Does anyone know anything about this company? I am going to be testing with them, but I just wanted some opinions first.

    Thanks!

Is there way to tell is one's company is being sold? SM

I know the company I work for is in financial trouble.  How can figure out if a sale is in the offing?  Is cutting payroll a sign?

I won't mention company name. Besides, so many have already been sold, I figure someone here may have some tips.

Worked for company that was sold
I worked for a US company that was sold to an Indian company.  It was truly a nightmare.  No one had any kind of plan as to what was going to happen, there were management changes weekly, and in the end, nearly ever US MT was laid off or fired and nearly all of the work was sent to India.  Right after the company was sold, paychecks bounced, utilities in our building were shut off for nonpayment, expenses were not reimbursed, and even health insurance premiums were not paid and many people had no healthcare coverage for nearly a month.
When the lady sold her company to..sm
Execuscribe, it went downhill from there.  I was hired by them, went through ALL of the testing except the Psych thing.....and then I was told I would be paid 7 cpl and I had to purchase liability insurance.  CC....this Denise person must have been your "bestest" friend????
So what do all you QT'ers think: Will they/have they sold the company to them? nm
    xx
They sold out to another company a couple of
    years ago.  Don't remember who.
Is this company off-shore owned? sm
I will bet this company is off-shore owned.  My experience has been these companies expect US workers to work like off-shore workers.  They think we are so grateful to have a job, any job, that they can walk all over us and we will take it, just like they do to their countrymen.  US workers who go along with this kind of illegal abuse, deserve what they are getting.  Make MT the job you want it to be, don't accept just anything.  Pick and choose the companies you work for, find out if they are off-shore owned with the token US front men.  Find the kind of accts you want to do and at a price that is agreeable to you.  Testing gets easier every time you do it.   Get proactive.  This will take time, don't rush yourself and don't quit one job until you have another up and in place.
Still a French owned company .
I don't shop at Target for the same reason.
The company is owned by the person who
I don't know much about the company itself, but that would be enough for me not to look at it.  I also don't think the pay is too great, 7-8 cpl.
It is a family owned company and
Yes, every report is put on hold until it is released from QA. I guess they go over it,or just release it, I do not know, but every report that is transcribed must be put on QA hold/sent to QA even if no blanks are in it.
This is an Indian-owned and run company and they do
outsource. From what I've heard pay is also on the low side.
DRC was just sold to a company called "Acusis".
No, I never heard of them, either.
not a major company - woman owned
around 100 employees but not positive
You could not be more wrong. Besides, rumor is she sold the company today. nm
Not sure who it was to, but I heard she is somewhere signing papers.  Hope not MQ.  Shame that a good company is giving in to the $$$.
They do not offshore. The owner's original company was bought by MQ; started a new company, whic
That's about all I know. I would give them a try. They sounded good!
My experience with quality/quantity with an Indian owned company

I worked for an offshore owned company where it was all about quantity.  Company even kept a HORRIBLE MT just because she cranked out the lines.  Didn't matter her quality was crap and was considered a joke by middle managment.  India did most typing but with US edit.  Typists changed regularly so it wasn't like they learned to do better.  Quality would improve slightly and then would notice, after couple of months, that quality was crap again so we knew we were dealing with a new batch of typists. Even so, the push was always on to get the jobs off US edit and send Indian work straight to client.  Of course, the clients never knew they were not getting US editing anymore, as they got no price reduction when they no longer had that level of work being done on their jobs.  The problem is the facilities accept the crap work so why should the companies change.  It took a while but I finally found a US owned company where quality matters.  Now one of the first questions I would ask a prospective employer is if they are US owned.

Is it true Dictaphone is now owned by Nuance (an Indian company)? (sm)

that explains why the downhill slide.

It was a great company before othey sold out to Medquist years back.
    Now it's crap.
Must be a small company. I have never talked to the owner of the company I work for. sm
He wouldn't have time. Why would someone talk directly to the MTSO? Most do not know (or care) about the details just the big picture.
Their website touts themselves as being an "AMERICAN" family-owned company. Kind of ironic! n

Great woman to work for. Pay is always on time, plenty of work. She runs an honest company with integrity.

Kathy is not the owner of Breitner Transcription, don't know who
    you are talking about.
    Transcription Services LLC/Brent Sexton owner
Anyone ever work for this company?  Any comments?
Is this really the owner of a company
Wow! You are soooooooooo ghetto and ignorant. I am speechless!
    Owner of a company
I agree with you. I would not want the responsility of owning a company or even managing. My dad was in management for 28 years. You are not there to make everyone happy and sometimes people have to be let go. If you cannot keep your end of the deal I would make you move on. Actually I would be a real hard a-- if I were a manager. A lot of it has to do with respect for each other. You need to appreciate what you have. Too many times these days everyone just wants a pay check regardless of anything else. Some people do not take pride in their work or anything else. Every thing is not hunky dorry every single day, either on our side or a manager/company owner's side. It is just not realistic.
and........ the owner of this company
is subcontracting work out for Medware. Medware and herself are one in the same.
    I am a company owner
I hire people who can work whenever they want and how much they want and they don't need to tell me, so I don't have a clue about those things. I have work out of turnaround time, but I have no worries because my employees will work whenever they need a little money, so the jobs can just wait on them. Perfect scenario.
From the company owner to the employees
after somebody mistakenly forwarded an email from someone in India to the company employees- then they had to fess up. The person with the email slipup decided to "change jobs" within the company and it went to the pits after that with incompetent managers.
Talking to owner of a company
The reason I would talk to an owner of a company is simply this. If you have gone to the people you are told do and nothing is resolved it is time to go over their heads and elsewhere. When I did this he/she had no idea it was that bad. Now you know why?
The owner of the company I work for says she will never sell but I doubt anyone could
pass up millions if put in front of them. I couldn't, that's for sure. A nice island somewhere with someone to bring me slushy drinks :)
You obviously know nothing about the owner or the company. Many accounts are going to internet base
Long distance is not a big deal with digital connections.
the reason for the discrepancy has been explained by the owner of the company already - nm

I removed the posts after speaking directly to the owner of the company. If
you have questions or concerns you need to take it up with her.  There is one specific person causing most of this grief.  I have CHOSEN to remove the posts, I was not forced to.
Probably no "real" company name. I got the impression she was a private owner her own small bu
and..probably not a company we would have heard of before anyway. I applied so we shall see.
The person who posted the job ad today is the owner of the company, not the recruiter.
Professional MT Recruiting Services run by a woman named Terri is no longer allowed to recruit on this website.  However, it should be understood the actions of the recruiter should not be held against All American Medical Transcription.

I used to work for a company who separated the MTs by work type daily. sm
regret ever leaving that company. we had a max of 4 MTs typing a large training hospital with clinics. i was assigned consults and discharges with consults being my priority. another MT had ops and admits, etc. it worked so much better. we were RARELY out of TAT and each of us were trained on other report types for backup in case someone need to take off. not to mention that we were easily able to learn the ESLs because we got them repeatively enough to learn them, set up templates, etc. much, much more productive for us as MTs, for the company as work flow, and i am sure for the dictator because they got someone who knew them and their dictations well enough to be accurate. i don't understand why large MTSOs cannot comprehend how much more beneficial that would be.
hateful owner, hateful managers, awful company. You'll hate it. period

TransTech is a good company. Debbie is the owner and a good one at that! nm

The email said the owner as she is the owner of the email software package. sm
We got the list from AHDI. If someone does not wish to be on our email list, there is a link to click on at the bottom of those for opting out. We immediately remove those that click the link.

We also have a few mailling going out. Same thing - if you opt out of the email program, we will remove you from all contact.

We need transcriptionists for many new accounts and have ads on here and other sites, as well as several magazines. We are going to need over 100 MTs in the next 3 months due to new accounts and more work on existing accounts!
Great little company..I worked there for a short time, IC, and pay always on time, great owner too!
I had good dictators, they use FTP, and I had a 12-hour window to return the work.
    Sold...

Even with their financials still up in the air? How could a company do due diligence to make such a large purchase?

What regionals offices were told? CSC's or what? Got anymore info?

    Lee sold? yah...........nm
    :)
    sold
    makes my stomach hurt

    MQ being sold
I have only heard through the grapevine (pretty good vine though) that they will probably file chapter 11, be sold and restructured
    I sold out...
When I graduated J-school all the jobs at newspapers paid basically minimum wage - I called a temp agency one day to see if they had any jobs (I had registered and done temp work previously for them) and they said a family practice needed someone to do medical transcription. I told him I had never done that but he said "Well obviously with your degree you know about language and grammar, so go ahead." And THAT is how I got into MT - no training or school whatsoever! This was 1993 - not sure if that happens these days. I decided I liked making more than minimum wage so I "sold out" - but I freelance. I'd say if U have freelanced U are certainly NOT a "wannabe" - congrats!!! U don't need a journalism degree for that - just talent, which U obviously must have!
