I think AllType should check out her BBB profile. I wouldn't want her representing my company

She can dispute owing MTs anything but how do you explain away having unsatifactory business practices with numerous complaints. Apparently, AllType doesn't care. Amazing...

At my company I'd ask for $18; probably wouldn't get it, but I wouldn't go lower. nm

If she was so upset about your letter not representing her feelings...sm
then let her write her own letter and express how the minority in this situation feels!!  Kudos for you in your quest to let the country know what kind of shaft you all got!  Don't ever forget that you have a bunch (and I mean a bunch) of MTs behind you, ex-Heartland or not!
The profile does not fit me
never has. I am one who loved the profession and only went into it for that, did not work at home for years and years, by then kids moved out.
Own'er's profile lists degrees in plastics engineering.
Gotta love all the knowledge in medical transcription he brings to the table.
No, I wouldn't do that. The company
you work for should pay that expense. That's my opinion, at least. I certainly would not pay for the license agreement to use the software they want/need me to use.

I wouldn't say I LOVE my company
but I am satisfied at this point because I am not running out of work, the platform I am on is easy and counts fairly and the dictators are about what you find everywhere -- some hard to nearly impossible, some easy, mostly middle of the road to good.  My pay per line is VERY low for my experience (18 years) but if I stay focused I make a good hourly wage.  QA is very hands-off, but accessible if they are needed.  Did I mention that I don't run out of work?  I have to realize that times have changed and I may never make $30-50 an hour again.  My company is stable, but they off-shore.  One more thing -- I don't run out of work.  :)   Feel free to e-mail.
I still wouldn't want to work for a company
who would use a recruiter like that - one who represents many companies and knows little about the company, etc., supposedly. Its more a screener position, which can be good, but it can be marred with personal issues. I was hiring on for a job not too long ago when the recruiter quit mid stream and a new one took her place. I was being considered for a key position in the company, and then all communication ceased. I thought it odd, but knew it was not meant to be. Turns out I got a great job shortly thereafter. I was lucky enough to find out who the new recruiter was, at the company which just vanished mid way thru hiring, and knew immediately it was a person of questionable character whom many of us know from this board, and I know that she recognized my name from these boards, and our personal conversations over the years about how I felt about her banning policies, etc. I also was contacted recently by this same person to go and join her new boards, as she advised me that the horrible previously banned posters would now be allowed to post - of which I had to remind her I was one, and I asked to be removed from her mailing list, which she was the one using from here, but claiming the new board owner would be hijacking. Too much drama! So, this company lost out on a top-notch MT because a brandie new recruiter for multiple companies hopped in mid stream and didn't like me. Again, to me, it spoke volumes that the company would listen to someone with her infamous known reputation, let alone hire her to screen for applications. Since most of the MT industry was banned from her site, that would eliminate nearly the whole profession! And yes, she recruits for multiple companies, none of which I would be interested in working for if they choose her to represent them. It works both ways. This supposedly professional recruiter gets to sit at home on her computer, comparing applicants names with posters from this board, and makes her decisions based on THAT. Not cool. I know of another woman recruiter who was a dollar shy of a Happy Meal. She was a piece of work, too, and if she's floating around, heaven help anyone looking for a job. I was actually just about to take a job a while back with another company when she popped in to say hello, and asked me what my currently salary was. I told her, as she came in under the representation of this company. I told her my salary and she wrote back that I was a liar, nobody at said company made that salary. She said she still had connections at this company, and knew nobody, absolutely nobody made my hourly rate. Well, its a company known for that, paying high, paying low, and that's why I was with them so long, I was making good bucks. I was shocked beyond words, and declined the company's offer after that incident. Again, a loose cannon recruiter is bad for a company's image, and should be. They should have more discretion in hiring for this key position. Oh, yes, and how did I meet this last nightmare recruiter? I had run into her once on these boards and we chatted a few times. About a year later, she was recruiting for 1 of multiple companies, and apparently was attacking many of the applicants, in much the same way as she later did me. There was a page of posts from MTs who were flattened by her behavior, and were posting about it, even giving her name. Many old timer MTs then came on to share about this woman's reputation. I actually defended this person, posting that I had never experienced anything but professionalism in my dealings with her. Well, I went thru the same burn a year or so later. I believe the company back then replaced this recruiter, as they went thru a huge shortage period of MTs. I'm sure she's still lurking out there somewhere, along with the new one, and its just a shame for the companies that they seem to be oblivious to these personalities. I stayed at my job, making the imaginary salary that I could not possibly be making, literally laughing all the way to the bank, as the saying goes. Hang in there. The right recruiter with the right company will come along for you. When all lines up appropriately, that's the job that was meant for you.
Wouldn't work for a company?
A company calls you and says We are hiring an IC MT and the pay 11 cpl. The only thing is that you have to use one space after your periods. Dang that extra space! Gets me every time. Sorry, I cannot except the position because I am quite fond of that other space and you have no right to try and take it away from me :) In good fun.
I know nothing about this company, but I just wanted to say just because she wouldn't post her na
means absolutely nothing.  There are reasons why a person may not want to post his or her name about such a volatile issue.  I was in the same boat a few months ago.  I would have implicated someone else.  Sorry, this may not make sense, but I'm just pointing out that she may have a valid reason.
It wouldn't be a small company in SW GA would it? If it is, consider yourself lucky you got away

Wouldn't work for them if they were the last company on earth.
Go to their web wite, read the second paragraph. It says:

Creating a new way of getting IT done. Faster, cheaper – and yes, even better.

That tells you what they think of American MTs. Why would any American MT work for them?

I wouldn't waste my time to come here to sing praises of a company. ahh

I come here sometimes to vent and to hopefully keep some other poor person from having to suffer the same bad time.  But I don't come here to slather prasies on some company because they are doing what they profess the are supposed to be doing in the first place.  I'm doing my job - and if they are doing their job - nothing needs to be said.

As long as you don't designate it as a company sponsored board I would think they wouldn't car

I wouldn't quit a decent company for seasonal low work volume.
I'd hang around and see what the New Year brings. I wouldn't say that if you were working for MQ, but I would for a company with a decent reputation. If it is still slow in January, I'd talk to my supervisor and find out what her take is on the situation.
You'd better check out the Company
Board on them. Doesn't sound like a very good place to work. Posts say they charge you for using their software, etc. and pay using Paypal. Click on Company Board, put Medgarde in search and you'll see what I'm talking about.
Company Check
Has anyone heard of Just Your Type transcriptions? How is the company? Any resources will help.
How can I check this, and can you share the name of the 2nd company? nm

Why would a company do a credit check?

They are not loaning you money and you're not purchasing anything on credit are you?

My thought too which is why I did a check on the company
and apparently the company does some transcription.  I also have a watch on my credit report, etc., so will know if I am a victim of identity theft.  I will know where to start looking!!

Mary/writer has written a post to the company board stating that she had filled the position. She thanked people for their posts. I think she was taken aback by one very mean email she received. I am surprised she didn't get far more. Of course $25 for three hours of work is ridiculously low, but I bet she could have been treated much more nicely. Some of the people who post on here are so unkind. I don't think they would be happy anywhere with any amount of money. How disheartening.
I have a check from an MT Company that is dated 2/16. I have not been able to-sm
cash it because when I call the bank the funds are not available.  What recourse do I have??  I really could use the money.  I know I can't get blood out of a turnip though so I realize I may be out this $$.  Someone told me if I deposit the check and it bounces I can report her to the DA for a bad check.  Is there anything I can do just knowing it is no good???? Thanks.
I wish people wouldn't be so encouraging. Then maybe we wouldn't constantly run
.
I work IC for a company who pays by check in mail
Never had a bounced check either.  I can see why you would worry though.  Maybe they will do the switch eventually.
It is an Indian run company. If you'll check the archives they
have been asked about several times the last month or so.  There has been nothing good said about them.
Gosh..does this company start with an F. In any event, you need to double check with your insurance
provider to see the exact date the policy was cancelled. Sometimes, companies have to pay preminums ahead of time. I would just make sure and if they are still taking the money out, you need to send a certified letter telling them to return your money at the point you were paid up and the policy cancelled or reinstate the insurance. Why pay for something your not getting.
Check Monster, CareerBuilder, MedHunters.com. Check with the companies you see listed if they're

The company takes the money out of your salary, before they cut the check. It is your earned money,

Does background check include credit check?

AllType, Inc.
Anyone familiar with this company?  Could find nothing in archives.  They have a job ad on job board.  Would like to know anything about them before applying or taking tests.  TIA.

I had posted below, but I had to make another post in answer to this one. I have been with the company for 2 years now and have never had a problem with being to do more than what I signed on for. As far as tech support, everyone has been extremely helpful to me. I just moved cross country and one of our tech guys was nice enough to set up my computer to be compatible with wireless internet. As far as offshoring, I do not think so. Honestly, you sound a little hostile, so maybe that is why things did not work out for you.

Can anyone tell me about AllType?
alltype
Thank you ex-alltyper. I was starting to feel like I was the only one who felt this way. I actually ended up finding another place that provides better. Another complaint would be that they have a tendency to need you when they need you and then when work is low and you ask for more all of a sudden they cannot help you.

I have 5 accounts on 1 system and 2 that I learned in vein on the other as every time I have wanted to work on them during a slow period it is always caught up. I would look somewhere else.

hi all!  what is the deal with alltype.  I have considered possible employment with them.  Do they still have different systems to learn?  thanks in advance
Alltype
I just talked with them last week - what's the deal. They offered me a cent less per line than I make now - but I am looking for more work. Please let us know details.
AllType
Can anyone tell me about their insurance benefits, cost, etc.?
Alltype
I worked for them 2 years ago Said I would be getting great accounts Make $$$ Sometimes I would but mostly especially on weekend I would get one ESL dictator who was constantly behind in his dictation. I am not a newbie, have over 12 years experience but he was just horrible. When I complained they said I would get better accounts as time wore on but I couldn't take it after 4 months and moved on.

Anyone have any experience with this company out of New Jersey?
What's up with AllType?
Is there anyone else who was pretty much forced out by the new policies at AllType? The hourly people are being put on production at 3.5 cpl unless you can make 2500-3000 lines per day editing, listening to offshore op notes and all that (about 95% offshore work). Everything just changed overnight. It went from bonuses and talk of growth and stability to now I hear the HR department was downsized and the experienced people who made a decent wage are hitting the door. Does anybody know what REALLY happened with this company? I was a lead QA person and I had to train new employees, do reviews and all that, and then was notified that in addition to this I would have to maintain the ridiculously high line count. I just don't get it.
HERE'S WHAT'S UP WITH ALLTYPE

I obviously can't know who is doing the posting of e-mails regarding ALLTYPE's pilot quality assurance program, but those of you who want accurate answers, I invite you to write to me (gkelly@alltype) or call me directly 800-560-8973.

I will attempt one last time here to set the record straight.  Let me first acknowledge that I understand the anxiety that comes with moving from hourly pay to production pay.  I remember when this happened in transcription in the 90s.  But, let's remember too, that hard-working, high-producing MTs who tolerated no interruptions in their work day actually saw an increase in pay, and other MTs paid a heavy price in loss of income.

Moving quality assurance to production pay is keeping in line with the industry moving to speech recognition.  As I have stated in a previous posting, editors are full-time benefit eligible at 2000 lines reviewed per day (3 hrs 20 min of dictation reviewed). QA tiered incentives start at 2001 lines and go to 4 cents per line at 2500 lines reviewed per day. FTE editors get 80% paid health insurance, accrued PTO, holiday pay, overtime pay, monthly TAT bonus, and quarterly QA bonus.  This program pays a nice hourly wage.  For instance, at 3000 lines per day, 30000 lines in two weeks, editors make $13.59/hr.  At 3500 lines per day, 35,000 lines in two weeks, editors make $16.00/hr.  And remember ALL lines in every report are payable.  Three thousand (3000) lines per day is 5 hours of dictation reviewed in 8 hours, 3500 lines per day is less than 6 hours of dictation reviewed in 8 hours. And it is not necessary to do 100% voice-to-text relisten on all files.

We have worked hard to take care of our editing staff, reward our star performers, and keep our model in line with the industry.  Thank you for the opportunity to provide this information.

President

What's new at AllType?
I'm looking to possibly apply for an Editor position at AllType and would like current information if possible.  I have read the archives and would like to know if their editor production pay is actually worth it.  Thanks in advance.

Can you give me anything specific? Any personal experiences or rationale for such dramatic advice? Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can email me if you want. Thanks!

pay is always on time but the 24 hour Tech support you are supoposed to have is never available. you are the one that is blamed when you cant work your shift.

I don't know if it is the same Alltype, but I was offered a job with them. Did all the paper work ect. She told me I needed a C-phone. I told her I did not have one. She said she would send me one. I got a USB pedal (which I had already) and headset! Tech support was supposed to tell me how to get files via the Internet -- never happened. Still waiting for a response. This has been well over 2 years now. She had called on the phone and said work should start in a week -- never did get set-up and by this time I had returned her pedal/headset saying I was no longer interested. I asked about billing/blanks the answer? Both??? Both??? What is that supposed to mean? It was clear to me this person/owner did not have a clue about medical transcription. I never used a C-phone but I know it is not a USB pedal and headset. Good luck to you.
