I used to work there several years ago...

good accounts, but watch out for the OM.  She is a real b**ch.

I have been there for two years and have always had work

I have been there for over 2 years and have never run out of work...
so, no this is not a common problem with Keystrokes...since you said you have no personal experience with them you couldn't possibly know...in fact, most of the time I have too much work...Keystrokes makes sure their current employees have all the work they want before they hire anyone...
used to work for them years ago..sm
good company, good accounts at that time. I saw the ad where they will be going to VR....I almost applied again had it not been for that VR junk.
Actually I work in an office and have for the last 20 years.

I work at home for six months and then go into the office for the other six months out of a year.  My point was that you are are judging everyone for saying negative things about different companies.  We express our opinions about different companies and try to help others out before they accept employment with them, or dish out a bunch of money for schooling.

If you want positive things about companies, why wasn't your question "what is the best company you have every worked for" and "which school is the best to go to for medical transcription"?

I happen to like my job, enjoy the people that I report to, and wouldn't change it for anything.

Work has been going to Trinidad for years, actually, but not a lot of it from what I can tell. A QA

In 5 years I've never had a day without work, though
have had probably 4 days of about half my usual line count, due to the hospital system being down or due to hurricanes, but never went completely without work.  My company isn't hiring though.
I've been there for 1-1/2 years and have never run out of work. nm
:]
Been there for 3 years, pay on time, never without work.

The company I work for NEVER gives PTO, even after 5 years. I would be willing sm
to wait a year to get it. Right now, I hate taking a day off at all because I am paycheck to paycheck and need to work to make money. If I had PTO, I would not feel guilty taking a day off here and there or even a short vacation.
I've NEVER run out of work in 9 years.
hellish shift, all the reports everybody else sends back, it's a dirty job, and love the $
I have worked at MQ for about 9 years and have never run out of work. sm
I don't think that is the norm for most to run out of work at MQ.
I tried to work with them a couple of years ago...

I work there now, have for the past 2-1/2 years.
What feedback are you looking for?
I always have enough work on it and have been on it since it started 3 years ago. sm
I do a minimum of 100 minutes every day. My goal is 120 minutes every day but I am not as fast as I once was. I do not run out of work on there but I work 2nd shift, which might be the reason. Glad you got an account you like better. I personally love this one because of the doctors, except one.
I have 25 years exp and run into the "no work syndrome" also.
It happens! I got tired of hearing no work or can you go on later...etc. I went out and got my own accounts and it has be heaven!

Believe me, the no work situation happens at every company no matter what anyone says. I think I have tried every one out there and the same thing....great for the first few weeks, then caught up and no work.

You may need a part-time job to fill in for the $$$ missed.

Good luck.
Weekend work has been going on in hospitals many years but
weekend workers generally rotate if they work in house or they used to. This should be the way these companies do this rather than tie up every weekend. It would be easier to find someone if they rotated their weekends and were firm about the commitment. It is not that hard. It is about good management and if they can't manage to get that commitment, then companies need new management to implement that kind of thing. Finding weekend workers would be a lot easier.
I've been there 5+ years and have had plenty of work.

I would occasionally work on weekends when I needed extra $$ and there is no work on the weekends now.  Mondays also tend to be a little slow because they are keeping a tighter TAT and we aren't playing catch-up from the weekend, but even then I still get my lines.

Are you a long-time QTer and not getting your lines?

I don't work weekends or holidays. MT FOR 10 YEARS

Not true - been doing clinic work for 8 years
and while yes, there are things such as px and other things you can make macros for, my docs say a lot of different things based on who the dictation is going to and what the problem is, also personal things pertaining to that patient. I have found OP notes have more of the same things in them than clinic notes and can make you more money.
I work at etrans and have had trouble for 2 years -

I have been with AccuSTAT WI for 6 years and I wouldn't work anywhere else. The accounts are gre
the MTSO is excellent, very professional and caring. Flexibility and pay is always on time. If you have any questions, please email me directly.
I just spent about the last 5 years doing work I hate because the money -sm
was so good. Which is more important to you? Sounds to me like you'd rather take the one with the type of work you enjoy more. It didn't hurt me to do that work all that time. The money was so good, it made it seem more enjoyable. Isn't it so nice though that you have a choice!
Worked for them years ag. GREAT people to work for. nm
.
I have mde over 60K doing MT for the past 5 years. Why are you so hesitant to post who you work sm
for?  Yes, I think you are a fraud am I am no jealous in the least.  At least I don't have to lie as a part of my daily business.  You still, an no other  recruiter responding, has had the integrity to post their company name.  No surprise.
I always have been there several years and it wasnt always so bad but now with no work half the time
communication I am no longer happy there and moving on.
I don't work there, but with 34 years of experience, their starting wage was sm

just a little over 6 cpl.  I am amazed that companies get away with paying such low wages.  Good luck if you decide to go there.

Actual work history total is 50 years, only
36 in MTing. You quoted as desperate, unskilled, newbies with Dorland's could probably do VR which shows your lack of knowledge in talking about VR. Why spread falsehoods any more. Learn about it first. I love VR, make a good salary and glad I don't have to wrack my brain trying to transcribe word by word everything the multitude of ESLs dictate these days. I have no plans to retire, don't want to because I love the money. I spoke about you going back because you have no knowledge about doing VR, otherwise you would never had spoken like you did. Takes just as much knowledge to do as straight transcribing.
I've been there 1 1/2 years and had no problems. I'm an IC, very seldom run out of work, usua
more than enough to go around except the times when transcription is slow across the board.  Pay is direct deposit and my personal experience with management is that they are easy to get along with and flexible.
It has been a couple of years but I tried to work there and lasted 1 day and so did a friend of mine
The ESL were AWFUL.. It was all I got and I could not understand anything they said. They were out of California so had a real mixed bag of ESL but none of it was doable.  Things could have changed, who knows.
I'm at Webmedx after 10+ years at MQ. Good company. Plenty of work. SM
Pay is direct deposit and on time. You have a 12-hour window and 35 hours is considered full-time. I cleared QA review in less than a day, and they leave me alone to do my job. Benefits are affordable. I don't need the insurance, but I understand it's pretty good. Don't get much PTO the 1st year, 3 days. If you know you will need to be off ANY time in the first 6 months or so, tell the recruiter. Line rate is fair and you can negotiate. They have a bonus/incentive plan that allows you to earn good money. Seems like no place is great these days, but they are probably as good as it gets. Feel free to E-mail me if I can help you out.
I've also worked there over 4 years and I have noticed the work drop
Whatever left is the crap. Also, check your line count some time. I swear that they have manipulated that also. I can now do over 2 pages and it comes up with like 50 lines. I used to be able to make a living there but can't anymore. I'll be quitting.
2000 lines, I havent done that in years. What work type do you do? nm
xxxx
That's not always true. I have been editing a Powerscribe account for 2 years. The work sm
has actually steadily increased due to fewer and fewer radiologists self-editing their own work.

I know of at least 4 other Powerscribe accounts at Keystrokes that are also increasing in volume for the same reason.

I am sorry that the account you were on with Webmedx went to total self-edit. I know that Keystrokes had a few that did that too, just not all of them.
Friend has been there for years, only makes 7 cpl, work load very uneven. Looking to leave,

The same thing happened to me 2 years ago. That Indian creep gets people to work

for him. He gives this scale of how you are supposed to be paid, but it NEVER, EVER is the high range that you KNOW you are owed and deserve.  So, then your production and earning come up and they are WAY off base.  On top of that, he either pays you late or not at all.  This is fair warning...DO NOT WORK FOR CALLSTREET!

Years ago posts said they were extremely picky & hard to work for. Haven't
s
DO apply. I have not had a lack of work problem that I couldn't deal with in nearly 3 years. nm

Anyone know of a company looking for 13 years experience to work flexible part-time shift
I'm getting my real estate license but still want to keep my transcription job part-time.  I'm looking for a job that will allow me to work about 20 hours a week and still have the flexibility to show a home on the spur of the moment.  Thanks, I would appreciate any info!
I've been there for years, work on the DSG1 side of things, pay on time, direct deposit, more
feedback lately.  I have always found the staff and MTs helpful and friendly.  Work does fluctuate, but if you have a few accounts, should keep you busy, also sound quality can be an issue but mostly okay.
I talked to them today. They want 3 years in a hospital or 5 years combination sm
hospital and at home or clinic and at home. For radiology, they want 3 years full time radiology. I thought they were very nice and I have a few friends that work for them and are happy. The pay seems average to high for what I am seeing now. I think they are 0.08 per line or 1.08 for radiology. Beats what I will have with the new MQ program.

I worked on site for many years. I've been doing this for 10 years... sm
I've worked on site, at home, for small MTSOs, for nationals, for hospitals. I've been paid per line, per minute, and per hour. I've been an MT and a QA. I have ALWAYS worked weekends and ALWAYS worked nights for the shift differential because MTs can't survive on 6 or 7 cents a line. At least I can't and I type 105 wpm.

I've BEEN dedicated from day 1, sister, so you are barking up the wrong tree.
15,000 lines per pay period. 8 years with KS, 6 years on this account! nm
Not going anywhere else!
30 years - this WAS my career. The last few years you guys have ruined it.
You work 9-5? Big deal. I work more than you do. I bet I work harder too. Treat US with respect, lady!

Don't talk to us like that and don't expect us to kiss your feet. Kiss ours for a change!
See if you'll be producing more after 30 years of MT'ing and at 50+ years old.
I don't think so. My income increased every year also, until I reached age 50 and 30 years of MT'g, been downhill ever since.
I'm lookin for part-time work (about 3-4 hrs daily) after 13 years of full-time, anyone know of a
company that is hiring flexible part-time?  I'm starting a career in real estate but don't want to totally quit transcription, but I think most places require 25 hours a week and I cant work weekends, as real estate sales are the biggest on the weekend with open houses and people off work to shows homes to.  If you know of a place I'd sure appreciate the info.  Thanks!
It wasn't tough 5 years ago. Or 10 years ago, yet
How to you spell
G-R-E-E-D ???

All the shifty, dishonest, greedy pigs in this country belong in JAIL.
Did MTfor 10 years; QA for 2 years and now
doing editing of speech/voice recognition.  I find all three to be very different.  MT you start with a blank page or a template, QA you have the whole document and you need to give a good quick read and check for correct name, MRN, formatting, and all blanks, etc., and if you know the MT you do not necessarily need to give the whole document voice to typed - editing is a whole 'nother thing.  From what I have seen so far - you have a document and you cannot count on anything being correct - you need to change almost everything in some cases - which is more difficult than a blank sheet as there is a lot of deleting and it is confusing.  It can be helpful because some of the medical words are in there and some of the drugs can be correct - and although I have found easier on the wrists some days - still very, very difficult.  You must match exactly voice to type because you cannot count on anything to be correct - JMHO
I think it just boils down to years and years of
If you kick a dog often enough, it's going to not only turn on you, but other dogs as well. Even though I made more money as an in-house MT, our managers were the worst. All greedy, self-serving women who lied, cheated, and made their way up the management ladder by stepping on those of us who worked under them. They created hostility, distrust and ill will in the office by pitting MT against MT (I suppose they figured it would keep the MT's from turning on THEM!), and the suspicion it bred created a hostile workplace like no other. I finally couldn't take it anymore and quit to work at home, for less than half the money. I'm lucky - I have an employer that at least treats me well, even though the pay stinks. But from what I've read here, that isn't the norm at all. So it's little wonder so many at-home MT's are ready to chew someone's head off. They're tired of being lied-to, cheated on line counts, disrespected, and at the same time expected to produce more and more work, with little to no mistakes. So it's little wonder we're all a mite cranky.
Some of us have been at MDI for years and years. Why should we have to start all the way at the bot
