Any input, time clock, expander program, LPH, etc.?

Hi,

Curious about the platform used, LPH or weekly requirement, timeclock or timesheet, sound quality, work types.  Do you get your preferred work types.  Are you on only one primary account with backups, working primary mostly?  Is ShortHand compatible?

Thanks for any info.

superior global - are they paying on time now? any input since july?xx

No PTO for part-time. Not sure if you can work part-time or not since recent rule change. sm
You do pay a deposit for their equipment.
Time change info......sm
Go to Microsoft.com and look for patch for time zone edit...easy to find..should be on the top. Download and you'll be fine.
Okay. Flex your time. Change your schedule if necessary. sm
If you have been in this business any length of time, you should know how work volumes fluctuate, especially around the holidays.
all the time. Can change it to be played on Express

I'm thinking............Time to change careers.
Why do people struggle so hard until they are so miserable that they live, sleep, and breath misery. You are right though about struggling, it's never going to change so I am taking classes to get my coding degree. I am choosing NOT to be miserable anymore.
take the plunge
Do I detect a touch of underlying hostility? What is making you so angry? Something I said? Hope it's okay with you if I answer your snappy and slightly snide question.

Nice and fair are important to me. If they weren't, I would not have asked that question in the original message. For me, fair-minded would be that quality where mgmt would engage themselves in such efforts as oversight of cherry-picking or load leveling amongst transcriptionists during either unusually slow or busy times. It can be done and has been done. I have worked for those who do and those who don't and PARDON ME, but I prefer the former. Another thing that comes to mind would be something on the order of not taking complete advantage of a good experienced Transcriptionist by throwing all the ESLs onto her desk while failing to give less experienced ones a chance to learn this part of the craft...the hard way, like all of us do. Fair-minded would be someone who is out front at all times, letting me know what to expect, good or bad, so I can make informed decisions about my life as their employee...or not. Fair-minded has direct effects on my pocketbook, so excuse me for asking this question.

As for nice, here's the deal. I am inclined to stay more motivated when I work for nice people who are not snippy, snide and sarcastic, for example. Don't think that makes me much different than anyone else who does this for a living. Usually when someone is nice to me, I tend to be nice back...and it makes for less tension on a day-to-day basis. That is just about as far as I care to take my personal relationship with my employer. I like to reserve my stress and energy (and there is plenty of that to go around) for my dictators and my transcription...don't like to share that with undeserving management.

About the platform. Don't need the best. Need good enough. Don't expect everyting to be exactly perfect...anymore than I want someone to expect absolute perfection from me. There is no such thing.

As for the multiple accounts, Ms. emptyMT. I've been at this an awful long time. I get very bored very quickly with the same old dictators, same old reports, same old stuff day after day. I like a good challenge. It was HARD to get good at this. I would like to stay that way. For example, trying to pretend that ESLs are part of that is an exercise in futility. I take the good with the bad...all of it, and try to make the best of it so it can make the best of me. Don't you get it?

I can tell you this much. When I have at least 3 accounts, I don't run out of work...I don't get empty, Ms. emptyMT. It is job security and it is one less headache to worry about in the long run. Don't have to be so fearful of work slow downs. By the way, I am also not so stupid as to not be able to figure out whether or not a company can keep me sufficiently busy. If not, I'm gone. I can be working within a day or two if necessary and I find that fairly comforting. I'm not scared of hard work...it pays off.
I took the plunge

It was the biggest mistake I've made as an MT.

Well, I took the plunge...

Just finished TT's exam, Whew, I sure have gotten used to being able to manipulate reports with pedal.  Pretty extensive exam.  We shall see.

P.

You fill out a time sheet. If you need to make a change sm
to your schedule, you just email them.  They seem pretty flexible about everything.

Hope this helps.

Time change is earlier this year so computer
probably will not ask you to change now, may ask you  at the usual time.
EX-MQer maybe its time to make a change in your name and get on with your life
Have a wonderful evening
you'd be perfect; take the plunge!
who cares if they are fair or nice...if that does not bother you, why not work for MQ? they have the best platform, even better than Precyse. You don't mind working on 7 or 8 accounts, do you? You should do fine, you will really like it...
When is an SE allowed to change to employee (full-time) status?

Is it 11/01/2005 ?????

Thanks so much for informing us who have not received the packet as of yet.

Weren't they at one time OmniMed? If so, they were terrible then! Leopards do not change their

companies change all the time - her info is old, she said. (sm/small message)
A turnover in managers,QA, leads, even recruiters can make an impact and happens all the time, so you never know; old info - grain of salt. newer info more reliable and needs to be found while considering.

Yes I thought it sounded nice. Just hard to change but it is time. Always a little bit of anxiety
about another company and leaving what you know and sort of starting over but sometimes it is time. You know, the fat lady sang.
Nope, more like a matter of time before we're all working for chump change.

Your puter should ask you Sun. morning about making the time change. Just follow the 'custom'

Nothing will change unless we make it change..SM
As long as we accept the exploitation that this MT profession has reduced us to, it will keep going on.  The top of this is the outsourcing.... well, get your legislators involved....better yet, the MEDIA.  How many patients know their private medical information is being outsourced to halfway around the world? The squeeky wheel gets the grease.  Do the patients know that their info won't be sold by some unscrupulous MT (halfway around the globe) to insurance companies, etc., making all this Medical records privacy a joke. It's not just our T-shirts being made in other countries; it's our most personal, private medical information, of which the public is not being made aware of.  Not to speak of undercutting out profession to the bare bone.  Granted, most US MTs are willing to work below market wage just to have a job, especially in economically-deprived areas, where outside jobs are scarce, and kids need to be fed and mortgages need to be paid.  MTSOs know this.  I'll bet they'll be the first to lobby against any action against outsourcing.  (Wouldn't you be...if you got people to work for pennies while you're raking in the big $$$'s ?  Still, notwithstanding the outsourcing problem, we're still going along with all the BS...working for pennies, whatever the client wants, he gets... ever notice how all of the MTSO flak seems to be re. unpaid work...mostly, demographic issues we're not even paid for... bec. It has to be done.. Part of the job... The client put the wrong info but we have to correct it...all unpaid work.  Just give me a job with nothing but straight transcription, w/o the unpaid/demo. flak..I'll take it even at the present, absurd pennies-per-line state of the profession.
Thanks for the Input
I wonder if that is common for them.  Did you find a good company to work for?
Thanks for the input

Isn't it funny that they are advertising on MTjobs that you get one hospital account that will be your own.  Doesn't surprise me.  I think they do a lot of the "bait and switch"  I talked to a recruiter about 6 months ago when they advertised "hospital employee" positions where you are an employee of the hospital, not Diskriter.  I applied right away and they called me right away, but the recruiter acted like she didn't know what I was talking about.  She was trying to hire me as a Diskriter employee.  Finally after I pushed, she admitted that there was only one position open and it had been filled.  I guess things haven't changed.

Thanks for the input.

Any input on....
how reliable they are in terms of work load...consistent amount of work...technical support...pay on time, etc? Thanks
Thank you for all the input!
Thanks for all the great suggestions and feedback. I also thank you for the positive comments as well; the MTs & QAs are actually the ones who are so wonderful, management is just trying to catch up with them. Like many other MT service companies we have made our share of mistakes, and we grateful to those who have allowed us to make up for them.

thanks for the input
It's nice to have someone out there who is nice and willing to give information. Thanks again!  We will see what happens in a couple of weeks.  Hang in there, you will be able to type that much some day. I usually do between 23,000-25,000  a pay period, lots of years though!  You can do it!!
thanks for the input !
I'm looking forward to my training. It's good to hear that you've had a positive experience.
Any input from anyone?
They sound good, look good on paper, have all the things I'm looking for - so what is wrong with them, or is it actually possible that they're a decent company?  I'd love any input.  Thanks so much.
thank you for your input.

Would like input!
I am currently working 2 IC positions.   One- Medium size well known National,  I have been doing for 7 months, easy platform, Op notes only, with a certain line requirement each day, at 10 cpl per 65 characters including spaces, headers and footers.  Real easy to get line count.  Have to submit a schedule with amount of lines I will be doing.   Second position, I started Jan 1, due to running out of work with the 1st IC position.  It also pays 10 cpl per 65 characters including spaces- no headers or footers, Ops then ERs in that order.  Easy platform, and so far plenty of work, as when there are no Ops then there are plenty of ERs- small MTSO, not national.  No line requirement, no specific time-frame to type, weekends is only optional if I want to.   Both have direct deposit,  the first one is Statutory where they pay 1/2 Social Security.   My dilema, I am going to give one up but having trouble deciding which one.  I like the small MTSO, as there is good communication, feedback, etc.  The Medium National is mediocre in regards to communication.   I know.... this should be a  no brainer.... right?   Although with the first company pays for footers and headers, there have been times when there was no work, and no communication from anyone.  Second IC position takes a bit longer to achieve my count with the Ops- I am assuming because of not being paid for footers and headers, on the other hand when I do the ERs, my line count is fantastic.   What would you do?
Thanks for the input everyone! I think
I'll hang in there for a while but keep my eyes open for something else too. I'd love to find a mix of acute and clinic work.

Thanks again!
Thanks for all of the input! sm
I am thinking about working for them, but was just unsure if it would be a smart thing to do or not.  I have heard mostly great things about the company so far.
Thanks all for the input.
I do not have the option to become an employee. I will be working at home as an IC or statutory.

I do not like the idea of having to take out my own taxes, so I probably will go with the statutory.

Thanks to all for your input.

Thanks everyone for your input..nm

My input - sm
I worked for them for a year.  It was a great experience, I left because I hate using a C-phone.  QA was demanding, but not as much as my current position.  Everyone is great to work with.
Thanks for you input.
I didn't want to go to work for someone who does not pay.
Thanks for you input.....sm
Their ad says they $.07 to $.08/line, which if I had seen that initially, I wouldn't have even applied. I'm getting so sick of these companies that want so much experience and then don't pay for it! UGH!!!

Thanks for your input...... sm
Can you tell me which account you're on?
any input on JLG

I see they are advertising on the other board -- any recent info?  Could not find much in the archieves

Thanks for your input...
I read the earlier posts and I had hoped things had changed.  Thanks again for the info.
Any input?
in companies defense? Is this true, do they eliminate extra characters or code? Do they not count headers or footers?
Any input regarding TRX out there?? nm
