not sure why some are and some are not. Hmmm...maybe those running out are not staying signed in?

night work

I realize you're only talking about evening into early morning hours here, but there are some things you may want to consider:

If you're not used to staying up late, at first you may find it easier to fall asleep as soon as you get home because you'll be exhausted.  But once your body becomes used to this schedule, I would count on 1-2 hours of unwind time before you fall asleep after getting home.  Been there; done it.  Then add 7 to 8 hours of good, sound rest before your daughter needs you.

Breaking up your sleep pattern will not be good in the long run because it will take its toll on your health.  Naps are okay for short-term use but you really need deep, undisturbed sleep to function well, stay healthy, and not be irritable all day.  This advice comes from my college Psych class and personal experience over many years.  And as I'm sure you know, a special needs child takes extra care and that in itself draws on your mental and physical resources before you even head off to work.

If you're someone who can't stay up past 10 or 11 now, your production is going to suffer while you fight sleep.  It's going to take time to try to re-program your body and using stimulants like coffee or caffeine to get you through your shift takes a futher toll on your health and might make it harder to fall asleep once you get home.

If you think of yourself as a night person you might be able to make this work.  If you're not, I'd think twice.  You can't really change your body's programming.  The best you'd be doing is compromising it.  I really don't think the money is worth the trouble you're headed for if this would not come naturally to you.  If I were you, I'd look for a schedule that works WITH my body's timing so that the whole time is spent producing when I am physically and mentally naturally at my best.  Your increased production during this time could meet or exceed the $17.

Hope this helps some!

No work at night either. sm
The only time my account has work, if I'm lucky, is Friday, Saturday and maybe Sunday and usually during the day.  By the night time on those days the work is usually gone.  On Monday it is usually gone.  I took another part time job back in March and I'm glad I did.
I pulled eve/night so that I could get work...sm
NADA NADA. Left after my 2-week training.
They probably work night shift to get 10/5.
From what I was told, everyone is given the same rate regardless of whether you have 2 years' experience or 20.
Run out of work every single night.

Can hub's work safely if your daughter is up at night,
s
None, unless you work both weekend days on the night shift. nm

I work 2nd shift, and I ran out last night -- never has happened on a Sunday. nm

Big time..They usually have the Indians work at night and weekends. It can be frustrating to log in
and have their not be a lot of work on the account your on. The only Escription account that has extra work is the one in which the hospital had them agreed NOT to send their transcription to India. Otherwise, we have to share our work with our partners as they call them.
Worked there once. Not much work then either.
//
ITA. I work for WMX, never worked for
Transolutions, but if you read the archives not much good said about Transolutions.
Anyone work or have ever worked for...sm
Allstate Transcription?  Just curious as to different experiences.
I don't work for MDI, but I have worked as an IC. SM
Let me try to explain this as best I can. As an IC, you work when you want. That works well, except the company you work for needs the work done now; so they may tend to over-hire and the other issue being an IC, is that work tends to dry up over the summer and over holidays. That's a fact of life.

Many MT's who work as IC's, have more than one job.

Honestly, I have nothing to do with MDI and I work as an employee, because I need benefits and I need work.

Please look at all your options.
Wow! Is there always work? I wish I worked
Frustrating to have work controlled the way it is ESL or not. Never know what kind of low money or good money my day will bring, day or night, weekend or not. Care to share your job source without giving it totally away???
I don't work for TT, have never worked for TT.
So I don't know if the company I work for is necessarily better, but I love it. And, yes, there is loads of work and has been for the year that I have been employed there.
If you worked for a co. that did work for web, sm
how would you know what the web employee work situation was?  That wouldn't be any of your business and I don't think the company is calling you to tell you they're giving you work while I am out of work.
If you work or have worked
for OSi specifically on ExText would love some feedback on the way they keep line counts and getting paid.   you can PM or EM me if you would like
I worked for them, they are okay to work for. nm
xx
day and night
Overall transform is good. I'd say stay away from accounts with Lisa P as manager. She is moody and flies off a lot. Or should I just say unpredictable.

Transform is good as they are pretty flexible on hours and the platform is pretty decent to work on.
Try a night out and look for a man.

and you might make some cashews along with those peanuts.  They are also delicious covered in chocolate, but that may require you get a few more lines in.

Hey, don't be bitter, reconsider!  Some of us have learned a lot of from this board.

Chillax!  Life is waaaaay too short!

P/S:  Bubble baths and a glass of wine can also cure this kind of demeanor....  Try it some time.  You might like it....

Nothing since last night in the ER.
Must be no one has gone to the ER because that is what my account is.
Its only you - last night I
I hate to have to start looking for another job, but things just keep getting a little worse all the time on my accounts.
I worked on that account for a while and want to work on it again. nm

Do you work on TWS3.8? I have worked SM
for Spheris for several years. My macroes were imported, so that was nice, but from what I can tell, they use Shorthand. Several MT companies have been bought out and they may have used different software programs.
Anyone worked/work for Beyond Words?

I searched multiple boards and have come up empty. Any information would be helpful.

Thanks,
Kim

I only worked for them a month and had not enough work.....sm
I sat around more waiting for something (work was pooled) than actually transcribing...Look elsewhere! There are way better companies out there.
I work for them and worked for another company...sm
before them starting with them and was able to start with them at a later date (about a month after being contacted by them). It takes about a week or 2 to get the equipment so that you can set it up for the appointment for technical setup/support and training anyway. I've been with them now for 10 months and absolutely love it. If they contacted you for employment, then you definitely did pass their test. Good luck and welcome aboard!
When I worked there, they were always running out of work....
I don't know if that is still the case but was a major problem for me...
Anyone work or worked for Acusis? sm
Just wondering how they are as employer? Plenty of work? Productivity of platform, pay average or low?  Thanks in advance.
Anyone work/worked for LMT Trans? They....
are in hot pursuit for radiology and psychiatry, she has called twice, but I am dealing with others, too, and I am frazzled.  Just wanted to know any particulars about the company, nice to work for, any horror stories, etc???  Thank you all very kindly!
I work for FN but worked for MDI-MD for a few weeks...Go with FN! sm
I agree with the other poster. Futurenet is great! They are very respectable. A lot of working is going to SR now though. That is the only downfall I have for them. But they work with you on everything! If they offered benefits, which they don't, I don't think anyone could beat them whatsoever. Pay is ontime EVERY time! Excellent staff! I have been there for a little over 2 years and have thought about going other places ONLY for benefit purposes but I just can't! They are too good to leave! I will be with them as long as they will allow me to. Couldn't picture myself working for anyone else!
Anyone worked/work for Zylomed? nm
nm
I have worked at MQ for about 9 years and have never run out of work. sm
I don't think that is the norm for most to run out of work at MQ.
I do not work for KS but have worked for enough companies to know that sm
you are on your own for training after a brief training for the most part but that if you ask questions, you will get answers. I would prefer that, with a good manual, than sitting in a few 8-hour days of training, which has happened at 2 companies. I learn fast and get bored with long training. Different strokes for different folks :)
Because I worked for MQ and didn't have work
x
I still have never run out of work the entire 1.5 yrs I have worked sm
there (with the exception of the holidays), and every single time I have asked to be put on another (additional) account, they have happily done so.
Um, who said I worked for SS? I work for no service.

I've gotten out of the MT service ghetto.  I work for a hospital.  And guess what...

There are rude people here too ----> GASP!

Maybe I should quit my $18 an hour, 800 line minimum requirement with 0.06 cpl incentive for anything over 1000 lines a day, awesome health and dental benefits, work at home job because I shouldn't have to deal with rude people, should I?

I worked for KS and though I didn't work on the
account I experienced the same situation with them.  It doesn't matter what the account was.
Has anyone worked for DocuMed, and how are they to work for?
I tested for an orthopedic account.  Just wondered if they are honest, pay on time, etc.
more $ for night and weekends
0.005 per line from 6 pm to 11 pm. from 11 pm to 6 am 0.01 per line. How the heck can we keep track of this stuff? More time will be spent calculating the time sheet than earning it!!
Thank you very much! :) Have a great night. NM
s
I have been waiting all night for - sm
someone to say that. I feel better already!
How they sleep at night
They sleep just like the guys over at MQ sleep. More and more this business is getting down and dirty. I feel for you all.
How they sleep at night
MQ and Heartland are both scum, cut from the same greedy cloth.
Run screaming into the night!
I worked there for 11 years. The last few years have been a gradual decline, but big changes came on 1/1/06. My experience since then: Felt like a 6 year old who needed to be watched every minute. I was PT and could not take time off without making it up. So that's not really time off, is it? The whole place was confused about personnel policies. Never got straight answers. What a mess! I left and found a gem of a company and am very happy. There are MUCH better companies out there.
Nowhere does it say anything about taking our night
differential (not that I can find, anyway).  They took one bonus and replaced it one other and another on the way.  Rarely do I run out of work. They could have cut our pay even more to get us on a more even keel with the other nationals that only pay 50%.  At least that didn't happen yet.  It's not a bad place to work.  I have always been paid on time, have a good PS and WFC, accrue PTO even though I'm only part time (30 hours per week).
Difference is night and day
I love Keystrokes! No etime to fill out, ever! Great leads, great office support staff. Pay rate was about the same or slightly above what I made at MQ. I am happy I made the switch.
How can they sleep at night?
x
Think I tested the next night. Thanks much. nm
//
l can vouch. Last night many saying OT sm
and had 0 jobs available.  Don't just look at the notice that the account is on OT.
I think it's 0.025 each for evening, night
