Is a 55-char line without spaces good?

Does anyone know how a 55-character line WITHOUT spaces would compare to a 65-character line WITH spaces?  Which one is better?

Is 8 cpl on 65 char with spaces, header, footer good rate for IC work?
Want to accept position. Wondering if that's a good rate today. THank you
Yes, that's including headings. I use Open Office which gives me a char count.
What it doesn't include is anything in the ADT screen, just what we type in the report.
I get 8.5 cpl including spaces, but
They pay 0.05 for weekends and another 0.05 for over 16,000 lines per pay period. If you keep your 11,000 lines per pay period you get almost 4 hours of PTO per pay period, which is about 10 days a year. No holiday pay, but usually offer a bonus if you work one. $40.00 internet reimbursement a month. The insurance costs me just under 100.00 a pay period for myself only, no family, but I think that depends on where you live.

Can't think of anything else, but they are good to work for...kind and honest.

I get 8.5 cpl including spaces, plus
for over 16,000 per pay period, which is relatively easy to get. I've got a great account though. I know some places may pay more, but we get what we are promised, on time, plus PTO and insurance if you need it, not free of course, but pretty resonable. An IC can make more per line, but end up losing becuase of the additional SS taxes and absolutely no benefits. I love TT and thank God every day for my job.
9 cpl including spaces
..
Spaces are about 27% of a 65 char line

55 char line with spaces
Ok guys how does a 55 char line WITH spaces = to a 65 char line.  I was offered 8 for 55 char line with spaces and counts underlines, bolds, hard returns etc.
55 char line with spaces
Is 8cpl for a 55 char line with spaces and double counts for bold, underline, etc a good rate.  Sorry, but i am used to getting paid for a 65 character line.  What does this equal out to?  Does anyone know how to figure it out.  TIA!!
But if they are saying per character are they including spaces?
I'd ask if a space = a character.  ;)
8.5 cents per 70 char/line with spaces
Does anyone get paid like this?  Is this good?
The rate was 9.75 cents, 65 char. without spaces. No thanx! nm

The average 65-char line has more than 10 spaces.
Your math is flawed.
Transcribing = 9 cpl 65 characters including spaces.
Good company, great people. Give them a try.
I read in archives that pay is 65 char wo spaces, is that true?
dd
Not true. They pay based on a 65-char line with spaces.
nm
PS - pay based on 65-char line, SPACES INCLUDED. SM
Also paid for weekend work, 2nd and 3rd shift differential. Bonus plan based on production.
About 5 years ago was offered 10 cpl including spaces, 65 characters. sm
Don't know about now. That was doing all acute care, mainly op reports with full benefit package.

I declined and have my own accounts, but it was a good offer.

Good luck.
Northeast Transcription says that FT is 32 hrs/1000 lpd, but 70-char.lines with all spaces and

The norm in the 80s was 4 cents per Gross Line, not 65 char with spaces. nm

They use MedRite software, only offered 7-8 cpl on a 70-char. line w/spaces. Supposed to offer

I see they pay on a VBC line. Isn't that a huge paycut from a 65-char. line with spaces? nm

Some good people used to work for MQ including

oh forgot... i think starting was 7 cpl w/spaces for radiology

Seeking company that offers good benefits including insurance.
Ideally, I'd like to find a company that offers medical insurance at a reasonable cost for family (under $500 a month) and a decent line count rate. Anyone have any ideas on this. Thanks.
I am including all insurance deductions including nm

Is 8.5 cpl w/spaces a good rate?
What about 10 without spaces
Spaces between words. No good. sm
Itwouldbeokayifthisishowtheywantyoutotranscribe.  You lose a lot of money not being paid for spaces.
Advance any good 4 radiology?
Pay ok? Lots 'o work? Nice place?
Good Company for Radiology MT?

If anyone is happy at a company doing radiology, I would appreciate if you would share that info (you may e-mail me if you wish).  I am getting burned out on the promises of working in radiology and then running out of work everyday and being told if I want to get my lines/hours I need to do some medical records transcribing.  I have been in radiology 13 years, not a spring chicken anymore and do not want to start from the beginning in another type of transcription.  This has happened with two companies this year and I am getting tired of the deceptive advertising.

Thank you,

Cece

They do not pay for spaces. Other aspects of company seem good. nm

Still need help on figuring what would be a good cpl if paid w/o spaces.
See my first message above. Thanks
Any info good or bad in regards to Webmedx radiology

Webmedx radiology MTs?? How are they to work for and good pay?

TIA....

Is Amphion a good company 4 radiology?
From what I've read they seem to have their act together, but what about radiology? Do they pay well? By report? Too many ESL's? Any info appreciated about this company in general...
Know of any good companies hiring PT Radiology? (nm)

Is 14 cents a line for radiology good?
I need some advice on this job offer as an IC for a hospital.  They want to pay me 14 cents a line.  I would like to know is that good?
I thought that cpl seems a little too good. Without spaces would make sense. Not
sure how much you really make per line without spaces.
Radiology pay question..What's a good rate per report for

Radiology reports??  $1.20??  Am considering job offer.

Anyone know of a really good online Radiology word/phrase

resource site?  TIA.

Paid for spaces depends on the account. Good company. nm
x
This is not true. I have been there a month and get a good line rate and paid for spaces. ??? nm
nm
Keystrokes has the best radiology accounts IMO. I have plenty of work and radiology only. nm
I make a good living and rarely run out of work. When I do, it is for a few minutes at a time and usually because the rads have not started early enough. No other complaints!
I think most places pay for spaces. I work for TransTech and they pay for both spaces
as well as punctuation. I would never work for an MTSO that doesn't.
by char

Stop. Redlight. Too complicated to explain here, but problems with that method are major reason things are now calculated by line in 99.97% cases. There has to be a reason a co. would go this route. Tread lightly. Think wisely. If it seem to be too good to be true it is.

Keystrokes for radiology. They are the biggest for radiology out of all of the companies out there.
I have been there 2 years and have been very happy. I make a lot more money than when I worked for Edix/Spheris.
Very little PTO and it is to be used for everything, including

sick days, vacation days, holidays -- really stinks !

Low pay, offered 0.065/65-char and this was for IC. No thank you! nm
x
They are IC only, starts at about 0.06/65-char; too low for me! nm
x
Well, I got started at .08 for 55-char
line. My checks are really good and that's all I care about! Like I said, my checks are more every 2 weeks that they were from any other company I worked for.
No it is everything including interventional
mammos, CTs, MRIs, PETs, etc. The docs are very good and the system is very easy -IDX. Guess I should just stay where I'm at.
