it seems to me that if it's the MTs who have been there for a couple of years or more that are are liking it fine there and sing the praises, and that it is the new hires or recently hired people who don't like it and don't seem to get work or at least get bounced around.  Just an observation from what I've read.  HTH.

after reading many posts sm
on this board, it seems to be the ole bait and switch routine that these companies are pulling. I feel your frustration.
I have been reading ALL of these posts--sm
concerning KS, and I have seen one consistent trend. It is mostly just ONE person posting negatively about KS and that one person, from her own posts, admits that she could not cut the mustard with KS. Sounds very much like sour grapes to me..but then, that is just my opinion. Ignore her. She is just looking to cause strife.
In reading some of their posts...
It seems that people have been abandoning jobs because they are either unfamiliar with those reports or don't like the dictator, etc., and an E-mail went out that they are monitoring the system and watching for people who commit this company no- no.  If caught, big time trouble lies ahead.  This comes from a recent E-mail from management.  Too many people are doing this, and they are finally cracking down.  I am assuming this is what the poster is referring to.
After reading most of the posts
below about MQ, I would just like to say that Katie is an exception at MQ.  I have been there for quite some time and I'd have to agree with most of what mtroadie said in her original post to Katie.  Things are not straight across the board at this company.  Many, myself included, were never given the opportunity not to do ASR.  Most of us don't make top dollar and are just struggling to get by.  Katie should consider herself very lucky, but I doubt she will as she seems to enjoy flaunting her exceptions to others when I'm sure she's well aware of the differences.  Shame on her for not telling you the truth!!!
What I am also reading in her posts sm

is that SHE needs the externship to be online.  I don't think the school is requiring that.  I don't know of any companies that even offer an externship.  She would have an easier time getting one from a local small service.

It may be that she has a situation, like a job during the day or her children (if she has any) that prevents her from going to an office to complete the externship, but I would think that if it's required to graduate she has known that from the time she began the program.  If it were me, I certainly would have been scouting this out long before this to see what my options were and if I had to go into an office to complete it, I'd have ample time to make whatever arrangements were needed to complete it.

After reading all the posts here and above seems like
this company may just have a dishonest streak. I would say be careful and take another look at your IC job...Good luck to you!
LOL - In reading the old posts it seems
Sorry if I don't share your enthusiasm but you said the same thing last time and the invoice never arrived, nor did the direct deposit.  How much do they pay you to field the questions?  The transcription director (who by the way I bet is about 12 years old judging by her vocabulary) might consider worrying about payroll and not sending out cute pictures and email forwards.  I agree with the other poster - too much of this and is very unprofessional.
Just reading through posts again and sm
your post really struck me as funny!

First of all I am not an MTSO, never have been and never wanted to be. Closest I ever came to that was hiring MTs in my area for MQ years ago, while working from home.

What strikes me funny in your post is that part about someone making you work Christmas, every-other-weekend even if you kid has a soccer game!

I don't know how old you are but in the working world you don't always get to take off when you want to. Moms who work can't have it all! Yes you can take time off for your kids and if you have a job you put in for the time off in advance.

Are you the type of employee that calls at the last minute and says you can't work because your kid has a soccer game or a dentist appointment or a doctors appointment or whatever?

Whatever happened to putting in for time-off in advance unless it was an emergency. I use to deal with MTs like you always wanting to take time off at the very last minute, never taking their jobs seriously.

Any job that you have MT or otherwise, is going to require that you request time off well in advance!

You just gave yourself and your work ethic away Ms. Rachel Rethinking MT!

The entitlement society just gets better and better!
After reading all the posts about MQ and no work,
nationals.   Almost every single large national that I know of has benefits tied to production and a clause in their contract that they cannot be held accountable if there is no work.  Doesn't it make it convenient for them not to have to pay insurance benefits if THEY overhire and there is consistently not enough work to go around? This is the same thing that happened at Transcend.  After all, how much does it really cost the company to overhire when all they have to do is supply the computers, which are a business expense write-off anyway?
I've been reading these posts and

MTSOs reading posts here

To are you surprised, who asked ***edited by Moderator*** why she put her real name here. I've seen this same poster use numerous names here, which doesn't matter to me, but obviously ***edited by Moderator*** isn't her real name. I'm sure she's more intelligent than to attach her real name when writing a msg of this nature. I have no idea what companies read these posts, but I prefer that they do. Maybe, just maybe, they'll realize some of the things that matter to us. But I certainly don't take that thought to the bank!

Please do not list anyone's name in your post.

Am I reading your posts wrong...

are you looking for a company who pays for down time hoping that you will have down time and not have to transcribe for 8 hours???

I do work for Axolotl and they pay more per hour for training and down time than any other company I have run across.

Also, just as an aside here, my experience with Axolotl has been very good all around.  I have not had any supervisor or manager or QA be anything but professional, kind, helpful.  That is my experience.

Also, some companies (not sure if Axolotl is one or not) will hire MTs and get them started BEFORE a new account starts.  Yes, work dries up for everyone for awhile but after the new account starts everyone fits into their respective spots and there is plenty of work to go around for all.  Some companies just work like that.  Again, that is my own personal experience.

After reading your posts, sounds
to me as though you have the problem. If OP irritates you so much, why do you keep responding to her?
Actually I enjoy reading most posts
Even if they are repetitive.  That only reinforces one's opinion.  Accept or not.  Since I did not see the prior posts, I actually thought the post would be informative and there would be useful feedback.  That is what this board should be about, and most of the time it is.  Then you always get the one or two people who have to be rude, nasty, demanding, negative critism.  Nothing useful.  I think it probably makes them feel better about themselves.  My point was, even if she was annoyed by the post - other people might not be. So many topics are actually repetitive here.  If the topic was old or annoying to her, then why participate in the post at all?  What was the purpose of being so ugly?  I don't even recall the post being addressed to her.
from the posts I am reading it sounds sm
like we all worked on the same account. I wonder if the account itself has anything to do with all of this.

Personally, I don't know why anyone would make this stuff up. I know I sure am not.
reading some of these posts I have one word...
sadistic. There are too many sadistic people (too many women) in this world. What causes women to be that way toward others? You are cold-hearted and sadistic when you try to break the back of your sisters. I believe this profession has taken a nosedive due to bad attitudes and women being spiteful and rotten to each other. My opinion from my own personal experience...
When I left my recent hospital, I was getting

I see there is an ad on MT Jobs for MDI Maryland and I was reading the posts below about overhiring
on the accounts. Is this a situation that seems to be getting worse on all accounts. I was interested in talking with the lady but not if there is no work. I have that problem now and I dont need it again. Seems like that is the new thing with MT companies to see who can have the shortest turnaround time. Are MDI Maryland accounts loaded with ESLs or decent accounts.
Reading some of these posts, I see management is out in full force
trying to run damage control. No MT who just got her pay cut is going to say, yay, who cares if I'm going to be making less money, this great company is still paying slightly more than some of those fly-by-night companies, and I luv my new paycut....
Sounds like you've been reading too many "Donna" posts, ROFLMAO nm

recent posts...
Pay is late. Recruiter takes forever to get back with you, if ever.
there are recent positive posts; look below
they pay on time, direct, I have had the same supervisor and QA for 4 years now, they are helpful and nice, insurance not so great, large deductible, all other benefits are good, they have productive and weekend incentives. They do expect you to meet your quota and keep a close on that. Help desk is there 24 hours.
I have read all of the recent posts that came up
when I searched, was wanting more information as it did not answer all the questions I had, that is why I was asking someone to email if they could give me more specifics. Thanks.

It's EASY to search recent posts (sm)

using Google site search.

Ex:  chase site:mtstars.com revealed all the posts written about this transcriptoin company, most recent first.

Just from recent posts there are still ongoing pay issues.
They have easy escription accounts but I can't tolerate being paid late/wrong. Good luck!
Why no recent posts about Omniscribe? Everyone happy there?
Thx
Odd ... I did a search and most recent posts from 2006.
Thanks for responding anyway. Not sure what I'm doing wrong in terms of the search feature.
Over the years, in reading through various insurance coverages, I have not sm

seen any that cover bariatric surgery, although I know some will cover the costs for taking up the hanging skin left afterwards, if it is seen as a medical need or whatever.   When I first saw the commercial for the lap band (iwth the lady's hunger tamed from a lion to a kitten), I thought ... WOW .. what a great idea, and it looks pretty noninvasive compared to the bypass procedures and such.  When I went to the site, though, I do not qualify BMI-wise (kinda sick that I would have to gain weight so I could qualify to lose weight - ha), but out of curiosity, I checked into the price of such a procedure.  If I remember right, it was around $20,000!  If you have to pay for that out of pocket, you could join Jenny Craig instead and save a ton of money!  A friend went on it, and the food runs around $100 a week, which seemed kinda pricey, but by comparison ... not so bad.  And in our profession, it does not help that we sit all day.

Whatever you choose to do, I wish you luck.  People who have never had weight issues, really do not understand how tough it really is for those of us who constantly battle the problem.  I have gone up and down all of my adult life.  I could probably start a clothing shop, as I have all range of sizes in my closet ...sigh.   Anyway ... again, I wish you much luck.

Recall reading years ago of this happening sm
can't recall all the details but the MTs said they needed their money and would discontinue until paid or would go to the physicians (same similar situation)and mention this fact and DID.

They actually posted to the dictator (somehow online, so when thhey tried to dictate, stated the situation -- they could not continue dictation until the company (the dictators contracted with) paid them. Gutsy, not sure I could but THREE WEEKS com'on!!! Seems I am reading this more and more on the boards.

Anyone have any recent info on Sten-Tel out of Massachusetts? Old posts were rather confusing sm

Anyone have recent info on Cymed in Virginia? Oldest posts are from 09/2005- TIA

There were just posts about SR people being left go
typing.  Something smells fishy there.
I worked for them several years ago, so cannot provide recent info, but sm

the work was plentiful and easy (clinic work).  The pay was not so high, and was kinda weird, paid by character.  It is an IC position, and and so you are responsible for all taxes and such.   Also, if I remember correctly, you do not get your first check for 4 weeks, then it is every 2 weeks.  I was only working part-time so it really was not that big of an issue with me.  And I think direct deposit was not available, only paid by check, but it was on time.

As I recall, Carol was very knowledgeable and fair.  With the pay scale going down every day, there are certainly worse places to work.

Hope this helps.  Good luck.
