I've BEEN there, so it is not being overdramatic. As a single parent AND a remote MT. PLUS I didn't qualify for food stamps. I ate crackers and water sometimes to save food for my son. I didn't get child support from a deadbeat father, so it was COMPLETELY up to me. So YES, this can happen to somebody who is an MT with low work/cut in pay and one income. I also didn't have cable. Just the necessities to work and live.
