Is this consistent 3000 lines per day

Posted By: or off and on? on 2007-08-13

I have hit 3200 lines on a secondary ER account, but not on a consistent basis because the work ran out.  This was also working overtime on a VERY easy account with very good normals.  It is my understanding that this account no longer exists.

3000 lines at 3 cpl $90

First off, you need to get 3000 lines worth of work to make the money.  IF you manage to get 3000 lines worth of work to make 90 bucks per day, then you've had a good day.  Most do not have good days.  IF you can make 3000 lines within the 8 hours without compromising quality that's okay too, but IF you have to run audio at full speed and you’re listening to a chipmunk on speed, then that's not good for the doctor, the patient, or for you as a transcriptionist.

I almost forgot, Uncle Sam needs his cut of that 90 bucks and depending what state you live in.........he has a health appetite and takes a big bite out of it.  The one thing that gets me through the day these days is the joy of retirement within the next year and a half.

I usually average anywhere between 2500-3000 lines per shift
at KS.
Big difference between 2000 and 3000 lines per shift.
nm
I said that I do 1600+ per day. Most days, I am over 2500-3000 lines per day. 1600 is the personal
I do not work overtime except very, very occasionally. I use my Expanders and know my account inside out. It IS possible no matter how many people try to say that it is not. I rarely post here because I see people chopped to pieces when they say they make good money, no matter who they work for. It is as though only the negative voices are heard here.
No one gets 3000 line a day!
No way!
i could do 2500 to 3000 on ER too
You have life in the easy lane... ER docs, the same 10-20 at most day in and day out.. Try basic 4 with antiquated platforms (meditech) and 2000-5000 dictators to try and get a handle on.
3000 each day? Wish I was young again-LOL - good for you!
nm
2500 to 3000 a month is not unreasonable. SM
I do about 2000-2500. It depends on the work type. I like OP notes (if I am fortunate enough to get them). ERs would be nice too, but haven't done those in years. I work for MQ.
I have made $2500-3000 for a national, but....
I have to work seven days a week 12-15 hours a day to do that and end up having no life and no benefits. I am giving this up and going to work for a local hospital. I know that at first I will not make the same, but it is worth it to me to go to work for 8 hours and be done instead of dragging it out up to 15 hours a day and not making that much less. Actually, over 8 hours in a hospital I do make more than working 8 hours at home. It makes me tired and grouchy and my family is tired of me being at home like that. I feel so much pressure every day trying to make a decent line count and it just takes too long. I want to get a life..
Okay what is great money? $2000-3000 a PP
TIA
And their office in India employs over 3000 MTs.
abba dabba
WAY! The closest I have come is 2700 but I do know a couple of ladies that have hit 3000. nm

Work is consistent
I work at AllType and we are consistently busy and getting new accounts as well.
Consistent work

I know there are a lot of negative posts on here about MQ, but it is the only company I have worked for that I did not have to worry about being out of work. Some call it the *cesspool*, I call it a safety net if my primaries ever get low on work, and I don't have to waste my valuable time calling someone to ask for work because it is automatic if primaries are low. They also pay on time everytime and have been very flexible with my schedule, I prefer a split shift. Pay could be better, but more than some other places, and always having work available is the most important for me as being out of work would devastate me financially. As a matter of fact, it was the guarantee of always having work that made me switch to them as the national I was with previous was running out of work on my primaries too often and I had to spend too much time begging for other work. I am very happy at MQ after experiencing working for some other nationals, TT and KS specifically were fairly consistent about being out of work in my experience. I also really like the DocQScribe platform at MQ and the fact that they supply all the equipment; I no longer have to worry about what would happen if somehting went wrong with my personal computer and I could not work or afford to get it fixed or replace it. I have never had a problem with communication, my PS is great at getting back to me promptly.

The people complaining about the *cesspool*  at MQ on here are the same ones who will complain about being out of work when in actuality work is available, they just refuse to do unfamiliar accounts, thus affecting their own paycheck, never happy. Personally, I don't have enough extra money to be that picky about work and I am relieved to find a company who can consistently supply me with work. Good luck in whatever you decide and I hope you find the right fit!

This must be a consistent problem

As an IC you don't have to give notice if you are leaving and Tonya should know this.  I stayed through two pay cycles and that was ENOUGH.  You have to beg and continually ask to get paid so your situation is not unique.

I think a big part of the problem is it comes from India.  I left right after we received a notice that the line count function did not work and that our lines are counted manually.  Why was the line count such a big secret?

A growing company is one thing but pay is another.  Pay should not be contingent on growing

At least one thing with SS is consistent . . .
You can always count on this clown to show up being rude and obnoxious!  Seems like upper management has a lot of time on their hands, doesn't it?  Seems a little odd, they're the ones ALWAYS running ads looking for MTs and most of us have our choice of jobs when we start looking.  What's wrong with that picture?
Is there consistent work at MDI-Fl, Precyse, or
nm
Stay with the one that has the most consistent work available. nm
x
Exactly! MTSO needs a consistent IC that she can count on. Take off now and then but you

Consistent work with All-Type NJ?
Anyone work for All-Type in New Jersey? Am considering them and wonder if their work flow is consistent or are there lots of dry spells? Any other information would ge helpful. Thx.
Fast Chart is Consistent
I have been with Fast Chart for about 10 months. You're right. You do start at the bottom, but rapidly move up. They do pay for all headers and footers. There people are great and completly honest.
Does Focus have a consistent work?
I've been hearing good things about Focus and just took their online test. Is it true they have sufficient work to keep you busy and will give you one or two accounts and not a jumble of different accounts?
I meant a consistent workload.
Sorry, it's been a long night at the computer. I should have caught that.
Are there any companies with consistent workload?

No matter how many accounts I get, there never seems to be enough work and now, with the holidays almost here, all of my accounts are picked bone dry.  Bah humbug.

Goodluck - consistent work? not a chance. nm
nm
The download speed is not consistent, can be as slow as

dial-up at times.  I had it for a year so I know.   Satellite is also not secure, so if company is 100% compliant with HIPAA satellite would not be allowed.

I had lots of problems with my satellite, though I was never without for more than a day.  Customer service was the absolute pits.  They have since updated some of their equipment that is suppposed to eliminate some of the issues.

You sold yourself short then. There ARE good compoanies out there with consistent work. sm
I work for one that is praised on this board and attacked on this board, depending on which way the wind is blowing.

The money and consistency are there for those who work hard.

My apologies for lumping you in with others.
It's been pretty consistent for me, but I work for two companies and type several doctors
and even with that, sometimes it gets slow, and then when it picks up, it is really hectic.  It's so hard with this type of work to get it just right :)
I AGREE COMPLETELY! I'd rather be paid a consistent, respectable hourly rate
nm
1800 lines is easily achieved. I average 300-340 lines per hour. nm
x
10 lines per minute = 1500 lines for 150 minutes - average. nm
x
I average 1200-1400 lines per day with a national, and am only getting around 600-800 lines per day.
It's been this way since the day before Thanksgiving. I've been doing this for almost 30 years now, and more often than from Thanksgiving until the new year is the slowest time of the year. I have some months where I am swamped with up to 2000 lines per day. I stash that little extra money, and take advantage of a handful of extremely slow days this time of the year to actually cook dinner, decorate for Christmas, or do Christmas shopping. I actually anticipate this slow time every year and have grown to enjoy the breathing time. Any time I have attempted to pick up extra work with another company to supplement these slow times, the minute I get adjusted to the new accounts, etc. I have no time to finish all of my work because my full time job with national gets slammed again. Hang in there if you can, and hopefully your work will pick up significantly around New Years.
They work with you to make sure you get the lines required or the amount of lines you want...
I have never had a problem getting more work
Minimum lines for FT used to be 60,000 keystrokes a day, about 925 lines. Pay was good. Just not a
s
Yes it is possible to double your lines. I cant type 460 lines an hour but I can get those with VR
x
Regular lines, not weighted lines
was what I got paid for....
12K lines payperiod is 6K lines a week.
nm
0.8 x 1000 lines = $80.00 - 0.8 x 1500 lines = $120.

It's not 1600 lines -- it's 16,000 lines...and
I've got my contract right here and have already gotten 2 checks and YES, I am getting 9.5 cpl base rate.

I don't know what other people are getting. Don't really care. I work for MY paycheck. Gosh.
Why would they "fix" lines? The more lines you
transcribe, the more you make, the more you make, the more you make. It wouldn't profit any company to put a lid on line counts.
lines
My lines have dropped too and I thought it was because I was slacking off or something - my checks have been 300 dollars less for the past 3 pay periods....hmmmmm
300+ lines?
can you email me - I want to know HOW you do it? tanks! myfingershurt63@yahoo.com
Like I said--how many lines do you do?
A whole lot of people don't like it--a whole lot more than do.  How many lines are you able to do?  Care to share since you love Transcend so much.  Is it more than 400 lines an hour typing and more than 600 lines an hour editing?  If not, you can't understand my situation at all.
How do you get 1-1/2 lines?
On my account, I never get that, the most I'm offered is 0.05 a line extra.
lines..
they are saying 250 because I want $15 per hour, but honestly..I'm having a hard time keeping up.....I can do the 250, but it would take time to get used to the dictators and get all templates/abbreviations on the system. I was offered a job with Medquist for 8 cpl, 8.5 if you go over a certain number of lines.... however, they get such bad press I haven't sent in thep paperwork and was thinking of only trying them part time to start.....anyone with any advice? TIA
8 cpl for 11,000 lines a pay, 8.5 for 14,000 lines and over. nm
x
hrs/v/lines
From what I hear it all depends on the MQ office you work out of. I understand Amherst has a fit if your off by 15 minutes.
UGH, I think it should be either or lines or hours, not both. They just want to get the max out of us!!!
3 lines
I have 3 lines. My long distance is through AT&T from a long time ago. It is unlimited and it covers all three lines.
Yes, I have to say how many lines I will do but
I don't have to work a set schedule.  If you read the post above mine, you will see that the poster says she thinks it's because people just get on 24/7 whenever they feel like it and type and that's why there is no work, and it sounds like she thinks it would be better if we worked within a certain time frame so we could get our work in during those hours.  I don't think that is the problem at all.  I have been with MDI for several years and having access was never a problem before; when I was ready to work there was work.  I think the problem now is that there are just too many people and not enough work to go around.
lines
usually around 5000 lines per pay period.

It depends on the company.
