Productivity
I work on Bayscribe and do 2000 lines per day routinely, sometimes 2500. I know many MTs who do this on various platforms. I think it has more to do with years of experience than with platform used (although I must admit I loathe DQS). Please don't worry, your productivity will increase over time.
Productivity of MedRite
Anyone experienced with MedRite?  Is this productive for the MT or time-consuming.  Thanks
Softscript productivity, etc.
I was looking on here to see if anyone had any suggestions about improving productivity with Softscript.  I have been there 3 months and am now literally working 12 hours a day because of the things that have been mentioned; the time spent looking up account specifics and physician names, or trying to get a question answered.  There are a few good people there though, and I was hoping with the addition of Brenda Hurley maybe things will get better.  I am an ex-MQ'r and the biggest advantage I see with SoftScript is that they do not change your accounts from week to week.  I have had the same 2 for 3 months.  I have 13 years experience and they did give me a little better wage, but NOTHING CLOSE to the 12 cpl I got with the first MSTO I signed on with many, many years ago.  I'm afraid those days are gone.
escription productivity
How well eScription works for you has a little to do with how efficiently you navigate around in the report and a lot to do with the dictators and how well the program types up the report in the first place (meaning, does the report need few corrections or a lot?). This depends on how well it was trained on the account in the first place. If it was trained on the account by a relatively small group of good MTs then it should work pretty good. Productivitiy also has a lot to do with the dictators themselves. If you have a super slow talking doctor that you could type as fast as listening to, then that will hurt your VR productivity. If you have a doctor that jumps around a lot and confuses the program, that will hurt your VR productivity. If you have a clear doctor who speaks fast and eScription spits out a pretty clean report, then that will help your VR productivity. How well eScription does with any particular accent of any particular doctor depends a lot on how well it was trained in the first place by the MTs. If the MTs were able to understand the doctor and give a solid report then the program will learn well and probably do well. If not... well, you get the idea.

Hard to get your hours in and keep productivity up
To get a decent line count, you have to clock out when you're not transcribing. That means clock out for EVERYTHING not transcribing.

The result is you're writing/responding to email off the clock, studying account specifics off the clock, etc.--in other words, doing a lot of work off the clock.

This keeps your line count okay, but it also makes for a very long day. It's a real catch-22. If you get a good lph, you probably didn't make the hours or put in way more than your required hours to get there. If you made the hours, you probably didn't make the lph.

Sound quality varies. Have some lousier ESLs with Webmedx than a lot of places.

Software is good, aimed toward MT productivity, but for the reasons mentioned above, this may be a moot point anyway.

Look at the archives. It's interesting to see the wave of interest over various companies. Seems Webmedx is rising in interest once again. Take a look at the opinions a while back, though. You'll get a clearer picture if you don't just go with whomever is popular at the moment.
How 's productivity working in this compnay?
xxxxx
I did ask that, it would increase accuracy, productivity, TAT....sm
She took me off one of the two clinics so now I only have about 35 docs and maybe 10 specialities, but I believe this is only temporary since I am having trouble familiarizing.  I just get the impression that I am not up to par where I should be and I'm surprised, as I'm a quick study.  And to pour salt in it, my two QA people on our Messenger List notated next to their names yesterday that they were typing ___ and listed my account name.  These ladies only type when backed up.  So I think I'm bogging them down:(   I feel so inadequate, and for less than 8 cpl.  Oy.
productivity...long message sm
Wow, congrats on 10 years of experience, a great schedule, rare interruptions and very good work habits! Sounds like you should have no problem being more productive! It also sounds like you just need to work smarter not harder. Let Word do more of the work for you--use simple macros (page setups and jumps), autotext (templates and normals), autocorrect (long strings of text, single words with suffixes, special function codes e.g. semicolon and the ALT+ keys), autoformat (quick bold/underline), try to stay away from the mouse (use KB shortcuts), resist the temptation to go back to fix typos on the fly (but remember to spellcheck!), take a quick break every hour to stretch and drink water, set two timers--one for how long you plan to transcribe before your next break and the other to limit your referencing time or Internet playtime--5-10 minutes max? (i use CoolTimer freeware), set payroll/weekly/daily goals, temp save frequently, proof 1x, leave blanks if you must (you have nothing to prove and nothing to gain by dwelling on the difficult!) Hope this helps! =)
Here's the productivity tools site

https://secure.bayscribe.com/expander/

I wish I could help you with transferring the expander, but I can't.  MIne doesn't work in Bayscribe (I use Stedman's Smartype) so I type it in Word and then cut and paste into Bayscribe.

Good luck with your expander!

Question re: your amazing productivity
I have read a couple of posts now which stated that working with Chartscript decreased their productivity tremendously. In all my years as in the biz, Chartscript is all I've ever used and it makes me wonder if that is contributing to my lack of productivity. Also, I am interested as to where you can work to make the type of line count you have - I think I'd throw myself a party every day if I reached levels such as that!!
How is MW's MeriT program as far as productivity goes? just curious

easy to learn, but not good for productivity

WedMedx
Hi NM. Thanks for the info. Have a great weekend.
WedMedx

Hi -- Is anyone familiar with WedMedx Company? Are they good to work for?

Thanks.   LLD

WedMedX

I have worked for them for almost three years and have never run out of work even during the holidays and there is OT almost every weekend.  I was given three accounts when I started with them and just recently I was asked if I wanted to add on another account.  They recently have been getting new accounts and just bought a company whose headquarters are in Tennessee.

diskriter, wedmedx
i see there is Diskriter and diskriter, inc - what is the difference and is better than the other?
Can you use your own computer with Wedmedx or
nm,
do i have to quit MQ to work for wedmedx
Help!  Do I have to quit my job with MQ to work part-time with Webmedx?
RE: do i have to quit MQ to work for wedmedx
Not unless you want to. Your choice.
Transcend or Wedmedx? Offers from both -
which one should I chose, if any? Help me, please!
Recent info on Wedmedx
Does anyone have any recent comments, pros, cons, etc, about this company, I have searched the archives but all I come up with are posts dated either 2005/2006 and would like to know some current info, such as line rate, ESL percentage, steady accounts, how are they to work for?  Any info would be appreciated, either on the board or in an e-mail.  Thanks so much for any information anyone can provide.
Does Wedmedx have a time clock? nm

Can someone tell me how to pronounce the company WedMedX?
Is the *Web* stressed first?  WEB medix?  Or Web MED X?

Thanks!!!

How is Wedmedx to work for and pay rate?? Thanks for info

Just curious..

Okay..HELP.. I have had some job offers, who would you choose, Wedmedx, Medscribe, or MDI-FL.
Each has its good points and bad. I just want to make a good choice and have no desire to job hop. Line rate obviously is important but so are benefits.. So help me out if you have any suggestions at all, even a different company to apply with that you think are better than these. Thanks in advance for your ideas and/or suggestions.
Yeah I was hired by Wedmedx but I screwed up.

They had even sent me the equipment. I was so excited..it was an ortho position and then I have family medical issues and just one thing after another. There was a misunderstanding. I guess I was supposed to get ahold of them with my new start date and I was waiting for them to contact me once I got all of final paperwork in etc. In any event, when I got ahold of them, they said I was supposed to have followed up by now and wouldnt give me a chance. I was so bummed. I havent found a decent place to call home since then. This was like 2-3 months ago. Good luck to you. The insurance was the main reason I was going to go there too.

Has anyone had experience with both eScription and ASR @Wedmedx? I hear a lot of sm
good things about eScription, but I don't have amnything to compare it to (except ASR at Webmedx). Anyone?
Know WedMedx,: Recommend. Good company. SM
Hi, Looking. Yes, you have to log in and out--good structure for people who'd love to earn more money if only they could keep their hands clicking. Very nice incentive scale for those who do. Good medical. Rest of benefit package slim, made up for by good earnings IMO.

Platform getting genuinely good now and continually improving; the old slowness people complains about seems to be gone.

Lots of ESL but simply not a problem for pros once familiar with dictators. Assigned accounts so you can get fast. Need more than one as they can empty out during those hours when a lot of people want to work.

Genuinely nice company to work for. Excellent support in a variety of areas. Very helpful education programs and groups to help develop skill levels, both medical knowledge and production. Study groups and monetary assistance getting certification, and more.

BTW, if you sign on, you now get to be called a Medical Content Specialist. Not sure what that means yet, but I'm newly impressed with myself anyway.

Bottom line: Good place for good workers.
Read here Wedmedx was hiring new grads. What are they paying?
would love to know.
If you had a choice..Diskriter, Medscribe, or Wedmedx, as far as benefits, pay etc..
Just trying to sort out some options. Thanks
I'm with you on the Wedmedx time clock. Not sure it would work out for me...too many distruptions
my day to clock in and clock out for every little thing. Thanks..
Does anyone know if Wedmedx insurance covers bariatric surgery? nm

Any Wedmedx'ers out there. How anyone made decent money with them and how is their platform?
Thinking of applying but would like the skinny on if you can make any money with them.
True story..Over 14 yrs.exp. and offered 8 cpl by Diskriter, 7.75 cpl Medscribe and 7.75 Wedmedx.
Those were the best paying.. Let's not forgot the MTSO that want to pay 6-7 cpl for an experienced transcriptionst. No newbies!! That makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time..Only profession where you get a pay DEcrease every year.

MDI's new system.. Can anyone tell me
if they like it, love it, hate it? I HATE IT! It has cut my lines in half and I'm ready to throw in the towel. It's a second job for me and I only do it part time. I love the account I'm on and everything but their new system stinks. I didn't mind AIM but their new system can join my hated docs on the long cruise to nowhere that I wish they take every time I get them..
Is it the AIM system still? nm

new MDI system
Hi, I have been working on the new system, yes there are some issues with quality - I have been putting my headset in the back of my computer and the sound is much better. I love the new system though, it just needs some time
OLD SYSTEM
Except for a couple of accounts, they are still using the OLD DOS program.
I mean system - DUH! nm

I was 300-350+ at Q, can't get above 270 at Wx. It's their system. nm

Don’t know what VR system you use
but this is why I said, it has to be trained correctly. If you have scads on and 1 does something 1 way, the next another way, the third some other way, that is where the problem comes in. By the end of the day my total was $153 so that was ok for me and it is so much easier than straight.
System was down for a while. It is frustrating.
I know they are working on it. Overall, I like this system better than most.
No structure/system at MDI-MD...sm
I feel like they have too many MTs typing amuck anywhere and everywhere whenever they want 24/7 causing everyone to have to work 24 hours a day to get their lines in.  I have been chained to this computer for over 5 months now.
If you do not already have an abbreviation system
you will not succeed. I don't mean to say this in a mean spirited way. I'm saying it after working for several companies where I needed ShortHand and had to build it from scratch. It is counterproductive to learn new accounts, a new platform, and a new abbreviation system all at the same time. It takes literally weeks of refining the entries that would allow greater productivity...weeks that you won't have time to invest when you are expected to be up at full production by your third paycheck. Consider everything.
I should have specified that Allscripts is EMR system.
nm
Oh and learn this new system..
Be an IC at 7 cpl, and do your assigned work and be our slave!  What a joke...
Not sure, but I think it's a call-in system...
and probably most of the docs are using phones in the hospital. Just the other day I had a doc call from home and dictate from his kitchen. Sounded like he was washing dishes, and he stopped often to talk to his small children. There was a dog barking, and I could hear him let the dog out as he was dictating.
Now and then, some of the docs dictate on speaker settings because they want their hands free to type into computers for patient records, or to go through papers.
I've had this sort of thing on every account I've ever done at every company.
Whenever it's really bad, I send an email to support and/or my account supervisor. I always get good response from them. No one can check a dictation station or tell a dictator to get off his cell phone if we don't let the office know that there's a problem. :)
Was the system ExText?

They told me I would be working on ExText. Is this the platform you used?  And thank you for your response! I really appreciate it.

What kind of a system is it?
