Medware has 2 platforms, Merit and EXText

Posted By: I can answer that on 2006-03-10
In Reply to: Medware Question - Congrats to you!

They use 2 platforms, their own called Merit and Dictaphone's EXText.  Depends on what work type and account you ask for, different teams for each one.  Hope that helps, I have been with Medware about 6 months and use EXText, it's awesome.  I am on a clinic account.

MeriT versus ExText
I just started with Medware a little over a month ago as an Editor and work on the MeriT System. I worked on ExText before joining Medware and I like MeriT better. ExText is a great program, but I think MeriT is more MT friendly.
Medware Merit platform ~ anyone use

Hoping someone could let me know how well the 2 work together.  Is the Merit platform easy to use ~ how does it compare to Extext?  Thanks a bunch for any info!!!

Merit side of Medware....
Can anyone give me their opinion on how easy it is to get lines, etc. on the Merit side of Medware?  I am currently on the dictaphone side, but have such problems with the software locking up that before I leave the company completely was wondering how the Merit side was.  Thanks.
Medware's Merit works with satellite

I have high speed satellite (DirecWay) and work for Medware.

Anybody running Smartype with the Medware MeriT program? (nm)

Medware Merit or Voice Recognition platform..help me decide please.

t.y.

Feeling clueless in regard to MT platforms such as Extext, etc. sm
I have always worked with MS Word and WordPerfect. Had my own clients for many years, as well as working for MTSO as an IC. I have never worked on a transcription platform such Extext or any of the other common platforms. I am well versed in working digitally with FTP, TASP, etc. I currently work for a service and continue to work strictly in MS Word and FTP transfer. I worry about this lack of experience with these platforms What can I do to educate myself in the event I choose to go with a large national who uses a MT platform? Quite honestly, I have never even used a shortcut program other than auto correct in MS Word because I have very, very few repetitive dictations, as I type many different specialties and doctors, who each has their own style and format required (mainly teaching and research hospital) Thanks for any ideas.
EXText with Medware
The company I worked for lost a big account and said nothing to any of us.  I applied at Medware as they use Dictaphone EXText as well.  After speaking with the recruiter and testing, I was offered a position and they set me up in less than 1 day, keeping my ESP word Expander list.  I missed one day's work, but my new account has plenty of work and I was very impressed with everyone that I spoke with at Medware, I would recommend you give them a look.
Medware uses EXText
They have both acute care and clinic teams that use EXText.  You are right, it is a great system.
I use EXText with Medware

I also like using EXText, good software.  Like Medware so far as well.

I use EXText with Medware
It is an awesome platform, very productive.
I use EXText with Medware
You are right, it is a great platform.  Very easy to learn, before I started at Medware I used a DVI system, EXText is much easier and more productive.

I use EXText with Medware and love it
Very easy to install, I had typed on EXText at a previous service so I was familiar with the platform, but it is quite easy to use.
I am using Merit.
I also think they have a Dictaphone.
MERIT

I found it to be a very user friendly platform to use.

9cpl and 11 cpl for weekends. Use ExText. My ExText version wasn't compatible with theirs
,
Actually, I was on the Merit side.
Now I work for a company using Dictaphone, and I'm happy.
Only some of MW uses that. The ER work is all done on MeriT, which is their own. nm
x
Not all MW ER work is on MeriT - sm
I work on a primarily ER account and we are on the Dictaphone platform.  I really love working for Medware.
I use Merit on the ER team

nm

Merit Program
Compared to EXText? No comparison, way worse.
Love Merit
I love the Merit platform, but it's pretty much the only one I've known other than Medware's older one where you had to dial in. Merit is probably the only reason I stay with the company since I don't want to learn a new platform and I'm afraid it will be tedious. They do not have enough work right now though on the ER side, but maybe acute care and Dictaphone does.
merit versus dictaphone
merit sucks compared to extext
Merit of DeVenture's Reply
I have to give DeVenture credit for making their reply sound so credible. However, my understanding is that this case was not about one of your MTs at home. This case is about one of your administrative staff members NOT one of your typists, so this does not compare whatsoever. Nice try though.
Any information on Merit Tech

in AZ?

Thanks

Amen! I am a reviewer on the Merit side and could not
I have experienced nothing bad. Recruiter was honest and great to work with. Training was great and my Team Lead is the best!! Very happy with everything at Medware. I left a horrible company (OSi)!!!

I can see why they were voted Employer of the Year. They rock!!!!
I should say that this is for ER work, employee, Merit system. nm

How is MW's MeriT program as far as productivity goes? just curious

MW also uses their own software, Merit, which is very easy and organized. nm
x
Anyone use the Merit platform with MW? Good, bad, average? nm
s
I have worked on both sides, Merit and dictaphone.

I think the Dictaphone is better but the account I had you could not view old reports.  You could open up another text client and view them that way, but opening up 2 word documents of any kind messed things up and I had to get out of everything and start over.

As far as the dictators, I had an easy-dictator account with both Merit and Dictaphone and  yes, there was more than enough work to do on the Dictaphone side but the Merit account ran out quite a bit.    I had encountered 3 different team leads during my stay tere and all were as nice as they could be.

Word based expanders work with Merit
Hope that helps
You can't pick what accounts you get, only whether you are ER or acute. I do 2000+ on ER, Merit p
woowoo
Merit is what is screwed up. As usual. New managers couldn't care less.
nm
I wasn't productive on MeriT. Too much time spent entering demographic information...

There is no roster to pull patient names from, so you have to type what the docs say, and those ER docs speak at lightening speed.  I spent more time trying to get the patient name right than I did typing the report.  I really, really hated that.

Platforms
DocQScribe is the best platform in my opinion - it's MT friendly (whether the company is ripping lines or not is another, ah, truth).  Really, though, just what were they thinking when they came up with BeyondTXT!  Good Lord!  eScription is good too.
They have many platforms
Some accounts do require a C-phone or a Lanier and others are wav files. I do Radiology but they do have acute care and clinic. They offer FT, PT and IC. They are not as flexible as other companies I have worked for but they do try. I would rank them at the top of my list of companies.

Good luck!
They have 2 platforms, one of which is much better
If it is for the account I think it is for, it is the easy platform with good sound quality. I would look into it further before you make your decision.
Does MDI-FL have other platforms
besides Meditech.  If so, what are they and are they user friendly?
Do you know what platforms they use
for radiology? Pay usually by
line or exam? Dictators?
I believe that they use two platforms. sm
I work on the newer platform (TAe), and Instant Text DOES work with it just fine. =)
Platforms

Hello all. I am the owner of a small (but very busy) transcription service here in the U.S. and am considering purchasing my own transcription platform. I currently lease the platform that my MT's are using. I would appreciate some info from anyone that is working on a web-based, non-FTP, MT friendly platform. I know that most larger transcription companies have proprietary platforms, so I am looking for one that I can purchase ready made. Any help is appreciated!!  Thanks!

May use other platforms, too. sm
Chances are Sten-Tel is the platform you will be using but have known companies that use Sten-Tel that also us other platforms, also. They are telliing you to keep track of your lines using the work count feature found under tools.
They have several different platforms.
I only work on their eScription ones though.
platforms
It seems like anymore each company has their own platform anyway, so I don't think it's a big deal as long as you are a quick learner.
there are several platforms; which one are you on?

Not with platforms but know of a few with FTP. sm
Smaller MTSOs that do clinics and private practices typically have the M-F hours, but they don't often have platforms.
different platforms?
Does Webmedx still give you various platforms to transcribe on depending on the account.
