They are training me this morning to work on thier software as an editor. So far, they seem like very nice, friendly people and very helpful.  They seem to be desperate for quality employees.  I will let folks know how I make out as I know alot of people are wary of them and I can understand that.

I work for them.
My LarTech Healthprime review
I have seen some older posts on Lartech Healthprime and I just wanted to give a good update/review on this company as I have 2 years of experience working for them.

Also I just wanted any out-of-work MTs to know that they hired me right out of training (I trained with At-Home Professions) but trust me, they have high standards when it comes to quality and they were patient, gave me a chance and helped me along the way.

My gripes (although this apparently is not LarTech's fault but the hospital account I work for) is that I get paid once a month and sometimes it is later than that, very inconsistent pay :(.

There is only two people I can get a hold of if I have any questions but they don't respond right away which is a downfall since my questions have to do with reports I am currently working on and I don't have time to sit around and lose TAT time waiting for them to get on, all communication is done via Yahoo messenger. They do respond to all E-mails, whether it takes them an hour or a day, they will get back to you.

They also do seem to have a problem with communication, for instance, I have been there for about a year and a half and I was only getting 7 cents standard, 3 cents editing and I asked them for a raise, he came back and said he already gave me a half cent raise and was surprised I didn't get that E-mail.

I know, the pay is super low, but I was out of school for a year looking for a job and nobody would give me a shot but they did and now I have 2 years of experience because of it, it beats the internship I almost chose to do for 6 months right?

Anyways, just wanted to get that info out there for any MT students looking to get their foot in the door, they gave me a chance from a very non-reputable school, why not you!

Anyone have any info on this company? Search the archives but didn't find anything. Thanks in advance!
Update on Laratech Healthprime
Well I finally got the software downloaded, they have Dictaphone Nuance Extext. They have a pretty good set up, but they are still refusing to send me a contract and they pay 3.25 cents a line for editing. First they said I was only to do 5 reports a day until they saw the quality of my work, then the gentleman told me that I no longer needed to do 5 reports a day that I could just work and do as many jobs as I wanted, but still he wont send me a contract and now I have been trying to get them on Yahoo IM since yesterday with no answer and they are both signed on as available. Does anyone have anything positive to say aboutr this company? I mean they are really nice people and very helpful, but something does not seem right.
MediVoxx?
Does anyone have feedback on MediVoxx?
About MediVoxx
Never went with them myself, but from another MT, very nice people to work with, low rates to start, and she was editing voice recognition reports. That's all I know.
Medivoxx

Does anyone have information on this company?  I have an interview tomorrow with them.  I am a new grad, and I really would like to get a position.  Thanks.

Medivoxx
I know there was a posting recently about this company, but I cannot seem to find it now.  The position they have is for a MT/editing position using VR.  I am not too familiar with this, so if any one has info on it I would appreciate it.  One of my concerns is how many lines per day doing editing VR work produces? Another question I have is if anyone else out there does VR work, is it worth it?  Thank you all.
MediVoxx

Does anyone have any new info on MediVoxx?  I recieved an application from them, but I am not sure if I want to do it or not.  Please if anyone has some recent info let me know!  Thank you!

Sincerely,

Nissa

Medivoxx

I applied with them several weeks ago.  They tell me every week that they hope to get more information to be by the end of the week.  Has anyone else had a similar experience or have any information on them.

Thanks

Medivoxx
Yes I have had that experience with them. I bugged them every day and I got put off every day. They take forever. And it is true they do a lot more testing after the initial test. I ended up failing one to the later tests they gave me.
Medivoxx
I've been waiting on them 3 weeks to respond to my application ... haven't even tested yet! Supposedly they're short-staffed - which is really depressing.
Medivoxx
The application requires the applicant to fill in "compensation desired (be specific)".  I was receiving 6.5 cents per line.  The lines were not character driven but rather carriage return determined.  I know I would make a lot less at this rate with a character driven line so I would want to ask higher than that, and  I do know there is usually a different rate for editing.  Can you tell me what the going rates are for each type of transcription, and what I should realistically put here.  Any guidelines would be appreciated.
Medivoxx...sm
Does anyone or has anyone ever worked for Medivoxx?  I was thinking of applying there.  I know I have heard you start out at 3-1/2 cpl at training for VR and then after training it is 5 cpl for VR.  I think that is all they do is VR.  If they paid 5 cpl for VR would it be worth it since it isn't straight transcription?
MediVoxx

Does anybody know about MediVoxx?  Anybody ever worked for them or know somebody who has worked for them?

I am testing with them and I am just wondering how they are to work for.  Is the pay on time?  Is their pay scale fair?

I checked the archives and a lot of people have asked, but there doesn't seem to be anybody who has worked for them that has responded.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Is this Medivoxx? nm

MediVoxx
That sounds exactly like what I am doing right now. I have gone through that whole process. I turned in my 12 dictations yesterday and they went to QA. I kind of thought the same thing, but these notes were dated 08/2003, so they were very old files. If they would have been dated Sept 2009 then I would have been more suspicious.

He said as soon as he heard back from QA that he would send me back an email hopefully with an offer.

So, did you do the last set of dictations? I had 12 total. 8 wav docs for one doctor and 4 wav/4 dss for another one, but the wav/dss files were the same, so it ended up being 12. The samples they sent to me seemed inconsistent. I didn't like that. They also don't follow BOS, which I don't like. I'm still hopeful though.

Any experience with MediVoxx? nm

Info on Medivoxx
I do not currently work there, but I can tell you what I know.

You have to transcribe one dictation and fill out a long application. Then, take two more tests. One is for grammar and the other is spelling and definitions, etc.

After that, you get a phone interview. Then you have to sign agreements and type more files for them, which can take up to two weeks (without pay.)

Then, if you qualify, you are hired as an entry level MT editing voice recognition documents. The pay is 35 cpl for one month or until they feel you are ready.

At that point, you become a one pass MT/editor for VR files, starting at 5 cpl. They do give raises (up to 75 cpl) and bonuses.

I'm in the final process of being hired right now.

Anyone currently working for Medivoxx?

Is anyone currently working for Medivoxx out of Louisville, KY? Thanks!

Any info on Medivoxx

Anyone working for Medivoxx? I checked the archives but there really was not that much info to go on.  I have never done VR so I would like to know about this before accepting a position.  If there is anyone working for them how many lines do you edit in a day?. The pay is low 3.5 to start while trained.  Is this worse than just typing?  I have done straight typing for 5 years. I have lost all my physician accounts to India and then worked for a hospital for only 5 months being laid off due to shortage of work, so I do not want to play around with another company. I want to stay put for a while.

Thanks for all information.

is there ANYONE who works for medivoxx???
I posted a message on the main board about the QA at my company and I just feel like I am going to get canned.  Like I explained in that post, the QA is very controversial.  Some do it this way, some do it that way, and I never get a clear answer on anything.  I also pull up completed reports as samples and will follow it that way, and it still gets marked wrong.  The QA supervisor isn't really any help.  I just feel like they are looking to get rid of people now because their workload is really slowing down.  But ANYWAYS, even though I have 7 months of experience now, I am thinking maybe I should just get a job at a company that is known for hiring newbies such as Medivoxx or Focus Infomatics.  The company I am at now is just making me feel like I am not doing a good job.  So any info on these companies or any others would be appreciated.  Thanks.
Any info on Medivoxx?
Does anyone know anything about this company?
Medivoxx is offshoring

This once wonderful company has been taken over by aliens, and I only wish it was the outer-space kind.  On behalf of those currently being bent over and the clients that are being lied to, do what you do best my friends.  Spread this news like wildfire.

Did anyone do the MediVoxx test?

Did anyone test with this company or know anything about it?

I worked for MediVoxx
I worked for them briefly about 3 years ago.  Although I do not remember the transcription portion of the test to be that long, I do remember that there were so many steps in the process that I never thought I was actually going to start work.  I got done with them rather quickly because their VR software was the worse I have ever seen.  I ended up having to retype the entire reports over.  No way was I going to get paid a low VR rate and have to retype the entire documents. Although things may have changed since then, you may want to keep that in mind.

Post below stated a warning about lartech not paying--be careful with this company if this is true.
Lartech

I have read the post below but I wanted to know if anyone has info on this company that works or worked for them.

Thanks

Lartech...sm

They have an office in India and one in Texas.  I'm working for them now and have been for about a month.  Everyone I have dealt with is very good to work with.  The account I am on is very nice, very few ESL, lots of editing (may be a plus for some) and a small amount of standard transcription.  Pay is decent,  and on time.  They don't have DD, but have said they are looking into it so hopefully they will soon.  They have incentives for when you get over certain line amounts each pay period, and those amounts are not hard to meet either so can pretty much count on the incentives each paycheck (at least that is my experience).

I'm happy there.

Lartech QA
HI:  I have been working for Lartech for over a year now as a QC and I have several MTs working under me who I correspond with on a daily basis and they are all based in US. I simply love working for them-T
Lartech
It is very sad to see people being racist.  I have been working with these people for over a year and wish to continue working with them.  Yes, they are Indians but my experience with them has been much better off than working for many other non-Indian companies and I have never experienced any discrimination against me or any other person for that matter-T
Lartech pay
Pay is inconsistent and has been changed to once a month. It is demeaning and now we have all been messaged that the checks are going to be even MORE late, it's been 5 weeks since my last check.
Lartech
Interested in discussion with someone who works for Lartech now.
Lartech
I use eScription with Lartech.  Would enjoy meeting other ladies who work them as well.
Lartech
Any comments on Lartech????
Try Lartech.

I believe they hire new graduates.  They are very nice and good to work for, pay is always on time, it might be a little low (around 6cpl and 3cpl for editing) but it'd be a good place to start.

If you can get a private IC to mentor you that'd be good too.

I took my first job (3 years ago) with a private IC and she paid me 4cpl for a month then 5 cpl after that.  I stayed with her for 5 months, made decent money and learned a lot.  I was able to go from working for her to a really good, steady job with a nice company.  It's worth it to take a lower line rate if you can get the one on one with a mentor.

Best of luck!

Was it with Lartech?
It may bite me in the backside, true, but I have a small business of my own and, although I do not have employees to pay, I know how tight things can get. Personally, I would get a 90-day loan from the bank to pay the MTs until the payment came in from the client. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt because I see the number of years they have been in business and know that they could not have been in business for any length of time if they were flat out not paying the MTs---which I have found no evidence of.
RE: Lartech
The previous posts I read about Lartech said they do pay on time and it's accurate. I'm in the same boat, waiting for my first check, but this 60-day pay cycle is the client's doing, not Lartech's, so I'm not holding that against them. It is hard to stay motivated, but I really like the account and they have been sincerely appreciative that I'm staying on with them.
Well, Medivoxx's HR people need to be fired
it sounds like. That's CRAZY. No company in my 20 years has made me jump through hoops like that & transcribe that many 'test' documents. You can tell from a couple of reports & maybe a multiple choice questionnaire if the candidate has experience or not - not to mention checking references... I guess I will cross Medivoxx off my list until they learn how the MT hiring/testing process works.
Lartech? Anyone here work for them?

I applied just this morning and got a call this evening.  They offered me a job without testing.  There is a paid trial period where they decide if you can do the work according to what I was told by the recruiter.  The pay is not bad, better than I am currently getting at any rate, and I was assured after the trial period it can/will go up.

I am wondering if anyone has experience with this company.  It seemed a bit odd to me that I would get hired without testing, but I'm new to the industry so maybe it isn't that uncommon (just under a year working as an MT).

Thanks for any opinions or advice!

lartech warning...
NONPAYER ALERT HERE!!
Lartech is in TX but I think is mainly Indian run.
and very much slave labor pay.
Lartech, Transcend...
I also believe Transtech and E-Transcription do but I'm not 100% on that.
Anyone with information on Lartech?
I'm not finding any info on them and they have offered me a QA job.  They say they do not outsource to India, so I'm just trying to confirm this, and that they pay on time.  Thanks for any help!
Lartech--not paying

I've transcribed for 6 years.  I worked Lartech for two months and never saw any pay.  The owner keeps saying he didn't receive his pay.  Now no communication at all about it.  I quit since I can't afford to work for free.  He owes me at least $1000.  Nice people, but no pay.  Do hospitals really not pay?  Any way I can find out?
