Well, first of all, it's not TTS that offers it but rather TransTech (TT). They will reimburse
their employees $1000 on the purchase of a new hybrid automobile or $500 on the purchase of a used automobile. It's their way of encouraging their employees to be environmentally conscious. Hope that helps.
I have offers from Diskriter, WebMD, and TransTech.
nm
Not true. I believe TransTech either offers paid maternity leave or is about to.

TRS, TransTech or MedQuist?
I have been testing for a new position and have been offered a position with MQ, but after reading all of the posts I am not sure about them anymore? I am waiting to hear from Transtech and TRS as well and wondering if anyone has any advice on which is the best to go with?

I am still a newer MT and would really like a stable, good company to work for. The company I am with now is going through some problems and lacking in work as well as structure and my pay keeps getting cut back due to switching accts and mandatory editing for these new accounts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I am really eager to be with a great company and improve my skills, knowledge and speed.

Thanks,
Kris
TRS, TransTech or MedQuist

I would love to work for Transolutions, but only received a 93% on their test and needed a 96%.  I will try to retest after the 6 month waiting period and will hopefully have more exp and knowledge?  I will check into the US based MT aspect with these other companies.  I did not know Medquist hires other than US.

Thanks,

Kris

MedQuist, OSI, Transtech, New England Medical Tx
Unless things have changed. Have not worked at any of them but know people who did.
TransTech does and SOME of DTS in Tenn. accounts do. nm

Are all of TransTech's accounts out of work?

When are the new Transtech accounts starting?

Transtech has new accounts coming soon

Transtech will be hiring for new accounts soon

Does Transtech have ER or Radiology accounts? TIA (nm)

Sounds like TransTech and it's NOT how the majority of accounts are. nm

Does anyone know what Transtech pays for its Escription accounts?
I'd be willing to work weekends if the price was right.  I've just seen too many Escription accounts pay too low, which to me, is 3 cpl and lower..One company actually offered 1.5 cpl. No thanks.
When I worked at TransTech, there was a doctor on one of the accounts sm

who stuttered.  At first, I was really frustrated, but then I also saw it from his side, how frustrating it must be to know what you want to say and then face that challenge.  I do not know about the physician you are referring to, but in the case I am referring to, I do not think the patient record suffered because of the doctor's stuttering.  I just kind of grimaced when I got him.  You would think that people like that, as well as the ESLs who are so challenged they can barely form a sentence, would hire a P.A./N.C. to do their dictating for them.  Go figure.

Sorry you have that to deal with.

TransTech has 2 huge Editscript accounts
.
TransTech has 2 current Escription accounts

Info on GIMT and TransTech oncology accounts

Anyone out there familiar with the oncology accounts for  GIMT or TransTech  are advertising for?  Would like to know if there is enough work, platform they use, general pay range.  How flexible are they on scheduling?

Thanks.

Yep, exactly -- TransTech lost accounts and I truly believe is in financial trouble right now !

That small overflow account acquired has not paid yet, and the HUGE hospital they lost is no longer paying them.

I really think TT is in lots of trouble right now money-wise.  Keeps changing payroll companies due to *floating* and not having the money for the payroll company, is my thoughts.

We had the best payroll company in the world -- but TT all of a sudden changed . . . and I mean ALL OF A SUDDEN, so much so that all our payroll information was WRONG, etc.  Horrible time with this new payroll company, but it was a FAST decision made on TT's part.  Probably had no choice except to change payroll companies.

TT is not stable as far as financial backup.  Just imagine after losing a HUGE hospital account how much less money was coming in this week and prior.  Those little overflow accounts just don't bring in a lot of monies.  Dictaphone controls how much money TT gets -- due to Dictaphone owning the platform and dividing up the work between Dictaphone's customers !

 times for TT now.

Is the pay comparable?
I've done 3 jobs so far, and I'm making about 1/3 to 1/2 per hour what I normally would (counting being an IC and losing the employer paid portion) I am hoping this is just a learning curve problem (trying to keep track of 15 different speakers, etc.) because the work is very interesting.Did you guys find you were able to speed up, or did you finally throw up your hands?

And yes they do medical conferences, they also do legal and corporate transcription.
Comparable...
Focus pays more for production, retroactive to entire pay period when lines per pay period goals are met. Also there is a shift differential for lines edited/transcribed after 9 p.m.
Pay was definitely comparable.
I relocated and needed time to build my home. Nothing made me run away from this company. I would recommend them.
TransTech has no work; that is why; lost accounts; overhired significantly BAD nm

Does TT care?  No, they get their big paychecks no matter if the MT's do or not.

TransTech accounts are ALL very quickly going to VR and pay is half line rate

If you like VR and the pay cut, then TT will be a good fit for you.  If you are experienced and will let someone pay you less than you are worth, then go for it.

Other than accounts going to VR there and MT pay cut for editing VR reports, TT has been a good fit for me.  I am very disappointed in the recent VR pay cuts.

They are changing platforms and cutting our line rate in half as the accounts go live with VR.

Their pay and benefits seem very comparable..sm

to other companies from what I have found out.  Not sure of anything else. I have not started with them yet.  They offer employee status or IC status.  I would love to find out more information too.  Have you taken the job or just inquiring?

MOST of TransTech's accounts are obtained through Dictaphone/Nuance -- not by any TT mgmt people

out seeking work for all the MT's that they have recently hired on.  That is not a good thing when Dictaphone has control of how much work TT gets, when we can have some work from them, etc.  They have other MTSO's who want work for their MT's, too, so Dictaphone/Nuance has to share with all MTSO's who have contracted with them to use their equipment; thus, doling out jobs as Dictaphone/Nuance sees fit for their good.

My rates are comparable to before and didn't go up.
If you look at the website, the vision says $0.00.  The only way you have to pay for your vision is if you don't take the medical.
I wonder if they are at least worse or comparable to what I'm going thru right now at my present
At least I get PTO/sick time, but keep running out of work, and seems like everything falling apart. All work will be going to India soon.

I just want to work for an honest company that treats their employees right. I wonder why that is so difficult to find.
I wish I knew where I could make comparable money. nm

Using Vianeta to do our work is comparable to eating soup with a fork!

MedQuist board is now set up. See Medquist link to the left.

Link is also below.

I've used both PC SH & Instant Text and they are comparable ... would love to hear comparison (s
Shorthand (or my version of it) seems to have a compatibility problem with the Bayscribe platform Expander ...so I just use ShortHand (I don't know if it's just my quite old version or not) ...

I switched from Instant Text to Shorthand when the in-house Meditech job I was working agreed to install Shorthand for the department.

I believe they both have 90 day or some such downloadable trials.

If you have more than one computer, it's not a bad idea to buy the disk and documentation so if you need/want to reinstall it, it's there ... though that may be old school thinking on my part.

Good luck.
where they 35 comparable reports - or 35 short and 35 long reports? nm
x
So, if not spaces paid, what cpl would be comparable to at least 9 cpl w/spaces, do you know??
Thanks.
Two offers
I jumped at the first offer because I was on a long dry spell. The next day I got another offer.  Same pay but excellent samples, directions, you name it. Better than the first company.  First company is like typing in an old DOS program, second company uses Word.  First company requires a different type pedal, second company  (I USE MY OWN). Can I do them both?
I got many offers off of here
and two other places I can't mention or my posts get deleted.
MDI -MD offers 24 hrs, I think. nm

HELP, 2 offers

on the table.

One offer is Med-Scribe, FL.  I did get offered the split shift that I prefer also.

Other offer is Medquist for more cpl.  I was offered a split shift that I am not too fond of but need split shift.

I am weighing pros and cons of each and am stuck.  Any info to help me weigh these two companies would be great......like what flexibility each has, anybody working for either, anybody happy with either?

low offers
I agree that there will always be someone willing to accept a low offer just to gain some experience. But, you get what you pay for. If a company expects quality work, we can expect quality pay for said work! The turnover rates would be a lot lower and the MTs (and MTSOs) would be a lot happier. It's a win-win situation.
Two job offers - very undecided -

One offer from Diskriter, part time (30 hours) PTO.  They pay $12/hour for down time, including when no work is available.  The other is Landmark, a fairly new business, but the owners seem really wonderful.  Has anyone had any personal experience with either of these companies? Both are paying in the range of what I wanted.

TIA!!

IC, SE or employee? I have 3 job offers and
am not sure which way to go.  I have little if any write-offs, so I'm thinking employee.  The per line amount is the same.  The SE offer counts spaces but no headers & footers and the employee offer does not count spaces but does count headers and footers and offers W/E and night differentials.   The only real advantage I'm seeing is the greater flexibility with IC.  Any advice?  Thank you.
MDI-MD offers what you're looking for
They're awesome to work for. I'm on a super easy account, that I don't mind sharing the info on - it's for a hospital in eastern Maryland. The docs are easy, the platform is easy. I've even typed radiology for the account and couldn't believe how easy that was as well!! I have a 12 hour window, but I like getting up early and knocking out my lines in less than 6 hours! $$
I need some advice. Two job offers. sm
Job #1 is employee status/benefits, 0.07 per line, average ESL, plenty of work, great hours. Will have to buy computer and spellcheck software.

Job #2 is IC status/no benefits, 0.09 per line, no ESL,plenty of work, great hours. Will have to buy computer.

I have never been an IC.

I need some advice by those in the know. I really don't know what to do here. I do not have insurance through DH's job so it would have to be through my employer or private insurance, depending on which way I go.

Any advice by cooler heads than mine? Thank you.

Who offers BCBS?

What MT employers offer BCBS?

How is someone supposed to know who offers the best

medical benefits?  Unless you have worked for every company you don't know how one compares to the other.   If you have no pre-existing conditions and are in good health you are better off to get a private policy.  Deductible might be higher, but your premium is less and with the money you save on premium you could put money away for deductible.

If you get a private policy you aren't tied to a company because you need the insurance.

Trying to decide between offers
Morning all -  I have a dilema and would like some opinions on what you would do.  I have been offered 2 positions.  One is with a company that provides equipment pays higher, but I would be doing reports that I am not that great with and they are ESLs.  The second offer I have to provide my own equipment and will have to spend about $80 to get what I need and they pay about 2 cents per line less, but they are easier work types and not as many ESLs.  Which would you choose?  I'm sure I'll get a lot of those nasty posts I have seen lately because you think it is simple , but I do know there are a few of you out there who will not be nasty and give me your honest opinion.
I'd wait and see who offers you the job

In this economy, a lot of companies are not hiring.  While you may have applied with all of these companies, I wouldn't get my heart set on 1 until you've actually been offered the position.

With all the low pay offers - How's the PTO? see message
New job.  Earning 3-1/2 hours PTO per pay period (2 weeks), which should equate to about 2 weeks per year until the 4th year.  Only 2 sick days - period.  How does this compare?
Transcend I believe offers

Who offers direct deposit for IC?

Curious to get opinions on these offers (sm)

Have an offer for 8 cpl statutory but a mix of clinics...have an offer for 9 cpl but acute care IC.  Finally have an offer for the clinic work type I'm looking for but only 8 cpl IC.  Isn't that low for an IC?  Actually, since I don't want acute care and prefer clinics the 8 cpl stat looks better but it is with a company with a bad reputation but the other company that pays 8 cpl IC has no reputation so it is entirely unknown.  I know nobody can tell me what to do but geez I'm using to making much more than this and have an account that pays well above it actually but I want to divide my time between 2 jobs and have an easier side account to supplement my high-pay harder one.  Does 8 cpl IC sound reasonable or is this below par?  Maybe it is worth it to take less to get the work type I want?  TIA
