unbelievable about that.  It all boils down to how bad you want it.

slow
outdated platform, new QA guidelines for the birds.  I'm trying to find something else now.
You can slow it down (sm)
In your transnet player box, there's a box that says more or something like that. I'm not logged in right now and can't remember.  But, it's at the bottom right of the transnet player box.  Click that, and you can adjust the volume, speed, etc.
The 4th was slow for many
