WHAT A COMPARISON!!

If you look at previous posts, you are one of the few happy at Amphion.  It is common knowledge that the amount of secretarial work is HUGE and slows down one's production.

I have transcribed almost 15 years and they were one of my worst experiences.  People that are applying should know exactly what they are getting into.

Comparison
Would like to get opinions about Chartscript, a platform used by Keystrokes. How user-friendly is it? Any good, bad would be appreciated. If anyone knows how it compares to Bayscribe that would be helpful too. Thanks.
BEST COMPARISON I CAN THINK OF - sm

Like walking in a parade or working in a large circus along with some horses, elephants.  Only now, forced to walk BEHIND these creatures -- shovel or pick up their droppings -- but the horse or pachy is earning TWICE as much as I am.

How can I get along with my co-worker.

I swear, I usually get along with most people but this one is trying my nerves.  This lady did not get along with the other transcriptionists.  She claimed they made too much noise, their hand lotion smelled (even though it was unscented), they shook the cubicle too much, always a complaint.  So what the boss do? She moves me and the this whinny lady to a little office all to our own.  I wasn’t complaining.  Anyway, the only thing I hear out of this office lady is either bragging about herself or putting one of the other Transcriptionist down.   She does put atmosphere in our office.  I had to get up and go pee.  She gives me a dirty look.  I say “what.”  Then she says I have this psychiatric disorder that I have to get up and down too much.  Another complaint she had about the other office girls, they were in an out of the office too much, never sat still.

Then, she starts complaining about this ESL she was transcribing for.  He is horrible, he needs to go back where he came from blah blah blah, I just chuckled a little.  SHE says “ITS NOT FUNNY, in-house employee.”  Then she starts in on how her neighbor in her apartment complex was making too much noise with his girlfriend last night.  I chuckled.  ITS NOT FUNNY, in-house employee. She had to walk further to her apartment.  I said why, she said “OBVIOUSLY SOMEONE HAD MY PARKING PLACE hospital employee.” Then she slammed something on her desk and went to typing.  I am sorry, I don’t know how to deal with this.

We usually have lunch together, although lately I have managed to back out.  She will embarrass me.  She happened to know “Dr. Bones”  (orthopedist) receptionist who was having lunch with his mom and pop.  She told mom and dad Bones that she transcribes for Bones and that Bones gets his left and right mixed up.  I don’t know why but that embarrasses me.  I don’t think she should be telling people that.  She will also stop docs in the hallway and talk about their dictation that we don’t have time for them flipping through papers, chewing gum or stuff like that.  Gosh, I wished one of them would put her in her place.  Thanks for letting me vent.
Tto the IRS worker
Thank you. I have had a 40-year career in this business, have always played fair with my boss, with employees (when I had them) and with the IRS. I just have no patience with people who try to either work off the books or to cheat their employees. I say, good for the IRS! I hope you get them!
Maybe we had the same co-worker? LOL!!!
When I was training in-house to be an MT, we had a woman who had worked there for many years. The hospital had just gotten new printers, HUGE contraptions with this big heavy plastic 'silencing' hood on huge hinges.

On day she was in a hurry to snatch something off the printer and the hinges were still tight from being new.

She lost patience VERY quickly, grabbed the entire plastic silencing hood off the printer, and threw it across the room.

I was temporarily a bit frightened, but everyone in the room started laughing so I figured it was par for the course for her.

Just to be on the safe side, though, I tried to stay out of her way when she was near anything heavy or sharp.

Ah, those were the days...I laugh about it even now!!!

Company Comparison

Want to compare two companies, please.  Precyse and Medware.  Platform?   Benefits?  Sure appreciate it.

such a silly comparison.
While clarification from a supervisor is always a good idea, to compare asking for input here from other MTs to ''flagging down strangers on the street'' is pretty silly. (about as ridiculous as declaring it shows ''rampant mental illness'')
MQ in comparison to Landmark

Anybody familiar with Landmark Transcription and the Extext program they use?  Thinking about a change here and would like to know.  They also use Dictaphone and a word based program....I have been on the MQ DQS for so long, I am very unfamiliar with other programs.  Thanks.

Why the MQ and Landmark comparison? Maybe
you'd get some answers if you just opened it up to questions about Landmark. I would not randomly link together 2 companies. This post keeps moving around, but all I know about Landmark was what I had posted before, that I believe they pay based on visible characters per line, not the usual 65 characters with spaces pay rate. Of those I know who had gotten offers, that was the rate. Again, no idea about the platform or Dictaphone, but maybe somebody would answer if you just open it up for anybody! Good luck in your search.
lines comparison

Are you able to get as many lines per hour with nuance as you are able to get typing.  About how many lph do you type and about how many using nuance?

Thanks

platform comparison
Can anyone at Transtech tell me how their platform compares to others, such as at Sperhis, Diskriter, charscript.net.  Would be intested in hearing from someone who can compare their production with the above and with TransTech.  Thanks in advance.
NO, merely a comparison. 300-400 lines sm
an hour to listen through and edit HOUR AFTER HOUR for 8 hours.

Let's see what would that come to hourly

300 X 3 = ?

400 lines an hour X 4 cents=?

I have always been an early worker but now..sm
there is NO work and when it does come in it seems everyone is waiting like me to grab it and then there is NO work as there were only a few reports. I addressed these concerns only to be told I needed to be more flexible.
NIGHT WORKER

Thank you for the clarification.  It is apparent that one of two scenarios is happening here.   You are either charging too little of your client, undercutting all competition, or you are keeping too much of the profits for yourself!!

Since you have direct contact with this client, why not train them to train the horrible, ESL, fast-talking dictator!!

BTW, I work the night shift, so the time I spend here is my own time, as if that is any of your business.

To hard worker
I was looking for the same thing and found it at Landmark. They have very high standards, are kind and decent people and best of all, they leave you alone to get your work done. In short, they treat their MTs with respect and like we are actually adults. I recommend them!
I want to do a comparison now that everything seems to be changing at MQ and the other nationals. sm

what is the starting line count rate for acute care at some of the big nationals? or the range?  How about for radiology or pathology?  Do most have incentive programs and what do they consist of?  If we could put it all together, we would eliminate a lot of posts and maybe have a reference for those of us looking so that we do not waste time, energy and the possibility of being lied to.

Here is what I know:

ETranz - 0.10 per line but my checks keep bouncing when I finally get paid very late.  No incentive.  No direct deposit.

Transolutions - 0.08 per line.  They supply the equipment and computer (or did 2 years ago).  Their system is a dinosaur.  I always got paid on time.

It is nearly impossible to do a comparison when posts
which even mention brand x, with no discussion involved, are restricted or removed. I think at one time or another most of us have worked there.
Email me for comparison numbers

I don't feel comfortable publishing them here, but email me privately and I will send you a comparison of the old rates and the new rates that obviously proves its a raise.  I'm working tonight but will gladly send it tomorrow to anyone that asks.

Also they sent an email to everyone yesterday stating PTO will be calculated just the same as it was before, based on what you made the prior pay period, bonus and all.

I guess quite a few people that are freaking out about this are going to feel silly in about a month when they are making more money and find out they were wrong.

ASR line rate comparison

Can someone give me the average ASR they are doing on hospital accounts?  Webmedx has recently switched to this and I am not sure it is a good move for me.  I currently transcribe between 250 and 300 lph and with ASR implemented and still learning, I am only getting 200 lph with it.  My cpl rate remains the same for another few weeks but then drops to 35% of my normal for any ASR work. ASR will have to do a lot better job or my income will drop dramatically.  Any words of wisdom appreciated.

Can I e-mail a Transtech worker?
Can someone who works at Transtech post here so I can e-mail some questions that I don't want to ask on the board?
grow up weekend worker nm
lkdjfdljs
Absolutely. Worker drones. However with this
These worker drones have Rah Rah capabilities. Most stay silent though and take it. The minority speak out and get dumped on. Sounds like some kind of controlling atmosphere and if so, there must be something to hide. I don't know, but I won't be a drone, for nobody nowhere, no matter how great people say they are!
Never met the offending office worker
Thanks for the reply. I don't know why she would alter my reports unless she is jealous that I work at home and she doesn't. That can be a big reason for lots of people to try to undermine those of us smart enough and trained enough to work from home. I do have any attorney who is interested in taking it on contingency and he mentioned about the HIPAA violation element. Still pondering whether to make a big splash in this small town.
That sure is a RUDE way to treat a co-worker.
Actions like that usually do.
Possible at Webmedx for very fast worker. NM
x
I would say yes - the worker agreed to the terms.
When hired and by continuing their voluntary working, the worker is agreeing to the terms.

Does anyone know of a comparison list of transcription coompanies?

About to lose home-based hospital job.  Looking for transcription company.  So many.  They all say the same things...all claim to be great.  Where to start?  Help!

line count/pay rate comparison
I make 200-250 lph (everything except RAD) with Medquist and would like to know how this compares to other companies like Transcend, Keystrokes, Allegiant, EMDAT, eScription, etc.  Looking to leave MQ after 5 years, (17 years MT/ME experience).
That's disgusting, 1000 US worker versus 600
that I gave Transcend the boot a few years back during their difficult times. They were awful to work for, and now I know why. This was all hush hush back then and still now. We're not supposed to have the intelligence to read the newspapers, let alone find the news.  Backstabbers for sure, and one of the biggest games in town, when they always screamed they would never do this to us.  Yeah, right. Go Transcend India!! And they don't even have the guts to call us US MTs - we're domestics.
Assimilate? What are we worker drones. Next thing you know
will only be given time to regenerate at the hive before we continue to assimilate others and continue to do the Queen's bidding. Is this perfection?
If you're a hard worker and a valuable MT, then yes it is
I have been there for 4 years and if I have ever had a problem (which is very rare), it has always been fixed RIGHT away.
insulting
here here, but didn't you like the pretty picture on the oversized coaster!!!!
Insulting or what?????
I read this ad and my blood pressure got so high, I came off my seat. Old Timey doesn't seem to mean having a brain. Perhaps those of us who have been in this profession -- personally I have been for over 45 years -- have burned out all of our brain cells. Gimme a break. The whole attitude of that ad is insulting. Sure hope she sits and waits for applicants -- maybe she can check out the Wal-Mart Electronics Department.
They only pay 7/8 cpl! That's insulting!
nm
.04 and .05 insulting
Amen! Glad you will not let them post such an insulting remuneration.
3 cpl insulting indeed
What next! Will we have to pay to work?
nobody is being insulting.

In my response, i posted about the NEGATIVE response shown to the original poster who simply thanked me for an encouraging response.  Somehow, the negative poster(s) assumed that their response was not appreciated as there was no specific thank you involved.  FYI, the OP did not say she didn't appreciate the other posts; but someone with preconceived ideas jumped to conclusions huh? therefore, my post about attitude was, i believe, correct.  Remember, she was a new hire, excited about her new job, and looking for some support, NOT to get slammed with a bunch of negatives.

Again, when you have a bum attitude, it affects your personal relationships, your work relationships and your decisions as well.  There is a time and place for negativity and i don't think that is what the OP was looking for.

Their pay is insulting.
Less than 7cpl. No kidding.
wow.......that is insulting.
was that an offer made to an MT with experience?

Especially as an IC! Very insulting.
x
I learned a lot about MTSO from her post..not a job for me every..I'm definitley a worker bee.

Someones credit has absolutely nothing to do with how good a worker they are.
There are more people now days that have low credit scores compared to those that do not. A lot of different scenarios can put you with bad credit like major medical bills.

I don't think people should be judged on their work habits by something that may be beyond their control.
that rate is insulting!
Try to find something that pays hourly. It is very hard to make money being paid by the line for QA, especially if the accounts are hard or the MTs do not do good work.
That's just as insulting as implying that
those of us who had everything go wrong had it happen because we weren't quality MTs. Attitude is 90%?  I'll tell ya, I sat there with my HAPPY EXCITED attitude for days and days and days and days, and guess what???  No work was no work was no work.  Had not 1 bit to do with my attitude, and its insulting for you to even speak that.  There were a great number of us hired on at the same time, all different accounts and platforms. I think one cheerleader made it thru without a hitch, and the rest of us got hit with one technical problem after another, keeping our chin up and plodding thru all these hoops, because we had a GREAT attitude, only to encounter no work over and over and over.  Days turning into weeks, weeks into over a month. Give me a break.  Attitude.    They don't have their act together for some reason, and it sure was not OUR attitudes.
This is absolutely insulting. nm
xx
Who's pay isn't insulting anymore?
The best I've ever been offered was 8 cpl for standard transcription on an account that only had editing at half that. The MT business just does not seem fair anymore. Sometimes I think they don't want us to make a living. But it is not like they can survive without us. Besides greed, what are they (MTSOs) thinking these days?
When your advice is insulting
You may be the best at your profession, if you think so.  However, when time has taken its toll on you....it's probably time to go.  Or maybe just try to stick to what it is that you do best, but it is certainly not communicating with people.
Not only insulting, worthy of becoming physically

No offense, but you are insulting the wrong ones.
You are correct when you say that difficult jobs make you a better MT. But the same holds true for cherry-pickers. They would be decent MTs (as well as honest ones)if they were honest enough to type whatever came up into their que. In my early days as an on-the-job MT, I myself had a more experienced MT cherry-pick and my lines and paycheck suffered because of it. I don't check for cherry-picking, never have, but I resent them thinking they have a right to pick and choose what I type. I, too, now am good enough to do any job, but that is no excuse for others to be dishonest. You obviously must not have to worry about money. It's a shame you are insulting the honest MTs who are complaining about the dishonest ones. You seem to be insulting the wrong people.
