I wonder if they hire US MTs on new accounts and then get rid of them and send the work to India

They send a majority of the Escription accounts to India. There are a few of the hospitals that said
they could not send their work there but I suspect they do anything. In any event, yes, a lot of the easier work goes to India and they are proud of this affliation, not bad it doesn't pay my bills. Then, they wonder why we are so angry about India taking our jobs.

This is all part of the cost-saving plan..first, send your American MTs work to India so we sit here
with nothing and then manipulate the way the lines are counted. Sounds like cost cutting at our expense to me.

Apparently, they have contracted with India to work some accounts as they are getting paid less on
these accounts. Obviously, labor is cheaper in India. So, they have to send the work where they can afford to. I know I'm done with them. Pretty soon, there will be no jobs left because these hospitals apparently want cheap labor. You get what you pay for is all I am saying.
Supposedly if you send anything to India you can't put an ad up for an MT BUT sm
Alltype sends everything after 8 p.m. EST to India to be done overnight and THEY are allowed to have an ad up here.
Cornerstone in NJ, Zylomed, Transcend, TransTech, EFD are those that come immediately to mind, but that is just a couple compared to the fact that I know others would never send to India.

Same reason CardioScribes is allowed. They are based in India, but hire sm
American MTs, probably as beards to fool the clients. The owner has a house in Kentucky, so they call it a Kentucky-based company. The work is sent to India, the techs allocate the work to the MTs, who send it BACK to India, where the techs cut and paste the work onto the platform the docs use, then send the work in. There is NO company in Kentucky! I would ask them to send a picture of these Kentucky headquarters.

Much was revealed on the conference call too.
They hire in preparation for new accounts, those new MTs start getting (sm)
up to speed and they are sharing our work until the new accounts come on. Yes, it may get a little lighter because of this, but when their new accounts come on they scoot over and we have the option of another backup account in our pools if we need it. It is called growing and team work. So far any time I have had to flex my schedule it has worked just fine and they have certainly been great about flexing with me when emergency things pop up. These are good people and they want us all to make money and help maintain a good company, they don't want us low on work. Work with them and they will work with you.

around 15 more MTs for then? Why would they post the welcome to new employees for July and August? Yes, perhaps they were hired before we lost that account and were anticipating a new one, but get real. Some of those employees could have been with the company a long time. I think they should reduce the availability of work to the newcomers and provide to those who have been building this company all along.

Me too. As soon as there is a little extra work they hire and hire and then noone has any. This
goes on all the time. I get sick to death of it. I think having 2 part time jobs is better so you have 2 jobs to count on.
Yes they do send work overseas and do not hide this fact. There is plenty of work and they do pay
well. Overall, I like having work as I have been at places where you had to fight to keep busy so this works for me. 
There is NO work at Transtech. Maybe they just choose special people to send work to

but I was just working part-time, and this was about a year ago, so things could have changed. Isabelle and everyone seem so caring, it is hard to believe that they would consistently have MTs without work, but that seems to be a curse of the industry lately.

Batch receive/send work?
Is there any company out there where you can download work in batches and send back transcribed reports in batches? I can only get dialup and it is too slow to do 1-3 jobs at a time. 30+ years experience, big 4 and Radiology, Medical and Radiation Oncology. I am currently employed in hospital radiology department but want to go back home. Hate this winter driving!!!

I really wonder how much cheaper it is to send work overseas. When you
think about it, IC here gets about 4 cpl for VR and about 8 or 9 for straight typing. Overseas they have to go through a middle man or whoever owns the services and you cant tell me they arent getting a decent cut of the cpl and paying 3 cpl or so to their people. Just my thoughts. I bet the cost is very close anymore to what we earn. I see Delta is bringing its reservation call service back here from India because of all the complaints from US customers. I would expect it is the benefits here for employees that causes a problem costwise for MTs.

Philippines you would not be allowed to work. Americans cannot get jobs in the Philippines because they are saving them all for the Filipinos - don't know if we'd want them anyway but that is beside the point. Doesn't seem fair, does it, that they can take our work away from us and we get nothing in return.
