Yes, they offer I think 4 weeks at full pay or 8 weeks at half pay. Call the office
and talk to them about it. You wont lose your job. They aren't like that.
you must be fairly new
because if you had been there since Aug you would have mentioned how they lied about giving us a quality incentive and then failed to give it. They hire new people to train them way before they bring on accounts and you end up not having work and then getting bombarded because they put the new people on your accounts to train. There is definitely better out there. I know, I just found better believe me. Spend some time there and you will see what I mean. Yes they do leave you alone but they also use you with no remorse. The reason why they haven't hassled you about not making your line count is because they know they are taking your work away from you and using it to train new people and they lost most of their QA people and supervisors a few months ago. There isn't anyone out there to keep track of your lines, but that too will change and you will get a very nasty warning if you have a problem in that area. If you read the Nov. newsletter there was a warning about how MTs who don't make their lines only force hospitals to give their jobs to the overseas MTs and to bear that in mind if you don't work your hours or make your lines... Its not hard to put 2 and 2 together. Its a sad place and it hasn't changed in almost 5 years.
Fairly new also and
last week was the first time I hit 35 hours. I am experiencing everything that you are. I think they are overstaffed.
that's probably not what it is then, cause I'm fairly new and
only part-time. And if nobody else got anything, then it's probably something else. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually. Sorry to get everybody excited for nothing. I hope it's not a mistake on my bank's part. I'll do some detective work and find out who's trying to give me money.
I'm fairly new to MDI - but I was just

wondering - what's the QA like after you get through probation?

I'm still in the training/probation period.  Do they tell you at the end if they're keeping you or not?  If they keep you, how close of contact do they keep with you after that?

Just curious.

Should be fairly soon....
I believe they are quite busy right now because there are a ton of new accounts and we are busy busy!!! They are really good about being thorough however and I would think you will hear from them soon. I love it there, for what it is worth... If anyone else is going to apply and needs a referral, let me know... Jolena
I'm still fairly new, but nothing has ever been
said to me about not making line count.  I can't see how they can fire you when you don't have the work to make your lines.  If you aren't making line count and there is enough work then yes you may be terminated, though they will work with you to try to improve before that happens.
They also seem fairly flexible. sm
I was quite impressed with what they had to say and they are the best offer I've had since I started looking around 3 months ago.

Thanks again.
It is fairly easy to use
I have been using MP Count for a while now and I believe that MP Tools will be just as easy to use. Also, if you have any issues or questions, Vann Joe is always readily available to help you. (He is the person who developed the software and I believe that Emmaus is his company). Anyway, do not be afraid of throwing your $ away, because I know from experience that Vann Joe will be able to help if you have any questions regarding the new product.
I have to agree. Considering TT is a fairly
new company (est. 2001), the benefit package they offer current employees is quite good when compared to other longer established companies. I'm sure that as the company continues to grow and prosper, benefits will increase for the MTs (as has been the case in the past). I always feel greatly appreciated for my efforts.
If you just did this fairly recently..
Please be patient. Management is currently moving into a new office and it could be disrupting the phones/e-mails. I would give it a few more days. I work for them typing radiology and absolutely love it!
I'm fairly new and trying to get any information
is like pulling teeth.   If that is the only problem it could be worse, but it is very frustrating.
I'm fairly new to KS, but I know they are adding
2 new accounts by February, so there should be lots of work.   The account I am on is fairly new and still working out all the kinks, but right now there is a lot of work available on it too, so you might want to talk to your lead or Lee and ask for more work.
Alltype, is this a fairly good
company?
Test was really fairly easy. (sm)
I expected there to be some really difficult accents, but they weren't.

Good luck.
Ahh, "I thought" I had seen that name fairly recent.
The MTStars should not allow further job ad posting without a currrent location addres. We do sent out pretty personal ID info, (signed contract info), name, address, phone, SS#, BD, voided check for direct deposit, Driver Lic etc. That is scary. Sorry they did this to you.

mndscriberz@longlines.com

There is quite a bit of fairly recent discussion (sm)
try going to the search box farther up on the page, just make sure the MTStars radio button is marked (not Google, type JLG in the box. (for some reason the other search thing never works for me either)
Any fairly recent Med-Scribe information?

I don't see anything more recent than 6/05 in the archives.  I think this one is in Floriday, but don't know for sure.  Web site sounds great.

That seems pretty low to me, esp. for your exp and it's IC., even though Psych is fairly simple.
I guess it would work for some; everyone has different needs. I sure wouldn't take it.

But if you decide to, I wish you happiness in your new job.
Platform is fairly easy to learn, pay is

low/average, trainers/supervisor are helpful (at least the ones I've dealt with have been), bennies 35+ weeks.

I would not work there. I did and found out they were not paying me fairly. sm
They are not a good company to work for.
Fairly tales don't have to make sense. nm

Webmedx pays fairly well, not flexible, though.
They used to hire with a 12-hour window, but I have heard they don't do that anymore, just a straight 8 schedule. Good luck.
Is it fairly commonplace to have an acute care account that is 95%
or greater ESL dictators? This is the first place I've worked out of school and I would estimate the ratio of ESL to English dictators to be 95% to 5%. I understand you cannot get away from ESLs, especially in acute care, but is this ratio commonplace?

Since I'm new, I have nothing to compare it to. Thanks for your input.
Excellent benefits at TT. I have PPO coverage with a fairly low deductible
and pay $42 per pay period. The coverage is with First Health and they do offer coverage in all states. Good prescription drug coverage also ($10 copay). Hope this helps.
I have worked there before. The owner did seem fairly nice and pleasant. However, SM
unless things have changed, the company is just very, very disorganized.  Very heavy offshoring which I didn't like once I found out.  I thought it WA fairly low pay.  All in all, not the worst place to work but perhaps you could do better.  I was paid on time, however, and once there was about a $20-something error in my check for some reason (I don't remember why), and they cut me an additional check and immediately sent it to me which I thought was very nice.
Question. Have you ever started a job and they find you can do ESLs fairly well and you get all the
hard work and no easy work after awhile.  Is this the way it goes and where does the easy work go.  To the newbies I guess.
Is OSI's the cost family coverage fairly reasonable or sky-high? nm
xx
WEBMEDX - I found fairly favorable things about them in the archives..does anyone
know if they still pay by minutes of transcription rather than per line? I saw that in one past post. Would love to hear from anyone either via e-mail or post here if you work for them and are still happy? Thanks.
I thought the written was fairly easy. The typing test (sm)
was difficult for me because the specialties I was tested on were different than what I'd been working on, plus new docs that I wasn't dialed-in to, yet. Also, since the test is on a temporary platform (Express Scribe) I couldn't slow it down, and one doc was pretty fast. STILL, because of that fact I was allowed to take my time, so I looked up every term I wasn't 100% familiar with, and proofread several times. The hospital I was testing on was a state-of-the-art teaching hospital, so that meant lots of new drugs & procedures; thank goodness for the Internet! Although we are paid on production, QUALITY is the most important thing. I do a lot more proofreading than I did at my previous job, and as a result I often work longer hours to make my line count, but I can break up my day any way I need to, so I'm not chained to my desk. As a result I feel a lot more relaxed than I used to, and my blood pressure has gone down, as well.
Fairly flexible but they do like a schedule. Insurance is good. Benefits are good in my opinion.

For the past week, work has been a little slower but I think that is common in every company..some days busy and other not.

Also a few weeks for me sm
The real problem has not been getting used to DQS, but the fact that so many transcriptionists are doing the accounts, I may have to type from 5 or 6 different hospitals to get my lines in each day. The switching has slowed me down much more than the DQS itself.
It took 2 weeks to get an ID, but they kept following up sm
with me until it came in. They told me this upfront, so it was not a surprise. I was working out my notice at another company during that time, so it was a smooth transition for me. If you do not get something you need, call the office. They have always responded well for me and taken care of things quickly.
2 weeks' for nothing
Its hard to believe that when in the last few months we have been barely having work and we are not compensated in any way whatsoever. Just like its not your fault that the account you are to work on its not our fault that we are running out of work. I say lets give the loyal employees who keep sticking with TT through this very dry drought some kind of compensation if for nothing else than for sticking around.
Pay is ever 2 weeks
Not twice a month like most companies, doesn't seem like much of a difference but it's at least 2 more pay checks a year. Payperiods end on a Sunday and the check is in the bank the next Saturday.
i got one a few weeks ago
I got one a few weeks ago. I just told her that I had a position and only wanted radiology right now. I have also as someone else replied gotten a postcard before, I believe last year or the year before.
2 weeks

when you put in a 2 week notice, do most of the MTOS just let you go right then.......or do they let you finish out your 2 weeks?  Just curious.

It took me about three weeks,
but was well worth the wait, I love working at Keystrokes!   They treat their employees like human beings and not just a number.  I never run out of work either
2 weeks
Usually they let you finish your out your 2 weeks.

If you don't give 2 weeks...most times they mark your termination papers as not to rehire.

Hope this helps
Every 2 weeks. nm

Every 2 weeks.
Works out better than twice a month.
I have only been there about 6 weeks and
there were several days where others were complaining they had multiple accounts and out of work on all of them.  Judging my the backlog reports it looks like work has picked up considerably.  They are fixing to go live with 2 more accounts so there should be plenty of work.  They don't pay for downtime though.   It seems there are always accounts that have been approved for OT though, so I guess if you want to have several backups the work is there.   So far I don't have a backup account and I'm staying busy now and even able to work OT.
They pay every two weeks. Sm...
and you will get your paycheck on a regular schedule via direct deposit.
I'm about to take off 2 weeks plus
and I feel guilty about it. I'm both an employee for one company and an IC for another. I actually feel worse about taking off the time as an IC because my company is so good about giving me the exact amount of minutes I've committed to each day, and I know it's a hardship when an IC is gone for that long. This was scheduled and they were notified well in advance, and I probably won't take off any other time until the next vacation which I'm sure will be months if not more than a year down the road. Still, I feel guilty leaving my company in the lurch.
Every 2 weeks. nm

I don't think in the last few weeks or so...

A few weeks ago most of you were saying SM
that this idea wouldn't fly and that you still wouldn't seek the credential.  Am I hearing some concern now?????
A little. I did some QA for about 2 weeks for
my 1-woman MTSO when she was trying to help out another MT on a very temporary basis.  I never would have done it otherwise and wasn't happy about it.  Anyway, the files were from Pakistan and they were atrocious.  It took me twice as long to edit them as it would have taken to just transcribe them myself in the first place because I had to listen to the whole file and not just fix glaring errors, but rewrite entire sections that were in terrible, broken English and/or they had gotten the entire phrase incorrect, changing its meaning.  It was very frustrating time-consuming work and I told her I would never do it again, not only because the quality was horrific, but because I didn't want to participate in any type of offshoring, even for a friend.
It took me a couple of weeks...
had to get all those shortcuts in but once you get used to it, it is okay.  I always keep track of how many reports I do and I don't look at line count until I do so many.  I can get my required line count in 6 hours or less and when I first started it was a lot longer than that.  So, it does get better.
Go for it!! I started 3 weeks ago. (sm)
They have a super training team. You get an immediate reply when you send an email to ANYONE at Medware. They are a great bunch of people and very helpful. Bonnie (recruiter) has always been there for me and I am on a team with a great Team Leader and Lead Transcriptionist.

I am on the Merit side and love it. It is an excellent program and soooo MT friendly!!
2 weeks notice?

I am considering leaving MQ.  As an IC, if I give two weeks' notice will they let me work out the two weeks, or will they just have me quit immediately?   I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience with this.  I am looking at starting with another company.  I am perfectly willing to give two weeks' notice, but at the same time I don't want them to just dump me immediately and not have any work until I start with the new company.

Did I say that clearly??
