Can you saying..work going to India.. I knew you could. All we get is the awful stuff. Why dont they
send that garbage to the folks in India to do. They have about as much chance of being able to do it as we do.

All I know is that the Indians are partnered up with Transcend. They are sharing work with our overseas partners as the supervisors call them. What a slap in our face.
I guess Amherst, NY and Ohio but I dont know the 3rd one.

Thank you both. I guess I was just wondering what happens with companies when you dont
get your lines in.  It seems like a lot of places are running the MTs out of work.  I didnt mean Keystrokes had no work I was just wondering what happens like at DSG when you dont get lines.  Do they fire MTs for that reason if there is no work.  I was just curious since you both worked at DSG and I hear other MTs at other companies saying the same thing so what happens in that case.
I guess India got too expensive.

I dont know what that means. I am an SE. I dont sit and wait for work I come back in when it is
there so I never had to deal with Amherst when there was no work because I just stopped working and did other things. My feeling is if this doesnt work there are other jobs out there.
If I cant make QA, dont give me work. Dont dock

Most of the hospital radiologists I type for are pretty good overall. Then you have the ones that NO MATTER WHAT, they are GOD and they will dictate the way they want to. Some will take it into consideration and, maybe the first few days are better. Then right into their old habits again. Therefore, blank here, blank there, long blank down here.
Forget it. We're constantly running out of work now. sm
Some accounts have work, many really slim.
Disorganized. If you aren't the favorite, then forget it. Never enough work
so you can work your schedule.  But if you don't get your line count, you are expected to do whatever it takes to make it.  Keep looking -- there are better companies out there. not to mention you'll get talked about behind your back

I suspect. I believe Indian MTs are specifically trained to do the US work; it's not that they were working for an Indian hospital but didn't have enough to do.
They told me the same.. that they would always have transcriptionists in both countries. sm
Remember the lovely talk not too long ago about the sale of the company, and how even if they did sell, the new company would want to keep MTs and QAs who knew the accounts?

Then all got quiet for so long. We were supposed to hear by December... then February... nothing from Paulik. I knew something was going on. They were too quiet.

Then supervisors started getting extra whiny about every little thing, changing everything, work dropped off.

I can't wait until everybody gets theirs. Wait until they outsource the supervisor and HR jobs.
You all have a point. I forget how this at-home thing works. I used to work in-house at a hospital.
and... we got paid extra for working holidays and even weekends and evenings. I am new to this at-home thing and it's pretty disappointing. I think I'm back to the hospital..

new option is now going to Eastern bloc countries
and Ireland and away from India as the cultural difficulties have led to problems, plus they have great tax incentives.

Hi,

I worked there for few months and realized that its not a good place to work at all. Specially the Owners of the Company is the biggest problem to work there as he is not a professional at all. They are loosing clients recently and not good to go there

Much good work going to India. Bad work left

I read all of the replies to your question so far, and it is nice to see all the support from your coworkers. All had very thoughtful and well thought out replies. Must be a nice company to work for, and I think you are fortunate to work there.

Why dont you do the work for 6 cpl and keep all the profit for yourself but
I expect you cant do it so you try to hire people for 6 cpl that can do it.  I bet you didnt get hundreds of applications this time.

If you think you dont get more of the junk work when it is picked over by VR or ASR you had better
think again. The best attendings will be gone to VR and you will get the leftovers. I have been doing both for a year and I can guarantee you your CEO is full of it. Dont believe a word of it. You will either make less money on ASR or less money on the leftovers. Take you choice.

I do understand the dilemma, but honestly, start looking for a job that does pay during this period.  I know of many companies that unfortunately play games with your pay and I've been watching one do this for five years now and remarkably he is still in business because while he does eventually make good on his promise to pay, he wreaks havoc on those who work for him constantly.  People like this should be shut down, but as long as his contractors keep playing along with him, he will continue. 
I dont think you will make more than that for clinic work.

I make 10 cpl at the Q, but have been there 12 years and was at that rate when my prior company was bought out. 


There are people who make that, but not for clinic work and probably not for just starting at a company.  I have been applying like crazy and the best I came up with was 8 cpl for Basic 4 and 9 cpl for straight OPs.


Thats 15 years experience.

getting new MTs because they quit all the time.

Dont bother. Not enough work to go around. People are quitting.
I guess at this rate, they may be hiring if everyone ends up quitting due to lack of work. They will come on here and state that we should just call the office and you will get put on another account. That is a joke. We have all tried that and you get ignored.

I agree, they are unprofessional and rude. They throw you into a pool that they have overhired for and there is not enough work to go around... then they cry and complain when youre not hitting your production. They set impossible standards.... unless youre a brown-noser, in which case, see those peoples posts as the ones who would say anything positive about DSG. Its like the movie Mean Girls, and the mean girls are running the show there.

To say the work that comes in from India is awful...

... is an understatement. I would pull some of those jobs that had beentranscribed in India and there were some that had entire sections crossed out and retyped because they were wrong (and scary wrong too - wrong medications...). The hospital I used to work for uses them and when I still worked at HealthScribe India was doing this hospitals discharge  summaries. I refuse to use that hospital because I know the transcription will be of very poor quality andI refuse to play games with my health and the health of my loves ones.
